Robb Stauber Hockey Journey (Part One) EP14404 Nov 202401:31:42
An Awesome Day with Robb Stauber!

Hi everyone, this is going to be an awesome day, as my son Rem is sitting in on this episode, and I am pumped to visit with a former teammate of mine from the University of Minnesota – goaltender Robb Stauber.

I'm not kidding you when I say he was the most talented goalie I got to play in front of. Maybe I think that because he saved my butt probably hundreds of times after a bad read or when I coughed up the puck for a breakaway. Mr. Stauber was always there for me! By my sophomore year, I’d hardly backcheck when I made a bonehead play, because I knew Robb was there.

He’s the 1st goalie to ever win the Hobey Baker Award, made it to the top of the hockey mountain as a player with NHL stops in LA and Buffalo, and has pursued equally impressive coaching and entrepreneurial ventures. This is Part One of an incredible hockey journey. I hope you enjoy it!

Blake Sloan Hockey Journey EP135 (Part Two)14 Apr 202401:03:40

Well it happens sometimes, when I do an interview with someone, the hour flys by and we don't even come close to finishing the hockey journey of the individual.

I thought I'd have to wait weeks to get back on Mr. Sloan's schedule, but I got that lane to the net and here we are a few days later, ready to tap into part 2 of his hockey journey.

Here's where we left off. He's new to the professional game, was asked to move from a life-time of playing defense, up to playing forward in the minors from time to time with the Houston Aeros. Caught the attention of the Dallas Stars brass his second year, and was offered an NHL contract at the end of that campaign. We know from part one, that he jumped on a rocket ship when he signed with the Stars, playing in their final 12 regular season games, and most of their NHL playoff games, capping off an unbelievable year by winning the Stanley cup. If you're ready to get wowed & inspired a second time with Blake Sloan, well grab the beverage of your choice and settle into part two of his story, Here we go :)

Leadership (Part 1) EP4517 Jul 202200:28:47

My Mom and Dad looked at each other with blank faces, a short pause and then looked at me and said, the thought never crossed their mind. My Dad did interject this, he said, I don't know Lance, I guess I just remember telling you to be an engine and not a caboose. I chuckled and told him that I remember him saying that to me, and I'm grateful for that small, short, simple sentence, because it's stuck with me to this day. But what the conversation showed me, was that I'm sure there's all kinds of other parents, kids, teachers or instructors out there that might have the same question, how is leadership acquired or taught? What do those conversations sound like, when should they start in one's life, and, is there a competitive advantage out there, when it comes to acquiring leadership skills, available to everyone, that you might have missed the boat on? Well, I'm not an expert in the field of leadership, but there are many in this world who have made this quality or characteristic their life's work, and we're going to see what they have to say on the topic. For the following books I'm going to reference, know that I'm only scratching the surface of all the learning nuggets in each of the titles. If something resonates with you from a certain book, by the end of this episode, I highly encourage you to pick up a copy of your own and read it in its entirety. Below are the links to each of the titles. Enjoy the episode :)

Larry Olimb Hockey Journey EP4410 Jul 202201:38:58

Super excited to have my next guest Larry Olimb on the show, as we were former teammates at the University of Minnesota, where I was privileged to see this guy operate on a daily basis and witness greatness in the making.  This guy made hockey look effortless.  A Warroad Minnesota native, Mr. Olimb made a name for himself as he climbed the youth hockey ladder, as someone that could control a game and seaming score at will.

By the time he graduated from this small high school in northern Minnesota, he would lead the Warriors to 2 state tournament appearances and was awarded Mr. Hockey his senior year, which goes to the top male high school hockey player in the state of Minnesota.  In 1987, he was drafted by the hometown Minnesota North Stars in the 10th round, 193 overall.

In 1988, Larry would move down to the Twin Cities and began his college career at the University of Minnesota, where he continued to show his dominance putting up 24 goals, and 56 assists for 80 points in his final college season.  When his 4 years at the U came to an end, he ended up becoming the Gophers' all-time assists leader, surpassing the legendary John Mayasich.

Mr. Olimb had a professional career that lasted 3 years before retiring from the sport.

He's married, a father of 3, in the real estate game, and most recently, was announced as the new coach for the Orono High School girls hockey team, so we have a lot to chat about.  I hope you enjoy the conversation!!

