MP-127 Cold Sweat (Honoring Charles Bronson)27 May 202401:14:07
We are back with another Charles Bronson movie. Portions of this film remind of middle school when my pops was late from picking me up. I kept anticipating his arrival, just like I kept anticipating Bronson's arrival, but he never really shows up. Anyway, we make the best of it because I got Moustachioso, Robby on this episode. MP-126 Miami Connection (Honoring Angelo Jonotti)03 Mar 202400:46:15
I have FINALLY circled back to my interest in covering some of the films that my homies of The Grindbin covered like 5 years ago. These are movies that I either discovered through the Bin or just really loved their episode on the film. In this case, I had seen Miami Connection, but it was amazing to revisit this cult classic for today's episode. Now, grab your keytar and comb your mustache, because I have a lot to say about this one. The Moustachioed Podcastio is the weird uncle of the wonderful PodMoth Media Network. MP-117 Ichi the Killer (Honoring Tadanobu Asano) 03 Jul 202302:06:36
Well, well, well...looks like I've finally managed to release a new episode almost on time for once. Of course I bring Bobby from The Grindbin Podcast to discuss maybe one of the most viceral and unsettling films to ever be discussed on the Podcastio. There may not be many mustaches in this film, but it makes up for it by having so many "wtf" moments. The Moustachioed Podcastio is the weird uncle of the wonderful PodMoth Media Network. MP-035 Trading Places (Eddie Murphy)01 Feb 202101:19:42
We are back with another moustachioed heavy hitter, that's right, we are honoring the comedic talent that is Eddie Murphy. Although my guest for the show, Trace Levos from the podcast Superhero Soup isn't a fan of Eddie, we both agree it's because he was born in the 90s and didn't get to enjoy Eddie Murphy's work back in the 80s. I picked 1983's Trading Places originally because Trace and I are similar but completely opposite in a lot of ways so I thought it be fun to discuss the movie together. But I sort of forgot about all the problematic stuff in the movie until I watched it again for this episode. All in all, I think I still had a great time with it. Also, I didn't plan for all this stock market, hedgehog fund trading stuff to be going on with GameStop, so it's just sort of weird coincidence that this episode is being released around the same time. MP-034 Zardoz (Sean Connery)25 Jan 202101:03:44
Well it's about damn time the legendary moustachioed actor, Sean Connery, finds his way into The Podcastio. This catcher's mitt-faced son of a gun made bandolier's cooler than ever, and red diapers...well, let's just say he didn't hurt their reputation. I highly doubt anyone that listens to this dumb show hasn't seen Zardoz, but prepare for one hell of a discussion about it. I'm joined by podcast host and father of one, Vaughn for this episode. MP-033 Miami Vice - Nobody Lives Forever (Edward James Olmos)18 Jan 202100:55:29
We are back honoring the legendary Edward James Olmos and his moustachioed death stare. I brought on Charlie from the Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man episode. The dude is a damn expert on the show and an expert on the topic of "dick flicks." Join us as we discuss Episode 20 of Miami Vice, titled, "Nobody Lives Forever." MP-032 Zoot Suit (Edward James Olmos)11 Jan 202101:39:29
This is definitely the most meaningful film to be on the Podcastio. I learned so much just preparing for Zoot Suit (1981) and honestly, my love for the work of Edward James Olmos has actually grown after seeing his performance in this film. I brought on one of my favorite humans for this episode, the great Dr. Faustus! So get those drapes out of the closet, put on your finest tando and suspenders and let’s hit the streets!! MP-031 Devil's Express aka Gang Wars (Warhawk Tanzania)04 Jan 202100:53:26
It's a SOLO CHOLO!!! We have Walter Hill's The Warriors to thank for inspiring the making of this movie. You could watch this movie on mute and get about the same amount I got from it with the sound on. Either way, Warhawk Tanzania leads this film with one hell of an epic moustache and that's all it takes to be on this podcast.
