| Angel's Envy Oloroso Sherry Single Barrel | 01 Oct 2024 | 00:01:13 | |
This single barrel of cask strength Angel's Envy finished in Oloroso sherry cask and bottled at 115.3 proof is a fruit and leather showstopper. Cinnamon candy on the nose with subtle red fruit and toffee. On the palate, traditional bourbon notes lead with leather, vanilla, apricot and chocolate, but from mod-palate on the sherry takes over imparting a very rich raspberry wine note that pairs PERFECTLY with the whiskey. Based on the retail of cask strength AE the last several years, this is a deal!
| Wild Turkey Master's Keep Triumph | 30 Sep 2024 | 00:01:02 | |
This year's Master's Keep is a 104 proof 10+ year old non-chill filtered rye whiskey that's not playing games. It's big, bold, spicy, sweet, with extra char but enough rye spice to lighten things up JUST enough to keep it from falling over from the oak. A touch of citrus throughout both the nose and palate along with a very complex fruit note akin to grilled peaches. This doesn't taste like ANYTHING else out that, and for once, that's a good thing!
| Barkeep Vodka | 04 Sep 2024 | 00:01:47 | |
From the owners of St. Elmo's comes a vodka so smooth, it might be TOO SMOOTH? Made from Midwest corn based 6 times distilled vodka, then pressure filtered using a proprietary process, Barkeep literally has no bite wahtsoever. It's extremely clean tasting, almost invisible when mixed with any ingredient. It's the PERFECT well bourbon and one HECK of a value for the price.
| Whiskey Review: Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond 100 Proof | 22 Feb 2024 | 00:01:05 | |
Tasting Notes: Shhhhhh....don't tell anyone about Evan Williams 100 proof Bottled-in-Bond, especially when we've got it on Red Hot Deal for UNDER $18. It's at least 4 years old and bottled at 100 proof, from ONE distillery, made in ONE distilling season. Fresh mint and oak on the nose, typical Heaven Hill with a rustic woodsiness I've always enjoyed. On the palate, bright bourbon fruit mixed perfectly with a more mature oak profile. The decent malt content provides a touch of shortbread as well. Long finish, and complex, but not over oaked. For an "EVERYDAY" bourbon, it's either this, Wild Turkey 101, or Old Fo 100 proof if you ask me. Why not have them ALL!
| Scotch Review: Compass Box Orchard House | 21 Feb 2024 | 00:01:44 | |
Tasting Notes: A "blended malt," bottled at 92 proof with big doses of Linkwood and the always delicious Clynelish, Compass Box Orchard House is the perfect scotch for spring. Inviting citrus, fruit, and floral aromas are integrated with a backbone of sweet malt. On the palate, vanilla bean, peach ice cream, lemon curd, and finger limes along with more exotic tangerine and lychee. Plus it's all MALT for UNDER $50
| Review: Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream | 20 Feb 2024 | 00:01:04 | |
Tasting Notes: Now that it's become much more widely available, I thought I'd take a look at Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream, and also, as of the writing of this, it's SNOWING after Valentine's Day so why not??!! The nose promises creamy bourbony goodness with a big hit of vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, it's got the BIG hit of bourbon flavor and bite that you want. Not too sweet, perfect pulled right from the fridge and served neat. 30 proof, but be careful, seated by the fire, this will sneak up on you!
| Whiskey Review: Evan Williams 1783 | 16 Feb 2024 | 00:01:06 | |
We are always looking for the most under the radar brands that offer a great value, and Evan Williams 1783 fits the bill perfectly. It's not a fancy bottle, but at 90 proof with a more than 4yr minimum mature age profile, I'd put this one right up against Elmer T Lee in a blind decanter test. Elegant nose of butterscotch, mint, wild honey, and lemon. On the palate, perfectly portioned delivery of sweet oak along with space, and more butterscotch to finish. Never pass up a $20 bourbon that no one is drinking, because THAT'S the next hard to get!
| Whiskey Review: Huber Blackberry Whiskey | 15 Feb 2024 | 00:01:30 | |
Tasting Notes: If you liked the new Crown Royal Blackberry, you should definitely treat yourself to Indiana's original version of this, Huber's Blackberry whiskey. It doesn't get more "down on the farm" than this with real copper-pot distilled Indiana bourbon being blended with farm-grown blackberries, and bottled at 84 proof. There's nothing too sweet or cloying about this, and with the addition of lemonade you've got a perfect farmer's porch drink, all made right here in the Hoosier state.
