So if I had to guess, since you are listening to this podcast you’ve probably heard of Jimmy Diresta. 008 - An Analytical Approach to Woodworking with Brad Rodriguez From Fix This Build That16 Nov 201700:37:49

If you seen anything Brad has done I bet it was first on Instagram. Even though he joined in 2013 his account, FixThisBuildThat has quickly become one of the go to spots in the maker and woodworking community. With over 225,000 followers Brad has leveraged his influence to create a sustainable full-time career through content creation.

In fact Brad just went full time in August of 2017, a story we get into here but he also digs into much deeper on his excellent podcast Made for Profit. On the podcast he partners with furniture maker (and x Pittsburgh Steeler) Brad Malecki. Each week they chat about the business of making and how you can turn a profit as a maker.

Another place you’ve definitely seen Brad is his Flip Top Tool Stand build which was the very first video he posted on YouTube. His channel is a little over a year old but is coming close to 100,000 subscribers.

007 - A Design First Approach to DIY with HomeMade Modern's Ben Uyeda09 Nov 201700:37:43

Ben got his undergrad and Masters in Architecture from Cornell. He later went on to teach and lecture in the area of sustainable design. While in college he also co-founded his own architecture firm ZeroEnergy Design and in 2008 he launched FreeGreen.com which distributed green home designs all over the internet.

But I bet that wasn’t where you have seen Ben’s work. In June of 2013 he started his YouTube channel HomeMadeModern which currently has over 800,000 subscribers and just north 50 millions views during the past four years. What’s amazing about his channel is the limited amount of tools that Ben uses and then his ability to create unique and modern furniture that is highly accessible.