Joe Dziedzic - NHL Player 2 Trainer/Coach - Hockey Journey EP43 03 Jul 202200:57:39

My next guest is Joe Dziedzic and I'm super excited to hear his hockey journey.  Joe grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he spent his childhood playing football, hockey and baseball.  By the time he finished his high school career he had college scholarship offers for all 3 sports.

In 1990, his senior year at Edison High School, he won Mr. Hockey, which is awarded to Minnesota's best male high school hockey player, and later that same year he was drafted in the 3rd round, 61st overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins.  After high school, he began his college career with the hometown team, the Minnesota Gophers.  Following 4 years of schooling and hockey growth, he would sign with the Penguins and go on to play in 130 NHL games with Pittsburgh and at the time, the Phoenix Coyotes, but it was a career cut short because of an eye injury.

After his retirement he got into coaching at the team level and also doing small group skill development training through JD Hockey.  He's currently the head coach at Minneapolis High School and was the 2022 Minnesota High School Coach of the year, so we have a lot to talk about.

Habits, How are Yours? EP42 26 Jun 202200:25:15

If I look back on my life so far, there has always been a constant year after year, there is something I've always wanted to change or improve in my life.  For over a decade it was wanting to get more fit and eat healthier because after I retired from playing, that part of my life was neglected for a long time.  As I started to research how to implement change in one's life, a recurring theme quickly revealed itself, habits.  There wasn't a book I read, video I watched or podcast I listened to, that had a high performer who didn't have rock-solid habits as their pillars for how they operated on a daily basis.

So how do you go from wanting something, to actually getting it, apparently, your daily habits are pretty important?  Here are some of my favorite books that may help answer some of these questions.  I'll be providing you with some key quotes from each of the books, but know that I've not even scratched the surface of what other game changing ideas and points are in each of the titles.  Enjoy the episode :)

Add 1 New Thing this Summer - Rob Pallante - EP4119 Jun 202200:43:40

Summer is officially here and is a time when a kid can make some huge gains in a lot of different areas because you don't have the school commitments and for the next few months, you have more time on your hands.  The question is are you going to use that time productively, or is that time going to use you, by wasting it watching others on your smartphone for hours a day, growing as an individual at the slowest pace.

Today, I want to challenge all of you listeners out there, especially the players out there, to add one new thing this summer, to your daily schedule, that you will spend 15-20 minutes a day executing.  You have to view this challenge and whatever your goal is, in the same light as breathing, eating and sleeping.  It's done every day for the whole summer.

I've brought my good buddy back Rob Pallante, from Mind Set Body Bank, to help give everyone some ideas of what you may want to consider adding to your self-growth equation.  Enjoy the conversation.

Chris Lukey - Pro - My Hockey Resume - Hockey Journey EP4012 Jun 202200:47:31

My next guest, Chris Lukey is a native of St. Catharines Ontario, where he started his hockey career.  As he progressed up the hockey ladder, he was drafted in the Ontario Hockey League where he spent 4 seasons playing for the Kingston Canadiens and Windsor Spitfires.

After a 2 year professional career, he climbed the ranks in the fire department and after 28 years retired as a Platoon Chief.  If that wasn't enough, Mr. Lukey was a Power Edge Pro skill development instructor for several years, had a 30 year coaching career, and currently is helping hockey players and families navigate through the hockey opportunity process with his company My Hockey Resume, so we have a lot to talk about.  To learn more about Chris and My Hockey Resume, click on the link below.

So how do kids learn how to start thinking about creating a purposeful life?  How can we as parents help in this process and how early should or can we start?  I have a few books that might help shed some light on the topic and I'd like to share some of the best quotes from each, that may get you thinking about the current journey you're on, from a different perspective.  I hope you enjoy the episode!

Ben Hankinson - NHL Player - NHLPA Player Agent - Hockey Journey EP37 29 May 202201:27:34

My next guest, Ben Hankinson, has been someone I've wanted to get on the show since I got into the podcast game, because we spent a lot of time together years ago, as college teammates and training partners once we turned pro in the off-season.  Mr. Hankinson is a Minnesota native, where he grew up  going to school and playing sports for the powerhouse Edina Hornets.  He went on to play Division 1 hockey for the hometown Minnesota Gophers.