| Whiskey Review: Jefferson's Bourbon | 15 Feb 2024 | 00:01:21 | |
Tasting Notes: When the Zoeller Family finally sold their shares in Jefferson's Bourbon to Pernod Ricard last year, it was inevitable that we would see a branding and design refresh. In the case of VSB, or Very Small Batch as it had been called, the changes have been subtle, and I think for the most part better. They've dropped the "Very Small Batch" and instead have emphasized "Straight Bourbon Whiskey" retaining the "blend of" right above it. There's still no indication of age, other than without an age statement, we KNOW it's at least 4 years old. And we still don't know the distillery of origin, because that's never been published. But with it being on Red Hot Deal this period for $26, I thought we'd take another look at this relatively LOW priced premium whiskey. Light fruit, herbs, mint, and oak on the nose with a chocolate cherry distinctiveness. On the palate, more soft oak with honey and some nuts to go with the fruit.
| Liqueur Review: Dom B & B Liqueur | 14 Feb 2024 | 00:01:49 | |
Tasting Notes: What did 15th century Norman monks know about alcohol? Quite a lot it turns out, expressed most succinctly in the now Bacardi owned brand of Benedictine. Made with 27 different flowers, berries, herbs and spices. Perfected by Alexandre Le Grand, and given the addition of 40% brandy at New York City's famous 21 Club, B&B is a sweet and herbily drink perfect on the rocks with a twist. If you like Drambuie in a Rusty Nail or Grand Marnier neat after a meal, then give this concoction a try.
| Whiskey Review: Hugh Hamer Double Oaked | 13 Feb 2024 | 00:01:11 | |
Locally aged, finished and bottled by West Fork, The Hugh Hamer Double Oaked rivals Woodford Double Oaked with a massive dose of sweet 99% candy corn goodness. Fresh cut oak, plums, and dark fruit on the nose with a touch of honey. On the palate, absolutely dripping with fresh barrel flavors. Bourbon candy, oak shavings, and more dark fruit. It's bottled at 103 proof, so ice is fine and it calms the oak down a bit, but it's a MUST try Old Fashioned because all that oak with sugar is something to behold.
| Whiskey Review: Knob Creek 9yr | 09 Feb 2024 | 00:01:21 | |
Tasting Notes: We've got Knob Creek 9yr 100 proof on sale until June 2024 for only $18.39 per bottle. You'll never see a hotter price on one of the BEST every day bourbons on the market. So, let's take this opporunity to revisit an old friend. One of the OG Jim Beam Small Batch bourbons along with Booker's, Baker's, and Basil Hayden's, Knob Creek has always been a jewel hiding in plain sight. Soft lemon and orange inflected spice on the nose with almond and and coconut. On the palate, more coconut, barrel spice, orange liqueur, and that foxy yeast so you know it's Jim Beam. At 9 years the spice is well-developed, but at 100 proof it's extremely drinkable making it exactly what you want in an every day sipper. And at $18.39 per bottle, you'd better buy a case before we run out!
| Gin Review: Citadelle Gin Jardin D'ete | 09 Feb 2024 | 00:01:46 | |
Tasting Notes: Inspired by Debbie Gabriel, wife of Ciatdelle Founder Alexandre, and her inspiring summer garden at the family estate in Cognac, Jardin D'été is made in a similar vain as their immensely popular Pineapple rum, with whole lemons, yuzu zest, melon flesh and orange peels distilled and infused into the distillate in meticulous fashion, yielding some pure sunshine in your glass and cocktails. A fresh, bright, mouth-watering gin that remains impressively balanced and ingeniously pliable.
| Sun Cruiser Iced Tea Lemonade | 22 Aug 2024 | 00:01:00 | |
The perfect antidote to fall and winter. From the minds behind Twisted Tea comes Sun Cruiser! The perfect blend of Tea and Lemonade. High Noon beware! 100 Calories 4.5% alc.
