| Pick a Card, Find Your JOY: Tarot for Beginners and Sceptics with Kate May | 22 Oct 2026 | 00:38:34 | |
Do you tarot? Have you got an Oracle deck? or are you a full cynic like I once was?! Perhaps you pulled a card and felt it was speaking directly to you? Back in 2016, in the deepest, darkest depression of my life, I found myself on retreat here in Yorkshire, picking a card from the little deck on the entrance desk every single visit. And every single time, it felt like exactly what I needed to hear. This is the second episode in my series on the spiritual practices that helped me find my way back to joy, and I am delighted to welcome Kate May, The Modern Day Mystic, to the Joy Broadcast. Kate has been reading tarot professionally for around 20 years. Her story begins with free cards from a magazine, a teenage summer job printing astrology reports at the end of a pier, and a palm reader who told her she would marry twice and work in America. Thirty years later, she discovered that same palm reader was about to become her mother-in-law. Goosebumps! Key takeaway: Take time out to reflect, but keep one eye open for the opportunity floating in on the wind. Step into your power, get seen, and remember there is still time to make the magic happen this year. Whether you are a curious beginner, a cynic (like I was ten years ago!), or already have a deck on your bedside table, this episode is an invitation to reconnect with your intuition and feel good doing it. After all, that’s the aim of the game. | JOY & Manifesting with Victoria Jackson | 15 Oct 2026 | 00:38:30
Welcome to the very first episode of a brand new series on The Joy Broadcast! After celebrating 100 episodes, I wanted to do something different. This series brings together a collective of incredible people whose work and modalities have helped me on my own journey back to joy. Manifestation. Visualisation. Energy work. Sound healing. All the things the corporate version of me would have rolled her eyes at a decade ago. Each episode, you’ll meet one of the teachers who showed up exactly when I needed them, and you’ll hear how their tools could help you too. And who better to open the series than the woman who gave me one of the most powerful experiences of my life? At Manifest in 2025, Victoria Jackson guided a room full of us through a visualisation that brought me to ugly, glorious tears. I saw the beach house. The curtains blowing in the wind. My husband surrounded by our grandchildren. A wall of photographs from a life well lived. It wasn’t a daydream. It felt like a memory of my future. Victoria was once the biggest cynic. A menswear magazine editor travelling the world, meeting Vivienne Westwood and Tom Ford, invited to Downing Street, and deeply unhappy. Crying on the M62, hair falling out, heart racing. When a friend suggested The Secret, she thought it was absolute rubbish. Then something clicked. Gratitude. A pink feather in an envelope. £125, to the exact pound. And the morning she told her colleagues she’d manifested her way out of her job, the whole department was made redundant by lunchtime. Today, Victoria is the founder of The Manifestation Collective, an author of three books, and a self-confessed “slow manifester”. Together we explore why detachment speeds things up, why you must become the person who can hold the magic rather than simply receive it, and how visualisation works as a dress rehearsal for who you’re becoming. Cynic or believer, this one is for you. In this episode we explore

| Joy 101: My Three Rampages for JOY! | 08 Oct 2026 | 00:18:58 | |
Welcome to episode 101, and what better way to celebrate than going back to Joy 101? In this short, sharp episode, Ali shares three of her favourite joy tools. These are the ones she reaches for herself and uses with her Brilliance clients and Joy Rebels whenever life delivers a plot twist, a sticky season, a power pivot, or a detour down the rabbit hole on the way to purpose. Each one is a "rampage": a stream of consciousness you can speak out loud in the car, voice note on a dog walk, or scribble in your journal. Use them one at a time or all three together. Rampage 1: The Gratitude Rampage (to lift your mood) Rampage 2: The Shit-Shifting Rampage Release (when you feel heavy and stuck) Rampage 3: The Casting Spells Rampage (to vision your future) Also in this episode:
Your invitation this week: Pick the rampage you need most right now and try it on your next drive or walk. Ali would love to hear how it goes. | Silly me, thinking 100 JOY episodes wasn't enough! | 01 Oct 2026 | 00:20:14
In this very special milestone episode of The Joy Broadcast, Ali shares the funny story of how she discovered she'd reached episode 100 (spoiler: Buzzsprout didn't tell her). It happened on a Monday afternoon when that familiar inner voice was loudly insisting she hadn't done enough, wasn't far enough along, and should be doing more. Ali takes you inside her "Just On You" moment, the powerful reframe her mentor offered, and the simple look-back exercise that turned shame into pride. She also reveals how a voice that once felt like a stick to beat herself with became something far lighter and far more magical: her Joy Fairy, complete with bliss bubble and wand. If you're an ambitious woman who always sees the gap between where you are and where you want to be, this one is for you. In this episode:
Two exercises to take away:

| JoY Nesting & My Tanzania 'Hell Yes' | 24 Sep 2026 | 00:34:25 | |
What if the empty nest wasn't empty at all? In this episode, recorded on the autumn equinox, Ali floats a new phrase she wants to become a household term: joy nesting, the new empty nesting. With her eldest just off to university, Ali shares how she has turned fear into joy, and why this matters whether you're waving off children or letting go of a business or career you've built for years. She walks through the three Ps that so often hold the fear: the people (who am I with now?), the purpose (what do I do with all this time and headspace?) and the person (who am I now?), and how they tie back to her 'who, do and you' framework. Ali talks about some of the very relevant conversations around fear and reconnecting with your partner, redefining success for this era, using your values as a lens for big decisions, and creating a joyful nest your children will want to come home to, both physically and energetically. She also shares the story behind her own joy nesting initiation: a hell yes to travelling to Tanzania with The Lyra Walk, walking alongside girls on their long journey to school, and how she tested that decision against her values of grit, growth, gratitude, grace, genuine and generosity. | The JOY of Food, Hormones & Falling Back in Love With Your Plate with Kimberly Parsons | 05 Sep 2026 | 00:53:52
This week I'm joined by the wonderful Kimberly Parsons, naturopath, author of The Yoga Kitchen cookbooks (has been one of my favourites for over a decade!), and founder of Naturalli, the app helping women eat in sync with their hormones. If you've ever felt afraid of food, confused by conflicting advice, or just exhausted by trying to figure out what your body actually needs, this episode is for you. Kimberly and I talk about her journey from a childhood spent in her nonna's Italian kitchen garden in Melbourne, to an accidental career as a private chef in the Alps, to building a business dedicated to helping women understand the deep, beautiful link between food, joy, and hormonal health. In this episode
Kimberly's mission, in her own words: every woman should be able to advocate for herself and make empowered, informed decisions about her hormones but she can't do that without the education most of us were never given. | Joy Rebel Sue: Finding Gratitude Through Loss, Career Change and Cancer | 27 Aug 2026 | 00:39:12
In this episode, Ali sits down with 'joy rebel' Sue to talk about the years that took her from a high-pressure corporate career to becoming a performance coach via grief, a global pandemic, and a breast cancer diagnosis she wasn't expecting. In this episode: Sue first connected with Ali's meditations back in 2020, during the depths of the pandemic, when she was living in Cheltenham but separated from her family in North Manchester. She talks honestly about what it was like when work and home collapsed into the same four walls and how meditation, horse riding and running became her way of staying grounded. In early 2021, Sue's family contracted COVID, and she lost her brother-in-law suddenly. Unable to be with her sister or attend the funeral because of lockdown restrictions, Sue found her way through by starting a gratitude journalling practice something she and Ali dig into together, with a nod to Brené Brown and Liz Gilbert along the way. That loss became a turning point. Sue left her permanent corporate role and trained as a performance coach, eventually building a private client base alongside part-time corporate work. 2024 brought a run of good things training for SEMA, a tenth wedding anniversary trip, and a solo wellness retreat in Formentera, Ibiza. It also brought an unexpected discovery: a concerning finding during a mammogram follow-up while she was away, which led to biopsies and, in October 2024, a diagnosis of early-stage but aggressive breast cancer. Sue takes us through the eighteen months that followed; starting chemotherapy just over two weeks after diagnosis, the emotional and logistical weight of treatment, and how she kept herself steady by honouring her emotions rather than pushing them down, and by staying grateful for the small things: being able to move, being able to eat, being surrounded by people who showed up for her. Treatment concluded this May. Sue is now taking the summer to consider what's next but she knows project management isn't part of it, but coaching and a search for what genuinely brings her joy are. Sue's closing message: don't wait for the "right time" to pursue what makes you happy.
