| 162: The Dangers of Credit Card Debt (and a tool that can help) with the CEO of Sequin, Vrinda Gupta | 08 Aug 2024 | 01:11:51 | |
Have you gotten yourself into financial trouble in the past becuase of over extending yourself using a credit card? If you have, you're not alone. Knowing how to use credit cards as a beneficial tool is a game (that many of us are never taught), and each of us needs to determine if we know the rules to the credit card game and if we feel like we can follow the rules well to win the game. For some people, credit cards (when used well) can be an amazing tool to build credit and score cash back, miles, travel perks, and purchase protection. For others, credit cards are more of a temptation and cause more financial damage than any perks are worth.

| 72: Your Spending Self-Concept | 22 Feb 2022 | 00:28:34 | |
What do you believe to be true about you? The thoughts that you think about yourself are the most important thoughts you think because they form your self-concept. Our self-concept feeds how confident, worthy, and capable we feel when it comes to managing our money at the highest level and it's constantly either working for you or against you. The truth is, you are a self-fulfilling prophecy. The thoughts that you think about yourself will come true through the way we are designed as human beings. Whatever you think about, you will bring about. This is why your self-concept when it comes to your finances and your spending is so important. It is the beginning and end of every financial result you create. In this episode of The Money Love Podcast we're talking about one of the most underappreciated yet most impactful thought work concepts there is, your self-concept. In this episode, we explore what your spending self-concept is, the most common self-concept of overspenders, why your self-concept matters, how it always ends up proving itself true, and how to form a positive self-concept that serves you in creating the financial results you desire. This episode will show you the importance of the thoughts you think about the most important person in your world, yourself. Enjoy!

| 71: The Spending Shame Cycle | 15 Feb 2022 | 00:35:25 | |
Have you ever felt ashamed over a past money decision you've made? Maybe you bought an item impulsively, you spent money you didn't have resulting in debt, or you bought an item you didn't get any use out of. If you've felt shame about your past spending choices you're not alone. Shame is a deep-rooted and prevalent emotion that keeps us trapped in secrecy and judgment and if not dealt with properly keeps us from reaching our full financial potential. In this episode of The Money Love Podcast we're talking about a concept I call the spending shame cycle that keeps us stuck financially and repeating practiced spending behaviors that don't serve us in the long run. We explore the areas of our finances where shame is most prevalent, the difference between shame and guilt, where shame comes from, the four phases of the spending shame cycle, why it's so difficult for us to break out of and the process we can go through to lessen the grip that shame has within our finances and over our life. If shame is an emotion you feel is prevalent within your relationship with money this episode is one that will be an absolute game-changer. Enjoy!

| 70: Money Well Spent | 08 Feb 2022 | 00:34:53 | |
What's the best money you've ever spent? A time when you spent your money on an item, service, or experience where you felt good spending the money in the moment and you still felt amazing about the purchase a week, month, or year later? This is what I call "money well spent". Money that is spent where the value or result that you get from what you bought is more valuable to you than the money that you spent to acquire it. My ultimate goal is to help you align your spending so that most, if not all, of the money that you spend is money well spent.
This week on The Money Love Podcast we're diving into four ways that you can spend your money that are scientifically proven to boost your happiness and satisfaction levels. These "money well spent" categories work because they touch on core needs and desires that we have as human beings like self-love and connection with others. If you want to feel happier, your money is a tool that can deliver that happiness to you. This will be an episode you don't want to miss. Enjoy!

| 69: Consumer Culture Is Lying To You | 01 Feb 2022 | 00:30:20 | |
You're being lied to. Every day, each of us consumes false messages from consumer culture that are fundamentally untrue. These messages have one goal and objective, which is to get you to spend your money on things that you don't really need in order to create an emotional state you deeply desire. The lies of consumer culture are everywhere, and they run deep in our programming in how we think about money and ultimately, the purchasing decisions that we make.
In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast, we are diving into the lies of consumer culture. We explore three primary beliefs and foundational principles that consumer culture wants you to believe and adopt, ultimately so that you will spend more money and acquire more things in accordance with their agenda instead of your own. This episode will be one that will open your eyes and increase your awareness of your environment so that you can gain back control, and spend your money in a way that reflects your unique values and pursuits instead of the values and agenda of consumer culture. Enjoy!

