Taylor Swift's 'The End of an Era' Docu-Series: First Impressions15 Dec 202500:30:14

This week on The Overshare Pamphlet, I break down my first impressions of Taylor Swift’s new docu-series The End of an Era, released during her birthday week alongside the extended Eras Tour film.

I talk about what the series gets right — the scale, preparation, and emotional weight of the tour — and where it feels overly curated, repetitive, or hesitant to explore discomfort and burnout. I also share what I’m hoping to see in the remaining episodes.

Plus, Songs of the Week featuring Maisie Peters, Tate McRae, Tiffany Stringer, Daya, and more.

New episodes every Monday at 6 a.m. UK time.

Netflix x Warner Bros.: The Merger That Might Break Hollywood08 Dec 202500:30:33

This week on The Overshare Pamphlet, I’m diving into the wild news that Netflix has won the bid to buy Warner Bros. The deal isn’t government-approved yet, but the fallout has already started — and honestly, it could change Hollywood in some pretty alarming ways.

I break down how Warner Bros. ended up here, why Netflix wants this massive IP library so badly, and the huge antitrust concerns being raised by senators, unions, and major directors. I also get into what this merger could mean for theaters, smaller studios, streaming prices, and the future of movies as we know them.

You’ll also hear my Songs of the Week — from Demi Lovato to Jesse Jo Stark, Elle Coves, and yes… my full Michael Bublé era — plus a quick shoutout to this week’s sponsor, AKILA. I’m giving Spotify listeners an exclusive 1o% off their entire order. https://akila.la/discount/OVERSHAREPAMPHLET

Let me know your thoughts: Is Netflix buying Warner Bros. exciting, terrifying, or both?

This week we dive into the return of Cardi B with her long-awaited sophomore album Am I the Drama. After seven years since Invasion of Privacy, does it live up to the hype, or has the momentum faded? We break down the album’s highlights, misses, features, and whether Cardi still has the passion for music — or if her strength lies elsewhere.

We also talk about Taylor Swift’s bold new move: a theatrical event to launch her upcoming album. From AMC distribution deals to a behind-the-scenes look at her creative process, we explore how Taylor continues to redefine music promotion while laying the groundwork for her film ambitions.

Plus, quick takes on Jimmy Kimmel’s show being pulled indefinitely, Charlie Kirk’s assassination and its fallout, rising concerns of censorship under Trump’s administration, and Palestine’s recognition as a country.

Ep. 77 - Charlie Kirk, Political Violence, and the Rise of Anti-Establishment America17 Sep 202500:42:02

On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk — one of the most influential and controversial figures of America’s far-right politics — was fatally shot during a Turning Point USA debate event in Utah. His assassination has shocked the political world, sparking international reactions, renewed debates on gun violence, and, inevitably, a wave of conspiracies.

In this episode, we take a closer look at who Charlie Kirk was, why his death matters for U.S. politics, and how his legacy shapes the MAGA movement. We’ll explore the narratives emerging from both the left and right, including surprising claims from Kirk’s longtime ally Candace Owens, who is raising questions about the role of Netanyahu, Israel, and the U.S. government itself.

While many details remain unclear — and speculation continues to run wild — this episode asks what Kirk’s assassination reveals about America’s current political climate, the rise of anti-establishment sentiment, and the dangerous crossroads of ideology, misinformation, and violence.

Ep. 76 - Hollow Knight: Silksong Just Changed Indie Gaming Forever08 Sep 202500:35:34

This episode, I’m diving deep into my gaming bag and delivering what can only be described as an unnecessarily passionate TED Talk about a game franchise that’s finally made its long, long awaited return.

That’s right, my fellow indie game enthusiasts — Hollow Knight is back with its first official sequel: Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Often hailed as the king of indie 2D Metroidvania games, Silksong not only lives up to the hype — it blows past expectations in more ways than one. And let me tell you, the launch? It was nothing short of historic.

