| Ep 346 The Rules We Never Agreed To | 15 Oct 2026 | 00:11:22 | |
I was quite the rebel in my younger years, although my good girl tendencies had a habit of keeping that wild child trussed up in her Sunday best. It took me time to recognise how many unwritten rules I had accepted, from believing I had to be entertaining to thinking that challenging authority meant being a fast track to dismissal. Some of those beliefs were mine to question. Others were rules I had helped pass on to others, even when part of me knew better. These days, I see beliefs as working assumptions that need examining against the evidence. We do not have to keep obeying rules simply because someone else decided they were the done thing.
Key Points
🔑 The rules we inherit 🔑 Beliefs are tools, not truths 🔑 Choosing which rules to observe

| Ep 345 The Receipts We Hoard | 08 Oct 2026 | 00:10:34 | |
I know I have a drawer full of mental receipts, and I suspect I am not alone. They are the bits of evidence we keep to remind ourselves of what we did or did not do, particularly when the experience has acquired a meaning involving regret, shame or embarrassment. But memories are reconstructed and embellished, and the meaning we make of what happens to us may not accurately reflect the reality of the situation. So rather than deciding that we need to chuck everything out without so much as a backwards glance, I am exploring what happens when we sort by the value those receipts add. My trusty old friend Transactional Analysis has something useful to offer here, particularly the Adult ego state, where we can sift without comparison, attachment to outcome and quite so much emotion. Asking how many receipts we have in itself is the wrong question because we what need to ask is what they are costing us to keep.
Key Points 🔑 Question the meaning 🔑 Sort by value 🔑 Notice what you hoard

| Knowing Yourself Is Only the Beginning | Becoming Braver Adventure | 01 Oct 2026 | 00:09:11 | |
Knowing myself has been a lifelong project, and I suspect it will remain one because I'm still discovering things about me that I thought I already knew. But knowing why I do something doesn't automatically mean I am going to do anything differently. Self-awareness is useful information, but it isn't the destination; what I do with that information is where the interesting bit begins. For me, that increasingly means experimentation: trying something, paying attention to what happens and deciding what the evidence is telling me. Because there is a subtle difference between having insight and using insight. So, what do you know about yourself that you have been using to understand your behaviour, and what might happen if you used that same knowledge to experiment with changing one small thing?
Key points 📌Self-awareness isn't the destination 📌Insight needs experimenting 📌Small experiments without attachment

| Ep 344 The Permission We Keep Waiting For | 01 Oct 2026 | 00:13:34 | |
This feels like a fitting way to bring season 29 to a close because, when I look back over 344 episodes, I can see that the permission I was waiting for was not always as obvious as I thought. Years ago, I had the idea to start a podcast, but my limiting beliefs had me dawdle and doubt myself until someone who knew about podcasts simply said, "Sounds like a great idea to me!" And there it was, the permission I did not know I had been waiting for. But reflecting on those 29 seasons has helped me realise that my permission seeking had quietly morphed from asking if it was OK for me to do something into needing permission to be something, in my case, to be fully myself. Perhaps the bigger question is what happens when someone else's permission carries more weight than our own, and what it takes to notice that we have been waiting for it.
Key points 📌 From doing to being 📌When permission becomes toxic 📌My permission comes first

| Successful And Still Frustrated? | Becoming Braver | 27 Sep 2026 | 00:07:45 | |
Have you ever caught yourself saying, "Well, I can't grumble, I'm doing alright really", whilst another part of you is quietly thinking, "Are you sure?"
Sometimes everything on the outside suggests we are doing just fine. We have the career, the position, the experience. We have worked hard and perhaps become rather good at coping, adapting and getting on with it.
But what if that niggling frustration is trying to tell us something?
What have you achieved that genuinely matters to you? Where have you become so good at getting on with it that you have stopped asking whether this is still how you want to live and work?
Perhaps frustration is worth listening to rather than telling ourselves to be grateful and carry on.
Key points 📌 Success means different things to different people 📌 Frustration may be telling us something 📌 What matters to you now?

