UFC Freedom 250 is in the books and the UFC will never be same again. An event surrounding Alex Pereira & Ilia Topuria ended with both fighters in defeat.
Ciryl Gane defeated Alex Pereira by 2nd round TKO to once again become Interim Heavyweight Champion. Gane knocked down Pereira early with a jab but Pereira get back to his feet. Not long after Gane started attacking Pereira and clipping him with multiple hooks leading to a TKO loss for the hurt two division champion. Pereira however is appealing the decision due to controversial strikes in the back of his head during the fight.
As for Justin Gaethje, he shocks the UFC world once again handing Ilia Topuria his first professional loss. Gaethje established his power early using straights and uppercuts to mark Topuria early. However Gaethje faced a dreadful moment in the 2nd round after crumbling to body punches. However instead of finishing the fight with ground & pound, Topuria decided to shoot for an armbar. The 2nd round left him tired and Gaethje would continue to hurt Topuria multiple times in the fight even knocking down Topuria. The fight almost ended in the end of the 3rd round when the doctor stepped in but Topuria the referee & even the crowd persuaded the referee to keep it going. However by the end of the 4th round Topuria’s corner called the fight and Justin Gaethje finally captures the UFC Lightweight Title after his 3rd attempt.
Now with Pereira & Topuria both without a title and Gane & Gaethje Champions, the UFC looks to do a whole 360. Who Will the new champions fight next and will the former champs seek gold again?