| Joy Rebel Sally: 'Space to Nurture' & Courage to listen to yourself | 20 Aug 2026 | 00:35:25 | |
This week Ali is joined by Sally, a Joy Rebellion VIP member and someone she first connected with through a shared love of Feng Shui, before meeting in person at Mani-FEST in 2025. Sally shares her story across three decades of work, complementary therapy, midwifery, public health, Feng Shui, and now training as a coach, and the common thread running through all of it, supporting people through change. They talk about the year Sally moved to France with a six month old, the loneliness she didn't see coming, and the decision to move back to the UK, one she once saw as failure and now recognises as one of the first times she truly listened to herself. They talk about midwifery, about what it means to hold space for someone else's biggest transitions, and about the eighteen months Sally has spent putting herself back at the top of her own list. Ali and Sally also get into the sandwich decades, the mental load of ageing parents alongside children who are technically grown but still need you, and what Ali now calls 'joy nesting' rather than empty nesting. Sally shares her Human Design, a line three five, the trial and error, the rebel who takes a framework and makes it her own. And she leaves listeners with two small, powerful practices, opening the front door each morning to let stagnant energy out and good energy in, and scheduling a two minute reset into your day. | Joy Rebel Kay Manby : finding love & beauty always in all ways | 13 Aug 2026 | 00:39:05
This week I am joined by a woman I have known for almost a decade and who I consider one of the wisest people in my world. Kay Manby has lived more chapters than most of us will in a lifetime. A young marriage that did not survive. Eight years raising three children alone. A second marriage to the love of her life. And then watching that love, Jim, go through cancer. What Kay has built from that loss is extraordinary. She trained as a yoga teacher in her sixties, taught women in probation, qigong, became a celebrant who has sat beside the dying and written the words spoken at their funerals. She talks in this episode about fear as a driver rather than an enemy, about grief taking the ground out from under you, and about a stranger in a taxi who once told her every new day is a blank piece of paper. We talk about her five one Manifestor profile and what it means to work in bursts rather than constantly. About amateur dramatics at nearly seventy and the buzz of doing the thing that terrifies you. And about her simple, powerful message for anyone listening. Notice beauty everywhere. Love generously. Live gently. Laugh often. This is a conversation to come back to again and again. | The Joy of 8-8 & the Lionsgate meditation | 06 Aug 2026 | 00:28:50
The Lionsgate Portal Meditation The final part in Ali's three part series on dreaming again. This episode is a guided meditation, recorded a few years ago for Ali's Devoted mastermind, and returned to every year for the Lionsgate portal. Where the last two episodes were about the practical work, the telescope, the compass, head, heart, soul, self, this one hands it over to the heart. No thinking, no figuring it out, just opening up and letting the images, ideas and whispers come through in their own time. Ali releases this on the 7th of August so it's ready for when the Lionsgate portal is it's most powerful on the 8th. The energy runs through to the New Moon in Leo on the 12th, so use it once, or come back to it every day through that window, whichever feels right. You can do this lying down, sitting, walking, or resting. (Just not while driving.) How to use it Joy Rebellion Close

As we continue towards the Lionsgate portal - here is your preparation for one of the most powerfully energetic portals for manifesting your dreams. This week Ali talks about giving herself permission to dream again, especially at the point in life where so much of the original dream has already come true. She shares the process she uses to build a new dream from scratch, the telescope and the compass she walks every dream through before she acts on it: head, heart, soul, self. She also talks about her dad's 90th birthday, what he told her about happiness at ninety, and why she's letting herself get properly delusional about what comes next, ahead of the Lionsgate portal on the 8th of the 8th. | Joy Rebel Claire Louise: Iridescence and the return to yourself | 16 Jul 2026 | 00:33:09
This week I am continuing my summer series, sitting down with the brilliant women of the Joy Rebellion to share their stories. And this conversation is such a beautiful one. Claire Louise has been part of the Joy Rebellion and Joy in HD™ over the past year, and her story is one of the most beautiful I have heard. A childhood spent feeling like she did not quite fit. A life that looked successful from the outside, the career, the marriage, the family, while something kept growing quietly disconnected underneath. And then a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis that became, in her words, her body's way of saying we cannot keep living like this. We talk about her discovery of Human Design and the moment she finally understood her own 3/6 profile. About iridescence, the phenomenon where a cloud holds every colour all along and simply needs the light to shift to reveal it. That is the whole philosophy behind her work now, helping women see that they were never broken and never needed fixing. Just a different light. We talk about trust without certainty. About clarity coming from movement, not from waiting until everything makes sense. And about her grandmother, rainbows, and the silver linings she has learned to find inside the hardest situations. If you have ever felt like you have drifted from who you really are, this episode is for you. Find Claire Louise Instagram: @clairelouise.iridescence Joy Rebellion This is exactly the kind of story that lives inside the Joy Rebellion every single week. | Joy Rebel Jacky: The return to self and the mindset ceiling | 09 Jul 2026 | 00:40:27
A powerful addition to the Joy Rebel Summer series. Jacoline, Feng Shui practitioner and the voice behind the return to self work, joins me to explain something that changed how I think about elevation and growth. She calls it the mindset ceiling. The idea that when we are trying to shift or elevate our identity, we cannot simply leap to the next level. We have to first restabilise the environment beneath us, because that environment is what creates the floor that lets us push beyond the ceiling we have unknowingly built for ourselves. We talk about cycle nine and the rising of mature, wiser feminine energy. About the question underneath all of it, who am I without my business, without my success, without wife, without mother. And about trust. Jacoline's line, a bird does not trust the branch it sits on, it trusts its wings, is one I remember from my own days of remembering who I was in the darkness. A beautiful, brief reminder that returning to yourself is not about becoming someone new. It is about trusting what is already there. | Joy Rebel Trudi: The shark that rocked her boat | 02 Jul 2026 | 00:44:18
This episode starts with a shark jumping over a kayak. And honestly, it only gets better from there! Trudi joins me from Australia to share a story about labels, about a lifetime spent wearing them, daughter, dancer, business owner, mother, and slowly discovering that underneath every one of them was simply her. We talk about her son Gibson, born early and unexpected after she and her husband had been told they would likely never conceive, and the journey of understanding neurodivergence that came alongside raising him. We talk about being told her whole life that quiet and compliant was the safest way to be, and about finally deciding she no longer wants that. About discovering Human Design and what it means to be a two four, someone who only truly sees her own brilliance reflected back by the people around her. And about the moment last year when her body, quite literally, put her on her backside and forced her to stop. That stop became kayaking. The kayaking became a shark. And the shark became the wake up call that led her back to herself, to her poetry, and to the beginning of Strump Art and Kids Without Labels, the platform she is now building to support other parents walking a similar path. This is a conversation about asking for more, even when life already looks good. About filling your own well instead of pouring from an empty cup. And about rocking your own boat on purpose. | The Joy of Ranting, Rambling & Raving with Leesa Collinge | 25 Jun 2026 | 00:39:53
This week's guest built something extraordinary out of the worst thing that ever happened to her. Leesa lost her mum to lung cancer within nine months, a diagnosis nobody saw coming. In the depths of that grief, unable to sleep, on a rising dose of medication that left her numb, she started walking. Just walking and talking with a friend, at every hour, because it was the only thing that helped. That walking group grew. And grew. Until it became Rant and Ramble, a movement of women across the country who gather to walk, to talk, to dance without a drink in hand, and to feel less alone. We talk about the coffee raves that started with twenty people and grew to five hundred. About the retreats that began because Leesa needed somewhere to switch her own brain off. About the power of sound healing and reiki for a woman who walked in convinced it was nonsense. And about the incredible collaboration coming this July with Davina McCall and the Begin Again podcast. This is a conversation about grief, about community, and about what happens when you turn your pain into something that helps thousands of other women feel that bit of joy. | The Joy of Manifesting an Apple Watch! | 18 Jun 2026 | 00:22:30