| Whiskey Review: Early Times Kentucky Whisky | 08 Feb 2024 | 00:01:25 | |
Tasting Notes: Since we've reviewed a blended whiskey recently in Sazerac's "Traveler" and we've tasted the new Old Forester 1924, which is a 10yr bottling of old Early Times straight whiskey, I thought we'd stay thematic and take a look at today's modern version of Early Times, a once proud brand in the Brown Forman stable, which as a straight whiskey was the #1 selling bourbon in 1953, two years prior to BF buying Jack Daniels. Sold for years as a straight whisky, then moving in the 1980s to a blended whisky before finally being sold to Sazerac in 2020 and now being billed as a "Kentucky Whisky with Natural Flavors," ET has changed with the times. On the nose, light oak with cinnamon fruit gum and brown sugar. On the palate, more fruit with a touch of honey, and a naturally strong kick, that's more boozy than spicy. A bottle of Early Times and a 30 rack of Busch while you're shelling peanuts and fishing may just be the thing you need!
| Whiskey Review: Crown Royal Blackberry | 06 Feb 2024 | 00:01:43 | |
The NEWEST Crown Royal flavor is the HOTLY anticipated "Blackberry," a typically rich flavor that's hard to pair perfectly, so let's see if Crown gets this one right. On the nose, sweet and tangy fruit notes, candy like, but with enough bite to take the sweet edge off. On the palate, dark and sweet, with an explosion of berry flavor, balanced out by a touch of citrus. The underlying whisky is still there, but the fruit flavor is the main show. Balanced, drinkable, just about perfect when paired with lemonade over ice in the summer!
| Whiskey Review: Old Elk Four Grain | 03 Feb 2024 | 00:01:27 | |
Tasting Notes: The EPITOME of "Sleeper Hit" the 2022 Old Elk Four Grain is a blend of 2 of the best MGP recipes at unheard of ages. The High Malt MGP bourbon and the high wheat MGP bourbon. Both are relatively polarizing whiskies on their own at younger ages, but at these ages, mellowed out and blended together the combination is something EXTRAORDINARY! Eucalyptus, mint, camphor, and herbs on the nose. On the palate, cinnamon spice, a signature of MGP is followed by toffee and caramel, then whipped into an oak frenzy on the finish.
| Whiskey Review: Old Fitzgerald 8yr Bottled in Bond | 01 Feb 2024 | 00:01:26 | |
Tasting Notes: The Old Fitzgerald lineup keeps getting younger, but that doesn't mean it's getting worse. In fact, this 8 year BIB expression throws off big forest flavors, along with earth, mint, and spice. On the palate, a soft hit of very mellow oak leads, gathering strength, then ultimately transitioning to a long cinnamon spice finish. Other than the 17yr, this is the most balanced expression from an oak/fruit standpoint. It's a complete whiskey and completely delicious.
| Cognac Review: Courvoisier Cognac | 31 Jan 2024 | 00:01:46 | |
Tasting Notes: Since Beam Suntory just sold Courvoisier to Campari recently we thought it a good time to take a look at their flagship VS expression. Among the large houses (Remy, Martell, Hennessy) Courvoisier is the smallest, and most affordable. Not quite catching fire like most Cognac did during the pandemic, the brand was left to its own devices, but just judging on TASTE alone, Courvoisier is soft, fruity, and possibly the most approachable of the big house styles. Soft orange and citrus on the nose with a light leather aroma and a touch of almond paste. On the palate the sweetness settles into a soft glowing candied orange with oak spice growing, but never overtaking.
| Whiskey Review: George Dickel Reserve 17 | 30 Jan 2024 | 00:01:25 | |
Tasting Notes: I've always considered the 84% corn Dickel one of the most rustic and flavorful whiskies on the market. And while Dickel sold and bottled under several non distiller producer labels may not be everyone's cup of tea, the original house bottled Dickel is one of the most consistently rich and easy drinking Tennessee whiskies out there. Enter the reserve "cask strength" at only 92 proof 17year old from Dickel's Master Distiller Nicole Austin. The nose has the same oak profile as a Stagg with massive spicy oak aromas mixed with peanut butter powder and lemon essence. On the palate, the high corn sweetness mixes with the oak to create a spice bomb of rich wood driven flavors. Walnut, toffee, apricots, dark fruit, and finally leather are all whipped up into a frenzy. One of the most powerful 92 proof whiskies I have ever tasted!
