In Episode 7, Josh Boho considers  a flood of global theories, from ancient rituals in northern Europe to modern conspiracies about “The Hum,” a global low-frequency sound tied to disappearances across continents. A dream-obsessed professor, a grieving brother, goblins, the Rapture… the dots are sprawling. But some start to connect.

We also hear again from Charlie Ren, the lone survivor of the Shenandoah Incident, whose long-overdue confession reveals the one truth this story keeps hiding: no one got out unscathed.

On May 10th, Block Island stopped sleeping.

So goes a recovered message from Vanessa Chalkstone; sent while drifting alone at sea near Block Island, in a kayak, after her family boarded a mysterious, frozen ferry. That ferry was the Shenandoah.

In Episode 8, the late Mayor Burke's final act is revealed. Vanessa’s voice logs might be the most damning evidence yet. Vanessa may have survived, but she’s now forever changed. And there is a sound in the distance. A low, undying Hum.

Whatever happened on the Shenandoah didn’t stay on the Shenandoah.
