The military has been brought to Washington DC. As soon as they arrived, someone figured out they were forgotten in that they didn't have a place to sleep or anything to eat. So, how could an administration floating in money with all the stimulus packages not even think about what they need for somebody who is so important to them as the Democrats. They think the national guard is very important to have around, yet they don't even think of where they will sleep, go to the lavatory, or eat. They didn't care. They are getting things in line now, but they didn't even think about at first. So, it leads us to the question: Do Democrats, by their nature, look down upon the military? TPA analyzes the situation in Atlanta involving Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old African American man, who was fatally shot dead by an Atlanta Police Department officer in June 2020. He was questioned by the police because he was sleeping in his car, and then he failed a breathalyzer text, managed to grab the taser of the officer handcuffing him, fired it at him, attempted to run, and was shot in the back. So, the incident starts with Brooks being confronted with the police officer for sleeping in his car and ends with him being shot. TPA contends that the penalty for sleeping one’s car should never be death and the penalty is not commensurate with the crime. Perhaps this a fault of the police training. An interesting segment on the fox network’s Tucker Carlson show aired last week about America being taken over by totalitarianism as a result of the coronavirus spreading throughout the US. Tucker Carlson through his various guests pointed out that the American governors of the various states have arrogated totalitarian rights to make the people of their states subservient to the directives of the governors’ offices. Let’s take a look at a partial recording or airing of this segment. My reaction is to concur with Tucker. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that the states or the federal government has a right to take the country albeit on an emergency basis into the state’s totalitarian behavior. So the question is: in the face of an emergency - and it’s debatable whether the coronavirus presents an emergency - does the government and the various states have the right to accrue to themselves the powers to control the citizenry, close businesses, close parks, self quarantine at home, and basically make people inactive or to make them do anything that the governor’s office deems they should do? | |||
