Healing with disability and learning to navigate life in a very un-empathetic world

Samantha is an actress, presenter, disability activist, inclusion and equality consultant and keynote speaker. She is a columnist for the Metro and often writes about what it is like to be disabled in a disabling word. She was born with a rare genetic condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (or more commonly known as Brittle Bone condition) and is a full-time wheelchair user. She has recently published an amazing and inspiring book called; “You are the best thing since sliced bread” in a nutshell it talks about how to embrace your uniqueness as that is what makes you fabulous. I’m so thrilled to have Samantha on as she has so much light and healing to offer this world and its wonderful to talk about healing with disability and learning to navigate life in a very unempathic world.

Healing using makeup in a sustainable way

Justine Jenkins is a celebrity make up artist, activist, beauty expert and industry reformer. She has done make up for clients such as Fearne Cotton, Jodie comer, Laura Whitmore, Vicky McClure, Suranne Jones, Emily Beecham, Along side many others.

Justin has been a make-up artist for 23 years. she was one of the first permanent make-up artists in London to go entirely cruelty free after she discovered most cosmetic brands were still testing on animals. Her mantra is “if you don’t stand for something you fool for everything” so she stood up for what she felt was morally right and I love that!

she’s written hundreds of articles on the subject and the body shop invited her to present a petition to the EU in Brussels calling for a global ban on cosmetic animal testing. She’s also written a book called sustainable beauty!

As she says, change cannot happen overnight but she believes that if everybody puts in a bit of effort and is a more awake on the situation things can change.

It was wonderful to have her on to talk all about healing through make up and sustainability.
