Jon & Tim welcome fellow Film Bar Monday's friend, Anthony Caban to discuss his films including The Last Bounty, his latest in a series of what he calls "amateur films". As a young director and actor, Anthony knows that his films aren't perfect, and he plans for criticism and improvement on future film escapades. He knows that this is just the beginning of a long and storied career in filmmaking ahead of him, and we rwespect him for his willingness to get down to brass tax and talk about how to improve his work. We recommend to all filmmakers, no matter how experienced they are, to be as open and honest as Anthony is in the interest of improving their craft and making the industry of film and movies stronger for it. Speaking of the industry- we also discuss Hollywood, the streaming services, Scorsese's The Irishman, and we officially announce Anthony as one of our lead actors in "Iggy and Alma", our first Film Bar Mondays associated production.

Jon & Tim have our dear friend, Greg Cheramie over to discuss his accidental brush-in with his true love, filmmaking. And we officially announce the film the three of us are working on, "Iggy & Alma". We lay out our restrictions, our plans, and the methodology by which we plan on shooting this feature. In this episode, Jon and Tim meet up for an impromptu recording at The Wooden Rooster where we discuss how we can make films in the future. We discuss a film that can be found on YouTube that inspires us to make better goals; "Relics", a black & white shot in Tokyo and directed by Greg Bakker, a South African filmmaker. We continue to talk about making better goals so that we can ensure our future as filmmakers. This isn't easy for us and we know it's not easy for most filmmakers. So, we wanted to include some helpful advice in this episode. Please listen to the end where we reveal the result of our attempts to make better goals. In this episode, Jon meets with Joshua Ingle (without Tim this time) down in Bradenton. We discuss Josh's two feature film outings on the advent of Sanctuary finally being released on Amazon. Amazingly, it has taken ten years to get Sanctuary released and 15 Minutes of Faye still remains unreleased to this day. What are some of the reasons that both of these ten-year-gestation films were so difficult to produce? What are some of the reasons that independent films can be so difficult to produce? We jump into this lively discussion to answer these questions and more with the kind and generous writer of sci-fi fiction, Joshua Ingle! In this special Film Bar Review episode Tim & Jon meet with a legend in the stunt business for over sixty years- Kim Kahana. he has done practically everything you can do with stunts. He runs Kahana Stunt School in Groveland, FL, and he has worked with so many major names in the film biz its hard to list them. John Wayne, Charles Bronson, Charlton Heston, Burt Reynolds, Wesley Snipes, Paul Newman, and so many more. Today we get to have an intimate conversation with him about his history, his philosophy, and what he has planned for the future in the Florida film business! In the future we will talk more about our future plans, but this episode only chronicles our past successes and failures in our short films. We all recognize that we need to make more films to get better, and we are nearing the place for getting into more of our current work on this podcast, including the stuff that currently keeps us up at night.

Our first episode of The Film Bar Review began with a lengthy foray into two local short films (hailing from the Tampa Bay area in Florida) "Van", by Domonic Smith, and "Salvage" by Scott Sullivan. Other films such as The Good Shepherd, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Spy Who Came in From The Cold, Wonder Woman 1984, Mad Max: Fury Road, Blade Runner, & Herbert Has A Secret were briefly mentioned. Then we segway into what got us here, making this podcast, and the Film Bar Mondays film industry networking ethos. It was longer than we expected, one of our mics would go bad (static could be detected), and we took our merry time about discussing these films far more than we thought we would. That said, it is something we are already planning that we will continue for the coming year. We are planning an episode per month, and we will be having guest filmmakers visiting us more in future episodes, not just us two. Thanks so much for listening, and we plan to get even more into the nuts and bolts of filmmaking here, promoting local filmmakers, film news, and our own projects.
