We were delighted to invite Fin (James Findlay), bassist from Hell is for Heroes, onto the show to talk us through the lowest ebbs of touring in the height of the UK Post-Hardcore boom of the early to mid 00s.

Recorded back in ages ago (again), this one covers a lot of ground and the final tale is really quite something. Touring IS fun, promise, but the bad stuff is pretty damn interesting to talk about.

This week we're joined by Ben Murray, our good friend and front of house engineering extraordinaire to talk over some of his less enthralling experiences as a professional sound engineer. Many beans are spilt and subsequently stood on.

Ben is a brilliant engineer based in Liverpool and he's a director at Total Control Sound, a PA hire company he's built up with his brother John. Ben also occasionally gets the dubious honour of running front of house for us (when we can afford him) at our live shows.

We cover everything from broken PAs, boxes full of dead animals and also read out and respond to some of your tweets.

This is also the first one we've attempted from isolation during the great Coronavirus Lockdown of 2020, thanks to the magic of Zoom.

Our first ever episode!

We thought we'd start gently by interviewing ourselves. Perhaps we come across as entitled ingrates? You can decide. We cover a selection of some of our worst gigging experiences to date, from Battle of the Bands contests to playing in hole in the ground.

This episode we speak to the wonderfully talented and funny Evelyn Halls from that there popular beat combo from the northern port city of Liverpool, Clean Cut Kid. Evelyn played cello on our recent record, so were were well happy to have her back for a proper natter. Evelyn talks about the trials and tribulations of touring around the globe with Clean Cut Kid...talking about the importance of remembering your parts without needing to hear them(!), playing the occasional empty venue, we go deep on Liverpools very own 'Fyre Festival' going by the name of 'Hope and Glory Festival' and to cap it off..we discuss whether the 'Kasbah' in Coventry was really the actual one from The Clash song. In episode 15 we're joined by our dear old touring pal, Paul Russell. We've shared many a splitter van with Paul and he's always one for a good touring anecdote. Along with fronting his bands Axes and Human Pyramids, Paul has also toured as front-of-house engineer for bands such as The Skints and The King Blues, seeing such colourful sights of dodgy Russian hotel rooms and Belgian 'specialist' car parks.