MP-030 Santa's Slay (Bill Goldberg/David MacInnis)23 Dec 202001:20:52
The Podcastio is celebrating Christmas Eve Eve! Boy, did I have a little too much eggnog for this one. Usually I progressively get more drunk in an episode, this time I started on cloud 9. Why? Because I brought on my big brother John to discuss 2005's Santa's Slay. We are honoring the great Bill Goldberg and a guy that plays Paramedic #1, David MacInnis. Editing this one was rough so bare with me listeners. There was a constant echo of my audio so I did my best to get edit that out. Sometimes John gets cut off, sometimes I sound like I'm on a speaker phone and sometimes you still hear the echo. But who cares! This is free. Happy Holidays you sons of bitches!!! MP-029 Super Fly (Ron O'Neal)21 Dec 202001:34:59
There's something about Super Fly (1972) that just amazes me. A dude named Youngblood Priest just walks around being an absolute badass and takes on "THE MAN." This is all happening with the best movie soundtrack that has graced the Podcastio. I'm joined by Chef Robby to tackle this movie and we have a damn great time. MP-028 The Fog (Hal Holbrook)14 Dec 202002:37:56
I'm not sure how it happened but I somehow have never seen John Carpenter's The Fog (1980). Either way, I think I brought the right guest in to help me break this movie down. Join me and the homie Matt Anderson (the most generic name in the game) as we take on this incredibly powerful fog that pretty much does whatever it wants. MP-027 Tombstone (Sam Elliott)07 Dec 202001:56:55
Tombstone is celebrating its 27th year anniversary this year so why not make it the 27th episode of The Moustachioed Podcastio! This was the movie that everyone would recommend I cover when I started this dumb show, but I knew I wanted to hold on to it for a special occasion. Well that day has finally come and the boys from The Grindbin Podcast (Mike & Bobby) are hear to help me break down the fantastic movie that is sort of a mess, but a wonderful one indeed. Find The Grindbin wherever you listen to podcasts and be sure to take a look at their Patreon as well. Find the Podcastio on: IG: @moustachioedpodcastio TW: @mpodcastio
MP-026 Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man30 Nov 202002:40:46
It's time to get our motors runnin' everyone! Featuring two gentlemen that were flying high in the 80s and now find themselves in a movie called, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man--Don Johnson and Mickey Rourke. I'm joined by the homie Charles, who has seen this one more times than I ever will. IG: @moustachioedpodcastio TW: @mpodcastio
MP-116 McBain (Honoring Steve James & Luis Guzmán)26 Jun 202301:03:18
As I mentioned a while back, I've made it my mission to cover films that The Grindbin Podcast has covered in the past. If you're a listener that doesn't know about The Grindbin, then you're missing out. I decided to pick action/war film, 1991's McBain as the first movie to cover. I always found it so puzzling that Christopher Walken starred in an action and revolutionary war film, that takes place in Columbia. It seems like some sort of Mandela Effect situation. Like this film only exists in the Berenstain universe as opposed to the BerenSTEIN Bears universe! The Moustachioed Podcastio is the weird uncle of the wonderful PodMoth Media Network. MP-025 The Maddening (Burt Reynolds...AGAIN)23 Nov 202003:01:54
I got to admit. I think I almost went mad myself recording this episode. I'm joined by Mike "Podfather" Wood from The Grindbin and Tim Yobo, co-host of The Bloody Bits Podcast to tackle this bottom of the trash bin film. We honor Burt Reynolds for the third time in this show. We may need to honor him for every different type of wig he sported throughout his career. Either way, put your finest robe on, pour you two fingers of whiskey and sit back for this one. Join the conversation and send me your movie requests: IG: https://www.instagram.com/moustachioedpodcastio/ TW: https://twitter.com/mpodcastio?lang=en
MP-024 Night of the Creeps (Tom Atkins)16 Nov 202002:01:50
What can I say about Night of the Creeps? It may be one of the best horror movies that I've somehow never seen!!! It genuinely pisses me off that I miss this movie, but either way, it's awesome to have seen this movie thanks to the recommendation of the great Bobby Trippett from The Grindbin Podcast. Together, we honor the legendary moustache of Tom Atkins. The man steals every scene that he's in--it's just fantastic. IG: @moustachioedpodcastio TW: @mpodcastio FB: @MPodcastio
