Max is a highly skilled and experienced grappling coach with a passion for helping his students achieve their full potential. He began his coaching career in 2013 in Chicago, where he quickly established himself as a top-notch coach with a deep understanding of grappling techniques and strategies.

Over the years, Max has had the opportunity to work with a variety of MMA fighters, including some of the most successful fighters in the sport. Some of the fighters he has worked with include Yair Rodriguez, Holly Holm, Paddy Pimblett, Jeremy Stephens, and Jay-Jay Wilson. His extensive experience in coaching top-level fighters has given him a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed in MMA.

Currently, Max teaches classes at two different locations in San Diego – The Arena and Studio 540. His classes are designed to help students of all levels develop their grappling skills and improve their overall fitness and conditioning. Sam Crook is Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach at Flo Martial Arts in Plymouth, UK and a 1st Degree Black Belt under Marco Canha (Fightzone / Checkmat). He was the Head BJJ Coach at the Francis Ngannou (Former UFC Heavyweight World Champion) Foundation in Cameroon from 2019-2023, where he was bringing BJJ to underprivileged children and first met his now adopted son, Franck.

Sam and Franck have been incredibly successful and prolific BJJ competitors in the UK since their return to the UK, before Sam suffered his horrific injury in January. Sam's battle to support Franck and keep him in the UK is still ongoing at the time of this release.

Malachy Friedman is a second-degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the legendary Master Ricardo Liborio of Carlson Gracie lineage. With almost 20 years of experience, Professor Friedman is adept in multiple fight disciplines including MMA, BJJ, Boxing, Muay Thai and Wrestling.

Malachy started his training with the late UFC Middle-Weight Champion, Evan Tanner. After years of competition, he joined American Top Team in Coconut Creek (2006-2015) where he coached beginners and champs, including the late, great Kimbo Slice to his win against Ken Shamrock at Bellator. Malachy cornered and coached Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters, IBJJF and ADCC BJJ competitors, and hundreds of newcomers to the sport.

Frass has also trained extensively in the disciplines of Muay Thai, Judo and the Filipino Martial Arts. Frass has competition experience in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as he has won a CBJJ Brazilian National Championship in 2012.

Frass is the founder and Head Coach of the Warriors Academy in Kansas City. Frass also trains the Military Police in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas City, and is certified by the NRA for Defense Tactical Shooting. Frass has also hosted seminars all over the globe including places like Abu Dhabi, London and Saudi Arabia.

Ryan “Mo” Morris MBE has dedicated his career to the British Military, spearheading significant culture change towards mental health education in the Royal Marines. He is a teacher, coach and mentor with extensive experience of working with people within the community and service, promoting resilience and developing strategies for coping with stress.

Passing out with flying colours, Mo went on to serve in some of the world’s most demanding locations such as Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan’s Helmand province as a Captain in the Royal Marines. Returning to the corps as a physical training instructor, Mo trains new recruits to develop their physical performance, as well as working with amputees to overcome their adversity and prepare people to compete in the Invictus Games and Paralympic Games.

Kit Dale is a Black Belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is Australia’s most decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete of all time. He received his black belt by multiple time world champion Yuri Simoes in 2013, after training for only 4 years. This puts Kit Dale among the fastest people to ever receive a black belt in BJJ.

Kit has competed and won competitions at the highest level in Australia, Japan, Abu Dhabi, USA, BRazil, London and many more. He has won competitions at all belts including the Abu Dhabi World Pro held in Abu Dhabi, the Brazilian nationals held in Brazil and the Australian cup held in Australia. He made it to the Quarter Finals in the Mundial World Championships held in LA after two years off with a knee surgery.

Not only is Kit one of the best Brazilian jiu-jitsu athletes in the world, he is also one of the best coaches and consultants. He has travelled over 20 countries teaching seminars and Jiu-jitsu camps. On top of this he has an online program for Jiu-jitsu where he has sold over 11.000 of his instructional videos called “The Art of Learning Jiu-jitsu”.

Owen Jones is the 2023 ADCC European, Middle East & Asian Trials Champion at 66kg, qualifying him for the ADCC World Championships in 2024. Natan Levy is an Israeli professional mixed martial artist who competes in the lightweight division in the UFC with a record of 8-2. Prior to his professional MMA career, Levy worked as a martial arts instructor and ran a Karate dojo in Tel Aviv, Israel. After being awarded his 3rd degree black belt in Uechi-Ryū Karate, he moved to Las Vegas at the age of 22 in order to train in mixed martial arts and pursue a professional career.

