Visual signs and schedules are tools that use images, symbols, and/or words to provide information and instructions in a visual format. They are commonly used in various settings, including indoor playgrounds, to help individuals with communication difficulties or cognitive disabilities understand their surroundings and what is expected of them. And if you accommodate children that are under 5 or 6 years old– remember, they can’t yet read. So even if they do not have any disabilities, visual signs can help them follow the rules and behave safely in your space and it can help prevent tantrums and meltdowns in all kiddos. A few weeks back I interviewed the amazing Amanda Bybel on this podcast and on YouTube, and we talked about money mindset and we also discussed the different insecure attachment styles we may have with our business, and she also gave us some tips for moving towards a place of more confidence and a more secure attachment style so we can start charging what we’re worth, prioritizing and valuing our time, and really growing and scaling our businesses. I loved the conversation so much that I asked Amanda to do an additional 1-hour training just for Play Maker Society members, since every month they get their own advanced training that remains exclusive for members, and she generously agreed. And again while the full training is just for Play Maker Society members, there was ONE little nugget of knowledge that I have just not been able to stop thinking about. In just a few short weeks it’s flipped my cost-benefit analysis process and decision making process on it’s head. She said, when you have an opportunity to make an investment in your business, whether that’s a new tool or investing in a new skill or something similar, you should ask yourself, “Is this EXPENSIVE, or is it actually EXPANSIVE”? In this episode, I share how women entrepreneurs and stay-at-home-parents tend to chronically undervalue their time and we also forget to factor OPPORTUNITY COST into the cost-benefit analysis equation. Plus, I give tips on how to move away from this mindset as an indoor playground or play cafe owner. We have another recorded coaching call for you on the podcast today! Today we are talking to Sarah Kobin who is the owner of Sunshine Play Cafe in Kentucky. And while Sarah’s space is what I would consider “fully staffed”, meaning she has a team running the place without her needing to be there unless she wants to be, she is still feeling that overwhelm– because even just managing a team is a LOT, especially when a business is new- for everyone involved– for you, your staff, AND your customers. So today we are first going to talk to Sarah about continuing to delegate tasks in terms of what she should be delegating as well as how and when, we are getting into team management and reducing staff turnover by increasing her teams happiness level and overall satisfaction with their position. Next we get into my favorite app and system for task and project management, and how I manage my entire life– not just my business life- with ONE free tool and how I am able to loop my team and my spouse into that as well so we all can benefit and better our communication. We are also going to talk about her different revenue streams and where her focus should be, as well as some things that aren’t quite working out for her right now. We really get into troubleshooting some of her offerings and I think we end the call with some great conclusions and action items that I think Sarah will really like the results of once she tests them out.