MP-023 Super Troopers (Brian Cox)09 Nov 202002:54:04
When I started this podcast it didn't take long for recommendations of 2001's Super Troopers to come in. Well, I waited long enough. Joining me today is Eddie the Axe (Axe hitting metal sound) and Tim Yobo, as we breakdown this crazy stoner movie. Will Eddie be able to convince Tim and I that this movie is good? Who knows. Either way, we honor the great Brian Cox, who really shines in this movie as Captain John O'Hagen. IG: @moustachioedpodcastio TW: @mpodcastio Gmail: moustachioedpodcastio@gmail.com
MP-022 Shoot 'Em Up (Paul Giamatti)02 Nov 202002:02:49
It was the year 2007. I'm one year away from graduating college and finally, there is a movie of all action movies about to come out. It's called Shoot 'Em Up. It has the man who should have been James Bond 20 years ago and a sort of pudgy dude who normally plays weirdos but is now playing a badass crazy weirdo. Guess which ones of those two is Paul Giamatti. Yes, we honor the moustachioed Paul Giamatti in today's episode. I also welcome my homie Mike from Wack Brackets to the show for the first time! It was insane trying to break down this bad boy. IG: @moustachioedpodcastio TW: @mpodcastio Gmail: moustachioedpodcastio@gmail.com
MP-021 Silent Rage (Chuck Norris)26 Oct 202001:39:22
Guess who's back...back again...Chuck is back, tell a friend. Good ole' Chuck Norris has found his way back to the podcast. He's an official Moustachioso. My older brother John and I, are discussing 1982's Silent Rage. It's a movie that drives me bonkers, but for some reason my brother has seen it more than 10 times. Find the show on IG at @moustachioedpodcastio and on TW at @mpodcastio.
MP-020 Invasion of the Body Snatchers19 Oct 202002:13:36
You know, one of the things I love about Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) is the fact that the aliens are so nice, minus the fact that they just screech like no ones business. I'm joined by the Brothers McCollum for this classic horror/suspense film. I do maybe one of my favorite "Quick Impressions" in this episode. Enjoy! Find The Moustachioed Podcastio @moustachioedpodcastio on IG and @MPodcastio on Twitter.
MP-019 Runaway (Tom Selleck)05 Oct 202001:29:19
There was no way the show wasn't going to honor the great Tom Sellick, who continues to grace us with his masterful moustache to this very day. We discuss Tom Selleck in the sort of future, sort of action film, Runaway (1985). I'm joined by my homegirl, Grace Harryman. Oh yeah, this movie has Gene Simmons and Kirstie Alley in it for no reason.
MP-018 Def-Con 4: Defense Condition28 Sep 202001:51:31
Ever wanted to see a space movie, but you're also in the mood for Mad Max...AND you also like wholesome Canadian actors?? Well, do I have the movie for you. The homie Michael Tanner joins me in discussing, 1985's Def-Con 4: Defense Condition. Why did they call it Def-Con 4? Why is the protagonist dressed like a ghost buster? How did a kid become the leader of a society in two months? None of these questions will be answered, but listen anyway.
MP-017 My Man Godfrey21 Sep 202002:37:50
Really classed it up for this episode. Brody (@illuminatedmanuscript) aka Vintage B, brings her knowledge of film, fashion and scavenger hunt items to the show. We are honoring moustachioed legend William Powell in the film, My Man Godfrey (1936). I won't lie, I didn't think this movie would actually make me laugh, but it totally did. Carlo may be one of the oddest characters that's been talked about on the podcastio.
MP-016 Stir Crazy14 Sep 202002:24:00
I think every fan of comedy can agree that when you put moustachioed legend Richard Pryor and the incredible Gene Wilder in a movie together, hilarious magic happens. My homie Patrick Huerta joins me to discuss 1980's Stir Crazy. A movie that when you read the title and see the movie poster, you'd never think it was pretty much a prison movie. Either way, Richard and Gene find a way to make it an adventure. Join the fun and follow the show on IG @moustachioedpodcastio and on TW @mpodcastio!
