Improving Fertility with the Carnivore Diet | Dr Robert Kiltz on The Hart of Health Podcast E4905 Apr 202301:03:03
In this podcast episode, we interview Dr Robert Kiltz about fertility and the carnivore diet.

Dr. Kiltz is an accomplished fertility doctor who has gained recognition for his work in reducing the cost of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to one-third of the national average. He has been featured in numerous media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and The Today Show for his groundbreaking achievements in reproductive medicine.

As a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a board-certified expert in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, Dr. Kiltz has established himself as a leading figure in his field. He founded CNY Fertility and has worked as a clinical faculty member at both UCSF Medical School and the University of Syracuse Medical School.

Dr. Kiltz has a passion for the ketogenic/carnivore diet and believes that optimal nutrition is essential for both fertility and overall health and wellness. Drawing on decades of clinical practice, he has discovered that the foods we eat and how frequently we consume them are the primary causes of infertility and many other human diseases. He advocates for a carnivore diet that centers around fatty animal foods, which provides optimal nutrition while avoiding unhealthy carbohydrates, vegetable oils, and plant toxins. He also recommends intermittent feasting, such as eating one meal a day (OMAD).

Dr. Kiltz is an accomplished author and blogger, with a prolific presence in the keto carnivore space. He has published several books, including his most recent collaboration with Maria Emmerich, the Keto for Fertility Cookbook. He also hosts an interview series called Carnivore Conversations, which is broadcast on all major podcast platforms. This show examines how the keto/carnivore diet can improve health and environmental issues associated with the Standard American Diet (SAD).

In addition to his own media channels, Dr. Kiltz is a frequent speaker at fertility and dietary conferences and has shared his views as a speaker at TEDx. He appears regularly on popular blogs like DietDoctor.com and social media outlets. Dr. Kiltz has even launched his own line of grass-fed, pasture-raised, nutritional supplements called Doctor Kiltz Nutritional Solutions.

The Real French Paradox: Why are the French So Much Healthier? | The Hart of Health Podcast E4024 Feb 202200:23:40
Have you heard of the French Paradox before? It refers to the low incidence of mortality rates from heart disease in France, even though the French tend to consume a lot of saturated fat. This has led researchers to try and find other reasons why the French might be so healthy, such as their red wine intake, the fact that they snack less, their smaller portions, etc.

In this podcast episode, we're taking a look at The French Paradox and explain what we think of it and why we think the French are generally healthier. Is it time to eat more like the French.

Hope you enjoy the show.

Sacred Cow: Our Review of The Documentary | A Great Case for Better Meat | The Hart of Health Podcast E2625 Nov 202000:42:52

We watched Sacred Cow! In a world where veganism is on the rise and more and more people are making false claims that if we stop eating meat, we can save the environment, society needs this documentary.

It was made by incredible people like Diana Rodgers, James Connolly and Robb Wolf. And guess what? The legendary Nick Offerman even narrates the film! We highly recommend you watch it when it comes out.

Spoilers alert. In the Sacred Cow documentary, they discuss very important topics, such as:

  • Claims that cancer and obesity are caused by red meat consumption
  • Humans don’t need to consume animal products to be healthy.
  • The impact of raising livestock on the environment versus mono-crop agriculture
  • The ethics of eating animals
  • Desertification
  • Regenerative agriculture
  • Why you shouldn't eat that beyond meat burger (we recommend going animal-based instead).

This is not even the full tip of the iceberg. If you're into animal-based eating and want to learn more about regenerative agriculture, watch Sacred Cow as soon as you can!

The Health At Every Size and Fat Acceptance Movement Podcast | The Hart of Health Podcast E2026 Jun 202000:48:30

Have you heard about the Health At Every Size (HAES) or even just the Fat Acceptance movements? As a couple of people obsessed with health and wellness, we decided to do a podcast episode in which we discuss our thoughts and opinions on the movements.