In the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, Ben was drafted in the 6th round, 107th overall to the New Jersey Devils, playing 448 professional games over seven seasons, 43 of them in the NHL.  Wasn't much for goal scoring, but did carve his way to the NHL by chucking the knuckles a bit, as he was fighting in the heavyweight division.  Those were scary individuals!!  He's currently a certified NHLPA player Agent with Octagon Hockey, so we have a lot to discuss.  Enjoy the conversation!

Chris Phillips Hockey Journey EP3625 May 202201:13:25

Chris Phillips Hockey Journey EP3Chris Phillips is my next guest and I'm really looking forward to the conversation, as we were teammates for a couple of seasons in Ottawa.  Mr. Phillips is a Canadian-born hockey player who played junior hockey for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, Prince Albert Raiders, and Lethbridge Hurricanes.  In 1996, he was selected first overall by the Ottawa Senators, not knowing at the time that he'd spend the next 17 years in the nation's capital, playing in 1179 career games.  His charitable contributions to the community were many, one being Candlelighters which helps families that have a child battling cancer.  He now is the co-owner of the Big Rig Brewery and is enjoying life after hockey with his wife Erin and 3 kids, Ben, Zoey, and Naomi.  Enjoy the conversation :)

Blake Sloan Hockey Journey EP13 (Part One)07 Apr 202401:05:36

I can't wait to share my next guest, Blake Sloan's hockey journey, because it is truly remarkable.  Let me quickly summarize it in a couple sentences. Broken ankle, broken face, high school championship, NCAA National Champion, Stanley Cup Champion, a Europe Professional League Championship, and was on the bench when one of his Michigan teammates introduced the world to the now famous, the original Michigan move and lacrosse style goal.

Though he accomplished and experienced a lot of the good stuff during his incredible hockey journey, unfortunately, the road he traveled wasn't scripted to perfection, not having any challenges or hardships along the way, where everything just came easy for him.  That doesn't happen for anyone, and Mr. Sloan was no exception.  If you want to hear the story of a kid, who let his character, work ethic, adaptability and never give up mentality until you get what you want, then buckle up because we are in for a wild ride.

If you're ready to get wowed & inspired, grab the beverage of your choice and settle into a story that I know you're going to love, and this is only part one of his journey. Here we go :)

Kerry Goulet - Pro - Stop Concussions - Hockey Journey EP3522 May 202201:16:01

My next guest, Kerry Goulet was born and raised in Winnipeg, and it was there that he starred in junior hockey and later in ball hockey.  His Winnipeg Grasshoppers, represented Manitoba in 8 national ball hockey championships, collecting the title in 1985. In 2006, Kerry was inducted into the Canadian Ball Hockey Association’s Hall of Fame.

He credits his experience with Hockey Manitoba and ball hockey with assisting in honing his skills for a successful international ice hockey career that saw him spend 16 seasons as a player, coach, and general manager with six different teams in the German 1st, 2nd and 3rd Division.

His years as a player saw him collect an astounding 1997 points in 505 games which earned Goulet the honor of having his jersey (#29) retired.

At the age of 52, he was asked back to his old club in Germany to attempt to collect 2000 points….which he did with a 5-3 win contributing a goal and two assists. Kerry’s coaching record was also sensational, with 312 wins in 452 games.

Kerry has dedicated much of his office energy to charitable causes, with his focus on concussions and spinal cord injuries in sport. His motivation behind the cause comes from his former hockey and ball hockey teammate, who suffered a broken neck, leaving him a quadriplegic.

One of the lessons learned from his friend Robert’s plight Goulet recalls was, “It is not what you collect along your journey…championships, scoring races, trophies, money, cars…. but what you give back, that will be your legacy.” A motto Kerry has adopted in his everyday life post being on the ice. Goulet is one of the founders of Stop Concussions, along with former NHLer Keith Primeau.

