In this episode, I reflect on the Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 2nd which offers a transformation in our relationships, contracts and agreements. Eclipses are powerful periods of changes of consciousness and bring a disruption to the natural order of things. In Libra, the focus is on how we relate to others, find balance, equality and common ground. This is a South Node eclipse which suggests purging, as well as experiences and relationships from the past that return for resolution. Mercury is in the mix which suggests significant information that comes to light in the days around the eclipse which can be pivotal in our decision making. We may at first struggle to be heard or understood, yet it may be important to keep the peace.

Black Moon Lilith is tightly conjoined to the solar eclipse, signifying the need to reject oppression, even while we attempt to find a mutually beneficial solution in our agreements.The ruler of the eclipse is Venus in Scorpio so there is an undercurrent of profound depth, rawness and burning desire.Mars trine Saturn fuels action of working toward progress and rebuilding structures that support our goals.

Carl Jung was very focused on the psychology of midlife, when a person begins to seek guidance from within more than the strivings of the ego. I have found the teachings of Jung and Jungians very insightful in my journey through midlife and beyond.

However, some of these teachings talk about a path that I don’t recognize in my own life. What if we have already been on a journey of liberation well before we reach midlife? What, then, are the opportunities that are present for us during this pivotal period in life?

I explore these questions in terms of midlife experiences, such as the Uranus opposition and the second Saturn return, as well as reflect on the question I often hear from astrology students such as what is “supposed” to happen during these times.

In this episode, I delve into the cosmic lovers Venus and Mars having recently entered Aquarius. As they crossed the threshold, they immediately conjoined transformative Pluto.

Venus and Mars will conjoin on Feb 21-22 and soon after, have an exaggerated square with Jupiter in Taurus. This is all occurring during the Virgo Full Moon who wants to bring order to all the chaos by organizing, purifying and being of service.

A dramatic Full Moon aligns in Leo on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 5 degrees Leo (Moon) and Aquarius (Sun), exact at 9:33 AM PST / 12:33 PM EST. Leo Full Moons often bring emotional drama, and this may feel especially high stakes as it opposes Pluto at 0 Aquarius.

Diva-like behavior may be on the menu in order to save face as underlying fears activate ego desires. We may be called to transcend pride in order to serve a greater collective cause.

This Full Moon is the culmination of the intentions of the Capricorn New Moon on January 11 which may brought unexpected shifts in our work, achievement and sense of authority as it was trine Uranus.

Uranus is stationing direct so we can expect more excitement, surprising shifts and liberation from the norm. The Full Moon squares abundant Jupiter in Taurus, increasing the sense of freedom, abundance and exaggeration.

Pluto is entering Aquarius for the second time on January 20, 2024, this time illuminated by the Sun. I reflect on what this means personally and collectively as the planet of metamorphosis crosses the threshold from the Capricornian archetype of patriarchal and political authority into the realm of Aquarian collectivity and humanitarianism.
