Misty has written for publications including Broadview, Mindful.org, and Today's Parent, and is an advocate for better mental health care. She lives in Ottawa with her family and her mischievous pug, Winnie.

Dr. Vissing is experienced as Adjunct faculty at several graduate institutions, has taught Child and Adolescent Development, Treatment of Children and Adolescents, Psychodynamic Theories, and Maternal Mental Health. As Training Faculty for Maternal Mental Health NOW, Dr. Vissing also provides trainings and consultations for providers.

They use their backgrounds - Certified Lactation Counselor (Candy), trained postpartum doula (Tiffany) and new parent educators (both of them) to support new and expecting families of all kinds and they learn how to make the right choices for their unique family. We believe everyone needs a "sister" by their side to offer evidence-based information, non-judgmental and inclusive support as they learn how to parent. Our services are offered virtually, and we support clients around the world. Candy also consults with political campaigns, candidates and activists about how to use communication tools - especially social media - to create social change.
Candy and Erin discuss how to get involved in political activism, especially as busy moms.

Her third novel, THE GUILT PILL, will be released in early 2025 and explores motherhood, guilt, and ambition.

She combines her two Master's Degrees in Health and Family communication, lactation knowledge, and personal nursing experience to focus on the parent-toddler nursing relationship. Through online courses and consults she helps extended breastfeeding parents set breastfeeding boundaries and wean gently so they can keep the bond without the burnout.

Shannon Watts, is the founder of Moms Demand Action, the nation’s largest grassroots group fighting against gun violence. She was named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, a Forbes 50 over 50 Changemaker, and a Glamour Woman of the Year. Prior to founding Moms Demand Action, Watts – a mother of five – was a communications executive at public relations firms and Fortune 100 companies. She is an active board member of Emerge America, one of the nation’s leading organizations for recruiting and training women to run for office. Her book, Fight Like a Mother: How a Grassroots Movement Took on the Gun Lobby and Why Women Will Change the World, was released in May of 2019.