| 68: Finding Balance With Your Money | 18 Jan 2022 | 00:34:19 | |
Your brain is not wired for balance. Your brain is wired for polarization. Your brain loves black and white all or nothing thinking and in all aspects of life, your brain wants you to pick a side and to not entertain that the opposite could be true. This is what quiets the cognitive dissonance between possibilities and creates the certainty that your brain is always seeking. This is even true in the way that we think about money which becomes problematic because when you're not thinking about money in a balanced way, you will not have an emotional experience with money that is balanced which means you won't manage your finances in a balanced way. You will live in the extremes, in the all or nothing, which closes you off to new possibilities and reaching your highest potential.
In this week of The Money Love Podcast we're talking all about balance and how to create it within your finances. We start with exploring why achieving balance in life is so difficult and why our brain fights balance, how so much of the common money messages we absorb don't promote balance, and the steps that we can take to create a more balanced mental, emotional, and tactical management style with our money. Enjoy!

| 67: Why I'm Not Setting Any Goals in 2022 | 11 Jan 2022 | 00:38:49 | |
For the first time in a long time, I'm starting out a new year without any goals I'm working towards. I decided that I'm going to try something completely different in 2022. The truth is, I set some big, scary, crazy goals in 2021 and I didn't come anywhere close to hitting most of them. Like, I missed the mark big time. And then, I used missing the mark as a reason to beat myself up and I felt like a failure in so many ways. Now, I know I'm not alone here. In fact, only 9% of people actually achieve their New Year's resolutions each year. For most of us (myself included) we enter each year with exciting goals but by February 1 the pursuit of those goals is long gone and we're left feeling discouraged and disappointed in ourselves.
In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast I'm breaking down the inherent issues that we run into with the goal-setting process and I'm explaining why I'm confident 2022 will be my best year yet without any goals leading the way. In this episode we're going to discuss why I'm not setting goals in 2022, the misunderstanding about goals that leads to abandonment, the secret behind creating any result you want in your finances, what I'm focusing on in 2022 instead of striving towards goals, and why I'm confident 2022 will be my best year ever without goals. | 66: Intentional Thought Creation | 21 Dec 2021 | 00:39:40
Do you create your thoughts on purpose? Or do you let your thoughts run on default and be based on past programming that isn't serving you? The sad reality is that most people don't realize that the quality of their thoughts will determine the quality of their lives and are the catalyst of every result they desire to create. Many adults live in a state of emotional childhood, attributing their emotions to their financial circumstances, and because of this they don't realize the importance of their thoughts and as a result, they never practice the life-changing practice of intentional thought creation.
In this week of The Money Love Podcast, we're talking all about the process of intentional thought creation and why it matters. I also walk you through the 4-step process of intentional thought creation that will enable you to reach your full financial potential. The message of this episode is simple: You either learn to control your thoughts, or your thoughts will control you. One path leads to you creating and living an extraordinary life, and the other will lead to a life of repeated underwhelming results. There is no result that is off the table for you to create because there is no thought that you cannot think and perfect with the process of intentional thought creation. Enjoy!

| 65: Pure Financial Circumstances | 14 Dec 2021 | 00:38:51 | |
What would happen if you stripped away all the judgements, all the opinions, all the interpretations from your finances and you evaluated your current financial situation simply by the facts and the numbers? Doing this brings you into a place I call your pure financial circumstances, which ultimately is a place to rest from and escape the never-ending emotions, judgments and opinions we place on our financial situation.
In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast we're talking all about a coaching topic that can be a game-changer, which is the pure financial circumstance. It's the practice of evaluating your finances by the pure facts. When we can do this, we can give ourselves a reprieve from the negative emotion we often feel around our finances. We can find temporary peace in the neutrality, because neutrality is the safe space between negative and positive. Between suffering and success. It's only when we accept the neutrality of our situation that we give ourselves the opportunity to rewrite our story and intentionally create thoughts that help us create the financial results we most desire. Enjoy!

| 161: Why You Should Strive To Be Self-Centered with Master Coach & Author, Hilary Silver | 06 Aug 2024 | 00:51:59 | |
Do you view being self-centered as a good or a bad thing? Many of us (especially women) have been conditioned to be selfless rather than being self-centered. We have learned that others come first and we come last. That the needs and preferences of others always outweigh our own. But often what this creates is a reality where you not only deprioritize yourself, you move so far away from yourself that you don't even have a true sense of who you really are anymore. The solution to finding yourself again? Becoming more self-centered.
In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast Paige is having an eye opening and empowering conversation with Master Coach and Author, Hilary Silver all about why you should strive to be self-centered. They discuss what being self-centered actually means, why your suffering isn't noble, the role that your identity and worthiness play in your self-centeredness and the secrets to creating a life that you love to live. This is a value-packed conversation that you don't want to miss. Enjoy!