I'm recording this one from my armchair. Which feels entirely appropriate, because what I'm about to share with you started in a moment of complete surrender. Not a boardroom, not a strategy session, not a list of goals. Just me, trusting that things would work out. I've just come back from the most incredible weekend at Manifest in Newcastle (Canny Crystals and Mart Tweedy's extraordinary event) and it sent me straight back to the story that became the foundation of everything I now teach about magic manifesting. The story of an Apple Watch. This episode is a mini masterclass. I'm giving you the complete five A formula, the one I've run as a Magic Manifesting Week multiple times, the one that has seen women in The Joy Rebellion manifest freedom funds, dream jobs, Caribbean trips, visibility they never thought possible, and daughters making football teams. It works. I also share the science that backs it up completely. The reticular activating system, Tara Swart's work on the mind, the Hawkins Scale of Consciousness. This isn't woo woo. This is how your brain actually works. Come and get comfortable. This one's for you. Favourite quotes from this episode "When you get so fixated on the delivery being in a specific way at a certain time, it doesn't always work. But sometimes the universe can blow your fucking mind and it comes out of left field and gives it to you in a way you never expected." "Our minds are our greatest asset. They can either fire you up or they can fuck you up. And you get to choose." "Those who are certain of the outcome can wait and wait without anxiety." A Course in Miracles "I don't have to sell anything. I just have to share my stories of my life. And that is the sell." "It's like placing the order with Apple or Amazon. Place the order. And then hand it over." Links mentioned in this episode
Coming up on The Joy Broadcast Ali is heading off on her summer family holiday and she's leaving you in the very best hands. | Joy Nesting, Emotional Rollercoasters and the Era That's All About You | 11 Jun 2026 | 00:27:06
This week Ali is sharing something close to her heart. Tom, her eldest son, has just finished his final A-level, and with it, an entire chapter of life has come to a close. In this episode she takes you into the lay-by on the side of the road where she had to pull over because the tears wouldn't stop. The full circle moment. The rush of pride, grief, love and terror all at once. And from that place she asks a question that changes everything: why would you want to regulate this emotion? This is an episode about emotions and why feeling them fully, all of them, is not something to be managed or controlled but something to be honoured. About the midlife transition so many women are standing in right now. About what it really means when the children start to fly. About why Ali refuses to call it empty nesting and what she's calling it instead. If you're in this season, approaching it, or supporting someone who is, this one is for you. In This Episode
Quotes From This Episode "Why would you want to regulate that feeling? I have never felt so alive." "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving completely safe and preserved and pristine. We're going to be skidding up to those pearly gates, totally spent, totally exhilarated, going — holy fck, what a ride."* "Nothing is wrong. Your feelings are finally getting their turn." "We're not the people who go to the fairground and ride in the teacups. We're the people who run for the roller coaster." "Joy Nesting. Because we have created a home with joy, and they will always come back to it." Mentioned In This Episode

| JOY in HD: Chartering the Unchartered for Tom, my 18 year old | 05 Jun 2026 | 00:51:15 | |
This podcast is a A real masterclass, using my eighteen-year-old as the live case study. If you wish to follow along with your chart, your child's chart or someone you know, you can download and get your chart here: https://www.alimortimer.com/human-design-introduction My eldest son Tom finishes his final A level on Tuesday. Eighteen years old, the whole world in front of him, and a thousand possible paths to choose from. Uni, gap year, apprenticeship, something else entirely. How do we guide them without overriding them? So this week on the Joy Broadcast, I'm doing something a little different. I'm pulling up Tom's Human Design chart in front of you and walking through, line by line, exactly how I'm using it to support him at this pivotal moment. His energy type as a Generator. His emotional authority. His G Centre. His 2/4 Profile. The three gates I'm watching most closely. The Triple Split that means he needs more space than most to make a decision. I've had Tom's chart in front of me for five years now. It was first gifted to me by a coach back in 2021, and the closest way I can describe what reading it did for me was like looking into a mirror that had been really, really dirty and finally getting to clean it all off. That's what it does. It hands you back yourself. And once I'd had mine, I did Tom's, Will's and James's. We started using these charts almost like guidebooks for our boys, who are very, very different in how they live and how they make decisions. Honestly, I think every parent should be given one of these the moment they have a child. The thing I want every parent to hear: The more we tell our children who they are, the harder it becomes for them to hear themselves. So in this episode, I'm not telling Tom who he is. I'm using his chart to help him hear himself. And I'm walking you through exactly how to do the same for your child, whether they're standing at the school-leaver crossroads, navigating a friendship, choosing subjects, or simply trying to figure out who they are in the world. What I'm doing differently with Tom right now: Stop asking them what they want to do with their life. Start asking them what would feel good right now. What feels frustrating. What feels yummy. What's being offered. What's being shown. That one shift, especially for Generator children, is how they will navigate unchartered waters. My takeaway: Parenting isn't directing. It's recognising. Your child's design is already inside them, waiting to be seen. Human Design just helps you take the noise off so they can hear themselves, and so you can stop trying to mould them into a version that was never theirs. It's the permission slip for them to be themselves. And honestly, for us to let them. A very special pop-up | 9th June 2026 To mark the day Tom finishes school, I'm hosting a Pop-Up Joy Day. | The Three E's: Bringing the JOY to how I look after my body, my mind and my future self | 29 May 2026 | 00:29:41
This week I am letting you in on a very real, very honest moment. I went to the doctors for an HRT check this week and the scales told me I had put on three kilos. Once upon a time, that would have sent me into a flat spin. This time? I sat with it, got curious, and decided it was exactly what I wanted to talk about on the podcast. My health, your health does not have to be complicated. And the women I work with, the ones running businesses and homes and families and ageing parents, do not need another twelve step protocol. They need it simple. They need it doable. They need it to fit into a life that is already full. So I am walking you through my Three E's. The framework I come back to again and again, for health now and longevity long term. Eat for fuel. What you are actually doing in your day decides what you need on your plate. Whole foods, good protein, plenty of water. Not fancy. Not complicated. Just real. Exercise. Walk daily. Move daily. Add weight bearing work for your bones, your strength, your future self. It does not have to be hours in a gym or running a marathon (unless that brings you joy!) Easy does it. The hardest one for me. Stillness, sleep, joy moments, the breath work, the meditation, the protected pockets of quiet to ensure your cortisol drops, your digestion turns back on, and your brain does its night time clearing out, which I learned through my research into Alzheimer's is so much more important than most of us realise. This episode is part personal share, part practical framework, part gentle nudge to put yourself back near the top of your own list. Mentioned in this episode This week's Substack: The 'F-Ugly' Girl in the Mirror → [read it here] Lean for Life, the four week programme I co-host with nutritionist Tiffany Rowlands, inside the Rose Library with access through the Joy Rebellion Ready to go deeper & lock in your joy? No chart to hand? No problem — listen anyway. Everything in this episode applies to you, whether you know your design or not. About this episode This week's episode is my keynote speach recorded as a dress rehearsal before I delivered it live at Grantley Hall, for the brilliant charity SmartWorks, who help women back into the workplace after a loss of confidence. Ten years ago, I had no confidence at all. I'd separated from James, lost my mum, left my corporate career, and I had two small boys and no idea who I was without all the things that used to define me. No title. No team. No map. No salary. No mum to call. I had to build my confidence back from nothing. This episode is the recipe I found. The five ingredients — and the one thing that binds them all together. In this episode I walk you through my five ingredients of confidence: inner strength, self-leadership, courage, truth, and power and the one binding ingredient: JOY. Just On You. My favourite line of the whole episode: joy isn't the reward for getting confident. Joy is the practice that makes confidence inevitable. Mentioned in this episode This week on Substack — Be the Peach, Not the Egg. The values work behind ingredient one and ingredient four. Why your core values are your morning activators, your anchors in a storm, and your antidote to poison arrows. → https://open.substack.com/pub/alimortimerjoycoach/p/be-the-peach-not-the-egg-that-cracks?r=5z4r5f&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web SmartWorks — the charity behind the Grantley Hall event, helping women across the country back into the workplace and into their confidence. | The JOY of turning your 'Imposter' in to a Friend. | 15 May 2026 | 00:35:09
This week's episode talks about your Fear Gates in Human Design, the specific places fear shows up in your body, your mind, and your decisions, based on your unique design. If you'd like to know yours before you press play, get your free Human Design chart here → FREE HUMAN DESIGN CHART LINK You'll need your date, time, and place of birth. If you don't have it to hand, no problem at all, listen anyway. Everything in this episode applies to you, whether you know your design or not.
