Chaddyshack.  I could go on forever.  But I shan't.  As you can tell by the episode title, we have a lot to talk about!  Chad Pearson was the booking agent for Dogwood, and a bunch of our friends on Tooth and Nail Records back in the day.  He has started and worked at many record labels, non-profit organizations, and is now working for Rivals Group AND starting a new record label!! The dude is non-stop, and he seems to like it that way.  You'll hear all about his life and each of the steps along the way to get to present day.

In this episode, Mike refuses to admit that he eats Fritos!  But really, he doesn't.  Mike and I have known each other since the 1900's when both of our bands were just wee lads.  His band (Freeto Boat - look them up if you are adventurous!) metamorphosed to become Fighting Jacks, signed to Tooth and Nail records, and went on a tour or two with my band Dogwood.  I won't give away the whole interview, but he started cooking, went to culinary school, then worked at the kitchens of a pretty famous internet tech search powerhouse in Silicon Valley... 

. 

Mike is now playing in Ironside, and occasionally writes intricate dadcore songs for my project Saint Didacus.  The music I'm talking over on the intro is music he made with another project, super secret stuff shhh.  (Mike played on that linked St D track, but you can hear all the songs here.)

This week's episode is a two-fer!  Maybe even more than a two-fer, because you see, I spoke to Rob and Nat in the same room at the same time, they are twins, in more than one band at a time, and Rob is just way too humble about being an award winning book author and movie pilot writer... More on that in the show.  These two rad guys came out of West Virginia to settle into the East Nashville community, where they built a name for themselves as musicians in Blacklist Royals.  You can also hear another side of their musical talent via their goth-surf rock band The Bad Signs! THEY MADE A NEW EP "Doomsday Girl" coming out in April 2, 2021 on Paper and Plastick Records, which is a rad independent record label owned and operated by Vinnie from the band Less Than Jake, and you can also read more about Rob's work via his books: Die Young With Me and The Vinyl Underground.

Another episode, ON LOCATION!  I chatted with Mr. David Alan Holtze in his cool little venue The Boardroom -- which is adjacent to his boutique catering and event company Harvest Kitchen.  (Disclosure: this IS the spot where I'm the Executive Chef!)  We sipped on some cheap bourbon we "borrowed" from the pantry. All the while we talked about his life growing up in Illinois, and then his choice in going from the world of ad agencies into the wonderful world of Food Trucks!  You might hear his lovely pup Billie Jean in the background, as well as a couple of staff members rolling thru.
