Episode 47: The Life And Crimes Of Gangland Lawyer Jimmy Two Guns 18 Sep 202501:05:29

The astonishing true story of Glasgow gangland confidant James McIntyre, aka Jimmy Two Guns

James 'Jimmy Two Guns' McIntyre was Glasgow's go-to gangland lawyer and consigliere to one of Scotland's foremost crime families. His maverick approach to the law and a client list that included some of the most feared gangland figures of the time - including the McGoverns and Paul Ferris - ensured that he was always in demand but under the constant scrutiny of the authorities.

Now Jimmy Two Guns recounts the cases he handled, the strokes he pulled, plus his arrests, a high-speed car chase with the drug squad, his time in 'the cooler' for allegedly attempting to murder a cop and much more. He tells how he bounced back after being the target of a near-fatal underworld hit, before being arrested by an armed response unit for possession of two pistols, and reveals with wit and a sharp pen what it's really like being a lawyer for the underdog.

Whatever you thought you knew about crime and justice, think again - because for Jimmy Two Guns, the truth has always been stranger than fiction.

'Crooked judges, bent cops and hypocrites in high places - the most truthful legal memoir you'll ever read. Superb.'

The Disappearance Of Madeleine McCann With Detective Jon Wedger 28 Sep 202501:23:04

Madeleine Beth McCann (born 12 May 2003) disappeared on the evening of 3 May 2007 from her bed in a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, a resort in the Algarve region of Portugal, sparking what one newspaper called "the most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history". Her whereabouts remain unknown.

Madeleine was on holiday from the UK with her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann; her two-year-old twin siblings; and a group of family friends and their children. She and the twins had been left asleep at 20:30 in the ground-floor apartment, while the McCanns and friends dined in a restaurant 55 metres (180 ft) away. The parents checked on the children throughout the evening, until Madeleine's mother discovered she was missing at 22:00. Over the following weeks, particularly after misinterpreting a British DNA analysis, the Portuguese police came to believe that Madeleine had died in an accident in the apartment and that her parents had covered it up. The McCanns were given arguido (suspect) status in September 2007, which was lifted when Portugal's attorney general archived the case in July 2008 because of a lack of evidence.

The Scheme Star Marvin Baird Tells His Story 14 Oct 202501:02:08

Marvin Baird came to public attention in the 2010 BBC Scotland documentary The Scheme, which followed families in the Onthank and Knockinlaw estates in Kilmarnock.

He was depicted as a recovering drug addict during the show.

His relationship with Dayna McLaughlin and his pet dog Bullet were also central parts of his storyline.

---

Challenges & Past Issues

Addiction: Marvin struggled with heroin use, and there were multiple legal issues related to drugs.

Crime & Legal Consequences: He has been jailed at different times (for example, possessing/supplying heroin, breaching probation) and faced various court orders.

Public Scrutiny: Marvin has spoken publicly about feeling misrepresented in the show, believing that some portrayals exaggerated his issues or made him look worse than he felt he was. He also claims the show led to misunderstandings in his community about his wealth and behaviour.

---

Recovery & Current Life

Marvin’s later life shows signs of recovery, change, and attempts to rebuild. Here are some of the known improvements and current efforts:

Clean & Drug-Free (mostly): He has publicly stated that he’s got off hard drugs (heroin) and is maintaining sobriety. He admits to past relapses or legal issues, but seems committed to staying cleaner.

Legal/Community Orders Instead of Prison: Recent court reports mention that he was spared jail in some instances because of demonstrable progress in recovery (for example, being drug tested, doing community payback, etc.).
