In this special episode, Claire, Ben, Becca and John had the chance to chat it up with Carlos Eduardo Silva who is the creator of Ponto Orlando and Ponto Miami - two Portuguese language online Florida content channels aimed at our Brazilian Disney-loving cousins.

Carlos also hosts the regular weekly “After hours - Let’s Talk Disney” live Facebook and YouTube show on a Thursday night with his friends Jason Canapp (whom we interviewed back on show episode 15) from Here with the Magic and Collin Kendall from Guide4WDW.

We had so much fun talking to Carlos - we covered all sorts of topics- from WDW to his previous trip to DLP, a very special Disney dinner party, and also Formula 1 racing, football (yes - Football, not soccer) and even some stellar music from the 1980’s that John particularly enjoyed.

And of course - as is now traditional with our interviews, Carlos faced the GBMW Carousel of Questions!

Despite being born thousands of miles away from the UK, we certainly found that there were more similarities in our love for Disney and connections with friends than there were differences.

Some of us Wafflers are hoping to get over to WDW as soon as we are able to fly again and a Caipirinha (or 6) with Carlos is definitely on the list of priorities.

We may even let the other 2 join us.

In this episode Lloyd takes the reins as we virtually get together for our 1st Birthday party. As the sun rises on the parks once again, we feel a wave of positivity for future visits and all agree it’s the right time to talk about what we miss the most, or in brighter times what we look forward to the most. 

We have the last Carousel of Questions in our quick fire decision series. This time John takes us through his answers. You will all have seen the Guardians of the Galaxy refresh to the Tower of Terror over in Anaheim. Some love the change of theme to what is in essence the same ride. This gets the team thinking about which rides would suit a new theme. Anything is up for grabs, even IPs within the Marvel and Star Wars galaxies. Some of the Wafflers are in the wrong job, imagineering here they come! 

We have the usual ‘Mickey Mentions’. Not so many trip announcements this time, but plenty of birthdays and anniversaries for the team to send a well timed “congratultions” to. We also learn that Lloyd was tricked into filming a cooking show with Peter. That video is now available on our YouTube channel. 

Round three of the, It’s a Disney Knockout competition is another tough one. The Wafflers are forced to choose entertainment and centrepieces for the Birthday Party. It's also that time of year when we are all trying to eat that little bit healthier so we take a look at whether you can or should eat healthy at Walt Disney World. With Valentine's Day not too far away and budgets being stretched by our many trips to the Mouse, we try and spend less than $50 for a romantic evening at Disney. This month, for our Great British Mickey Waffle Mid-month show, the team of Wafflers, led by Claire, made some new friends - or as they like to call their own community - ‘Ohana.

The team of Matt and Krystle from Married to Disney Addict Podcast and community joined us for a chat that, quite frankly, could have kept going for hours and hours and hours!

Claire had joined Matt and Krystle for one of their shows back in December and had a load of fun, so we invited them to join us to waffle about some Disney history, and future.

First of all though, as newcomers to our community we extended the warm and fuzzy hug of welcome, known only as the Carousel of Questions. It’s been a couple of years since this feature was retired - maybe we should bring it back for new guests? Let us know in the comments if you think we should. 

After that we chatted about some classic attractions that have long since hung up their offerings to guests, and whether we as a group believe that what has replaced them is better… or worse? 

Is Frozen Ever After an improvement on Maelstrom? 

Is Toy Story Land a better experience than the classic MGM Studios Backlot Tour? 

Could Creations ever be preferable to Mouse Gear? 

And the one we found the hardest - is Baseline Tap House an adequate replacement for the glory and oasis that was The Writer’s Stop?

We discuss attractions, restaurants, shopping and even some night-time spectaculars and decide if the newer offerings are a step up, or a step down from the previous inhabitants of that space.

Their Disney experiences go back a while, even sharing that infamous Family Tour in 2011 when both Claire and John actually met in Magic Kingdom and never knew each other! 

We discuss how they arrived at this exciting point in their lives, the selection process, the interviews, the waiting and the realisation that they are heading to Walt Disney World to work for Disney this summer.

October 15th has arrived very quickly and as we rush towards the Christmas season, we stop off briefly, to have a chat with Sean Lee about his recent return to Walt Disney World.

Claire is in charge, with her glamorous assistants Ben and John, and true to form, she breaks all the rules by bringing back “for one show only”, the Great British Mickey Waffle Carousel of Questions. 

Sean is subjected to the classic lines of enquiry, which range from snacks to car parks, and of course - the battle of the Animal Kingdom shows. 

We had a great chat with Sean, whom is a regular in the chat on our Wafflers’ Wednesday shows, about his trip to WDW in September, where he stayed in a value resort for the first time; having always previously enjoyed DVC or deluxe resorts. We covered all the essential trip highlights from attractions to food, parks to food, resorts to food… you get the picture! 

Sean also popped up to Universal for the first time ever - join us for the show on Youtube or via your podcast provider of choice to see whether he managed to overcome any anxiety around the coasters and rides and if he enjoyed it as much (or more) than Walt Disney World.