I have a real bee in my bonnet about the phrase "imposter syndrome." I want it banished. In 1978, two psychologists coined a term that gave generations of brilliant, boundary-pushing, ambitious women the worst possible name for the voice inside them. They called her an imposter. They told us to distrust her. Silence her. Override her. She isn't an imposter. She is fear. And fear, when you understand her, is one of the most important voices in the room. In this episode I walk you through: – Why "imposter syndrome" is the most dangerous label we've handed to high-achieving women – The only two fears you were actually born with (and what that means for every other fear running your life) – Your Fear Gates in Human Design — what they are, where they live, and why knowing yours changes everything – How to invite your fear friends in for coffee instead of trying to kick them out – Why fear is evidence that what you're doing actually matters If you've ever called yourself an imposter, or had that voice tell you you're not enough, not ready, not allowed, please listen to this one. And then share it with a woman who needs to hear it.
📖 This week on Substack — Dear Boo, you were right. Vulnerability is the bloody stone. | Know your JOY Values: Your 'secret' antidote & daily mandatory supplement | 08 May 2026 | 00:31:44
After listening to this episode and you know you want to do this work properly? The I Know Me, I Love Me Life Lab is the workshop that walks you through finding your core values, so you can love yourself, and the woman you are, by actually living them. It's free in Monday 11th May 2026 edition of The Joy Brief, or it lives permanently inside The Joy Rebellion membership. Links at the bottom. ↓
This might be one of the most important conversations Ali has ever brought to The Joy Broadcast. It's the work she returns to with every Brilliance client. It's the work she returns to with herself, every morning, before her feet hit the floor. Your values. Not the easy answer of "integrity and honesty". The real ones. The ones you can rattle off when someone asks who you are. The ones that become your path, your conviction, your courage, your antidote. Because as Ali says: when you know who you are, you can stand tall when the poison arrows come. You don't need to zip yourself up in an energetic sleeping bag. You don't need to be the eggshell, terrified of cracking. You get to be the peach, soft on the outside, with a kernel so strong the world can't break it.
A genuine, behind-the-scenes share, Ali reading from her own journal, walking you through:
"My values are the path I walk every day. I don't need boundaries, because I know who I am, and I know the path I'm walking."
If something in this stirred you, triggered you, activated you, that's the friction worth listening to. Go and do the work. Get the blank sheet. Write everything down. Cluster. Distil. Define. And then live them.

| Joy in the Sh*t, Diamonds, & Russian dolls | 01 May 2026 | 00:22:08 | |
Welcome back after the Easter break. This week I'm sharing two tools I've been using personally and walking my Brilliance clients through over recent weeks — because when I find myself saying the same thing on repeat in private sessions, I know it's time to broadcast it. The first is what I've started calling the shit and the diamonds — the recognition that life rarely hands you triumph in every area at once. Your career might be hitting milestones while your home life is heavy. Your relationship might be thriving while work is falling apart. The trick isn't to pretend the hard stuff isn't there. It's to stop letting it smother the good stuff. The woman in you holds the emotional work. The CEO in you leads the diamonds. Two hands. Don't clap them together. The second tool is one I've been teaching for years and had a fresh personal breakthrough with this week — the Russian Doll effect. I don't believe in finding yourself or becoming her. I believe every version of you you've ever been is still valid, still wise, still part of who you are now. But sometimes, after a betrayal or a trauma, we leave a doll behind. We abandon a version of ourselves we decided wasn't safe to be anymore. This week I went back for two of mine, the trusting woman I left in 2016, and the financially independent corporate professional I left in 2014, and the relief of putting them back inside me is what this episode is really about. This is deeper work than usual. Take it as an invitation.
The Joy Rebellion: my membership where we lock in your joy every single week. Coaching, mentoring, celebration, community. Doors are always open. Joy Rebellion link Brilliance: private one-to-one mentorship for when you're navigating something genuinely shitty and need deeper support. Book a conversation and we'll see where you fit. Brilliance link The Joy Brief: the weekly edit for women who know that joy is the most powerful place to create from - the quick links & weekly exclusive offers Joy Brief link
Send it to a woman who's currently holding diamonds in one hand and something much heavier in the other. And if you have a Russian Doll story, a version of yourself you're ready to welcome back, I'd love to hear it. My DMs and inbox are always open. Subscribe so you don't miss next week. And if you've got a moment, a rating or review helps more women find The Joy Broadcast.
| Dressing for Joy (and Why Well-Dressed Is a State of Mind) with Dahlia Stroud | 23 Apr 2026 | 00:32:49 | |
What do you wear on the day you've been made redundant? The day your confidence is on the floor? The day you're trying to remember who the hell you are without the job title? This week on The Joy Broadcast, I'm joined by the wonderful Dahlia Stroud, someone I haven't seen for the best part of 15 years, since our Asda House days in Leeds. Dahlia went from Head of Commercial with a full diary and a ringing phone to "here one day, gone the next" overnight. And out of that lost-purpose, all-dressed-up-with-nowhere-to-go season, she built Stressed But Well Dressed, a podcast (and a philosophy) about the link between clothes, confidence, and mindset. This one is for every woman who has ever asked herself, who am I now? and every woman who already knows that what she puts on in the morning is never really just about the outfit. Favourite moments "I was all dressed up with nowhere to go." — Dahlia, on the season that birthed the podcast"Joy isn't fluff, it's fucking physics.""The opposite of happiness isn't sadness — it's hopelessness.""Dress for the best-case opportunity that could absolutely happen." — Dahlia"Well-dressed is a state of mind, not a fashion statement." — DahliaFind Dahlia
Continue your journey with JOY If this one stirred something, the question of who am I now, or the quiet wondering about whether you're dressing for the day you're actually hoping for — come and stay close.