| Ep 343 What Is Mine to Change | 24 Sep 2026 | 00:12:54 | |
We introverts do not need fixing, but that does not mean there is no room for growth, development and becoming braver. I have been thinking about what actually needs to change, what I want to change, and what is within my control or influence to change, because those are not necessarily the same thing. There is also a line of sight from our own behaviour through culture and into wider systems, and we have more influence than we may realise. The trick is knowing when something really is ours to change, and when we have simply decided it is our job to sort it out. And yes, there is a difference.

| Becoming Braver is Messy - But Worth It | 22 Sep 2026 | 00:14:44 | |
What if becoming braver isn't about finally reaching a point where we can say, "Right, that's bravery sorted"? I'm still becoming braver myself, still getting the collywobbles, and still having to choose bravery when fear would make staying put so much easier. My messy journey has made me curious about the complexity of the bravery continuum, and about what sits between recklessness and cowardice. Perhaps becoming braver is about getting curious enough to notice what is holding us back, then deciding what matters enough to inspire us to take the next step. And perhaps that is why it is an adventure rather than a challenge. Key points

| What Is Frustration Telling You? | Becoming Braver Bonus | 21 Sep 2026 | 00:06:27 | |
Have you ever caught yourself sighing with frustration, accompanied by an eye-roll, and wondered what on earth that was about? Sometimes there is no single catastrophe to point at. Just years of adapting, being reasonable, giving someone else the benefit of the doubt, pushing through and thinking probably not worth making a fuss about. But what if our frustrations are worth exploring rather than guiltily fixing on the quiet? What have you been putting up with, where have you been holding yourself back, and what have you become so accustomed to that you no longer question it? Perhaps that little sigh contains rather more information than we give it credit for. Key points

| Ep 342 The Performance of Certainty | 17 Sep 2026 | 00:11:30 | |
I have been thinking about certainty, and the curious pressure we seem to feel to know, or at least pretend to know, when life itself gives us very little guarantee. I explore why we introverts can be particularly susceptible to this, given how much we value getting our facts straight and knowing that our contribution is sound before we speak. Yet the more I think about it, the more I see that bravery is not found in having all the answers. It is found in recognising what we do and do not know, understanding where our influence begins and ends, and having the courage to respond rather than react when uncertainty turns up. There is something rather liberating about being able to say I do not know and still stand firmly in my power.

| Ep 341 When Guilt Can F*** Right off! | 10 Sep 2026 | 00:09:43 | |
There was a time when I would quietly hunt for the nearest escape route whenever my mental, social or emotional batteries were running down, and then feel guilty as hell for needing to leave. It took me a surprisingly long time to realise that protecting my energy was not making a fuss, being boring or being weird. As a recovering people pleaser and reformed perfectionist, I had become rather good at accepting the guilty candies other people were dishing out. But what happens when the guilt being handed to us is measured against somebody else's values rather than our own? In this episode, I explore the difference between guilt and shame, why guarding what is precious to us is not something we need to apologise for, and why sometimes guilt really does need to do one. Because not everyone deserves access to our energy, our mindset or our time.

| Ep 340 The Strengths We Outgrow | 03 Sep 2026 | 00:13:49 | |
For much of my early career, I felt like the shiny ball in a pinball machine, bouncing from role to role and team to team, trying to work out where I truly belonged. Along the way, I became very good at being flexible, adaptable and reliable, but I eventually had to ask whether those qualities were actually my real strengths, or simply what other people had learned to value about me. That distinction matters, because a strength is not simply something we are good at. It is something we are good at and enjoy, and that changes what we can sustainably bring to our work and our lives. I have learned that some strengths need developing, some need redefining, and some need to be taken out of the magic bag of tricks altogether. The question is, which of your strengths are genuinely taking you where you want to go?

