Patrick Halgren’s favorite part about alpine skiing is the connection between technique and speed: “You can’t fake fast.” After a devastating 2013 motorcycle accident that resulted in a left leg amputation, Patrick committed to a greater purpose—honoring his late twin brother, Lucas “Sven” Halgren, and pursuing Para alpine skiing at the highest level. Patrick rose through the U.S. ranks, was nominated to the Stifel U.S. Para Alpine Ski Team in 2021, and became a Paralympian (2022).