Remember, JOY is Just On You. Put something on this morning that the 80-year-old you will be glad you wore. Ali x
| The Joy of Colour: How Your Home Can Change Your Life with Becky Harrison | 17 Apr 2026 | 00:38:32 | |
There's a reason you walk into some rooms and immediately feel at ease and others that leave you flat without knowing why. This week's guest has built her whole practice around that mystery, and the answer almost always comes back to one thing: colour. Becky Harrison is an interior designer, psychology graduate, and Joy Rebellion member who brings a beautifully grounded, science-meets-soul approach to how we live in our homes. After 16 years in corporate project management — where her love for buildings quietly grew — she made the leap into design. Now she helps families create homes that don't just look good, but feel good. And she's doing it right now from inside her own renovation project, which makes this conversation all the more real. We talk colour, obviously. But we also go much deeper: into fear, judgment, Feng Shui, the psychology of clutter, and why the first question Becky asks a client has nothing to do with their favourite shade. Becky's quick-win tips you can use right now: Create a joy corner — a dedicated spot in your home with the things that bring you joy close at hand: candles, crystals, books, whatever's yours. Having it set up means you can access joy quickly without hunting for it. Build happy views — little vignettes at your desk or at the table. A piece of artwork, some flowers, something that catches your eye and delivers a small shot of dopamine while you work. Bring in pops of colour through nature — daffodils on the windowsill, a yellow vase, an orange throw. Small changes to the colour in a room lift the energy, which lifts your mood. Connect with Becky: Instagram: @beckyharrisondesigns Website: beckyharrisondesigns.co.uk Becky works primarily across the south west of England but will travel for the right project. If you want to embrace colour in your home, she's your person. Loved this episode? Come and join us inside The Joy Rebellion — the community Becky calls her reset. £22 a month. And if this conversation sparked something, share it with a friend who's been staring at Farrow & Ball paint cards for six months and still hasn't committed. | The Joy of Reclaiming your Space with Steph McConachy | 11 Apr 2026 | 00:38:53
As part of our Easter inspiration series, celebrating women who inspire me and whose stories I know will inspire you, I'm joined by the wonderful Steph McConachy, founder of Nine Lemons Feng Shui. We met through the magic of Instagram and our mutual friend Kimberly Gallagher, and I have loved watching Steph's extraordinary journey unfold. In just three months, she grew her audience from 3,000 to 30,000 followers and she credits Feng Shui. This conversation is joyful, practical, and deeply moving. We talk about the power of your home to support your life, your business, and your healing, and how making small, intentional changes to your space can create profound shifts in everything from your visibility to your nervous system. What We Cover 🍋 Why nine lemons? The story behind the name, from the power of the number nine in Feng Shui (we're in Cycle Nine!) and a secret nod to Real Housewives, to the Susan Jeffers "nine grid" and why a full life is the ultimate insurance policy. 🗺️ The Bagua Map explained. The nine areas of your life mapped to your home: knowledge, career, helpful people, family, health, children and creativity, wealth, fame and reputation, and love. Steph walks us through how she reads a floor plan and what she can tell about someone's life just from where the bathrooms are. 📈 How Steph went from 3,000 to 30,000 followers in three months by intentionally activating the fame, visibility and recognition area of her home, cleaning the windows, replacing dull bulbs, placing a plant, and setting clear, specific intentions. 🌿 The power of intention setting. Why Feng Shui is not just putting lemons on a bench. How to speak to your home, talk to your plants, and use the nine areas as a 3D vision board for the life you want to create. 🏠 Your home holds energy. Steph shares her deeply personal story of losing her son, buying a house in grief, and eventually using Feng Shui to reclaim her space and move forward. This led to her brand new programme Reclaim Your Space, for anyone navigating a major life transition. 💼 The command position. Why where you sit at your desk matters more than you think, how cortisol levels drop when your back is against a wall, and why so many brilliant women are running seven-figure businesses from a corner of the spare room, shoved aside for a bed that gets used seven nights a year. 🌍 Finding peace when the world feels uncertain. Why your home is your greatest source of empowerment right now, and the small acts of care that bring you back to safety. Steph's Offers

| From Cleaning Toilets to Florist to the Stars : The Joy of Vics Endersby | 02 Apr 2026 | 00:40:46 | |
This Easter, Ali wanted guests with real stories. not picture-perfect ones, but the kind with roller coasters, sharp turns, and joy found in the most unexpected places. Vics Endersby of Wonderland Blooms is exactly that. In this warm, funny, and genuinely inspiring conversation, Vicks takes us through the chapters of her life from the rug being pulled, to cleaning other people's bathrooms, to skydiving alone, to building a wedding floristry business she loves, working with Paula Rooney in Vienna and Italy, and raising a daughter who is already pitching her first wholesale deals at thirteen. This is a story about gut instinct, small daily joys, and what happens when you back yourself completely. What We Cover The rug pull. A decade ago, Vicks found herself cleaning toilets for a living, wondering how her comfortable, cottage-and-wood-burning-stove life had come undone. A marriage she thought was solid had quietly been heading elsewhere. When she found out, she did not wait. Scariest thing she had ever done. Most empowering thing she had ever done. The rebuilding. Single parenting, cleaning jobs, a bakery run by a woman in her sixties who became an unlikely mentor, and eventually a role at Pig and Pastry in York The sky stuff. Four solo skydiving jumps. Gliding lessons. A gyrocopter. All of it done alone, all of it in the period after her marriage ended. Her brain, she says, is quietest in freefall. Ali's theory: when you have already made the biggest leap of your life, throwing yourself out of a plane is just confirmation that you will always pull the chute. The flowers. Vicks had always wanted to be a florist. It took a marriage, a rebuild, and a bolt-upright moment in bed next to her new husband Mark to say: I am starting a wedding floristry business from this garage. He said yes, dear. The career that kept growing. From Friday flowers on a broken three-speed bike, Wonderland Blooms has grown into a full wedding floristry business. Vics has worked with florist-to-the-stars Paula Rooney in Vienna. She drove a van through Pisa on four hours' notice. She works alongside Kim at Dreambirds and Carousels on large-scale events. The loss. Vicks lost her mum recently. She talks about grief with the same directness she brings to everything else it strips layers, she says. She has no time for imposter syndrome anymore. Life is for living. The legacy. Vicks wants to write a book. A coffee table book, or something more, she is still deciding. She wants her children to know what those early Saturday mornings were for. Joy, says Vicks, is in the small significant things, not the big dramatic ones. Her favourite colour grounds her on a hard day. That is enough. That is everything. | You can't 'regulate' your way to JOY | 27 Mar 2026 | 00:23:42
In this week's Joy Broadcast , Ali talks through two phrases you hear absolutely everywhere in the wellness world. Two phrases that most people don’t truly understand, including the difference between them. In this episode, Ali makes that distinction clear. Plus why 'Regulating' is the wrong word in both cases and what you can do and say instead.
In This Episode
Your nervous system is your physiology, the body, the container. Your emotional system is your psychology, the ocean of feelings held within that container. Most women are working hard on one and bypassing the other entirely. And if your nervous system is stuck in a stress response, your prefrontal cortex has gone offline, which means all the therapy, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence in the world can’t land properly. Body first. Then the brain. The container, then the ocean. “We aren’t heating systems with knobs. We are oceans. And you cannot calm an entire ocean with a knob.”