MP-115 The Getaway (Honoring Al Lettieri & Ben Johnson)05 Jun 202302:51:23
Imagine a movie with car chases, gun fights, cowboy hats, and a cucked out veterinarian. Well, guess what! It exists! I'm joined by fellow Moustachioso, Mike Justice, to discuss 1972's The Getaway. We of course go on a ton of tangents. Consider this an easy listening Podcastio episode. Not a whole bunch of screaming like most episodes. Well, maybe a little. MP-015 No Holds Barred07 Sep 202002:16:08
It was just a matter of time before Hulkamania arrived at The Moustachioed Podcastio. The homie Tim Yobo and I are taking a step into the ring and discussing Hulk Hogan's No Holds Barred (1989). So much growling, so much grunting, so much Hogan booty. Be sure to follow The Moustachioed Podcastio on IG at @moustachioedpodcastio and on TW at @MPodcastio.
MP-014 The Addams Family (1964) Green Eyed Gomez31 Aug 202000:47:48
I still can't get the song out of my head! Enjoy today's SOLO CHOLO episode as I cover The Addams Family (1964) Episode 10 "Green Eyed Gomez." This is the first time I've covered a TV show episode as opposed to a feature film. I had a great time with it. The awesome set, the wardrobe, the corny jokes...loved it all. We are honoring John Astin and his moustachioed greatness! He's the man of many faces, the man holding the cigar and running the show.
MP-013 Up in Smoke24 Aug 202002:21:42
It sort of blows my mind how this Canadian dude and this Los Angeles Chicano ran into each other and created a stoner empire. Either way, I'm glad they did. My buddy, Eddie the Axe, and I dive into the stoner comedy gem that is, Up in Smoke (1978), in today's episode. Talk about a movie way ahead of its time. It's sort of amazing how well this movie holds up. It is still to this day incredibly funny and the sort of loose script, improv comedy style isn't seen enough these days.
MP-012 The Cannonball Run17 Aug 202002:23:55
Burt Reynolds is such a moustachioed legend that he's already back on the show with his 1981 outing in The Cannonball Run! He's officially a Podcastioso. Today, I welcome Dr. Lago Faustus, the official Dean of the Podcastio. The doc saw Cannonball Run, directed by Hal Needham, in the theater when it came out! I saw it last week. Let's see what our impressions are of this million miles per hour epic romp. And as per usual, please excuse my horrible impressions of ALL characters. Follow Faustus on Twitter @EroticMadSci for links and updates on his latest works.
MP-010 El Mariachi03 Aug 202001:05:28
I remember the first time I saw Desperado at 11 or 12 year old, I thought it was so badass, plus, ya know...Salma Hayek. Then my older brother told me, "Have you seen the first one?" And I said, "The first one?? I thought this was the only one?" "Nah, man...the original one is badass!" So then we rented it shortly after and I absolutely loved it. It was much more rough along the edges, but at the same time just as fun. Plus, the mustaches! Today, we honor every Mexicano that sports a mustache. Why? Because I said so! I had a great time looking back at this one. Now grab a cerveza, and drink it from the damn bottle why don't ya!!
MP-009 Surviving the Game27 Jul 202001:56:56
Not much has changed since Ernest Dickerson's Surviving the Game (1994) was released. The rich remain seemingly unscathed in their efforts to marginalize the lives they see as lesser than their own. What's great about this movie is you get that deep message, but you also get a plethora of WTF moments and pure hilarity. I'm joined by Tim from Queens to unravel this bad boy. There are so many questions. Was Ice-T at all intimated by leading a movie supported by some of the greatest character actors ever?? Was nu-metal inspired by Ice-T's wardrobe? Can Ice-T control wolves? All these questions won't be answered, but listen anyway!