The anticipation was so intense that platforms like Steam and the Nintendo eShop literally crashed at launch. Players couldn’t buy or even download the game as servers buckled under the demand. Within just 45 minutes, Silksong hit over 100,000 concurrent players, peaking at more than half a million on day one. It shot to #10 on Steam’s most-played list and secured a spot as the 29th most played game of all time on the platform — on day one.

It also topped the sales charts on both Steam and the eShop.

And here’s the wildest part: this entire phenomenon was created by just three people. Yep — Team Cherry, a tiny indie studio, pulled all this off with a price point so reasonable, it’s putting major game publishers to shame.

Ep. 75 - Reacting to Taylor Swift's engagement and my review of Man's Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter01 Sep 202500:38:04

In this episode, we dive into Sabrina Carpenter’s highly anticipated follow-up to Short n’ Sweet — her new project Man’s Best Friend. Does it live up to the pop perfection of Espresso and Please Please? Not quite — but there’s still plenty to love. We break down the sonic shift from California soft rock to ABBA-inspired disco, the cheeky lyrics that made us double-take, and where this album hits (and misses). From the irresistible energy of Manchild and Tears to the hilarious brilliance of Goodbye, we go track by track and get real about what works, what doesn’t, and whether Sabrina’s still got the juice.

Plus, I share my honest take on Taylor Swift’s recent engagement — what it means for her songwriting, her lore, and how the internet is reacting (spoiler: it’s chaotic). Pop girlies, this one’s for you.

Ep. 74 - Rewind or Reset? Pop’s Weird Year So Far ft Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and Doja Cat25 Aug 202500:40:52

Today’s episode: As summer winds down and the absence of a true “song of the summer” becomes more apparent, it feels like the perfect moment to reflect on what has been a surprisingly underwhelming year for pop music. Despite high-profile returns from artists like Lorde, Sabrina Carpenter, The Weeknd, and Justin Bieber, none have managed to make a significant impact on the charts or the cultural zeitgeist. This trend points to the accelerating breakdown of the traditional pop monoculture.

But perhaps there’s more at play. With few artists committing fully to a “pure pop” sound, economic uncertainty pushing listeners toward nostalgic comfort in older music, and a general confusion about what the public actually wants right now, the genre seems caught in a moment of transition.

Still, there’s hope. The year isn’t over yet, and the final quarter of 2025 could deliver major moments, with anticipated releases from Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, and of course, Taylor Swift. So stay tuned—pop’s next big moment might be just around the corner.

Ep. 73 - The Life of a Showgirl - Taylor Swift is back to save the music industry 18 Aug 202500:40:11

In today’s episode, we’re diving into Taylor Swift’s upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which she officially announced this past week. I’ll start with a quick recap of what was shared in the announcement, along with some insights she revealed during her appearance on her boyfriend’s podcast.

For those who might not know, Taylor’s boyfriend is NFL star Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. The two have been publicly dating for a while now, and he recently launched a podcast where Taylor made a surprise appearance to talk about the new album.

Next, we’ll take a closer look at the tracklist and speculate on the themes and stories she might be exploring this time around. Finally, I’ll share my personal expectations and thoughts on what this album could bring.

Ep. 72 - Sydney Sweeney’s Jeans Fiasco: a lesson on conservative-pandering 04 Aug 202500:32:20

Today’s episode is all about Sydney Sweeney—how she went from being Hollywood’s rising bombshell to the internet’s newest cancel culture target. We’re diving into the backlash surrounding her latest American Eagle ad, which stirred up controversy for playing a little too closely with themes of genetics, beauty standards, and even eugenics.

We’ll also take a look back at her past controversies—from the MAGA hat photo to the bathwater soap—and ask: has Sydney been building toward this all along? Or did things just go a step too far?

And of course, we’ll be comparing her situation to Sabrina Carpenter’s recent media storm, and how both celebrities navigate fame, femininity, and political messaging very differently.

So, buckle up—this one’s layered.

Ep. 70 - So I went to the Lana Del Rey 2025 Stadium Tour...07 Jul 202500:30:06

Today’s Episode: I finally saw Lana Del Rey live—and let’s just say, she was predictably underwhelming. This isn’t a knock on her vocals or stage presence; those are intact. The real issue lies in the overall execution of the show. A surprisingly short setlist, the glaring absence of some of her most iconic and critically acclaimed songs, minimal stage design, and noticeable delays made the experience feel... phoned in.