| The Secret to Unshakeable Joy | 14 Mar 2026 | 00:21:30 | |
In this meaty, educational episode, Ali takes you through one of the most powerful exercises she does with her private clients: identifying your core values. Because when you truly know your values, you have an anchor that nothing and no one can take from you. You have confidence that comes from within, not from external validation. And you have the most powerful antidote to anyone who tries to shame, judge, or hurt you. This is the work that has given Ali the clarity to stand on stage, be visible, and receive both praise and criticism, all with an unshakeable sense of who she is. What We Cover in This Episode Why knowing your values changes everything When your inner world and outer world are aligned, living out of integrity with yourself becomes impossible. Ali shares how this work protected her in a pivotal moment and how it does the same for her clients every single day. Values as your antidote When someone throws criticism, judgment, or hate your way, your values are the truth that makes their poison dissolve. Ali even uses them to identify why something is hurting, so she can let it go and move on. Ali's own core values Grit. Grace. Gratitude. Growth. Genuine. Generosity. All beginning with G (because Ali loves alliteration and words are her love language). She walks you through how she arrived at each one, and why Grace was the newest addition and the one she still has to consciously remember. The values discovery exercise — step by step

| Joy: The Magic Formula for Success | 07 Mar 2026 | 00:26:39 | |
Welcome back to The Joy Broadcast and welcome to Year Two! This first episode of season two is a declaration. A relaunch. And a reminder of why joy isn't just a nice idea, it's chemistry, biology, and physics. It's the most powerful strategy you have. Ali opens with a confession: she took a break. She burned things down (very 3/6 of her), sat in the embers, and asked herself what this next chapter of the Joy Broadcast really needed to be about. The answer? Power. Not the soft version of joy, but joy as your sharpest competitive edge. What We Talk About in This Episode The evolution of the Joy Broadcast Year one was about survival: how to find joy when everything is falling apart. Year two is about something bigger: how to use joy as a strategy when everything is piling up and coming at you all at once. Same answer, different era. Joy is not fluffy. Joy is science. Ali breaks down why joy operates across three branches of science and why that completely changes how you should think about it
The Magician card While writing her keynote speech, Ali pulled a tarot card — and out jumped the Magician. The reminder she needed: you are the magic. And magic is always the same formula: power + skill + action. Fear as a messenger, not a shackle Fear comes up in client conversations every single week. Ali reframes it completely here: fear isn't your foe, it's your friend. It is one of your greatest guides. | Joy, love & nostalgia with "Boo & Bambi!" | 09 Feb 2026 | 00:37:04
THE JOY BROADCAST: BOO & BAMBI - A SISTER CONVERSATION ABOUT LOVE, NOSTALGIA & NOT THINKING ABOUT ANYONE ELSE This February, we're exploring love beyond romance. In this special episode, I sit down with my sister Alex (affectionately known as Bambi or Bird) for an intimate conversation about sisterhood, meaningful connections, and the joy of just being yourself. Fresh from our Maldives adventure celebrating my 50th birthday, we dive into questions about nostalgia, childhood memories, modern dating disasters, and what it means to truly switch off from responsibility. IN THIS EPISODE: On Nostalgia & Memory We explore what triggers our memories – from songs and smells to how differently we each process the past. I share how the anniversary of Mum's death affects me through snowdrops and Louis Armstrong, while my sister reveals she's more like Dad, able to leave the past in the past. The Gift of Not Thinking About Anyone Else We discuss what made our Maldives trip so special: the rare luxury of focusing just on ourselves. No kids, no partners, no responsibility for anyone else's happiness – and why that's not selfish, it's essential. The Wisdom of Empathy Alex shares her mantra shift from judgment to empathy – the story about ice creams on a winter school run that changed how she sees people's actions. We explore how we judge ourselves by our thoughts but others by their actions. Childhood Memories & Growing Up From being mistaken for each other on phone calls to Dad, to childhood holidays where we didn't have to worry about anything, we reflect on how adulthood changes the way we experience time off. JOY IS THE ACRONYM FOR JUST ON YOU As I share in this episode, when you're holding so much – children, partnerships, work, household, pets, everything – your main job is to focus on your own energy. You have to spend time every single day focusing just on yourself so you can expand your capacity to hold everything else. Otherwise, you store up resentment, frustration, and exhaustion from over-giving. This conversation is a reminder that the deepest connections allow you to just be yourself, say "I want to go to bed" on your 50th birthday at 10pm, and know there's no judgment. That's love too. | JOY101: When to Rock the Boat (and when not to!) | 02 Feb 2026 | 00:23:19
Are you playing it safe when your soul is whispering there's more to life? In this episode of The Joy Broadcast, Ali shares a powerful Joy Code about why movement is essential for happiness and when it's time to rock the boat versus when it's time to hold steady. Drawing from conversations with Joy Rebellion members and her own experience of capsizing her life (and rebuilding it), Ali explores the tension between stability and growth, between contentment and that persistent inner voice saying "you're meant for more." If you're feeling stuck in calm waters but restless for adventure or if you're in someone else's storm this episode is your permission slip. What You'll Learn
Memorable Quotes "When you start to rock that boat, you're starting to make waves. And it's those waves that lead you to movement." "Happiness to me is always the sense of movement of something better that's coming, something just around the corner." "If you're playing it safe, how can you know where you're going to go? Safe to me is like hiding, it's staying small, it's staying where you are." "You can't get to the next level without waves in whatever you want to do, wherever you want to go." "The common thread in all of these is just to come back to you, just on you—your joy, your definitions, your truth, your knowing, your little voice and your boat." Call to Action Are you ready to rock the boat—or do you need permission to hold steady? Ali would love to hear from you:

| Joy101: Knowing your definition of success | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:19:41 | |
What if your definition of success was the thing secretly blocking your joy AND your wealth? In this powerful episode, I'm kicking off a new series called Joy 101—101 ways to create, use, and bring more joy into your life. And we're starting with the code that changed everything for me nearly a decade ago: rewriting my definition of success. Back in 2015, when I walked away from my 20-year IT consulting career, I wrote down three simple lines: Success is loving what I do, loving who I do it with, and loving myself in the process. That definition carried me through a full decade of transformation—from body dysmorphia and not being able to look in the mirror, to building The Joy Rebellion and creating my dream life. But recently, after returning from the Maldives for my 50th birthday, I realised something had shifted. I'd achieved everything in that definition... and now it felt incomplete. This episode is about what happened when I revisited that success definition and discovered the missing piece: money. Not money as greed, but money as the ROOF protecting everything I've built. Money as the overflow that benefits my health, my family, and my clients. Money as strategy, not reward. In this episode, you'll discover: → Why your old definition of success might be keeping you stuck (even if it once served you beautifully) → The three foundational blocks that must come FIRST before wealth can flow → How to add "AND" instead of replacing what already works → Why women especially hold shame and resistance around making "a fuck ton of money" → The power of safe spaces where we can talk about money without being shamed or cancelled → How to write YOUR success definition for who you are TODAY (not who you were five years ago) → Why joy and wealth aren't opposites, they're partners This conversation sparked something powerful in The Joy Rebellion membership, and I knew it needed to reach more women. If you've ever felt conflicted about wanting more money, or if you've achieved "success" but still feel empty, this episode is for you. Action Steps: Your Joy 101 Assignment: Grab your journal and write YOUR definition of success for who you are TODAY, in this era of your life. Ask yourself:
Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. This is JUST ON YOU. Join the Conversation: If this episode ignited something in you—if you want to explore your money blocks, rewrite your success definition, or have these deep conversations with women who GET IT—I'd love to invite you into The Joy Rebellion. This is the space where we hold each other, where you don't have to hold everyone else, and where joy becomes your strategy, not your reward. | The Joy of Having a "Me For Me" Mentor - with Jana Kingsford | 05 Jan 2026 | 01:03:42