Does your spouse's spending choices drive you crazy? Or maybe they make you scratch your head in confusion with what they choose to spend money on? If this sounds like you, you're not alone. The truth is, most couples don't have similar or even complimentary money backgrounds and personalities which can lead to differences in spending, saving, and earning choices. The good news is, these differences don't have to lead to division within your relationship. In fact, these differences can be used as a unique opportunity to understand each other on a deeper level and deepen the financial intimacy between the two of you.
In this week of The Money Love Podcast we're talking all about your spouse's or partners spending and money choices. I walk you through three impactful coaching concepts that will help you shift out of criticism of your partner and into curiosity with their financial choices. These are three coaching concepts that have helped me tremendously and that I have applied to my own relationship that has brought my husband and I closer together, and I know they have the power to do the same within your relationships. | 63: Material Wealth vs. Emotional Wealth | 30 Nov 2021 | 00:41:17
What is the correlation that you make between your material wealth and your emotional wealth? Do you believe that one is dependent on the other? That in order to reach the highest levels of emotional wealth you must also achieve immense amounts of material wealth? The strong and positive correlation between material and emotional wealth is one of the most prominent, yet most damaging beliefs that we have about money. The problem is, it's a belief that is widely socialized and deeply believed in the consumer culture that we live in. This means that so many people strive for material wealth in an attempt to achieve emotional wealth, only to be confused and disappointed when they realize that one does not guarantee the other. On this episode of The Money Love Podcast, we are discussing material wealth vs emotional wealth. We explore what each is and what it looks like, the correlation between the two (if any), which one should be the priority, and 4 principles that you can apply to make emotional wealth a priority. This will absolutely be an episode that challenges you to think in a new way that will help you avoid one of the most dangerous traps and lies that consumer culture tries to sell us. Enjoy!

Do you ever feel like you can't stop spending money? That you spend money without much second thought or consideration? If you do, you're not alone. Are you a sucker for a sale? Do you feel like you struggle to say "no" when you're presented with a deal? If so, you're not alone. Many women struggle with resisting the temptation of a sale because we are constantly exposed to them coupled with the fact that our brains are wired to be enticed by sales. Because of this we often are making purchasing decisions that are more about "winning" and snagging the deal rather than the value we are receiving from the item. On this episode of The Money Love Podcast, we are kicking off a new series called Why We Buy where we evaluate the "why" (aka the psychology) behind why we do what we do with our money decisions. We are starting with why we struggle to resist a sale and what's happening in our brains that make it so hard to walk away. We will be diving into the psychology and also how to recognize if you're taking advantage of the sale or if the sale is taking advantage of you. | 59: Financial Self-Care | 02 Nov 2021 | 00:36:45
When you think of self-care, what do you think of? Consumer culture wants to tell us that self-care looks like bubble baths, massages, naps, manicures, and massages. In reality, these are often activities that we self-sabotage with because they provide distractions from our emotions, they don't solve the underlying problem we're facing and they end up moving us farther away from the desired result we are working to create. Contrary to popular belief, self-care doesn't always feel good.
In this episode of The Money Love Podcast we are diving into the topic of self-care. We talk about how our consumeristic culture defines self-care and how that differs from a truer and healthier form of self-care. We then dive deep into four different types of self-care and how those can be applied to your financial management so that you're reaching your full financial potential. Self-sabotage is actions that we take that move us farther away from a desired state or actions that we avoid that would move us closer to that desired state. The great news is, self-sabotage is something that is within our control and can be stopped. But, knowing that this is within our control, how do we stop the vicious spiral of disrupting our progress towards our goals and dreams? | 51: Sinking Funds | 07 Sep 2021 | 00:37:38
Sinking Funds are one of my favorite financial tools you can use to take your finances to the next level as they are smaller pools of money that you save up gradually over time for larger expenses you know are coming your way. When you utilize sinking funds as part of your overall financial strategy you are being proactive rather than reactive. You are doing what is in the financial best interest of your future self instead of doing what feels good in the moment. You're gaining control over your money instead of your money gaining control over you. They are the ultimate tool in eliminating surprises and frustration with your finances. In the episode of The Money Love Podcast, we are diving deep into the topic of sinking funds: what they are, the benefits of having them, how to identify which sinking funds you need, how to determine how much to contribute to each, and lastly, how to keep them organized and manage them practically day-to-day. If you're wanting to start and manage sinking funds within your financial plan this is the episode for you. Enjoy!