Dr. Ryan Fader - Servant to Others EP3418 May 202200:55:23

Doctor Ryan Fader is my next guest and I'm looking forward to hearing his journey, as he's gotten some hockey sprinkled in there, but his true call to adventure is helping others, me being one of those people, as he fixed up my knee recently, and coach is operational again. Unfortunately, every player is going to get dinged up from time to time, but we're lucky to have people like Dr. Fader to help us get back on the ice as quickly as possible. But what if the injuries are self inflicted, due to early specialization and over-use? We're going to find out. This guy is a master at his craft and I want to know how he got there!!  To learn more about Dr. Fader, please click on the link below.  Enjoy the conversation :)https://www.ryanfadermd.com/ryan-r-fader-md-orthopedic-surgeon-minneapolis.html

Tom Pederson - NHL - Green Biscuit - Hockey Journey EP3315 May 202201:15:22

My next guest is former NHLer, Tom Pederson.  This Minnesota native played his youth and high school hockey for the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars.  Then went on to play Division 1 college hockey for the hometown Minnesota Gophers.  His strong play early in his freshman season resulted in a roster spot on Team USA in the 1988-89 prestigious World Jr. championship.  In 1989 he was an 11th-round draft pick of the Minnesota North Stars, where he played 240 NHL games for the San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs.  He also spent some time playing professionally in Japan and Germany.  If that wasn't enough, Mr. Pederson is also the creator of the Green Biscuit, so we have a fun discussion ahead of us.

Taylor Williamson: Winning the Draw: Mastering Hockey Face-Offs - EP3211 May 202201:11:46

In episode 110 of the "Hockey Journey" podcast, Coach Lance Plick chats with Taylor Williamson, a former Minnesota Golden Gopher and current trainer with the Oates Sports Group, about the nuances of hockey, focusing particularly on face-offs and communication with coaches. Here's a breakdown of the insightful discussion they had:

Importance of Face-Offs: Williamson emphasizes that face-offs are pivotal moments in a game that can capture or shift momentum. Recognizing the opportunity each draw presents is crucial for players at all levels.

Preparation and Strategy:

Before engaging in a face-off, having a clear plan and ensuring all teammates are aware of it is essential.

Observing the opposing center's stance and adjusting your approach accordingly can provide an advantage.

Body posture, hand positioning on the stick, and focusing on the referee rather than the opponent are key elements to success.

Execution Techniques:

Players should opt for a stance that allows agility and quick movement, avoiding being too bent over.

Depending on the side of the ice and whether facing a lefty or righty, strategies may vary. Utilizing a backhand or forehand approach can be dictated by the situation and personal strengths.

Communication with teammates is vital to executing a successful play post-face-off.

Practicing Off-Ice: Williamson suggests practicing face-offs off the ice using simple exercises with friends or teammates. Watching games and paying attention to successful face-off techniques can also provide valuable learning opportunities.

Approaching Coaches: Both Plick and Williamson stress the importance of open communication with coaches. Players should not hesitate to seek feedback or discuss concerns and aspirations. They recommend approaching coaches with specific questions and a willingness to listen and improve.

Professionalism and Growth: The discussion also touches on the professionalism required in athletes, not just in their sport but in life skills such as communication and handling feedback constructively.

The New Women's Professional League: The conversation concludes with excitement about the new women's professional hockey league, emphasizing the opportunities it opens for female athletes to pursue their passion for hockey beyond college.

How to Set and Achieve Your Hockey Goals EP3004 May 202200:27:21

Since the school year will soon be wrapping up, I thought it made sense to have an episode about how to set and achieve your hockey goals.  Summer is right around the corner and is a time when players can make significant gains in their hockey development, because you don’t have school and now have a bunch of extra hours to do whatever you want.

In the last 5-6 years, reading books consistently became important to me again, after a 15-year hiatus.  I've gained so much knowledge from the extra effort I put in weekly, and have implemented a lot of the suggestions or tips into my daily routine.  To help paint a clearer picture regarding how to set and achieve goals, I've picked 4 of my favorite titles that I'd like to incorporate into this episode.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find the listen useful.

The Hero's Journey - EP2620 Apr 202200:53:47

The other day my oldest son Rem asked me if I'd ever heard of the hero's journey. I said that I hadn't, so he suggested I look up a guy named  Joseph Campbell, who in 1949 wrote a book called The Hero with 1000  Faces. Little did I know, but so many movies that are so familiar to so many of us, are based on the framework and writings of Mr. Campbell's book, like Star Wars, Shrek, Batman, Harry Potter, The Lion King, and the Matrix to mention a few.     I have to admit, this is all new to me,  but it sparked something and now I want to learn more, because, as you'll find out, The Hero's Journey is really about each and every one of us. I brought back my good friend and mind mentor Don Ollivet, THe  OLLIE Man to help explain what exactly is the Hero's Journey.  Enjoy the conversation.