He started training BJJ in 2003 right after high school. He's been training constantly since then and received my black belt from Renato Tavares in 2011. Over the years he's had the chance to experience jiu-jitsu from multiple vantage points. Everything from competing and training 3 times a day to being injured and feeling miserable because he couldn't roll.

He's been teaching full time since 2010 and since then he has either won or helped his students win the Worlds, Pan Ams and other IBJJF tournaments as well as various highly acknowledged tournaments like Grapplers Quest,  NAGA, EG., OGC and many others.

Justin was instrumental in the development of multiple MMA champions including Ronda Rousey, who he trained and cornered during her UFC championship run. Justin also trains and coaches Cat Zingano, Dominick Cruz, Jay Jay Wilson, Jessica Penne, Paddy Pimblett and many more. Justin has led the USA Judo team in coaching duties all over the world and was named head coach of the 2017-2019 world teams. Justin also coaches numerous up and coming middle school, high school and college wrestling athletes whom have become champions at every level.

As a representative of the US National judo team from 2002-2008, Justin was a 3x National champion, Pan American medalist and collected 20+ top 7 finishes on the world stage at international events. Also an accomplished wrestler, Justin was a high school state champion in California and an all-American and earned a full ride scholarship to division 1 powerhouse University of Nebraska cornhuskers. There, Justin was ranked in the top 10 nationally and was on the starting line up in both his freshman and sophomore seasons before moving to New York to focus on judo. 

Justin also earned his Jiu-Jitsu black belt in under 4 years from the legendary Fabio Santos.

His athletes include Rafael Lovato Jr., Xande Ribeiro, Josh Burkman, Gilbert Burns, Michael Johnson, Vagner Rocha, Aung La Nsang as well as artists & entertainers Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn, Slash, Courtney Cox, Rene Russo, Meg Ryan and Jennifer Aniston. 

Cameron received his black belt in Olympic Style Taekwondo under Masters Paul & Dan Harmon in 1992. He received his black belt in Yoshukai Japanese Karate-do under Shihan Jerry Blanck in 2003. He received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Xande Ribeiro and Rafael Lovato Jr. in 2022.

Doctor Kickass (Mike Piekarski) is a BJJ Black Belt and Practicing Doctor in Physical Therapy. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University in upstate New York, where he first discovered Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. After graduating, Mike began competing in Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, and submission grappling. After turning professional as a Mixed Martial Artist, he decided to change his focus and return to school. 

Mike attended Stony Brook University in Long Island, where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. After graduate school Mike moved to Los Angeles. During this time he earned the rank of black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and became recognized as a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist by the American Physical Therapy Association. Mike currently lives in Eastern Washington and works with a variety of athletes as a Sports Physical Therapist.

Jamie Horseman has lived two lives; Now he is a 45 Year Old Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and Head Coach at Centaur BJJ based at MoreCore Gym in Saltash, UK; and Re-Org Charity Affiliate Gym, Pantheon in Plymouth, UK. Jamie is prolific competitor, having won the IBJJF Europeans at Masters on a number of occasions on his way to achieving his Black Belt. As a Black he still continues to compete whenever possible.

Owen Livesey is a British Judo and BJJ Black Belt, Submission Grappler and Owner of Carlson Gracie Hull. He notably competed in Judo at an international level for Great Britain and England and won a Gold Medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the Men's 81kg division.

Now, Owen in one of the biggest British names on the Professional Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling scene. This year he competed against former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman in the main event of Polaris 23. At Quintet 4 where he represented Team Polaris and fought against Nick Rodriguez (Nicky Rod). He then competed in an 8-man absolute grand prix tournament at Polaris 25 where he faced Fabricio Andrey.

Sam Crook was the Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach at Francis Ngannou's (Former UFC Heavyweight World Champion) foundation in Cameroon from 2019-2023, where he was bringing BJJ to underprivileged children. He is a well-accomplished jiu-jitsu black belt under Marco Canha which he achieved after reaching Brown Belt under Darren Yeoman. 

Sam's remarkable story takes him from being an uninspired young man in the UK, to finding and dedicating himself to BJJ and eventually taking a chance, moving to Cameroon where his life was changed forever. Arriving a single man, Sam now has two adopted teenage boys, a wife, a stepson and a newborn and is currently battling to bring his family home to the UK.