| 50: 125 Days Without Eating Out | 31 Aug 2021 | 00:37:00 | |
If you're someone who feels like they need to reign in the amount you spend on food, particularly eating out, this episode is for you. Earlier this year I went 125 consecutive days without eating out one single time. Prior to that, I was eating out 5-7 times a week on average. Although the decision to do this wasn't financially motivated, it absolutely made a big difference in my finances with the money I was able to save each month not eating out on a consistent basis. In the episode of The Money Love Podcast, we are talking about eating out and how to do less of it so that you can put money back into your pocket so that it can go to other purposes. I share with you the story of the 125 day eating-out hiatus and my biggest tips for creating this result. Whether you just want to cut back eating out a little bit, a lot or completely all together this episode will help you create that result. Trust me when I say that I blew my own mind with this one. Going a solid 4 months without eating out is a result I never thought I'd be able to create, but I did and I'm sharing how I made this goal a reality. Enjoy!

When was the last time you let yourself be bored? Usually, when we feel boredom coming on, we frantically look for something to entertain or occupy us, and oftentimes that involves spending money in an unplanned and impulsive way. Boredom is an emotion within our culture that is greatly misunderstood and so many are using the boredom they feel as a weapon against themselves. I tell you how to intentionally practice being bored and how to stop trying to outrun it and also how to shift the actions that come from boredom from consuming to creating. This is an episode that will challenge you to think of this common emotion in an entirely new way and in a way that starts to help your bank account rather than hurt it. Let's dive in!

| 47: The Power of Questions | 10 Aug 2021 | 00:25:04 | |
Questions are one of the most powerful, yet underrated tools that we have at our disposal. Questions open our minds to possibility and creativity. They challenge us to question the mundane and see things in a new way. Everything that has ever been created or imagined, started as a question that someone set out to answer. Questions are a tool that can change your life, for better or for worst. Unfortunately, most people use questions in a way that hurts them rather than helps them. They ask questions of themselves that are soaked in negativity and limiting beliefs and their brains go to work in finding evidence that those beliefs are true, which only ends up keeping them stuck. In this episode of The Money Love Podcast we are diving into one of my favorite tools, asking powerful questions. We are talking about why questions are so powerful, how our brains are wired to answer them, and how to ask more empowering and inspiring questions that will provide you with creative and inspiring answers to propel you forward in both your finances and in your life in general. This is a life-changing concept that has helped me in so many areas of my life, and I can't wait to add it to your mental tool belt as well. Let's dive in!

| 159: The Power of "No" | 30 Jul 2024 | 00:39:17 | |
What's your relationship with the word "no"? Do you view saying "no" as the thing that is keeping you from living the life you want? Does the version of happiness and financial freedom that your striving for look like being able to say "yes" to everything? If so, this could mean that you need to re-examine your relationship with the word "no" so that you can start seeing the power in saying "no" more often. When we start saying "no" more than we say "yes", we start creating space in our lives for the things that matter most to us. Saying "no" isn't about deprivation and restriction. It's a powerful stance that is an act of prioritization and alignment.
Join me in this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast where we are exploring the power behind the word "no". Paige is breaking down why we have such a negative reaction to saying "no" to things, why saying "no" is so hard, and she's offering 5 powerful perspective shifts around the word "no" so that by the end of the episode you will have dropped the resistance you feel towards the word "no" and you will be looking for areas of your life where you can be saying it more. In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast, we are exploring the topic of instant versus delayed gratification. | 37: The Price of People-Pleasing | 23 Mar 2021 | 00:41:02
When we people please our way through life we are being dishonest with ourselves and with others. Ultimately, we lie about and hide our true thoughts and desires so that people will see us in a certain way and we end up putting forth a version of ourselves that is inauthentic and building relationships that are built on falsehood. There is a huge price to pay for people-pleasing. It costs you opportunity by saying "no" to things you want to be saying "yes" to. It costs you time by saying "yes" to the things you want to say "no" to. And then there is the literal cost of people-pleasing with the money that you spend trying to appease another person and manipulate how they feel about you. In this episode of The Money Love Podcast, we talk about why as women we feel the strong need to people please, explore what it's costing you, and go through four tools and mindset shifts that you can implement in your life so you can stop people-pleasing and paying the high price that comes with it.