| Whiskey Review: Old Forester 1924 | 29 Jan 2024 | 00:01:25 | |
Tasting Notes: When Brown Forman SOLD the Early Times brand to Sazerac in 2020, they must have kept some choice barrels of that mashbill behind which were bottled initially WAY back as Early Times 354, and later the straight whiskey version of Early Times itself, which was then, and still is a sleeper hit. Fast Forward to 2024 with the release of this latest "Whiskey Row" series, and BF is rolling out a 10 year version the this 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley mashbill in the form of Old Forester 1924, commemorating a year when mashbills and whiskies from Prohibition-closed distilleries arrived on their doorsteps. It's a clever bit of marketing with some actual factual parallels, but setting all that aside, what's it taste like? First off, I LOVE the straight ET for its brown sugary goodness, along with lots of sweet body and traditional leather and spice flavors. The mixer whiskey for ET always had to be a little sweeter because that's what that target demo demanded, and so once you saddle 10 years of age and bottle at an appropriate 100 proof you're left with an OUTSTANDING whiskey in 1924. It actually tastes sweeter and younger than its age statement, but that's the point. Sweet sugar goodness from start to finish. If you want something different and little more lively in your glass, go for this!
| Scotch Review: Glendronach 12yr Single Malt Scotch | 26 Jan 2024 | 00:01:44 | |
Tasting Notes This classic Highland single malt is aged for 12 years in a combination of Oloroso and PX sherry casks, providing a fruit and sweetly cream driven malt with ginger cookie, dried red fruit, and orchard fruit. The malt has a touch of lemon curd, but the rich fruit takes over and leads to a balanced finish both malty and spicy.
| Whiskey Review: Pure Kentucky XO | 25 Jan 2024 | 00:01:26 | |
Tasting Notes: This 107 proof "XO" bourbon is truly "pure Kentucky," distilled, aged, and bottled by Willett at 107 proof. Tell us 107 and we're ALL IN! Pure Kentucky is a blend of 72/13/15 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley & 52/38/10 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley. The mix creates a soft and spicy malt forward bourbon with biscuit and bread on the nose. On the palate, the spice kicks up but a malty backbone persists throughout.
| Cognac Review: Branson VS Cognac | 24 Jan 2024 | 00:01:47 | |
Blended by 5th generation, family-run producer Raymond Ragnaud, who has been located in the Grande Champagne premier cru of Cognac since 1860, Branson Phantom VS represents the finest example of Cognac and is curated with excellence. Sourced from top vineyards in the Borderies and Fins Bois regions and then aged for at least 2-3 years, although this blend is classified as a VS due to its age, it offers a VSOP-like experience due to the meticulous care taken at every step.
| Baby Jane Heirloom Corn Bourbon | 20 Aug 2024 | 00:01:07 | |
Made from a blend of NY state heirloom corn bourbon and straight Kentucky bourbon, Baby Jane from Widow Jane distillery in NY bucks the trade of undrinkable craft whiskey, maybe because it's only HALF craft whiskey, or they never actually say how much Kentucky whiskey is in the mix, so we'll never know, but not that it matters, because the 91 proof is actually really delicious. Rich earthy caramel on the nose with butterscotch and a touch of soft grain emerging. On the palate really round and sweet upfront with back end spice. Very well integrated and drinkable bourbon, way better than average for craft.
| Whiskey Review: Johnny Drum Private Stock | 23 Jan 2024 | 00:01:29 | |
Tasting Notes: If you're always on the lookout for a great "everyday" sipper or Old Fashioned Bourbon that's not going to break the bank and may just be a little outside the norm, then Johnny Drum might be your new "go to". It's been a Willett house brand for years, first as a sourced whiskey, then as a homegrown one. Bottled at 101 proof with no age or mashbill given, which means it's at least 4 years old, the nose is green apple, toffee, lemon, and jut a touch of oak. On the palate, the 101 proof is as expected, soft and sweet with a richer fruit and oak mid-palate than what I remember from the past. This is definitely an easier sipper and certainly a Tuesday night "go to".
| Whiskey Review: Calumet 8yr | 22 Jan 2024 | 00:01:21 | |
Tasting Notes: This 90 proof, 8 year old Kentucky bourbon is made with 74% corn, 18$ rye, and 8% malted barley. The nose is soft with notes of burley tobacco, hay, lemon, and leather. The palate is soft and fruity as well with a nice balance of rye spice and barrel spice rounding out a generally very drinkable whiskey. Sometimes a right down the middle sipper for 50 bucks is all you need, and this fits the bill perfectly.