Oddly enough, Addison Rae ended up being one of the few highlights, adding a bit of unexpected value to the night. And sure, Lana’s charm still radiates—but was that enough to justify the cost of a stadium tour ticket? Tune in to hear the full breakdown.

Reboots, Remakes, and the End of Risk: Streaming and its damaging effects on Hollywood 01 Dec 202500:37:02

In this week’s episode, I’m getting honest about something a lot of us are feeling: entertainment is starting to feel overwhelmingly mid. I break down why—from streaming platforms burying originality to Hollywood clinging to endless sequels, remakes, and nostalgia reboots. I talk about the industry’s growing fear of risk, how vertical integration has changed what we’re allowed to discover, and the rare films and shows that still manage to cut through the noise.

I also dig into a recent tweet that sent me spiraling back into this topic, plus a Guardian article that perfectly captures Hollywood’s current slump. And of course, I share my Songs of the Week—a mix of warm, summery tracks and new finds that have been living rent-free in my head.

Ep. 67 - Sabrina Carpenter and her upcoming album 'Man's Best Friend' controversial cover art 16 Jun 202500:40:08

Today’s episode: Sabrina Carpenter has caught everyone off guard with the announcement of her new studio album, dropping just a year after her hugely successful project Short n Sweet. But the reveal hasn’t come without controversy — specifically around the album’s cover art and its provocative, sexual imagery. The internet is buzzing with heated debates on feminism, sexuality, and objectification, all circling back to one big question: Has Sabrina pushed the boundaries too far this time? Stick around to hear my take on this controversy, my thoughts on her upcoming era, and insights from her recent Rolling Stone interview.

Ep. 65 - Welcoming Pope Leo XIV, New Music by PinkPantheress and Kali Uchis and more14 May 202500:38:19

Today’s Episode: This one’s a bit of a mixed bag, as I’ll be covering a few different topics that aren’t necessarily connected—but all worth talking about.

First up, let’s discuss the new pope: Pope Leo XIV. He’s stepping into a massive role, following the impactful legacy of Pope Francis. I’ll be sharing my initial thoughts on him, what the internet’s saying, and what message I think the Church is trying to send with this new leader.

Then, I’m diving into two recent album releases: Sincerely, by Kali Uchis, and Fancy That, by PinkPantheress. These two couldn’t be more different—Kali’s album offers dreamy vocals and lush, whimsical production, perfect for mellow moods. Meanwhile, PinkPantheress takes us straight to the club with a high-energy, UK garage- and house-inspired album full of catchy bangers.

I also break down a few standout new singles from other artists, all of which made it into my Playlist of the Month.

Tune in for all this and more.

Ep. 64 - My Review of 'Thunderbolts*' and Defending KATSEYE's new song 'Gnarly'05 May 202500:51:07

Today's Episode: It’s finally time for the MCU to find its footing again — and Thunderbolts might just be the spark it needed. This film is easily one of the most refreshing and meaningful entries the MCU has released in a long while. With sharp writing, a deeply emotional core, stunning cinematography, and thrilling action, Thunderbolts delivers exactly what both fans and critics have been craving: a superhero movie with sophistication and nuance, free from the usual clichés and genre fatigue.

Also on today’s agenda: I’m here to defend the new KATSEYE release — a chaotic, purposefully jarring hyperpop track that’s so strange... it borders on brilliance. Tune in for the full breakdown and my unfiltered thoughts.

Today’s episode: Summer 2025 is fast approaching, and while Coachella and other major festivals have already kicked off the season, we’re still waiting for that undeniable hit to take over the charts. Unlike last year, the Billboard Hot 100 remains dominated by 2024 holdovers — but that could be about to change. From Lorde and Lana Del Rey to Doja Cat and beyond, I’m diving into which artists are most likely to drop the breakout track that defines summer and breathes new life into this year’s music scene. Ep. 62 - Sinners by Ryan Coogler (Review)21 Apr 202500:28:35

Today’s episode: Ryan Coogler’s latest film Sinners—widely seen as his breakthrough project—has finally arrived in theaters, and I’m here to share my review and first impressions.