MP-008 The Meteor Man20 Jul 202001:37:55
Holy crap! Back to back CHOLO SOLO episodes. Covering The Meteor Man was incredibly nostalgic for me. This is the first movie I saw as a kid at the San Antonio Mission Drive-In. I'm honoring the moustachioed greatness that is Robert Townsend, who wrote, directed and starred in this 1993 superhero film. What a legend! This man brought the first Black superhero movie to the screen and I hope you enjoy reliving this movie with me. Drug Dealer people Meteor Man’s in town!
MP-007 Maniac13 Jul 202000:59:54
It's a CHOLO SOLO episode! What's sticky, sweaty, smells like sadness and has a mustache? That would be Joe Spinell in Maniac (1981). This movie is the first movie to make me feel like how I felt the first time I saw what goes on in a slaughterhouse. This a rough one, but you know what...I still had a good time. Tom Savini's magical powers of practical effects, Spinell's portrayal of a momma's boy serial killer and William Lustig's ability to keep this crazy train on the tracks makes it worth the watch. Plus, you get some killer Karate Kid Chinese flute music.
MP-006 Boogie Nights06 Jul 202002:24:12
You ever seen so many mustaches in one place that you couldn't focus on just one? Well, that's Paul Thomas Anderson's Boogie Nights. This movie is sort of long and this episode is longer than usual, but who the hell cares! I'm joined by the great Mike Wood from The Grindbin Podcast, as we honor the legendary Burt Reynolds. This damn movie has everything. A young Mark Wahlberg playing an even younger Mark Wahlberg, hilarious porno actor names, disco music, 80's music, a red corvette, hilarious oil paintings and a ton of cocaine red! Now sit back and relax as we take this incredible journey and watch Eddie Adams become Dirk Diggler!
MP-114 aRRRe You Ready for This?! (Honoring Ram Charan)17 May 202302:45:24
Well we are definitely honoring Indian actor, Ram Charan today, and definitely NOT honoring the notorious monster human actor dude that was Klaus Kinski. You'll get the title of this episode if you listen to the whole thing. lol That's right, we are talking RRR (2022) and let me tell you, it's a damn good time. Additionally, I announced that I'll be covering a few films that one of my favorite podcasts, The Grindbin, covered a while back. But that will be next time. For now, check out one of my favorite guest spots on The Grindbin right after this episode! Double the content, double the fun! MP-005 Bad Ass 29 Jun 202001:18:38
We have honored some real mustachioed legends on this show, and they've all been great in their own way. Today, we honor someone who is one-of-a-damn-kind in my book--the awesome Danny Trejo. We sort of mini-honored him in the Death Wish 4 episode but now we give him a full episode, as I discuss Bad Ass (2012) in what I refer to as a CHOLO SOLO episode! Electrocutions, street basketball, pawn stars dude from Pulp Fiction, garbage disposal meat grinder and a greyhound bus chicken challenge!! What more can you ask for??
MP-004 The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot22 Jun 202001:33:20
Can you smell it? The whiskey and gun powder in the air. Wait...there's another smell that's ruining it. It's COVID BIGFOOT!! WATCH OUT! HE'S GOT A SECOND WIND! Join myself and the great Bobby Trippett, co-host of The Grindbin Podcast, as we unravel this surprisingly heartfelt and meaningful film led by our Moustachioed Honoree, Sam Elliott. Please excuse some audio mixing issues, as we recorded this from separate locations. Thanks!
MP-002 Forced Vengeance08 Jun 202001:00:33
It's time to to celebrate the Moustachioed Podcastio's sophomore slump. We are talking about the legendary Chuck Norris and his movie Forced Vengeance (1982). Has a movie ever met its peak at the opening credits? Let's get through this movie filled with ADR, internal monologues and guess what? Mustaches.
MP-001 Death Wish 4: The Crackdown01 Jun 202001:01:11
The Moustachioed Podcastio is all about honoring our favorite moustachioed actors. Today, host Daniel Segura is honoring the great Charles Bronson, by reviewing Death Wish IV: The Crackdown. Is this movie more than just a cool movie title and movie poster? I guess we'll just have to see. Now let's celebrate the power of older adults.
