Happy Hanksgiving, everyone! Like a true podcast family, we invited Thomas from Almost Plausible back to talk about a Tom Hanks film that, basically, no one has seen! What? Does the plot of an American soldier who falls in love with a Jewish woman in Mandatory Palestine not appeal to you?? This is one of Hank's earlier roles coming fresh off of Splash! We learned many things, mostly why this movie has so much Spanish and that dating someone during a world war can be challenging, to say the least.

Finally, the long-awaited reboot of The Crow is here! Can the guy who played Pennywise live up to Brandon Lee's iconic role? The trailers didn't look promising, as they seemed to have swapped out fun goth for emo goth, but maybe that could work! Perhaps the new focus on The Crow's actual love interest, played by FKA twigs, would give a much-needed perspective shift in what is usually a gross and gory murder fest. Smear that tattoo ink below your eyes, put on your headphones, and find out if this movie actually deserved to become a box office bomb.

No other movie we've watched for Streisand on the Beach was on the Criterion channel until Funny Girl! This is the big movie. Streisand's breakout moment. She stars as a woman who wants to be a singer and a comedian! But back in the '20s, women were only supposed to look a certain way and be pretty. She does it, though, with the help of her friend and potential lover, Omar Sharif. I don't feel like I'm selling you on this movie, but Barbera has unbelievable charisma in this movie, which is impossible to describe.

It's pretty cold this time of year, wouldn't you like the be Under The Tuscan Sun? Well, Diane Lane is in Italy to recover from a devastating divorce. This movie is about trying to move on from the catastrophic loss of a long-term relationship. Mostly by buying a Tuscan villa against your better judgment and by banging handsome Italian men. Come listen for some humorous vibes!

Happy New Year it's time to watch a sequel to a movie we've never seen Arthur 2: On The Rocks! It's 1988 and playboy millionaires are in. Aren't they so cute? They have so much money and don't know what to do with it. Now, what if they suddenly wanted to have a baby, but someone doesn't like that and takes all of their money away? Let's have some empathy for those born with a silver spoon in their mouth. They're just so helpless! Oh also Liza Minelli is here trying her best as a non-wealthy person.

Violent Night is the first action movie that no one can argue if it's a Christmas movie or not! Starring David Harbour as the real Santa, John Leguizamo and his criminal friends try to rob a rich family of their Christmas and their money. And they may have gotten away with it if they didn't happen to plan the heist on Christmas Eve when Santa may have been around. A Violent Night follows indeed.

A Christmas Story Christmas is not actually the first sequel to A Christmas Story, but it is the first sequel to get a majority of the original cast together. What will Ralphie do now that the old man has passed? Will he get a brand new writing deal for his sci-fi epic? Will he be able to save Christmas?! Come have a listen and let's see just how far nostalgia can go.

In a land full of boring cliche Christmas movies, Menorah in the Middle decides to be different by being a boring cliche Hanukkah movie. This movie is one of the most poorly produced movies we've watched for the podcast, even by holiday movie standards. Even Sara Silverman doesn't want to have her name on this monstrosity. The movie fluctuates between a fever dream and a movie where you wonder if the main character's fiance Chad is going to at some point become a serial killer. Hulu, what are you doing??!

One Magic Christmas is actually the darkest Christmas tale yet. If you haven't heard of this movie you have to listen to believe it. Imagine a sinister It's a Wonderful Life where the lesson is you should actually participate in capitalism carefree and regardless of your financial stature. What a way to start off the holiday month.

Hachi: A Dog's Tale never was released in American theaters, but was instead relegated to the Hallmark channel because of how sad the movie is. Richard Gere got the deal of a lifetime when he made a movie all about playing with a cute dog! He doesn't even really have to act much. Other people are in it too including Jason Alexander and three different dogs. Three different dogs play Hachi in the many stages of this dog's tale. Also, A Dog's Tale is way better than the title "A Dog's Purpose", because of the excellent pun.

As Pinocchio experts AND because it's the season of Hanksgiving, we had to check out Disney's live-action remake of Pinocchio made just for Disney Plus! This adheres closely to the original Disney animated feature, but with a few key changes and some extra scenes. In fact, the ending is widely different, maybe even for the better! Does that matter though when the actual film looks like garbage?

It's our 400th episode so let's watch a famous depressing movie with the same number in it, The 400 Blows! François Truffaut was hugely influential in the 50s and we can see why. Also, he had a cameo in Close Encounters From Outer Space! How much more influential could you get? Ethan watched this movie ages ago but doesn't remember anything. Maybe instead of having to watch it for school and now just watching half of it for a podcast, he'll finally appreciate it more!

Strictly Ballroom is one of Baz Lurhmann's first movies and it's maybe his most tame one yet. That being said it still feels like everyone in this movie is a cartoon character. It's so over the top even if the storyline is pretty straightforward forward it still has that Baz signature touch of insanity.

