It also explores some of the themes in the film from the perspective of the filmmakers themselves.

Margo Harkin in conversation with IFL (and Birds Eye View)10 Feb 202301:00:28

For this week's podcast we're presenting you with an incredible treat - it's the Q&A from our screening of HUSH A BYE BABY with director Margo Harkin. This is a rare chance to hear from Margo on the film and its impact on the (ongoing) discourse around women's reproductive rights in Northern Ireland.

(The Q&A starts around the 15 minute mark for you keen beans!)

Last weekend, we held our St Brigid's Day 2023 screenings on screens across London. One of those screenings was of Margo Harkin's classic film HUSH A BYE BABY which we showed at The Rio in partnership with Birds Eye View, and which Margo was there for, speaking to Dr Emmie McFadden in an extensive Q&A which covers women's reproductive rights in Northern Ireland, activism and DIY filmmaking as well as lots, lots more.

Our thanks to Margo Harkin, Dr Emmie McFadden of Sheffield Hallam University and Melanie Iredale at Birds Eye View, as well as The Rio cinema in Dalston, for partnering with us on this special event.