How do you go from sabbatical to six figures in one year? You find your "me for me" mentor. This week, I'm sitting down with the woman behind the Joy brand - my mentor, my coach, the person who helped me turn a whisper of "I'm a joy coach" into a thriving, purpose-driven, six-figure business. Meet Jana Kingsford: The Big Dreams Genie, creator of the Me Brand framework, author of eight books in three months (yes, really), and the mentor I followed for years before I was ready to work with her. This conversation is about big dreams, personal branding vs. business branding, why your hair doesn't need to be perfect, and what it means to "raw dog" your personal brand (Jana's words, not mine - but I love it). If you've been following someone for years, if you know deep down who your mentor is but haven't clicked the link yet, if you're building something that feels scary and big and true... This episode is for you. What We Talk About On finding your "me for me" mentor On Jana's origin story: The Big Dreams Genie On Oneology: The book that changed everything On personal branding vs. business branding On "raw dogging" your personal brand (Jana's concept) On Jana's hair (yes, really) On the Me Brand framework On Figure Seven (Jana's private coaching) On 2026 and big dreams Key Quotes Ali: "In 2023, everywhere I looked, it just kept saying joy, joy here, joy there, joy this, joy that. When someone said 'what do you do?' I said 'I'm a joy coach.' And that's when it hit me." "Jana, thank you on behalf of me and all of my listeners and all of my clients for helping me bring Joy to the world." "Your Oneology book is like my Bible. Every line crystallises, alchemizes. I've read it so many times and each time I'm like, YES." "I need someone to hold me through the big dick moments." Jana: "I'm the Big Dreams Genie. If we go back to when it started - 2006, pregnant with my second baby at 22, high school dropout signing up to university." "Four months in I knew: I'm not going to get a job in this field. What's the point? Then I got this rush: Janna, you're here to help women feel capable of their big dreams. Later on this is going to make sense. Trust it, do it." "I accidentally wrote eight books in three months. I've lost track of all the others but I think I'm at eight." "If it's ever about THEM for you, it's a business brand. If you're like 'I'm going to create this for this customer' - you're out of personal brand territory." "Personal branding is you being as YOU as you can be. It's saying what you want to say. It's showing us your Christmas parties, wine at sunset, things we don't expect." "My hair is like a client machine. A client paid me £70K and she's like 'it's just your hair, I just wanted to brush it.'" "Raw dogging your personal brand is living in it, being fully in it. It's life-giving. You're on purpose and there's a universal God-given situation that happens." "People will be like 'how is it working? You literally just show up with your yacht photos and here's Me Brand, buy now.' Because people know you inside out, upside down, round and round." | The Joy of Money Matters - with Amy Goodall-Smith | 29 Dec 2025 | 00:29:42
Money. Just reading that word probably made you tense up a little, didn't it? This week - in the final episode of the year and launching into January when everyone's freaking out about finances - I'm sitting down with someone who actually makes money joyful. Meet Amy Goodall-Smith: Chartered Financial Planner, Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, Master's in Finance, and my gorgeous friend from school (yes, we go way back). Amy's job? "I drink coffee, eat biscuits, and chat to people all day long. I spread a bit of money joy everywhere." If you've ever felt overwhelmed by all the noise around money, if you're terrified of making wrong decisions, if you've got pensions scattered everywhere with no strategy, if talking about money makes you feel anxious or ashamed... This conversation is for you. Because here's what Amy knows: Peace of mind is the greatest wealth you can have. Let's bring some joy to your money matters. What We Talk About On spreading money joy On creating a financial strategy On the biggest fears around money On money and emotions On finding forgotten money On overwhelm and simplicity On freedom and choice On Amy's company philosophy On Amy's approach Key Quotes Amy: "My kids say 'Mum, what do you do for a living?' I just say: I drink coffee, eat biscuits, and chat to people all day long. I get to spread a bit of money joy everywhere." "People are so nervous of money and talking about money. They're frightened of it, or they don't feel they know enough, or they're anxious about making decisions." "Siblings fall out over money in inheritance. Divorce becomes so emotional around the cash. 'That's not fair - I've been going and getting the money!' 'I've been at home doing all of this so you can do that!' All those emotions involved in money." "Tackle it with a bit of strategy, take it head on, remove all the shame, take away those fears by starting to talk about it. That's really my driver for everything I do." "I've got this knowledge, I'm really lucky. I can share that with people as much as they want to listen. It's enough to make people say 'okay, maybe it's not that scary.'" "Peace of mind is the greatest wealth you can have. That is true. If you can have that peace of mind with the strategy, then you're all good. You can create the choices." Ali: "The general narrative around money is just one of lack and fear-mongering. I wanted to bring joy to our spending, investing, savings - to talk all about money." "Freedom financially is important. But freedom also comes from having that peace of mind - free from the fears." "You can give them both: freedom from the anxiety and worries by giving them simple knowledge and simple strategies, AND that financial freedom that gives them choice." Connect with Amy Management Website: https://www.goodallsmith.co.uk Instagram: [@goodallsmith_wealth_management ] Location: Twyford and Henley-on-Thames (but work with clients everywhere via Zoom/Teams) Get in touch and someone from Amy's lovely team will give you a ring to support you in whatever way they can. | The Joy of Bah Humbug - with Eleanor Goddard | 22 Dec 2025 | 00:20:55
Not everyone loves Christmas. And that's okay. This week, I'm sitting down with my dear friend Eleanor Goddard - entrepreneur, wife, mum of two twentysomethings - for a conversation that goes deeper than tinsel and turkey. We're talking about death at Christmas (yes, really). About teenagers who still need you but don't think they do. About the pressure of holding everyone and everything together during "the most wonderful time of the year." And about why that pressure? It's actually a privilege. This is a raw, honest, beautiful conversation about navigating loss, aging parents, grown children, and the question that death keeps asking us: What do you want to do with this one life? Eleanor will be back in the New Year to continue this conversation - because somehow we lost the final 10 minutes! But our conversation was too good not to share and she will be back in the New Year! What We Talk About
About Eleanor Goddard Eleanor is the co-owner of Furnish & Fettle Interiors, the design business she runs alongside her husband, Glyn. A proud mum to Newcastle University students Ollie and Hattie—and to Ralph, the family’s lively black Labrador puppy—she balances entrepreneurship with a full and colourful home life. Before launching the business, she built a successful career in medical sales. That chapter ended abruptly when she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and the rare neurological condition orthostatic tremor, leading to a profound period of personal challenge. Her health journey included navigating depression and chronic fatigue as she came to terms with the loss of her career and identity. Driven by curiosity and determination, she immersed herself in research and clinical trials, and today her rheumatoid arthritis is generally well controlled, though flares still occur. Her orthostatic tremor remains her most significant daily hurdle, limiting her ability to stand without shaking—yet it’s also become part of the story that fuels her resilience & drive. She’s recently discovered a passion for cold-water swimming, and often draws on the mind-body tools she gained while training in clinical hypnotherapy after her two hypnobirths. Alongside running Furnish & Fettle, she has also stepped into the world of angel investing, embracing the learning curve, the energy of the community, and the thrill of building a portfolio that supports exciting new ventures. As her experience grows, she is beginning to explore the possibility of sharing her insights more formally—potentially stepping into a Non-Executive Director role to support and guide other founders on their journeys. Stay tuned for Part 2. Listen now for a conversation that's raw, real, and full of more joy than bah humbug (even when we tried).
| Manifesting Love & Above (Including JOY) this Christmas - with Dimple | 15 Dec 2025 | 00:44:57 | |
Whether you're nurturing a relationship, longing for more connection, or calling in a new love entirely… this week's episode will speak straight to your heart. I sat down with the incredible Dimple - a woman whose work in love, healing and alignment has changed lives around the world. She's been featured on the BBC, Tony Robbins' podcast, is a best-selling author and international speaker… but what you'll feel most is her energy. Her presence heals. Her voice shifts something inside you. And her teachings open doors - fast. May this episode bring you closer to the love you desire - and the love you deserve. What We Talk About
Some of my favourite lines & quotes: Dimple: "If you're feeling that you're lacking companionship, where are you not being your own companion?" "I was feeling in my marriage so much neglect and I was blaming him for the neglect. Actually the truth is I was neglecting myself. So I was a match for neglect." "On Christmas Day, if somebody's pissing you off, all I want you to think about is: does this really fucking matter? Or can I just pull another cracker?" "The frequency of gratitude can only occur if you've received it already. So you're in the frequency of having received it, which means you've already done it." Ali: "We cannot inflict a feeling on somebody else unless they're already feeling it already." "It's loving yourself enough to be able to say, I love myself to remove myself from this situation." "When you align with love, you amplify your joy. And the more joy you feel, the more you become a super-attractor because joy is one of the highest frequencies on the quantum scale." "Setting boundaries and forgiveness are acts of self-love. If you can stay in that frequency of love and ask that question - what would love do? - you're on the path to having a really beautiful, loving Christmas." | Festive Joy in Grief with Photography & Self-Love with Paula Ivy | 08 Dec 2025 | 00:47:48
Ali welcomes her online bestie Paula Ivy - an Australian photographer and artist who changed Ali's life through the transformational power of self-portraiture. This emotional conversation explores how learning to photograph yourself becomes a radical act of self-love, how to leave a photographic legacy for those you love, and why printed photographs matter more than ever. Key Insights Photography as Radical Self-Love Paula doesn't just teach photography - she teaches women to see themselves differently. What starts as learning angles and lighting becomes something much deeper: learning to look at yourself objectively, beyond the critical voice that says "fugly," beyond the conditioning from parents and society. Ali's transformation: "I came in thinking I'd learn to take photos. Instead, Paula taught me how to see myself as art. My body became shapes and images, not just flaws. It was alchemizing, transformational, healing."
Every person who works with Paula experiences this: a moment when the light switch flips and suddenly you lean closer to the mirror and think, "Holy shit. I am beautiful. I can SEE it."
We all carry voices - from parents, ex-partners, friends, society - that tell us we're not good enough. Too fat, too ugly, too old, too much, not enough. Paula's work helps you reprogram that voice. Like Ali's son Willy dancing in the mirror saying "I love myself, I look hot" - that's the energy we can reclaim.
Ali's favourite quote: "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." Paula teaches you to change the way you look at YOURSELF. And when you do, you change.