| Ep 339 How Reasonable is TOO Reasonable | 27 Aug 2026 | 00:13:53 | |
I am a trusting soul, so for rather too long I assumed that everyone else played by the same rules I did. The reality turned out to be a bit of a shock to the system. I have come to realise that the qualities that make we introverts thoughtful, calm, empathic and accommodating can also leave us open to being taken for mugs if we are not paying attention. The trick is not becoming less reasonable, but learning to recognise when being reasonable has tipped into being too soft. That takes discernment, boundaries and, increasingly for me, bravery.

| Ep 338 The Reliability Trap | 20 Aug 2026 | 00:11:13 | |
Being reliable is one of those qualities we introverts are often praised for, and there is plenty to admire about being our word. But when being the dependable one becomes the role everyone expects us to play, it can cast a rather long shadow over what else we might be capable of. I have found myself questioning whether some of the work I was so reliably doing was actually my great work, or whether I was simply feathering somebody else's nest. That is where reliability becomes a trap. So in this episode, I am rattling a few bars of that cage and asking what it would look like to remain trustworthy while also becoming more dependable to ourselves and the work that matters to us.

| Ep 337 The One-Way Street | 13 Aug 2026 | 00:12:28 | |
I have been thinking about the one way streets we introverts can find ourselves travelling along without ever realising that we are on one. The signs are rarely visible, yet somehow we are expected to know the rules, follow the flow and adapt ourselves accordingly. I have accumulated a fair few points on my business licence over the years, simply for being true to my quiet nature, and I suspect I am not alone. The big dawning for me was recognising that constant adaptation without reciprocity is not a particularly healthy two way street. So perhaps it is time we stopped blindly complying with the expected norm and started asking which streets in our lives need making two way.

| Ep 336 The Identities We Weave | 06 Aug 2026 | 00:11:39 | |
I have worn more labels than I care to admit, some earned, many borrowed, and a fair few accepted far too readily. Looking back, I can see they only became powerful because I wove their meaning into the fabric of who I believed myself to be. That quiet habit can keep we introverts living inside identities that expired years ago. This episode explores why letting go is rarely about denying the past and much more about making room for the person you have already become. After all, there is little sense squeezing into a version of yourself that no longer fits.

| Ep 335 Possibilities Know No Bounds | 30 Jul 2026 | 00:12:11 | |
Last week I asked whether we had written ourselves off. This week I want to take that conversation one step further because I wonder how often we have quietly allowed other people's words to shrink what we believe is possible. We introverts are often encouraged to be realistic long before we are encouraged to be expansive, and I am no longer convinced that realism deserves quite the pedestal we place it on. If one tiny word can diminish an idea, a dream or even our identity, perhaps it is time to choose our words far more carefully. Your possibilities may have limits, but I suspect the greatest ones are the boundaries you have accepted rather than the ones life has imposed. | Ep 334 Have You Written Yourself Off | 23 Jul 2026 | 00:12:39
A few struggling sweet peas reminded me how quickly we can decide something has reached the end of its usefulness. I was convinced mine had given their last flowers, yet with a little care they surprised me all over again. It made me wonder how often we do exactly the same thing with ourselves. We compare, we judge, we absorb labels that were never ours to begin with, and before long we start believing there is little point trying. In this episode I explore why difference deserves understanding rather than comparison, why we must stop handing our power to other people's opinions, and why now is exactly the time to refuse to write ourselves off.

| Ep 333 Facing Your Frustrations | 16 Jul 2026 | 00:16:13 | |
There was a time when frustration was something I quietly packed away because it felt easier than dealing with it. After all, many of us were brought up to be strong, be nice, keep the peace and certainly not inconvenience anyone with uncomfortable emotions. Yet I have come to realise that frustration is one of our valid feelings, and denying it rarely makes it disappear. In this episode I reflect on what frustration may really be trying to tell us, why we introverts often soften or dismiss it, and how learning to investigate it with honesty and sensitivity may just become the catalyst for something far more useful.