| Absolut Ocean Spray Variety 8pk Cocktails | 19 Jan 2024 | 00:01:08 | |
The combination of Absolut vodka and Ocean Spray cranberry juice has been around for a long time. We're actually surprised it took this long to bring this delicious combo to market, but now it's here! Real vodka, real juice in a variety pack that includes Cran-Pineapple, Cran-Raspberry, and the liquid Pez like Grape flavor that just goes down too easy!
| Whiskey Review: Stagg 23C 125.9 Proof | 18 Jan 2024 | 00:01:26 | |
Tasting Notes: The lowest proof of any Stagg Jr, (now just Stagg) ever released, batch 23C is filled with wild berry aromas, including grape, blackberry, and darker florals. On the palate, initial oak explodes into fruit and spice. Honey, caramel, and nougat along with the continued line of dark fruit fight it out harmoniously with the baking spices. Some fresh apple skins and apple pie cinnamon sugar to finish as well. Big, juicy, worth of the Stagg tag, but actually drinkable at full strength!
| NA Review: Non-Alcoholic Seedlip Garden 108 | 17 Jan 2024 | 00:01:47 | |
Tasting Notes: This alcohol-free, calorie-free "spirit" is made for mixing with a blend of herbs, peas, spearmint, hops, rosemary, and thyme. It's best served over ice with ginger ale and a sprig of mint or rosemary. What you want out of any alcohol-free spirit is some body, flavor, and enough "zip" to stand up and not get run over by the mixer. If you like sipping a cocktail but don't want the alcohol OR calories this Dry January, check out all of Seedlips offerings. Alcohol-Free, Calorie Free, Herbal & Tasty
| Whiskey Review: Penelope Architect | 16 Jan 2024 | 00:01:27 | |
Tasting Notes: Penelope Architect Build no. 7 is bottled at 104 proof and 4 years old, finished with French oak staves from Radouzx in France. The result is a perfumed baking spice driven apple cinnamon tinged dessert whiskey with a whip of spice on the finish. Palate starts with soft fruit, almost cobbler like, then the spice ramps up along with the oak. Fruit remains pliable due to the relatively young age with the additional oak treatment blowing away some of the unwanted younger notes. Overall, a nice spicy offering from a progressive bottler!
| Whisley Review: Traveller Whiskey Blend No 40 Chris Stapleton | 15 Jan 2024 | 00:01:31 | |
Tasting Notes: Comparing the new Chris Stapleton/Harlen Wheatley blended whiskey to OTHER blended American whiskies really isn't fair, as that category has been stuck on the bottom shelf for years, BUT perhaps this new entry at closer to $40 will spark a trend and revive a great American "blending" tradition to reform at the premium price level. At least that's the hope for distillers whose creativity is far more unbound when allowed to combine so many different types to whiskey to come up with a whole better than the sum of it's parts. Traveller is a non-age stated 90 proof blended whiskey with no age statement. The nose is fresh and fruity and inviting with feint vanilla and marshmallow notes with a touch of lemon. On the palate, my guess is some combination of Buffalo Trace ditillate with a decent chunk of vanilla sweet Canadian whiskey. Imagine the love child of Blanton's and Cariboue Crossing at 90 proof and a bit younger. That's why this tastes like with a distinct "blended" whiskey drinkability that will even appeal to a Crown or Johnnie Walker drinker.
| NA Beer Review: Athletic Brewing Free Wave Hazy IPA 6pks | 12 Jan 2024 | 00:01:42 | |
Tasting Notes: 70 Calories, 16 grams of Carbs and less than .5% alcohol, Athletic Brewing's Free Wave is one of the BEST non-alc IPAs out there, with copious amounts of Amarillo, Mosaic and Chinook Hops which create that signature floral and fresh juicy flavors you come to expect in a good hazy. NA Non-Alc IPA that Tastes Great!
| NA Beer Review: Heineken 0.0 NA 6pks | 12 Jan 2024 | 00:01:19 | |
Tasting Notes: The Heineken master brewers started from zero and spent years exploring, brewing, and tasting before they finally created a recipe defined by its refreshing fruity notes and soft malty body - perfectly balanced. One that deserves the Heineken name. Of course, with the uncompromising Heineken® characteristics since 1873: made with top ingredients and the unique Heineken A-Yeast®. The combo of refreshingly fruity and sweet malt make this a GO TO in January.
