James is constantly trying breaking the stigma of being a poet, and tries to make poetry more accessible to the working class. By tapping into the nostalgia of growing up in northern towns, James brings the fun back to poetry and story telling, and has audiences belly laughing across the area. It hasn't been easy though.

Former lead singer (and founder) of early 2000s indie band The Troubadours, Mark Frith joins us on the podcast. Mark has experienced the highs and lows of the music business.
After breaking the stigma of being a song writer amongst friends and family, Mark quickly realised he was on to something, when top band managers discovered him on myspace. From that point onwards it was a whirlwind, as they were propelled to fame. Their first big break came when they toured with Paul Weller, and it felt like a continual rise to a successful destiny.
With more fans turning up to gigs, the Troubadours signed to Sony records, and turned Japan. Nobody could foresee what would happen next, but it was a bumpy ride. Strap yourself in, for a mesmerising episode!

This week we welcome the very popular local singer songwriter Connor Banks. With over ten years of live gigging under his belt, you’d be shocked to discover Connor is just twenty one years old. We cover all parts of his short, but productive, life as a musician.
Connor threw himself in the deep end age from the age of 12, getting regular gigs in the pubs and pushing himself to audition for shows such as X-factor. As he has grown into a young man, Connor admits he has never had “a normal job” and after gaining a following during covid live streams, he hasn’t looked back.
Connor is now rapidly rising in the original music world, releasing his own music and performing it at original music venues around the North. With a band formulated around his music, Connor has sold out local venues such as Chorley Little Theatre.