| Ep 332 Mind the Perception Gap | 09 Jul 2026 | 00:16:53 | |
Perception has a habit of masquerading as truth, particularly in the workplace where people make sense of us through remarkably little evidence. We introverts often leave gaps that others are only too happy to fill with their own assumptions, and that can quietly shape our reputation long before we enter the room. In this episode, I explore where perception becomes useful data rather than a personal attack, how Byron Katie's liberating questions can stop us disappearing down defensive rabbit holes, and why managing our impact is not about performance but about quiet leadership. Perhaps the real work is not convincing everyone who we are. Perhaps it is becoming clearer about what is genuinely our business.

| Ep 331 Why is Trust so Difficult? | 02 Jul 2026 | 00:13:43 | |
After talking about respect, I realised trust deserved a conversation of its own because without it, very little flourishes for long. I explore why we introverts may unintentionally give the impression that we do not trust others, even when that is far from the truth, and why trust deserves more thoughtful attention than it often receives. Instead of treating trust as something we either have or do not have, I invite you to consider it as a living assessment that changes with experience. You may discover that trusting someone does not require handing them everything, only recognising what they have genuinely earned.

| Ep 330 The Introvert's Route to Respect | 25 Jun 2026 | 00:11:49 | |
Many of us were taught that being good meant being compliant, agreeable, and easy to manage. The trouble is those same lessons can quietly erode our self-respect in adulthood. In this episode, I unpack why respect begins with how we treat ourselves, especially when workplace bias leaves us feeling vulnerable for simply being who we are. We explore self-advocacy, boundaries, values, and the courage to stop relying on external validation. Because when we learn to honour our own worth, respecting others becomes less transactional and far more human.

| Ep 329 Vulnerability hangover? What will people think! | 18 Jun 2026 | 00:13:06 | |
We introverts often wear our independence like a badge of honour, convincing ourselves that figuring everything out alone is somehow noble. Yet beneath the resourcefulness can sit something far less comfortable: a fear of what happens after we ask for help, share honestly, or allow ourselves to be seen. In this episode, I explore the vulnerability hangover that can follow moments of openness, along with the stories we tell ourselves about weakness, credibility and judgement. I share a very recent experience that left me replaying every detail and questioning everything. The real question is not whether vulnerability is risky. It is whether keeping everything bottled up is costing us far more than we realise.

What happens when you can feel the passion coursing through your veins but the heartbeat of your direction drops to a murmur? That is the question I have been wrestling with recently. In this episode, I chose to be quietly gutsy and share a deeply personal reflection on how drift can quietly ebb into our lives whilst disguising itself as diligence, responsibility and even productivity. We explore the tension between drive and direction, the role of perfectionism, and why sustainable excellence feels far more liberating than chasing the illusive perfection. | Ep 326 Who and What Are You Leading? | 28 May 2026 | 00:12:46
We introverts have often been conditioned to underestimate our leadership potential by people who understand very little about inclusion, equity, or quiet capability. Frankly, there is enough poor leadership advice floating around to sink the Titanic several times over. In this episode, I explore why effective leadership has far less to do with noise and status, and far more to do with emotional intelligence, integrity, self-awareness, and intention. We do not need to become extraverts to lead well. But we do need to earn the right to lead by understanding ourselves first, caring properly about people, and creating the kind of trust where very little becomes undiscussable.

| Ep 325 Introverted Leaders are not Passive | 21 May 2026 | 00:15:03 | |
Somewhere along the line, leadership became confused with theatrics. The loudest voice wins. The quickest answer dominates. The person craving the spotlight gets handed the microphone. Frankly, look where that has got us. In this episode, I make the case for a different kind of leadership. One rooted in calm presence, thoughtful action and genuine care for people. We introverts do not need to extravert ourselves into exhaustion to lead effectively. But we may need to stop waiting to be invited and start demonstrating what authentic leadership actually looks like.