| Whiskey Review: Weller Single Barrel "Orange Label" | 12 Jan 2024 | 00:01:31 | |
Tasting Notes: The 97 proof orange label "single barrel" of Weller straddles the line between the Special Reserve and Antique, and provides a different take on the normally bathed wheater. Though last year's version left a little to be desired, this year's is a real treat, brimming with Weller leather and spice on the nose, the palate exhibits sweet caramel, tropical fruit, and a chewy nougat that's just the best bourbon "candy" you'll ever taste. Orange label 2023/2024 is dynomite!
| Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Rye | 13 Aug 2024 | 00:01:05 | |
The first edition of Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey aged for six years in rickhouse W3 on the third, fourth and fifth floors. It was bottled at barrel proof without chill filtration at 123.2 proof. The corn seed varietal chosen for this release was Beck’s 6158. The best part of this new Heaven Hill G2G project is the fact that the mashbills are totally different than normal HH. Mashbills. In the case of this rye, it's got 63% rye, 24% corn, and 13% malt. On the nose, this whiskey is HIGHLY perfumed with an almost camphor like aroma, along with wet cedar, very pleasant. On the palate, the 123.2 proof is a spice bomb reminiscent of MGP, extremely drinkable and on par with Thomas H Handy. This may be the sleeper hit of the bunch.
| Whiskey Review: Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson F | 08 Jan 2024 | 00:01:45 | |
Set right up against the banks of the Kentucky River are the metal clad Camp Nelson warehouses owned by and filled with Wild Turkey bourbon. The "Single Rickhouse" project which began last year highlights batches of barrels drawn from single warehouses across the three WT barrel campuses. The 2023 release of Camp Nelson Warehouse F was drawn from floors 4 and 5 and bottled at 117.6 proof. The initial palate is a barrel roll of spice and nougat, herbs and oak, red fruit, and really gentle butterscotch and vanilla. Big, tasty, worth the price profile that just keeps going 30-60 seconds after the sip. Chewy and delicious.
| NA Beer Review: Guinness Non-Alcoholic 0.0 Stout 4pk | 05 Jan 2024 | 00:01:46 | |
The Guinness with everything except the alcohol. Guinness 0.0 boasts the same beautifully smooth taste, perfectly balanced flavor, and unique dark color of Guinness, just without the alcohol. To create Guinness 0.0 the St James’s Gate brewers start by brewing Guinness exactly as they always have, using the same natural ingredients: water, barley, hops, and yeast; before gently removing the alcohol through a cold filtration method. The cold filtration process allows the alcohol to be filtered out without presenting thermal stress to the beer, protecting the integrity of its taste and character. The brewers then carefully blend and balance the flavors to ensure the distinctive flavor profile and taste characteristics of Guinness. The resulting product is a stout that is unmistakably Guinness, just without the alcohol, featuring the same dark, ruby red liquid, and creamy head, hints of chocolate and coffee, smoothly balanced with bitter, sweet, and roasted notes. The Closest NA Beer to the Original
| Tequila Review: Patron Anejo Bourbon World Barrel Select | 04 Jan 2024 | 00:01:36 | |
Tasting Notes: This year's Patron Anejo single barrel select was aged in Limousin oak for a minimum of a year, imparting a creamy, tight grained vanilla and and spice to the fresh pepper and lime soaked base spirit. The butterscotch alongside the lime produce a subtle herb and fruit note that's both tropical and earthy. Heck of a deal at $49.99!
| Beer Review: Corona NA 6pks | 03 Jan 2024 | 00:01:47 | |
Tasting Notes: During "Dry January" liquor stores were the last place you wanted to look for alternatives to drinking, but all of that has changed in recent years with lots of well-known brands jumping on the NA bandwagon, delivering the same high quality flavor with none of the guilt. Enter Corona NA, hands down one of the BEST non-alcoholic beers on the market. Although it still carries 0.5%, it's only 60 calories, which makes it perfect to sit around and sip at a party or gathering.

