A standard sized pallet can transport 2.5 times as many of these flat wine bottles as the average round, glass wine bottle.

| Episode #23: On site with GEFCO | 17 Dec 2019 | 00:15:31 | |
The Logistics Podcast learned what year-round care and compassion look like on a recent visit to GEFCO’s Coventry warehouse, which won our Wellbeing Initiative Award in September. Retention of engaged staff, fewer absences and close teams are just some of the business benefits.
GEFCO Incentives include free fish & chips, free health checks, free haircuts, free camping festivals for family and friends… Its ‘brew days’ – where teams stop, gather, have a cuppa and chat about how they are – have led to team members opening up about problems, which they’ve then received support for.
We met warehouse operative Kevin, who was one of 50 staff who completed a Coventry to Paris bike ride, something which he told me relaxed everyone – at every level – and brought staff closer together. Then you have the mental health first aiders, trained and qualified to listen to personal issues which may be causing a staff member stress.
If you’ve implemented a successful wellbeing programme at your operation, register your interest in entering the Wellbeing Initiative Award in 2020 (https://www.logisticsawards.co.uk/en/forms/register-your-interest-2020.html) . | |||