Sinners is a bold, genre-spanning film that blends elements of drama, horror, and the supernatural. At times, this mix comes together beautifully; at others, it can feel a bit disjointed, leaving the viewer with a sense of genre whiplash. Still, the film stands out for its strong political and cultural commentary, offering a powerful exploration of the Black experience in 1930s America.

What’s most impressive is how Sinners balances its thought-provoking themes with genuinely captivating storytelling. The horror and supernatural elements are striking and effective, keeping the tension high throughout.

In short, this is a film with wide appeal—it speaks to history, culture, and social issues while also delivering gripping entertainment. Tune in for the full review and a closer look at what makes Sinners such a compelling watch

Wicked For Good: My Full Review of Wicked: Part Two24 Nov 202500:45:37

In this week’s episode of The Overshare Pamphlet, I’m finally back after a short break, and I couldn’t wait to sit down and talk about one of the year’s biggest releases: Wicked: Part Two — Wicked For Good.

This film picks up right where Part One left off, adapting the second half of the original stage musical—and it’s definitely the darker, sadder, and more emotionally complicated half. I get into why this chapter hits harder, how Glinda and Elphaba’s stories evolve, and the way the movie leans into themes like truth, propaganda, revolution, power, and moral ambiguity.

I also break down how the tone, pacing, and structure differ from Part One, whether splitting the story really paid off, and yes… I even compare it to the Avengers two-part structure because honestly, it fits. And of course, I talk about the performances—Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, and the rest of the cast—plus the box office expectations and how loyal the film stays to the stage version.

I wrap things up with Songs of the Week, including a few nostalgic favorites for Thanksgiving and some new picks.

If you’ve already seen Wicked: Part Two—or you’re planning to—this episode is the perfect companion. Tune in, let me know what you think, and don’t forget to check out the Spotify playlist!

Both ‘So Close To What,’ Tate’s third studio album, and ‘Alter Ego,’ Lisa’s first full-length album, share a striking similarity in sound and draw inspiration from the same sources. Today's episode: it's time to talk about the US presidential elections and Trump's astonishing sweep that has left the entire world in full shock and confusion. I will be sharing my thoughts on how this may have happened by looking at how the demographics of these elections have changed compared to 2020. On a more positive and less heavy note, I am also going to be reacting to the 2025 Grammy Nominations and I will be trying to predict who is going to win each of the major awards.

Ep. 41 - Liam Payne, Disturbing Cyberbullying and Kpop Drama - Seunghan and RIIZE 21 Oct 202400:44:06

Today's episode: today we are getting into some very serious topics. First off I will be addressing the very tragic passing of Liam Payne of One Direction as well as the very disgusting behaviour of many people online commenting on this matter. This is sort of a way of exploring the dark side of cyberbullying that knows no limits, not even in front of the death of a person. Cyberbullying is also another crucial element of the recent events surrounding Seunghan of RIIZE and the gap between Korean and Western Kpop fans. Buckle up for more Kpop drama, as I will also be briefly covering Hanni (from NewJeans)'s speech against bullying in the work place.

Welcome back to The Overshare Pamphlet! Today, we’re diving deep into the best albums of 2025 (so far).

I know, I know… it’s early to be talking “Album of the Year” contenders, but the music nerd in me couldn’t resist. From Lorde’s Virgin to Addison Rae’s debut, Doja Cat’s ‘80s R&B experiment to Lady Gaga’s triumphant MAYHEM, I’m ranking my top 10 projects that defined this year in sound, vision, and pure vibes.

We’ll talk about standout tracks, creative risks, and why some albums hit harder than others — plus, a few predictions for Grammy season. Whether you’re into K-pop innovation, cinematic R&B, or chaotic pop perfection, this list has something for you.

Grab your headphones, maybe a can of Aspire (shoutout to our sponsor!), and let’s rank, rave, and overanalyze — because that’s what we do best.