| Ep 324 Is Silence Your Safe Option | 14 May 2026 | 00:11:25 | |
I used to believe silence gave me the air of sensibility, helping me to appear professional which would keep me safe. In reality, much of it was old conditioning dressed up as maturity. We introverts are often rewarded for staying quiet long before we ever understand the cost of it. In this episode, I unpack why silence became a survival strategy, why trite advice like speak up rarely works, and how we can begin unlearning habits that no longer serve us. This is not about competing with louder people or forcing ourselves to perform confidence. It is about reclaiming the right to contribute freely, wisely and unapologetically.

| Ep 323 Authority is Evidenced in Moments (not Titles) | 07 May 2026 | 00:13:54 | |
One of the unique things about we introverts is that we prefer to contribute only when we have something of value to add. I have little desire to change this, but we need to acknowledge that it may impact how our authority (or lack of it) is perceived. Expertise that is not visible or appropriately expressed has little value, and invisible expertise serves no one. When you choose not to share what you know, especially when it matters, you are not being modest, you are withholding value. Authority is not about status or seniority, it is about responsibility in the moment. So the real challenge is this; when will you feel able to stop holding back and start evidencing what you already know?

| Ep 322 Quiet Does Not Mean Silent | 30 Apr 2026 | 00:14:12 | |
If you have ever held back thinking silence was the right or polite choice, this episode may challenge that assumption. I explore the difference between interrupting and contributing with intention, and why that distinction matters more than we admit. We introverts have options that allow us to influence without noise, but only if we choose to use them. If you are ready to stop shrinking and start making meaningful impact, this conversation will give you something to reconsider.

| Ep 321 When Standards Remain Unspoken | 23 Apr 2026 | 00:14:15 | |
I spent years believing my standards were simply part of who I was, quietly upheld and best left unspoken. Yet what I uncovered was far less comfortable; many of them were shaped by a need for approval rather than genuine choice. We introverts can fall into the trap of assuming others will just know what good looks like, while we quietly measure them against invisible expectations. That is not fairness, but misalignment waiting to happen. In this episode, I challenge the idea that staying low maintenance is helpful, and ask you to consider what your silence might actually be costing you and others. Because when we explain our standards with clarity and conviction, we create the conditions for trust, respect, and far better outcomes.

| Ep 320 Will You Ever Feel Ready? | 16 Apr 2026 | 00:11:12 | |
I want to start with a question that has quietly shaped more of my decisions than I care to admit. How often have you held back, convincing yourself you are not quite ready? I know that pattern well. The waiting, the overthinking, the quiet erosion of momentum. What landed for me was uncomfortable. I was not waiting for readiness, I was protecting my ego. So I have reframed it. Life is no longer one big experiment where everything rides on getting it right. It is a series of small experiments where action, learning and humility build real credibility. We introverts do not need perfect conditions to begin. We need the courage to start before we feel ready. Because honestly, are we ever really ready

| Ep 319 Quiet Authority of Inclusive Decisions | 09 Apr 2026 | 00:11:06 | |
Making better decisions is crucial for us all and we introverts are well placed - more so than we give ourselves credit for. Quiet authority is not passive. It is deliberate, observant, and grounded in understanding people beyond surface level. Inclusive decision making is not about having to involve everyone, it is about considering everyone. That distinction changes everything. It asks more of us as leaders, not less. It asks us to listen properly, to notice what is unsaid, and to care enough to act on it. The real question is whether we are willing to practise this consistently, even when pressure tempts us back to convenience.

| Ep 318 Dealing With Disappointment | 02 Apr 2026 | 00:13:29 | |
We introverts often carry disappointment as if it proves something about us. I do not believe it does. In this episode I unpack how that belief forms and how it quietly shapes our choices. There is a cycle many of us enter without noticing, where we brace, contract and then confirm our own fears. The real question is not how to avoid disappointment, but how do we stop organising our lives around it. When we loosen that grip, an important shift takes place - we return to choice, to presence, and to a far more grounded way of being.

