I spoke with Mary who was in Colby, a small village in the UK about her experiences living life OUTCAN.  We had this conversation in March 2021 and there is a lot of good information in it for anyone who is thinking or is living in a remote OUTCAN in the UK.

Riga, Latvia is  a place I haven't had a chance to visit while I have been OUTCAN  - but friends have told me what a wonderful place it is with an amazing history.  Melissa shares her enthusiasm for Riga where she has lived for the last two years.  She has some good tips for any OUTCAN but gives a great insight to what life in Riga is like.  Melissa has asked that I note that in our talk she mentions Art Deco buildings, when she was actually referring to Art Nouveau buildings.

Le Luxembourg est un petit pays européen bordé par la Belgique, la France et l'Allemagne. The City of London is an amazing place to visit – I have taken advantage of being a Eurostar trip away and gone to visit the city every few months until travel stopped.  I have always wondered what it would be like to live there,  and was able to get some insight through Eric’s descriptions. The tiny country of Luxembourg is not what springs to mind when you think of Canadian Armed Forces  postings outside of Canada.  I was fortunate to be able to sit with Brigitte  and talk about what her OUTCAN Experiences have been like.  Brigitte is veteran OUTCAN family member as she is on her third OUTCAN posting in Europe.  She is currently in Luxembourg but spent time in Germany and Italy on previous postings.  She shares with us what life in Luxembourg is like as well as some general advice on living the OUTCAN Experience. 
I definitely want to visit Luxembourg again and checkout some of her recommendations for things to do!

Welcome to OUTCAN Experience Season Two!

This trailer introduces our new co-host Émilie Tremblay and kicks off the podcast's partnership with Military Family Services (Europe).  We are going be featuring Canadian military family members in the different locations across Europe - having them talk about life is like where they live.

This episode focusses on OUTCAN travels to Iceland, Switzerland and France with three different families.  I interviewed Krysta and Jenn about their trips and then inspired by their stories, our family rented a camper van and travelled to Normandy and Brittany.  This episode includes:

• Travels to Normandy and Brittany ( with my husband so the interview is kind of all over the place...) 

Some of the interviews were outside so there is a bit of background noise - hopefully not too distracting.