| Thomas H Handy Rye 2023 - 12 DAYS of SAVINGS Bottle of the DAY | 21 Dec 2023 | 00:01:44 | |
ANYONE SHOPPING AT BOURBON WORLD Dec 21st, 2023, CAN ENTER TO WIN THE RIGHT TO BUY THIS BOTTLE! This year's Thomas H. Handy Rye from the Buffalo Trace Antique collection was distilled in the spring of 2017 and bottled in the fall of 2023 at cask strength of 124.9. The combination of the relatively young age and high proof make these Handy's sweet and oily with fresh citrus notes and a zing of pine from start to finish. Though young, the depth of oak mingled with the spice of the distillate is something to behold. On a big rock, the spice settles down, and the bright young citrus and pine have their way. Make an Old Fashioned with this if you want to experience the sublime!
| Van Winkle 10yr - 12 DAYS of SAVINGS Bottle of the DAY + Everyday Go-To Old Forester 100 Proof | 20 Dec 2023 | 00:01:38 | |
ANYONE SHOPPING AT BOURBON WORLD Dec 20th, 2023, CAN ENTER TO WIN THE RIGHT TO BUY THIS BOTTLE! If people ask which Pappy is the best, it's tough NOT to immediately say "10yr" simply because it's NOT over-oaked at ALL, it's almost the perfect age for a wheated bourbon retaining some citrus, floral, and honey notes that simply get overwhelmed by the barrel after so many years at the 20 and 23 level. AND, it's 107 proof, so it's like drinking a hand-selected premium version of Weller Antique with 2-3 more years on it. How could you ever go wrong! However, since it's the holidays, it's good to have a few BACK UPS in case you don't win. One of my all time favorites is the Old Forester Signature 100 Proof. It's Brown Forman, distilled and aged in Louisville. The heat cycling brick warehouses in the heart of Shivley have been making bourbon magic for decades. The balance of fruit to oak and the sheer drinkability at 100 proof make this a classic decanter worthy whiskey at any wet bar in Louisville!
| Whiskey Review: Birthday Bourbon 2023 | 19 Dec 2023 | 00:01:38 | |

This year's Old Forester Birthday Bourbon bottled at 12yrs old and 96 proof is the best Old Fo BB I've tasted in years. Love the 12 years of age. Love the low proof 96. Signature brown sugar with elegant oak, fruit, cocoa, caramel, and big soft buffetings toffee and spice.
| Whiskey Review: Van Winkle 10yr | 18 Dec 2023 | 00:01:46 | |
12 DAYS of SAVINGS Bottle of the DAY ANYONE SHOPPING AT BOURBON WORLD Dec 18th, 2023, CAN ENTER TO WIN THE RIGHT TO BUY THIS BOTTLE! How could you ever go wrong?
| Whiskey Review: Parker's Heritage Rye 10yr 2023 Release | 15 Dec 2023 | 00:01:19 | |
12 DAYS of SAVINGS Bottle of the DAY ANYONE SHOPPING AT BOURBON WORLD Dec 15th, 2023, CAN ENTER TO WIN THE RIGHT TO BUY THIS BOTTLE! This year's Parker's Heritage is a barrel proof rye bottled at 128.8 proof. Striking the right balance between rye spice and barrel spice, this year's release exhibited smoked meats and smoldering oak fire on the nose with ginger, brine, and orange fruit emerging. On the palate, intensely chewy rye, bready at first, then sharp and textural. This ain't a starter whiskey. The oak is dark, but eventually lets the grain come out and play as you chew. Fruit is obliterated on the finish leaving nothing but a tingling oak sensation. Blockbuster and worthy of the name!

12 DAYS of SAVINGS Bottle of the DAY ANYONE SHOPPING AT BOURBON WORLD Dec 14th, 2023, CAN ENTER TO WIN THE RIGHT TO BUY THIS BOTTLE! The combination of drinkability due to the relatively low proof of 90.4 and the bite of 12yrs of oak aging along with the soft creamy spice of the wheated mash makes this the "go to" Pappy in the lineup. Drink it like Julian with a twist of lemon and a big rock. You'll love it!

| Whiskey Review: Angel's Envy Cask Strength 2023 Edition | 12 Dec 2023 | 00:01:45 | |
Tasting Notes: This year's 2023 release of Angel's Envy Cask Strength weighs in at 118.2 proof. These are hand selected barrels that spend extra time in port cask, aged between 5 and 9 years. The result is a maximally delicious fruit! Big red fruit, especially apple and pear on the nose. Touch of herbs with mint and eucalyptus leading along with feint honey. On the palate, a tremendous mid-palate fruit and honey platter with the darker fruits playing supporting roles. Tastes like a barrel aged top floor Old Forester single barrel with the fruit turned up to 11!
