@words_of_women is an Instagram community where Lauren shares the quotes and stories of famous women through history. Quotes so impactful that they will stop you mid-scroll and hit you straight in the gut.

In her book - The Book of Moods - Lauren forensically examines each of her moods and in doing so has created a compendium of almost every mood a woman might experience. All in the hope that her readers might feel less alone and less shame.

This is a really special conversation for me. I've long been a fan of Lauren and her writing.

HANNAH LEWIS on cultivating a life that feels good and true23 Mar 202501:10:16

Hannah is someone I admire a great deal. She radiates good energy, warmth and kindness and it comforts me to know that she exists in this world. One of my favourite things about Hannah is how she looks inward and does the work. She is self-aware without being overly guarded, curious without being intrusive, observant without being judgemental, and honest without ever being unkind.

Hannah is Australian and currently lives in Helsinki, Finland with her husband and two beautiful children. Her social media (@hannahisinhelsinki) offers heartwarming glimpses of how she navigates life in Finland from making friends, to adapting to the weather, to the nuances of the culture and the language. The snippets she shares provide real insight into life in Finland, and an understanding of why it is the happiest country in the world for the eighth year in a row!

In this episode, we discuss:

  • the importance of introspection
  • moving away from toxic productivity
  • the cultural narrative around friendships
  • Hannah’s passion for travel and adventure
  • how living in different countries shapes your perspective
  • setting boundaries in a respectful way
  • writing, books and creativity…and so much more.

If you enjoyed this episode, please follow the podcast, leave a rating & review. It makes such a difference, and means so much to me. Thank you for listening!

CASSIE MILLER on stepping into your light and living bravely 09 Mar 202501:01:15

Cassie Miller (neé Lalieu) is the founder of SheBelieve - a movement designed to empower women to realise the infinite possibilities of their lives and to live a life where nothing is left on the table.

As she shares this message, Cassie also shares her own story of hope and healing. You see Cassie has been diagnosed with metastatic neuroendocrine cancer, and she is sharing with the world all of the gifts, glimmers, truths and tribulations of her experience - as her mission to prove that she is curable unfolds.

This episode with Cassie will always be one of my most cherished episodes. I am honoured and, quite frankly, humbled that she trusted me to share this part of her story with the world. Her grace, wisdom and honesty on this episode is incredibly moving and there is a very high chance that it might change your life in the most beautiful way.

There are some episodes that are too vast to be summarised adequately into a short description box, with a neat breakdown of topics covered. They demand to be felt in their entirety. This is one of those episodes.

Thank you Cassie.

TIJANA TAMBURIC & FRANZI KLEIN on female storytelling and building their own castle 25 Jan 202501:12:19

Franzi and Tijana are the co-founders and forces behind Female Narratives - a creative agency that deploys over 100 women and non-binary freelancers to connect brands such as Bumble, AllBirds and The Gap (to name a few) to real stories.

But the work they do goes far beyond creating and producing projects and campaigns for brands. In curating a collective of female and non-binary talent, they've created a real community - one that they take every opportunity to nurture and empower. What Franzi and Tijana have created is a movement - one which seeks to move the needle for the next generation of creatives.

They are also two of the most charismatic women I've met. I left our conversation feeling nourished and emboldened. And I have since realised that I get that feeling after every interaction with them.

In this episode, we cover:

  • their formative experiences, including as models, that shaped them into the women and creative forces that they are today;
  • how and why they decided to create Female Narratives;
  • their passion for female storytelling;
  • being multi-faceted women;
  • building projects in public;
  • their definition of success and what it means to have enough;
  • ...and so much more!

If you enjoy this episode (which I hope you do!), please do follow the podcast, and leave a rating and a review. It makes a real difference. Thank you for listening!

Finally, Tijana has just launched a podcast called 'The Slow Down', centred around defining success for yourself in a 'growth at all costs' capitalist culture. Linked below - give it a listen!