Dan Woog Hockey Journey EP13331 Mar 202401:11:56

I'm super excited to have my next guest, Dan Woog on the Hockey Journey Podcast. He grew up in the state of hockey and carved out an impressive career, eventually earning a college roster spot at the University of Minnesota, and we're going to find out how he did it. If you think the road he had to travel was easy, well, if almost dying in a rock slide near his South St. Paul home was part of the plan, being told he'd never walk again, and if he did, it would be with a limp, I want to see how he climbed out of that challenging experience and realized his hockey dream!

Dan's hockey journey is part one of the story, being the son of one of the most influential, iconic hockey individuals Minnesota has ever produced, my coach at the University of Minnesota, is part two of the story. I really enjoyed going back to a period of time on my hockey journey, that shaped me and prepared me for what I didn't know then, but would eventually end up being a 12 year professional career, and my experience at that school prepared me to take advantage of that once in a life-time hockey opportunity!

So sit back, grab your preferred beverage, and let's dive into the hockey journey of Dan Woog. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the conversation and I hope you have a wonderfully productive day!!

Kirk Olson - Sports Performance Coach - EP2413 Apr 202201:17:27

My next guest, former Minnesota Wild strength and conditioning coach Kirk Olson, and I have connected together more than 20 years ago, as he was my strength and conditioning coach for the off-season when I was a player before he got his big break in the NHL.  It's been a while since we've spoken, so I'm looking forward to the conversation. here today.  Because the winter season just wrapped up and people are starting to plan their summer training schedules, I thought it was perfect timing to have Mr. Olson on the show.

I'm sure there are a lot of listeners out there that have questions regarding exactly when to start off-ice strength and conditioning training, and what exactly does that look like?   I'll do my best to tap into all those potential questions and let Kirk give us his thoughts.

Enjoy the conversation!

Francois Gagnon RDS Professional Journalist Journey EP1720 Mar 202200:50:51

When most of us think about a hockey Journey, we think of one through the eyes of a player, but not everyone has that opportunity, for a variety of reasons.  But there's another group of individuals who've had a hockey journey, reached the top of their game, but just in a different sector.  Fransois Gagnon has one of those stories and is currently a professional writer for RDS covering the historic Montreal Canadian franchise.  From a journalist perspective, I don't think there can be a more prestigious position in the hockey world, especially if you're French Canadian.

Was a kid that early on knew he wasn't going to be more than a mediocre hockey player, but was mentored early by a friend's father that changed his trajectory and propelled Francois eventually to the upper crest of that industry.  So many great stories and messages!!  I really enjoyed the conversation and I hope you do as well.  You can follow Francois on Twitter - @GagnonFrancois

She'll also be graduating with a Chemical Engineering degree.  If you're a ,young girl hockey player, looking to model yourself after someone, you might have found the perfect person and episode.  Enjoy Natalie Heising’s, Hockey Journey!

Nontraditional Hockey Teaching w/Barry Karn & Karn Skating Dynamics EP13225 Mar 202401:09:54

Today is a treat for me, as I love when I can have our next guest, skating instructor extraordinaire Barry Karn on the show. He's one of our most popular guests here on the hockey journey podcast. After you're done with this episode, you can also check out numbers 12, 78 and 79 for a whole lot more of Barry Karn goodness.

Recently, one of my other companies, Online Hockey Training started posting again , the Instagram, youtube and the facebook to mention a few after a good 2 year break. One category I like to highlight is the opposite hand training I have players work on and the benefits, but wanted a different, more catchy title, and then I remembered something Mr. Karn said; "disagreeable training!" I texted him, asking if he'd mind if I used the term, he proceeded to give me one of the longest texts I've ever received on disagreeable training and how it's such a critical ingredient in a kids childhood development.

Right then and there, I said it's been too long, I don't know what the topic is going to be, but I need to get a little Barry Karn fix. So ladies and gentlemen, if you're ready to brave this trip with me here today, soon to be traveling through uncharted waters, well sit back, get comfy, settle in, put your tray table in it's upright and locked position, and get ready for a discussion on how one of the top skating instructor's in the world non traditionally teaches. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderfully productive day!