In the episode, we discuss things, such as:

  • Can you really be healthy at every size?
  • Does the health at every size movement apply to people who are anorexic?
  • Binge eating disorder.
  • How the children of parents who are part of the fat acceptance movement are affected.
  • How the Health at Every Size Movement can be problematic for doctors.
  • Ignoring science in order to not hurt people's feelings.

This was quite a fascinating topic to discuss. We probably could have spoken for a few hours on the topic, but perhaps we will do another podcast about the fat acceptance, HAES, and body positivity movements in future episodes.

We hope you enjoy the podcast!

The Carnivore Diet Q&A Episode | The Hart of Health Podcast E1802 Jun 202000:45:43

We love the carnivore diet so much that we decided to do a Q&A episode about it. If you are confused about whether the carnivore diet is healthy and whether you should try animal-based eating, hopefully this podcast episode will help you get some clarity.

The questions that we answer in this podcast are:

  • Is the carnivore diet healthy?
  • Does Carnivore Diet reduce inflammation?
  • Does the carnivore diet put you in ketosis?
  • What can you eat on the carnivore diet?
  • What can I drink on the Carnivore Diet?
  • How much meat does the carnivore diet eat per day?
  • How do you cook meat on a carnivore diet?

We hope you enjoy the podcast! If you haven't tried an animal-based diet, what are you waiting for?

How I Got My Period Back Naturally With PCOS After 1,5 Years | The Hart of Health Podcast E1727 May 202000:20:26
This podcast episode is especially exciting because I got my period back for the first time in a year and a half! I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and losing your period is actually quite common if you have this condition.

Even though I was told I needed hormonal birth control in order to get my period back, I still managed to get mine back naturally. In this episode of the Hart of Health, we talk about what we think helped me get my period back.

I did not have to gain weight like a lot of women do who might struggle with Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, but you can lose your period for many reasons. Personally, I think managing stress was a big factor in my own amenorrhea story.

Will do another podcast about my hormonal struggles with PCOS in the future.

Hope you enjoy the podcast!

The Price of Lockdown: How The Coronavirus Lockdown is Affecting Our Health And Finances Negatively | The Hart of Health Podcast E1612 May 202000:25:06
This podcast episode is a little serious. While we believe that governments are doing what they think is best to reduce the number of deaths from the Coronavirus (Covid-19), we cannot ignore the implication of putting an entire country on lockdown.

In this podcast episode, we discuss various negative effects that we have observed and predict will happen, such as an increase in suicide rates, loneliness, weight gain due to overeating or eating out of boredom, people not being able to get the healthcare they need for other treatments, etc.

We also discuss the financial implications of so many businesses not being able to operate.

The views we express are merely our opinions on the subject matter.

The Carnivore Diet As An Elimination Diet | The Hart of Health Podcast E1505 May 202000:31:00
On this podcast episode, we talk about following the carnivore diet as an elimination diet and to treat medical conditions, and we also talk about how Jonathan is feeling after a month of being on a strict carnivore diet.

Have you tried an elimination diet yet? If you haven't tried it, we highly recommend an animal-based or carnivore diet. And if you have tried an elimination diet, but it was full of potentially toxic plant foods,  then try an animal-based one! There's no rule that says you cannot try more than one elimination diet to see which foods are best for you and which you should avoid instead.

Plant-Based vs Animal-Based Diet – Part 1 | The Hart of Health Podcast E4405 Jul 202200:52:41
Which diet is better – a plant-based or animal-based diet? In this podcast episode, we compare these two diets to help you figure out if a plant-based diet really is good for you and if an animal-based diet high in meat and other animal products is better or worse.

We compare various aspects of diet, such as nutrient bioavailability, whether plant foods or animal foods are easier to digest, plant-based vs real meat, and which diet is more ancestrally appropriate – one extremely high in plant foods or one that is high in animal foods like meat, eggs, and dairy.

There were too many aspects to compare, so this is part 1 of "Plant-Based vs Animal-Based Diet". Expect part 2 shortly.

Hope you enjoy the show.