MP-113 Rocky IV (Honoring Carl Weathers and Tony Burton)04 May 202302:38:54
Ohhh....the 1980's, you gotta love them. Imagine being able to make a film that is about 40 percent montages and people leave the theater absolutely loving it! If you don't feel like crushing an empty beer can on your head after Rocky IV, then you're simply not an American. ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! Let's take a trip back to 1939, baby! As I mention in this episode, there's nothing that makes me feel like poor garbage more than watching old films about rich people. But they certainly make up for it with amazing writing and witty jokes that keep me coming back. Plus, I learn rich white stuff, which is always fun. MP-110 Action Jackson (Honoring Carl Weathers)27 Feb 202301:19:16
Heyo! The Podcastio is back, baby! We are talking Action Jackson, as we honor the legendary moustache of Carl Weathers. The homie Steve has returned to break down this 80s action film, filled with explosions, and super punches. The Moustachioed Podcastio is the weird uncle of the wonderful PodMoth Media Network. MP-109 Poison Ivy (Honoring Tom Skerritt)09 Feb 202301:58:14
Want to hear two men in their 30's sound incredibly uncomfortable talking about a film? Well, here you go. We are talking 1992's thriller/drama, Poison Ivy. I've invited on Brady from the Solid Six Podcast and his moustache to dig into the hijinx of this film. As friend of the show, Mike Justice, put it, "It's pretentious soft-focus trash and I'm here for it. It could've been so much worse." MP-108 Cop and a Half (Honoring Burt Reynolds)19 Jan 202303:16:16
This might be the most surprising film I've seen on the Podcastio, in terms of how I felt about it going in and how I felt about it once the movie was over. Cop and a Half is an incredibly 90's kid's movie, but believe it or not, it pretty much holds up. Even with Reynolds just going through the motions, this damn movie has some heart. MP-125 My Bloody Valentine 2009 (Honoring Tom Atkins) 22 Feb 202400:53:30
We go back to the well of Tom Atkins, who was into his 70's during the making of My Bloody Valentine in 2009. But it did not stop him from being an absolute badass! The Podcastio is back baby, and of course it's back honoring mustaches and awesome kill scenes. The Moustachioed Podcastio is the weird uncle of the wonderful PodMoth Media Network. MP-107 A Million to Juan w/ Patrick Christopher (Honoring Edward James Olmos & Bert Rosario)10 Jan 202301:10:31
We once again honor the legendary Edward James Olmos. He's in the movie for about 5 mins but who cares, it's EJO! We are also honoring for the first time Bert Rosario. I brought on my homie, Patrick Christopher, to break down 1994's A Million to Juan. The Moustachioed Podcastio is the weird uncle of the wonderful PodMoth Media Network. MP-106 The Killing Hour w/ Mike Justice (Honoring Jon Polito)03 Jan 202301:36:47
Jon Polito has been on the list of actors to be honored on the Podcastio for some time, and what better way to kick off the new year then to discuss a film that he's in for about 15 minutes. I brought on the homie, Mike Justice, to talk 1982's The Killing Hour aka The Clairvoyant. The Moustachioed Podcastio is the weird uncle of the wonderful PodMoth Media Network. MP-105 Violent City (Honoring Charles Bronson)02 Dec 202201:49:52
Want to see one of the last movies that features Charles Bronson actually running and jumping, and stuff? As opposed to standing and/or sitting and shooting a gun? Well, Violent City might be right up your alley. I bring on quite the combo for this one. The homies, Lee and Leah, from THEY MUST BE DESTROYED ON SITE! MP-104 No Country for Old Men (Honoring Josh Brolin)16 Nov 202201:20:58
What up, bro...it's time to honor Brolin! That's right! Josh effin Brolin. He's the only Cable I haven't unsubscribed from. I'll stop. Anyway, I bring on the Twitch boys from Beer on the Keyboard (Michael & Justin) to discuss 2007's No Country for Old Men. Enjoy!
