Motivating the Unmotivated with Matt Granados03 Dec 202500:38:14

What if motivation isn't something people are born with, but something that can be influenced, shaped, and sustained? In this episode, Kevin is joined by Matt Granados to challenge common leadership myths about motivation. Matt reveals a powerful formula for creating sustainable motivation through personal connection, structured systems, and self-awareness. He explores the critical distinction between love-based and fear-based leadership, explains how three simple weekly questions can transform team engagement, and helps leaders identify individual motivation catalysts, including freedom, acknowledgment, connectivity, and support.

Matt's Story: Matt Granados is a two-time #1 international bestselling author. His latest book is Motivate the Unmotivated: A Proven System for Sustainable Motivation. He is the founder and CEO of Life Pulse Inc., where he helps organizations fix people problems by solving process problems, once and for all. His Life Pulse Methodology equips leaders and teams to achieve Optimal Performance—the highest sustainable output aligned with human potential. Matt first validated this approach by transforming a Craigslist-hired crew into a $40 million sales team. Since then, companies like Google, Twitter, and the U.S. Air Force have used his system to reduce burnout, increase retention, and engineer culture

How do you coach someone who only seems to do the bare minimum… even when you know they're capable of so much more?

In this episode of Remarkable TV and The Remarkable Leadership Podcast, I share seven practical steps to help you coach, support, and clarify expectations for team members who may be meeting the minimum — but could be achieving more.

You'll learn:
✔ Why expectations are almost always misunderstood
✔ How to explore their perspective before offering your perspective
✔ Why "minimum" might not mean what you think
✔ How to help people see the potential you see in them
✔ When to coach, when to support, and when to let it go

Leading for Wellness with Katina Sawyer and Patricia Grabarek29 Oct 202500:36:27

What if everything you believe about workplace wellness is only part of the story? In this episode, Kevin welcomes Dr. Katina Sawyer and Dr. Patricia Grabarek to discuss the real drivers of well-being at work and the critical role leaders play in shaping thriving environments. Drawing on their research, Katina and Patricia challenge the overreliance on surface-level wellness programs and demonstrate how authentic leadership, trust, and team connection have far greater impact. They introduce the concept of "generators", leaders who energize and empower their teams and contrast them with "extinguishers," who unintentionally drain motivation and wellness. Patricia and Katina also explore ideas like authenticity within professional boundaries, person-centered leadership, and the practical importance of being a "boundary bouncer."

They share how proximity connects with work and how we eat and provide real-world examples from Domino's Pizza's tech-driven customer experience to controlled environment agriculture revolutionizing food production. Further, they provide advice to leaders on leveraging proximity to break down barriers, prioritize opportunities, and align technology with unmet needs.

Harnessing the Power of Group Intelligence with Siobhan McHale18 Dec 202400:33:36

What can leaders learn from bees about creating lasting change in organizations? Siobhan McHale tells Kevin that bees recognize when a hive is overcrowded and the need for a new home. They notice what is emerging and act, which many organizations fail to do. Kevin and Siobhan discuss how leaders can harness the power of group intelligence to foster agile, resilient organizations. She introduces the "Lens Model," a four-part, non-linear framework that includes Look Beyond: Identify and understand hidden patterns that drive organizational behavior. Experiment: Test small changes to discover effective solutions within the system. Nudge: Use subtle shifts to encourage change without creating resistance. Strengthen: Reinforce emerging changes to ensure they become embedded in the organization's culture. She also talks about GQ, or group intelligence, as a necessary complement to IQ and EQ in today's complex world.

She has worked across four continents, helping thousands of leaders to create more agile and productive workplaces. She also has been on the "inside" as the executive in charge of culture change in a series of large, multinational organizations. One of these inside jobs was a radical seven-year change initiative at Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) Bank that transformed it from the lowest-performing bank in the country into one of the highest-performing and most admired banks in the world. Professor John Kotter used her work with ANZ as a Harvard Business School case study designed to teach MBA students about managing change.

Activating the Soul, Heart and Mind of Leadership with Jonathan Clark27 Nov 202400:33:29

Do you lead over or through? Jonathan Clark says leading through is finding leadership everywhere throughout the organization. He shares three essential elements of leadership: heart, mind, and soul. Leadership is fundamentally about doing what's right and leading through positive influence rather than coercion or authority. Jonathan believes there can be "love" in leadership – more than an idea but genuine appreciation, attention, and support for colleagues.

What is the Biggest Secret to Giving Feedback?20 Oct 202500:06:37

Over the years, I've learned that feedback conversations often fail before they even begin — and I've made my fair share of mistakes too. But in this episode, I'm sharing what I believe is the biggest secret to giving feedback that actually works.

Whether you're a leader, a coach, or just want to help someone grow — the key is not in what you say first, but in what you ask.

In this video, I'll walk you through:

- The powerful shift that makes feedback more effective
- A few simple, open-ended questions I use to start these conversations
- How to respond when someone says too little, too much, or just what you hoped they would
- And the two final questions I always ask to create lasting improvement

If you want your feedback to be received, accepted, and applied — start here.
