The Laws of Stan – Details, episodes & analysis

For the final episode of season 1 of The Laws of Stan, I would like to conclude my streak of 14 episodes with a loop. The first episode of my 14-episode challenge began with the applications of mathematics in Quantitative Finance, featuring Lucas Ambroz, a back-office quant trader from Bank of America. Later, I recorded a second episode on the same topic with a front-office quant from BNP Paribas. 🏦

To offer more diversity, I decided not to post the second episode immediately and instead kept it as a draft to be released as a bonus at the end of the season. This exercise helped me better understand my progression throughout the episodes. 

Hence, I am pleased to finally reveal the final episode of this season, featuring Ange Valli, a quantitative trader at BNP Paribas.📈

As I approach the end of the first season of "The Laws of Stan," I took the liberty of recording an episode featuring not one, but two incredibly inspirational guests: Jason Plant and Nicole King, respectively CEO and Lead Engineer of Hydrophos Solution, a young company aiming to develop technologies for extracting phosphorus from wastewater and reselling it to the fertiliser industry. 🌻

As I sought to broaden my interest in the extensive network of applied mathematics, I stumbled upon a venture launched by young Americans in the chemical industry. 🧪⚛️

A few days ago, I shared my perspective on the current polarization in our society. I discussed how algorithms influence people's mindsets by providing increasingly tailored content that individuals are more likely to enjoy. These mathematical algorithms are based on a concept known as collaborative filtering.

After his first experience as a founder in the tech industry, Jonathan co-founded Qolaig, a company that helps you create tailor-made digital assistants to automate your processes and repetitive tasks using AI, with two of his best friends. 👨‍💻

In this episode, he explains, as an applied mathematics graduate from King's College and LSE, how quantitative methods help him in his day-to-day activities as the COO of Qolaig. ⚙️