Ali's mum hated how she looked. When she died 10 years ago, there were no photographs of her. That absence - that lack of visual memory - was devastating. Ali's mission: Create thousands of photographs so her boys have a box full of memories when she's gone. Paula's wisdom: In an age of AI and digital manipulation, printed photographs become PROOF. Tangible truth. "This is the history, this is the past that I've had. It's here and it can't be messed with because it's printed. It's a thing."
As AI makes everything questionable, as digital images can be altered beyond recognition, physical printed photographs become our anchor to truth and memory. The invitation: Print your photos. Create albums. Leave tangible proof of your existence, your beauty, your life. And so much more! Please connect with Paula - she will change your life - you will start to see yourself & your life through a different lens. You will find all her work through my affiliate link here: https://www.paulaivy.com/alimortimer?affiliate=XScVFD Check out her freebie: 'F*ck I am beautiful' - a personal project through selfies. | Festive Joy of Soul Healing with Denny Devine | 01 Dec 2025 | 00:36:43
Ali welcomes her friend Denny Devine - an angel walking this earth - for a conversation about staying calm, connected, and joyful during the festive season. They explore the balance between Christmas celebrations and the natural darkness of winter, how to find light in the dark, and practical tools for managing the overwhelming tornado that Christmas can feel like. Key Insights The Cultural Push vs. Natural Rhythm Christmas happens at the darkest time of year. Traditionally, winter solstice (December 21st) was about hunkering down and celebrating the return of light. Now, we're dragged into what Denny calls "a bit of a tornado" - the pressure to be glittery and joyful when nature is actually inviting us to rest. The truth: It's okay to find Christmas both lovely AND overwhelming. Finding Light in the Dark Both Ali and Denny have walked through darkness to get where they are today. Their shared wisdom: Don't avoid the dark. The jewels are found there. When darkness is plunged upon you, there's no choice but to find the light. But it's not always as simple as "turning on the light" - sometimes you can't find the switch. You're feeling around in pitch black. The revelation: The light isn't outside you. It's within you. When you sit IN the darkness instead of avoiding it, you find the jewels that spark your own light. Lifting the Rug: What Are You Afraid to Find? People don't lift the rug because they fear the monsters underneath. They fear the worst-case scenario. But what if instead of monsters, you found diamonds? Ruby slippers? Glass slippers? The practice: Lean into the dark parts of yourself with curiosity, not fear. You have no idea what you're going to find - so don't always assume the worst. The Pause: Your Most Powerful Tool When life gets busy and overwhelming (hello, Christmas), the most important practice is THE PAUSE. Before you respond, before you react, before you spiral - pause. Even if it's just 60 seconds. Feel what's coming up. Connect with yourself. As Denny says: "Stop responding to every single thought. Just sit. Let awareness bubble up. Let vulnerability bubble up. See what's there and just let it be there." The Havening Practice When you need to soothe yourself, try this physical self-soothing technique:
Why it works: We're primed from babies to find comfort in this motion. It's deeply soothing. Forgiveness as a Daily Practice Denny practices forgiveness for herself constantly, especially at Christmas when routines slip and perfection isn't possible. Ali's forgiveness mantra: "I shed the shame. I give myself grace." Repeat it until your shoulders drop. That's you connecting with yourself, giving yourself the hug when no one else is there. The Cacao Ritual Denny's daily ritual is making cacao - her "safe place in the day." She even sings to her cacao (Christmas carols at the holidays!). The principle: Find your 5-minute ritual. It might not be cacao, but create sacred time to sit in stillness, reflect on the day, and just BE. You Can't Delegate Your Wellbeing Just like you can't delegate your health (from Debbie's episode!), you can't delegate your peace, your joy, or your healing. This is JUST ON YOU. And that's actually empowering, not limiting. Staying Connected Through the Chaos The most important thing during a crazy season: Stay connected to yourself. Notice what feelings are coming up. Don't push them down. Pause. Breathe. Give you
| Festive Joy & Happy Hormones with Debbie Townsend | 24 Nov 2025 | 00:51:34 | |
Ali talks with her friend & chiropractor Debbie Townsend, also lifestyle advocate, author & Dutch Test Provider about happy hormones during the festive season. This conversation covers hormone health, stress, menopause, and how to keep your body balanced when life gets busy. Deep science made accessible and practical.
Debbie's Complete Lifestyle approach looks at three essential areas: Physical - Movement, alignment, exercise Key insight: Stress comes from ANY of these three sides. Poor diet is chemical stress. Lack of movement is physical stress. Anxiety is emotional stress. Your body responds to all of it. Chronic health is preventable through lifestyle. Your body is like a bank account - you can't keep making withdrawals without eventually running poor.
When stressed (physically, chemically, or emotionally): → Cortisol spikes Result: Exhaustion, weight gain (especially around the middle), mood swings, hormone chaos.
Stop worrying so much about running every day. Start with your plate. The sugar problem: Modern food is loaded with hidden sugars. When blood sugar constantly spikes and crashes, cortisol works overtime to compensate. Simple rule: Pair sugar with protein (nuts, cheese, eggs) to stabilize blood sugar.
How well you go through perimenopause and menopause depends on your stress levels, diet, movement, sleep, and how you've treated your body up until this point. It's not inevitable that this transition has to be difficult.
Gary Barlow's story: Despite success and resources, he found himself struggling with alcohol, weight gain, and low motivation. After seeing his doctor, his first thought walking back to his car was: "Who can I get to do this for me?" Before he reached his car, it hit him: This is the ONE thing only HE could do. He went home, put on trainers, tried to run around the block, and thought he was going to die. But that's where it started. The lesson: You cannot delegate your health. This is JUST ON YOU.
Anytime you hear the word JOY, remember: it has to be JUST ON YOU. Your health. Your hormones. Your happiness. Your choices. When you focus on what YOUR body needs, on what brings YOU joy - that's when everything shifts.

| The Joy of knowing YOU are a Master Manifester | 17 Nov 2025 | 00:41:54 | |
You're already a master at manifesting—you've been doing it your whole life. You've manifested your current existence. The question isn't "Can I manifest?" The question is: What do you want to manifest next? In this episode, Ali shares a powerful Love Club Live session from the 11/11 portal, designed to build your confidence in your manifesting abilities. This is the final part of a three-part series on manifestation, and it's all about recognizing the magic you've already created—and using it to create even more. Key Themes ✨ You are already a master manifester The Big Quote "A pattern I've noticed in successful people: They're all a little bit delusional about their abilities. Not arrogant, just unreasonably optimistic about what they can figure out. While everyone else is listing reasons why something won't work, they're already trying it. Half the time they're wrong, but the other half changes their lives. Reasonable people don't build unreasonable lives." Translation: Be a little bit bonkers. Be a little bit delusional. Be unreasonably optimistic. The 5 Questions to Prove You're Already a Master Manifester Ali guides you through five powerful questions designed to help you see the evidence of your manifesting power:
These questions help you see: you've already manifested incredible things. You just don't give yourself credit for it. The 5 A's: Manifesting As If By Magic Framework Ali's signature manifesting process: 1. ASK - Place your order. What do you want? Be specific (like the exact Apple Watch with the raspberry band) or specific in feeling (I want to be happy). 2. ACKNOWLEDGE - Notice the dominant negative thought working against it. Don't ignore it—acknowledge it, then drop it or dissolve it. 3. ASSUME - Step into the energy of already having it. Assume the identity of someone who already has what you want. 4. ACT - Take inspired action from that assumed energy. When you assume it's already happened, you know what actions got you there. 5. ALLOW - Surrender to the universe. Trust the process. Trust the magic. Allow it to unfold in ways that might exceed your expectations. Real Example: The Apple Watch Story Ali wanted the latest Apple Watch with heart monitoring (for health anxiety around palpitations). The delivery wouldn't arrive in time for her London trip. She placed the order anyway, trusting Apple would "blow her mind." Her husband James cancelled the online order—because he'd gone into the Leeds shop and bought her the exact watch she wanted with the exact raspberry pink band she wanted, in time for her trip. That's magic manifesting. Ask, acknowledge doubt, assume it'll work out, act on it, allow the magic to unfold. Key Takeaways → You're already a master manifester—you just need to recognize it