We're continuing Streisand on the Beach with the hit musical flop Hello Dolly! This movie had a massive budget and barely made any money at all. But is it just because musicals were falling out of fashion? Or was it because maybe the movie itself isn't noteworthy? Most importantly, we want to find out if Barbera was the problem or the solution to this movie.

Sure Halloween is over, but I'm pretty sure Elvira allows Halloween all year long! In this episode we watch Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, basically PeeWee's big adventure but for horny goths. Will this horror comedy hold up? Or will it signal that Halloween should have stayed back in October?

We close out 2022's Halloween Spooktacular with Cam! A horror movie about sex work and performance online. What if you built up a massive following on Twitter, YouTube, or Twitch and suddenly someone stole your identity, and your online life and all of your followers were none-the-wiser? See that's pretty scary. Especially if no one believed that it happened. How could they?? Now imagine you were a cam girl and the only people who may believe you are gross men. That's the true horror.

You think you're out of hell, but Hulu's Hellraiser dragged us back. As we're now expert Hellraiser watchers after suffering through 10 movies, 9 of which you can find on this podcast feed, we had to watch the latest reboot of the series to see if it is anywhere near as good as the originals. We're extremely excited to dive into a Hellraiser movie that Clive Barker actually approves of. In fact, this is one of our longest episodes. We know y'all crave that sweet sweet cenobite content.

Chucky is back! Child's Play 2 is here and the boys are excited to watch the sequel to last year's surprise hit horror podcast episode, Child's Play. Not only is Chucky back, but also Andy is back and has a new friend Ryan! Andy's mom is not back though... because she's in an asylum. RIP.

The Head Hunter starts off our Halloween Spooktacular! A quiet minimalist horror movie epic fantasy that is absolutely dripping in atmosphere. The reason it's minimalist is that its budget is almost as tiny as Paranormal Activity. Grab a hot cup of cocoa and turn down the lights as the boys describe a horror movie from the same director as Thankskilling.

Nothing is more pure '90s than Hackers. Maybe the way the tech is used isn't accurate, but somehow Hackers nailed the culture of how nerds see themselves. Angelina Jolie and Matthew Lillard team up with this white guy named Zero Cool to take out the EVIL hacker who just wants to steal money from banks. Maybe they were on the wrong side.

Zero Hour! is the inspiration for the hit comedy movie Airplane! Zero Hour! was a weird choice to parody, because it basically vanished from the public consciousness. So much so that going back from Airplane!, which holds a special place in many people's hearts, and watching Zero Hour! for the first time is an absolute trip.

A Writer's Odyssey is another test for Mike to see if he actually likes fantasy movies. This movie is from China and follows the path of a man who has been sent to assassinate a writer. The thing is, whatever the writer writes, it starts to come to life in the real world! This is a massive big-budget epic, that only came out in 2021.

In this sequel month episode, we check out another reboot from the '80s, Top Gun: Maverick! This is the last episode so we hope Tom Cruise isn't a little stinker and ruins the movie! Well, I already know the answer because I am writing this after I edited the podcast, but you, my dear listener, have to listen to find out!

Where do we fall on this film? David Fincher hated working on this movie, but he does make a few wild choices with the character Ripley. There's only one way to find out if this film can be saved.

In this movie, adult Simba is a real bigot and it will take his daughter and Scar's "son" to teach him that maybe he shouldn't be a piece of garbage.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the first true sequel we've had to the Ghostbusters franchise in a while. This time, kids are the focus instead of dry and sarcastic adults busting ghosts. They took a more family-friendly approach, but also still retained some element of scariness. It's an interesting interpretation of the Ghostbuster mythos that both Ethan and Mike only sort of know. Let's get a little nostalgic eh? Also, let's see if this new movie is any good. Hop into your Ecto-cooler-1 and take a ride with us!

Men in Black: International is a reboot sequel to the famous movie, Men in Black and it's the perfect way to kick off our Sequel Month! This time we got Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson, and Kumail Nanjiani. Sound like the cast of a Marvel movie right? It's clear this is an attempt to reboot a movie series into a franchise everyone can love. Marvel did it why can't Men in Black? Aliens are great! The boys dive in and see if this movie is the first good sequel to the original Men in Black.

Slap Shot is a cult comedy movie about hockey directed by George Roy Hill (The Sting) and stars Paul Newman. The jokes from a movie made in the 1970s have aged like milk, but maybe there's something underneath the surface. Maybe this violent movie has something to say about toxic masculinity, violence as entertainment, and homophobia? Have a listen to find out!

Falling Down walked so Joker could run. This is the original white guy who gets upset at society movie. One day Micheal Douglas just snaps and goes on a rampage in downtown LA. This Joel Schumacher movie was a big hit in theaters back in 1993, but does it hold up today?