Don Olivett The Mind Mentor09 Mar 202200:27:57

Don Olivett isn't the head coach of a team, but he is a HEAD COACH.  I was really struggling with my thoughts during my first year pro and it was affecting my performance on the ice in a negative way.  Ollie taught me a number of strategies to manage my mind more positively and those lessons I learned over 30 years ago, I still use to this day when I get off the rails from time to time.  Great messaging, tips and advice!!  If you're interested in connecting with Don, shoot me an email to goals@onlinehockeytraining.com and I'll get you in touch with him.

Tim Jackman's Hockey Journey of Patience and Endurance06 Mar 202201:04:27

My next guest Tim Jackman would have scared the crap out of me if I had to play against him, as he was as tough as they came.  This Minnesota native was a second-round pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2001 NHL draft.  Played 2 seasons of college hockey at Minnesota State University, and became the first student-athlete from that university to play in the NHL.  In his 14 year professional career, he ended up playing 483 games, in the show, putting up 75 points and 806 penalty minutes.  A hockey journey that had a foundation of patience and endurance

Lance Pitlick’s Player Journey Part 406 Feb 202200:42:54

In part 4 and final episode on my journey as a hockey player, we'll cover the final 2 years I played for the Ottawa Senators, where I finally sign a one-way contract, I become a father.  I had to deal with a roommate that was a sleepwalker, I make it to free agency, and had

to say goodbye to all of our Canadian friends, as we make a move down to South Florida and all the fun that came along with that ride.  And finally, I have to answer the question every hockey player has to ask themselves at some point, can I continue on for one more year,

or is it time to retire?

Jackie Pieper Hockey Journey EP13117 Mar 202400:59:59

Welcome to Today's Episode!

I'm excited to share with you the story of Jackie Pieper's incredible hockey journey today. It all started when a mom of one of the players I coach (who's a big fan of the podcast, by the way) suggested that Jackie would make an amazing guest. And wow, was she right!

The Journey to the Top

Jackie Pieper has truly climbed the hockey mountain, achieving her dream of playing college hockey. I'm eager to unpack her journey with you, starting from the very beginning. Jackie's passion for hockey was sparked early on by her mom, who shared her own love of the sport with her children. But as we all know, the road to success is rarely smooth. Jackie and her family faced their share of tough times, particularly when her older brother Duke, at just 15 years old, was given only a 5% chance to survive a serious health challenge.

Continuing the Legacy

But Jackie's impact on hockey didn't stop when she hung up her competitive skates. She's been inspiring the next wave of hockey talents, coaching various teams over the years and currently offering private small-group on-ice skills training. Beyond the ice, Jackie continues to make a difference as a speech pathologist, bringing her passion for helping others into another aspect of her life.

If you're ready for a dose of inspiration, grab your favorite drink, and let's dive into a story that's sure to tug at your heartstrings. Here we go :)

Presley Norby Hockey Journey 06 Feb 202200:48:10

In this episode, you'll hear the hockey journey of Presley Norby.  A native to Minnesota, where she grew up playing youth hockey, won a State High School Championship, was captain her senior year, and won Ms. Hockey as well that year.  An award given to the best female high school player in the state.  If that wasn't enough, she also won some hardware playing for Team USA over the years and capped off an incredible hockey career, winning a National Championship with the Wisconsin Badgers.  Let's hear about her hockey journey!

Lance Pitlick Player Journey Part 330 Jan 202200:29:48

Today we'll rewind the tape and begin by seeing if I get to stay in Hershey my 4th year, or will I be sent to the East Coast League.  Then, the next chapter begins, Canada and the Ottawa Senators here I come.  In this episode, I'll become an AHL All-Star, play in my first NHL game at the age of 27, become an everyday player in the NHL and was part of history, when the Senators make the playoffs for the first time in the modern era.  And some other stories along the way.

Lance Pitlick Player Journey Part 230 Jan 202200:37:44

Here we'll dipped our toes into the first 3 years of my professional hockey career, where I was exposed to extreme travel conditions that I never experienced before, and had an Olympic run that turned out to be the most challenging winter season I ever had.  I scored my first professional goal, got my first tooth knocked out, got married, and now find myself going into training camp with the Hershey Bears back in the fall of 1993, after being a healthy scratch for over 3 months at the end of the previous season, thinking I’m heading down to the league below the AHL, the East Coast Hockey League, and that’s where we begin today.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
