| Music Is My Shlichus - with Esther Freeman | 17 May 2022 | 00:27:49 | |
Join the discussion group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Lj6a5VZhRnBKCumXLE43QK
Going back to our routes with an interview of a singer/songwriter- Esther Freeman. We talk about the challenging aspects of being one of the first "kol isha" superstars and the challenges that came with that. How social media changed the game and how unhealthy it can be for someone who just wants to do sing and not focus on the "influencing" in the SM way.
About Our Guest: Esther Freeman is an accomplished performer who brings incredible energy, a beautiful voice, powerful stage presence, creative song-writing and true meaning to the stage. Born and raised in Miami Florida as the 5th child to a lubavitch family of 7, Esther displayed musical ability at a young age and portrayed a real desire to inspire. Having refused an option to become a singer on the radio at 14, Esther was not dettered from her musical aspirations and decided to use it as a means to bringing others closer to Judaism. She began composing music and writing her own lyrics, accompanying herself on guitar and piano over 15 years ago. Since then, Esther has electrified audiences across the globe, in Amsterdam, London, Sweden, throughout the United States and has performed at the international Kinus Hashluchos twice. Esther's music ranges from slow soulful ballads to high-energy songs and are accompanied by personal stories and deep Jewish and chassidic concepts bound to capture, inspire and warm the hearts of her audience. What unites all of her songs are the meaningful lyrics that reflect her desire to share the beauty of Judaism with the world. Follow Esther on Instgram: https://www.instagram.com/esthersmusic/ This interview is released just in time for Lag B'omer as we renintroduce music back into our lives.

| "The Silence Was So Loud" [Malka Leifer] - with Nicole Meyer | 04 Jun 2024 | 01:05:15 | |
Do you enjoy the Franciska Show? Then please consider treating me to a cup of coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/franciska Email Franciska: franciskakay@gmail.com Surviving the Silence: Nicole Meyer's Journey Through Abuse and Healing In this heartfelt and revealing episode, Nicole Meyer opens up about her harrowing experiences of abuse by Malka Leifer, a charismatic yet manipulative school principal who groomed and abused her and fellow students over several years. Nicole highlights the grooming process, the abuse, and the dire effects on her life, education, and intimate relationships. She discusses the community's reaction, or lack thereof, the legal battles to bring Malka to justice, and her personal journey from the initial trauma to healing and advocacy. Nicole's story sheds light on the often-overlooked issue of female abusers and the importance of breaking the silence surrounding abuse in tight-knit communities.
About The Guest: Nicole Meyer is a victim/survivor of Malka Leifer. She is committed to raising awareness of the impact of sexual abuse and supporting survivors both in and out of the community. She uses her own lived experience to support others and feels it’s of absolute importance that communities, especially religious or insular communities realise how abuse thrives in silence. Nicole hopes that speaking out will be inspiring and helpful for other survivors to feel validated and heard, particularly those in religious communities who may not be able to speak up yet. She hopes to inspire change is the stigmatisation and the approach by community leaders to survivors of sexual abuse. Nicole lives in Melbourne, Australia and has taught for 13 years. She has been campaigning for 6 years.

To contact Franciska: Leiba is a cofounder of 10K Batay Yisroel. She is a high school friend of Yisroel Levin AH's sister and just like the rest of the Klal Yisroel, she wanted to do her part in doing something as a z’chus for Yisroel a”h and his fiance Elisheva Kaplan a”h after they were killed in a tragic car accident. After watching the funeral and hearing Yisroel's father speak, Leiba and her friend started this movement when they realized that this is exactly what Klal Yisroel needs. Each person in Klal Yisroel is the key to helping out the singles they know that are in Shidduchim by taking the time to think about ideas and networking for them. You do not have to be a professional to suggest a shidduch! While Leiba is a full time software developer, she is fully devoted to running and managing 10K Batay Yisroel and hopes that everyone in Klal Yisroel will take time out of their busy lives and think of ideas and suggest them today! info@10Kbatayyisroel.org IG: @10Kbatayyisroel The Afikoman Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vtb7rmvx4po Hamakom by Franciska: [kol isha] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OawiiEca1lk | |||