17 Again is Zac Efron's big new movie from 10 years ago! This is when he wanted to be taken seriously as a serious actor and honestly, he kinda nails it. This movie could have been so much worse than it actually was.

The poster of LadyHawke may be more memorable than this box office bomb. Although Mike has a pretty big confession to make in this podcast.

We bring Summer Screaming to a close with Lake Placid. It's a movie about a giant crocodile that made it to Maine. It's a miracle of nature! But it did kill some people, so maybe they should kill it. Or capture it to study it! Either way, this weird little cast of characters will all come together and deal with the aftermath of what Betty White has caused. Yes, that's right, Betty White and crocodiles. How could this movie not kick ass?

Big Business seemed like an unassuming movie from the poster, but it actually turned out to be the biggest test of the concept of this podcast. What if there are two actors playing two different people with each actor having the same name as the other character. I'd reveal more of the plot, but let's just have Mike, the watcher of the second half, attempt to explain it to you. It's a wild ride, highly recommend this episode if you want to see Mike's mind break in half.

Pinhead was upset we didn't have an opinion on the meme Pinocchio movie, so we had to watch Pinocchio: A True Story to be released from the cenobite's grasp. Unfortunately, we may just want to go back in because this is truly one of the worst movies. Even Pauly Shore and Jon Header can't save what is clearly a mess of the script. Also, they literally took out all the good parts of Pinocchio!! There's NO WHALE OR PLEASURE ISLAND?! Why even bother?

Hellraiser: Judgement follows up on one of the worst movies we've seen for this podcast, Hellraiser: Revelations. It's the same writer from Revelations, but this time they spent more than 11 days making the movie. Can they actually turn it around?

Look we did it. We watched EVERY SINGLE Hellraiser movie in existence. We're officially super fans now. In fact, I got a little present to commemorate watching 10 whole movies back to back. I hope Mike likes it!

Hellraiser: Revelations is not only one of the worst movies we've seen in the Hellraiser franchise but one of the worst movies we've ever seen for this podcast. This movie is devoid of all life. This movie is a strange remake of the first movie, but with all of the soul ripped out of it. The poster looks like Pinhead trying to squeeze one out! Even Doug Bradley didn't come back to play Pinhead and that guy will be in anything! But even a poster with Pinhead defecating was too much. It also centers around a sad angsty rich white kid which just makes me want to take a nap.

Hellraiser: Hellworld is the movie we've been waiting for. It's the one where Hellraiser finally goes online. Unfortunately, old Pinhead wasn't surfing the web as much as we were hoping for. Instead, we a not very Hellraiser-like film that's still somehow a tribute to the Hellraiser series. Plus we got young Henry Cavil so you know it's a winner.

Hellraiser: Deader, could this series get any better? We're at number 7 of the Hellraiser series and the boys are barely holding on by a thread. This can't get any worse than the last two movies, right? This movie follows a reporter named Amy who is tasked with investigating *deep breath* the cult known as the deaders. They can't die! Or are they already dead? I'm not sure we'll ever know.

Hellraiser: Hellseeker may be one of the goofiest names in the entire series... until the next movie. This movie finally brings back Kirsty, our favorite character from Hellraiser II! Hopefully, nothing bad happens to her or her character. The boys may have bitten off more than they can chew in terms of Hellraiser movies. These are starting to get a little rough.

Hellraiser: Inferno brings Hellraiser back to its roots, by keeping Pinhead as a little treat instead of the main course. Instead, they feed you a budget version of Seven. Directed by the same director as Sinister and Dr. Strange, Scott Derrickson, Hellraiser: Inferno doesn't quite feel like a Hellraiser movie. All of the pieces to a great movie are there, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem like anyone knows how to put them together.

Hellraiser: Bloodline may in fact be the most ambitious horror movie we watched for the podcast or ever. It's time to learn about the puzzle box and how it was made in a story told across three different timelines. This movie even guest stars Adam Scott!

We're now on to the third movie in the Hellraiser series and things are looking a bit grim. The noticeable dip in quality is now apparent and the makeup effects are worse, but budget isn't everything, right?

Let's watch a classic summer horror movie from the 1970s: Piranha!! Just how did these Piranhas make it all the way to the States? This movie says, "Don't worry about it. We know what you want to see: bodies of water turning red!" We certainly didn't expect a cool little animated fish man created by Phil Tippett walking around a scientist's lab for no reason. This is a classic Other Half episode where Ethan calls the main protagonist by a side character's name for almost his entire half.

It's time to watch till you can't with the Hellraiser series! We watched the first hellraiser this Halloween and loved it, but we also noticed there are a lot of movies after it as well! We have to watch them all or at least try to get to the one where hell is (apparently) on the internet. We start off with Hellraiser II, which is a direct sequel to the first movie featuring many of the same characters, but also a WILD DOCTOR who conducts lobotomies! Does it stack up to the first movie? Or does it begin a slow descent into lesser quality movies?
