This list is quite basic but even so I re-learned a few things about what to do and what not to do to ensure I am training effectively.

Oh, the Burning!09 Nov 202200:04:47

Sweat stings my eyes in this humid podcast, coming straight from Costa Rica. I head out on my first run workout in almost 2 months, giving my back a test in the process. As with my cycle workout, there seem to be hills any way you head so hoping I can find a relatively flat route for my first run. And I'll be looking for some cold coconut water at the end.

I am taking off soon for an extended vacation to Costa Rica! I am so excited to visit that country (again) and to resume my triathlon training. I haven't trained since Sep 5 and after recovering from a severe back injury and (almost recovered) foot injury I am psyched to dream of swimming, cycling and running again!

Also, I will be posting videos to The Lonely Triathlete YouTube channel, so check those out at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9lmUEgk9FHNnRFqdgGzL2w

After 24 years of racing I finally, finally, placed 3rd in my age group in a triathlon! And, I used a technique that I discovered in one of my first races to do it. First of all, you need to put in the right training, right amount of training and have the luck to have the right mix of people in your category. Then, use this technique and improve your chances to get a medal. It worked for me!

3 - COMMIT to it
4 - PLAN to achieve
5 - Embrace the PROCESS

The Triathlon Gear and Tech That I Love!17 Oct 202100:20:46

Send us a text

We've heard that triathlon can be an expensive sport because of all of the gear and technology that it requires. The good news is it actually "requires" very little gear.  Then why do so many of us own so much stuff? Well, mostly for comfort and a some for performance enhancement. Over the years I have grown used to, and fallen in love with, certain pieces of gear and in this episode I walk through those most cherished items in my arsenal.

If you have a piece of kit or gear that you love and which  didn't mention, I'd love the hear about it at thelonelytriathlete@gmail.com
