Due to unforeseen circumstances, The OG Rampion Crew + Winter are trapped aboard the Rampion while a new pandemic outbreak plagues Earth. Jacin alone remains on Earth, working at a medical hospital while he studies to become a doctor. 

Each crew member is finding their own way to deal with the boredom: Carswell has created a podcast, Cress is inventing games, Iko and Wolf have started an ‘at home workout’’ platform, Scarlet is ‘watching 700 hours of tv’ like TS, Thorne as started his own podcast, Winter has taken up baking, and Kai and Cinder are trying to lead their countries from afar. 

TIMELINE: according to Marissa, this takes place after Wires and Nerves.

Thorne is disappointed to learn his ship has been repainted, but quickly remembers Kai's reminder about who the ship actually belongs to. In a rare moment of humility, Thorne reveals another side of himself, only to cover it quickly with sarcasm. 

Kai and Torin wait for Cinder and the crew to arrive, Kai with impatience and Torin with diplomacy. When the American Ambassador's ship needs a lift to Luna, Kai is less than hesitant to offer them a ride. As the glamours disappear, Cinder and Kai are reunited, but there's no time for pleasantries when they are about to invade Luna.

As Kai arrives home, Torin is happy to see him and eager to tell him his plans for defeating Luna. But when Kai wants to continue with his marriage arrangement with Levana, Torin is less than thrilled. 

Kai calls Levana and requests that the wedding now take place on Luna, to ensure no interference from Cinder and the Crew. Levana agrees, so long as the wedding can take place in ten days. But while Levana is ready to marry Kai and create an alliance with Earth, Kai has a different date in mind for their wedding.

Jacin and Winter walk the streets of Artemisia enjoying friendly conversation on their way to drop off an embroidered gift from Winter. Though Jacin is hesitant to reveal his true feelings for Winter, he is quick to react when three children offer her a gift.  But though Jacin sees the gift as inappropriate and dangerous, Winter thinks it is innocent and tells Jacin he is overreacting.

After much hesitation, Cinder is forced to admit, it's time to send Kai home.

As she readies the pod ship for their departure, Thorne and Kai say goodbye to the crew, and say goodbye until the wedding.

As the crew celebrates the return of Thorne’s eyesight, Cress remains uncertain of their connection, and Kai realizes they’ve run out of excuses for him to stay aboard the ship. Before Cinder can argue to keep Kai around, an attack on the palace steals her focus.