| Ep 317 An Introvert's Guide to Change | 26 Mar 2026 | 00:17:47 | |
Change does not ask for our permission, yet it quietly tests our sense of self. We introverts can find ourselves pulled between staying true and being seen, especially when the environment becomes uncertain.
In this episode I walk through the questions that stop us from reacting blindly and instead bring us back to deliberate choice. Because visibility is not about performance, it is about deciding what we stand for when it counts. Too often we treat obstacles as final when they are simply uncomfortable, and that misjudgment costs us more than the change itself.
What matters is not whether change is happening to us or by us, but whether we respond with clarity or retreat by habit. So the real question is not about change at all, it is whether we step forward or step back because that decides if we are shaping our presence, or quietly disappearing from it.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 🔑 Clarity over reaction 🔑 Identity under pressure 🔑 Support is not optional 🔑 Change reveals true agency 🔑 Visibility with intention matters 🔑 Non negotiables protect identity

| Ep 316 When Uncertainty Shakes Capability | 19 Mar 2026 | 00:11:43 | |
We introverts can feel deeply unsettled when certainty disappears, especially when we know how important preparation is for us. Yet uncertainty does not strip away our capability, it simply removes the comfort of knowing what comes next. So what if capability is not about certainty at all. What if it is about how we respond when there are gaps, unknowns, and unanswered questions. In this episode I explore how our natural strengths can support us when prediction fails, and why the real shift is not in the situation, but in how we interpret our ability within it. Uncertainty is not asking you to retreat. It is asking you to engage differently.

| Ep 315 She's Got No Personality | 12 Mar 2026 | 00:17:04 | |
A throwaway comment can reveal more about workplace norms than the person chucking it around ever realises. Recently I heard one that made me pause. It sparked a line of questioning about personality, perception and the curious ways quieter people are sometimes judged. We introverts are familiar with the subtle pressure to appear a certain way in professional spaces. Yet I can't help but wonder where the issue really lies. In this episode I explore that tension and invite us to consider what we truly believe about personality and contribution.

| Ep 314 I am NOT Your Patsy | 05 Mar 2026 | 00:10:23 | |
Right now many people are feeling battered by decisions made by those in power while the rest of us are expected to simply absorb the consequences. For thoughtful introverts this can create deep stress, clouded thinking, and a painful sense of disempowerment meaning we struggle to know where to place our energy. In this episode I challenge that narrative. Drawing on Viktor Frankl's idea of inner freedom, I explore how we reclaim our agency by choosing our response, our attitude, and our actions. We may not control global events or organisational decisions, but we always retain authority over who we choose to be. When we act with courage, compassion, and quiet resolve, we refuse to be anyone's patsy.

| Ep 313 Introvert Resilience vs Resigned Compliance | 26 Feb 2026 | 00:17:29 | |
Have you ever been praised for being steady and dependable while quietly drowning under impossible demands? We introverts are often labelled resilient because we do not complain, yet our calm focus is misread as limitless capacity. In this episode I unpack how resilience has been misunderstood and even weaponised, and why being treated like stretch material is not strength. True resilience is flexibility in thought, feeling and behaviour so that we emerge wiser and more able, not unchanged and suppressed. I explore where misinterpretation happens, what it costs us and organisations, and how we can build sustainable resilience without abandoning ourselves. Time to stop confusing compliance with courage and start honouring our humanity.

