Bonus Episode with Melissa Horvath, author of Embrace Your New16 Aug 202500:23:30

Life takes its toll. The more we experience, the more we may start to see ourselves in light of what’s happened to us instead of what God thinks about us. In fact, we may fear that our damage is irreparable, and it may keep us from drawing closer to Him. In Embrace Your New, Melissa reminds readers of the depth of God’s compassion and the strength of His restorative power. It will refresh your mind and heart with the truth that God makes all things new, especially us!

Kathi Lipp: When Life Is at Its Hardest, We Can All Bring Soup07 Feb 202200:06:33

Sometimes, when life is at its hardest, we can’t manage a grandiose gesture. But most of the time, we can all bring soup. When we offer something practical and immediate during a difficult time, it's a simple gesture that goes a long way to bless someone and ease their struggle. What can you offer someone today?

Anjuli Paschall: What Do We Have Left When COVID Has Taken So Much from Us?04 Feb 202200:07:01

We want to be done, but God is still doing something here. Whether we like it or not, we must continue to feel the pain we’ve already persevered through this pandemic. What we need is faith — faith not in peace, faith not in tomorrow, faith not in what can be measured or monetized, faith not in health, and faith not in my own understanding. We need faith in Jesus and in Jesus alone.

Holley Gerth: What’s Keeping You from Being Free? Overcome It This Year 02 Feb 202200:06:13

When we stop trying to hold it all together we can finally rest in what we need most — a God who holds us. We all have something we’re consistently tempted to go to in order to numb out, cope with stress, or avoid facing difficult emotions or experiences. But the good news is we don’t have to win the battle on our own.

“Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 7:24-25).

You Are His and You Are Loved01 Feb 202200:06:20

May you take time to rest in the knowledge that God loves you beyond question and beyond measure. You are beloved, friend. He loves us enough to send His son to this broken planet to take our place and our punishment, to rewrite our stories, to redeem every single part of us. He loves us enough to follow us to the ends of the earth—and He did. Why? I still don’t quite know. But His love for us, in all its glory, is as undeniable as it is unimaginable.

Robin Dance: When What We Want Equals God’s Desire, the Difference Means Everything27 Jan 202200:07:39

How astounding that God can use waiting and rejection to prepare us for His calling!  It can be hard to distinguish whether our desires are from God or not, but as we wait and trust in Him, God shows us the way. And when what we want equals God’s desire, the difference means everything.

Audrey Menck: What I Wish for You More Than Anything Else 25 Jan 202200:06:05

We can spend our lives grasping for more, attempting to bolt from the crossroads of ordinary and mundane, or we can rest in His grasp, relinquishing ourselves to the peace of the present. We can pursue life to the fullest, or we can live in Him who gives us the fullest life. And perhaps a life of abundance looks less like losing ourselves through escape and more like finding Him right where we are.

God doesn’t need our bravado, charisma, or strength. He doesn’t need a blue checkmark on Instagram, a book deal, or a decent salary. He doesn’t need us to perform, pretend, or produce in order to ensure He’ll stick around. In the upside-down kingdom we reside in, weakness is exactly what Jesus wants.

Recognizing where we are now — that we’ve got more growing to do — is essential. As long as there are nations and people groups who treat the image of God unjustly and resist God’s plan for love, advocates for justice will rise up.

Anna E. Rendell: Where Our Everyday Meets His Glory10 Jan 202200:07:28

Maybe the point is that we can keep all the wonder, the celebration, the questions, and adoration going in our ordinary days, long after the cookies are gone and the tinsel tossed out. Maybe grappling with the mundane, living life alongside beloved friends and family, going to work, and living for the will of our Father is more relatable than we think. And what a gift that Jesus did the very same things.

Margot Groner: Search for Hope in the Midst31 Mar 202500:05:49

"These are your reminders to hold onto hope. Nature will show up as a steady reminder of a steady God. You will walk barefoot in the green grass; you will once again feel the sun warm upon your face. You will see peonies bloom and strawberries turn ripe. You will have fresh vision for where the Lord is calling you, and it will be personal, beautiful, and full-circle. You will feel life again, like jumping into a pool on a hot summer day. You will be refreshed and taken care of."