| Ep 312 Maintenance - Erasure or Power | 19 Feb 2026 | 00:12:15 | |
For the first time in over 300 episodes, I bring you a conundrum rather than a conclusion. A single phrase triggered me far more than I expected and it exposed how quickly this introvert can slip back into being easy, agreeable, and compliant without noticing. Low maintenance. Compliment or quiet erasure? This episode explores the meaning we make in real time, how our history filters our reactions, and what happens when guilt and shame slide from behaviour into identity. It is about resilience and resourcefulness, yes, but it is also about self-leadership and the courage to examine our own emotional charge. Same words. Same person. Different meaning. | Ep 311 Introvert Authority Through Listening | 12 Feb 2026 | 00:14:41
This episode is a direct response to the current culture of haste that keeps asking we introverts to hurry up, speak up, and toughen up. I explore how being hustled strips us of one of our most powerful strengths, listening. It is neither quiet compliance, nor polite nodding, but intentional listening that builds trust and authority. We introverts often have the capacity to listen, but capacity alone is not the skill. Listening is active, demanding, and deeply relational, especially in professional spaces that reward noise over nuance. In this episode, I challenge the idea that listening is soft, passive, or optional. If we want to flourish without pretending to be extroverts, listening is not where we retreat, it is where we lead.

| Ep 310 How Hustling Breaks Introverts | 05 Feb 2026 | 00:11:46 | |
Hustle culture rewards speed, noise and constant output, then acts surprised when we introverts burn out. In this episode, I challenge the assumption that faster means better and louder means capable. I unpack how hustle destabilises our thinking and why it robs us of the strengths we are known for. This is not about avoiding hard work but about recognising when urgency becomes erosion. I talk openly about comparison, overwhelm and the subtle pressure to perform extroversion. If you have ever felt rushed into decisions, criticised for your pace or exhausted by constant demand, this conversation will help you see what is really happening and how to respond with intention.

This episode began with a phrase that refused to be ignored and it led me to something much closer to my heart and my way of being. This is not about breaking the sound barrier but about breaking my sound barrier and inviting we introverts to examine our own. I reflect on how people culture and situations silence us and how we can be complicit by silencing ourselves. I share a moment where staying quiet would have been easier but speaking out felt like a responsibility. I have said for years that we are all a work in progress, yet over the break I realised I had not stopped to ask how that really lands with you. In this episode I unpack a very real dilemma about the tension I feel holding credibility, and expertise whilst still learning. I share why I resist the label of expert, why authority feels different, and how that distinction has shifted my thinking in a profound way. This is not about pretending we know it all or polishing our certainty until it shines. It is about learning openly, staying relevant, and trusting that credibility grows through honesty rather than performance. If you have ever wondered whether admitting you are still learning weakens your position, this conversation is for you. We introverts do not need to be louder or shinier to be trusted, just real, useful, and human. Key points

| Ep 307 Intentions Built on WHY | 15 Jan 2026 | 00:11:23 | |
If goal setting leaves you cold, you are in the right place. In this episode I challenge the idea that louder, pushier goals create better outcomes. For we introverts flourishing begins with intention built on why, not on external measures or pressure. I talk about inner compass, motivating beliefs, and the importance of reviewing where you are in this chapter of life. When intentions align with who you really are and who you are becoming, clarity replaces overwhelm and confidence becomes quieter but stronger. This is an invitation to stop pushing and start allowing so your thoughts behaviours and decisions are guided by what genuinely matters to you.

We introverts are wired for depth, yet the world keeps rewarding shallow immediacy. Short-Term-ism has slipped into our calendars, inboxes and expectations, leaving us braced, reactive and exhausted. I see it in my clients and I have felt it myself. When urgency takes over, perspective is lost and meaningful thinking is squeezed out. Through this episode, I am here to challenge the idea that long-term thinking is a luxury we cannot afford. To the contrary, it is essential. Here we are at the start of a new year and in the lead up, so many of we introverts have felt end of termish, end of yearish and for some end of jobish. This episode explores why so many thoughtful employees reach the point where quitting feels like the only sane option. It is rarely about money and it is certainly not about a lack of resilience. It is about purpose, agency and leadership. It is about toxic pace, unclear expectations, noisy busyness and a systemic bias that rewards loudness over depth. This episode lands on December twenty fifth for a reason. When the world is loud and crowded we introverts often feel surrounded by it as though it's out there rather than in here.
