Karen Read Trial Day 8: Jen McCabe’s Testimony Under Scrutiny03 May 202500:55:14

Watch the full coverage of the live stream on The Emily D Baker YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/live/W1usvKtssDo

Day 8 of the Karen Read Retrial happened on May 2, 2025. The majority of the day revolved around the continued cross-examination of Jen McCabe by Alan Jackson. Her testimony is described as "incredibly difficult" and "evasive," with her struggling to answer direct questions. I break down what is and isn't a hostile witness since a lot of Law Nerds were wanting to know if it fits this situation.

Group text message from Matt McCabe said, "Tell them the guy never came in the house," is highlighted, and Jen McCabe explains that "the guy" refers to John O'Keefe and that the "them" are the news reporters.

McCabe is questioned about Google searches, particularly "hos long to die in cold," with discrepancies in her timeline and explanations. The 2:27 AM Google search time is also discussed, and McCabe claims she does not recall doing a search around that time.

Jen McCabe was also caught calling her sister, Nicole Albert, the homeowner at 34 Fairview Rd, at 5:07am, after speaking over the phone with John O'Keefe's niece. The call log shows that they spoke for 38 seconds but Jen denies speaking to her. Questions arise about why Jen McCabe did not go inside Brian Albert Sr's house (a first responder with CPR training) for help when John O'Keefe was found, instead making phone calls to her sister, Nicole Albert, after calling 911. Jackson even questioned why she didn't go in the house after finding a John O'Keefe on the lawn because her sister, Nicole, could have been in perils danger and wasn't answering the phone according to Jen. You must check out this episode to this to hear her explanations of this, butt dials, and all of the other discrepancies in her testimony.

The Re-Direct Examination, conducted by Special Prosecutor Brennan, focused on humanizing Jen McCabe and addressing claims of collusion among witnesses. In Re-Cross Examination where Alan Jackson brought up the issue of the suspended interview with federal agents.

Lastly, testimony of Hannah Knowles from the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory, regarding Karen Read's blood alcohol content (BAC), included the conversion from blood serum and retrograde extrapolation. Cross Examination of this witness will continue on Day 9.

Karen Read's True Last Words to John O'Keefe? The Jurors Viewed The Crime Scene | Case Brief02 May 202500:16:46

Watch the full coverage of the live stream on The Emily D Baker YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/live/UwnYctoUtyU

Day 4 of the Karen Read Retrial happened on April 25, 2025. I covered it on May 1st when court was not in session. The Jury went to view the property at 34 Fairview Rd where John O'Keefe was found dead. Special Prosecutor Hank wanted the jury to observe specific details at the scene, such as the Lexus, rear tail light, bumper height, flagpole, and fire hydrant. David Yannetti ended his instructions with, "you will do a proper investigation." Judge Cannone reread the Jury View instructions, reinforcing that jurors are only to observe and not conduct their own investigations.

Dr. Garrey Faller, Chief of Pathology at Good Samaritan, testified to the methods of testing blood alcohol levels. At Cross Examination, attorney Elizabeth Little made a key point that the Hospital at Good Samaritan is a medical lab, not a forensic lab, meaning the blood test was for treatment purposes, not forensic purposes. This might not matter to jury as much due the interview clips of Karen Read admitting to driving slower while intoxicated and that she had been adding shots to her drink because they were weak so she didn't have as many as the Commonwealth had accounted for.

Jason Becker, the Fire Paramedic, who arrived at the scene with Daniel Whitley to put Karen Read in a Section 12 Hold. Mr. Becker had a conversation with Karen Read about her "last word" or "last conversation" with John O'Keefe. The Prosecution was aiming for it to seem that it could be about a fight they had when she dropped him off at 34 Fairview Rd while the Defense was aiming for it to be that Karen read was concerned about the voicemails she left him that night. Jason Becker said that Karen read tried to show him her phone about missed called but he refused to go through her phone. Mr. Becker said he never heard Karen mention anything about voicemails.

Whether the jury believes that Karen Read was upset about her last words to John O'Keefe being a fight in the car, or her voicemails after she left him at 34 Fairview Rd, could impact acquittal of charges 1 and 3 which needs to prove intent. Remember, if there are two reasonable interpretations, the jury must pick the interpretation that leads to innocence.

The Karen Read Retrial is set to begin, with Opening Statements potentially starting on Tuesday, April 15th. Will the defense strategies include the "Bowden Defense"? Alan Jackson will do Opening Statements instead of David Yannetti. What happened to Karen Read's appeal to the higher court? Get ready for gavel-to-gavel coverage on the Emily D. Baker channel!

Diddy's legal team is trying to subpoena unaired footage from "The Fall of Diddy" documentary. I analyze the legal arguments, reporters privilege, and the potential impact on the case.

A marathon hearing was held for the Bryan Kohberger case, covering various motions. Key points include discovery issues (voluminous unorganized data), defense concerns about preparing for a death penalty case, and disputes over AT&T records. I discuss the court's responses and the ongoing legal battles.

The Kouri Richins trial is delayed indefinitely due to an interlocutory appeal regarding a change of venue motion. I go over the case's background, the "walk the dog" letter, and the judge's reasoning for denying the venue change. Comparisons are being drawn to the Bryan Kohberger and Karen Read cases.

Alex Murdaugh's Appeal on Federal Financial Crimes Was Denied04 Oct 202400:07:59

Alex Murdaugh was sentenced federally for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering. Murdaugh made a plea deal with the feds to plea guilty because he had already admitted to the crimes during the the state's murder trial.

The judge sentenced him to 40 years which was more than the prosecution recommended. The judge said they did this to send a message to deter attorneys who may want to steal from their clients.

Alex Murdaugh Appealed the sentencing but the government dismissed it because part of the plea was that he would not appeal the decisions that would be made. Murdaugh's murder case is still going through the appeal process for new trial due to Becky Hill's interference and his appeal on the murder conviction is still on hold. But as far as the financial crimes brought by the Feds, that case is now closed.

Karen Read's attorneys filed their Opening Briefs to the Supreme Judicial Court in Massachusetts. The prosecution's response is due by October 16th and then Read will have a chance to reply by October 25th. Oral Arguments will most likely be at the end of November 2024 to hopefully get a decision by December 2024. There is a high likelihood that the defense will ask for the retrial to be scheduled further out.

The Baby Reindeer Civil Lawsuit has a trial date set for May 2025. Netflix has filed a request for Dismissal and Anti-SLAPP. Netflix provided a Declaration from Richard Gadd many exhibits proving  Fiona Harvey sent Richard Gadd harassing emails, text messages, voice mails, and also accusations of stalking a Member of Parliament's wife. These exhibits show that Harvey did do the things detailed in the mini-series but was not a "beat-by-beat" recount of what happened. The Judge denied the Anti-SLAPP motion but granted in part the motion to dismiss, reducing some of the causes of action, leaving only the Defamation and Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress. The line in the Netflix show “this is a true story” ended up being quite persuasive to the Judge.

Quick Bits: Diddy’s Roommate. Kohberger has a new Judge. Mr. Beast gets sued again.30 Sep 202400:23:44

MrBeast's Beast Games and Amazon Prime have a class action lawsuit filed against them in California. This is interesting because the production happened in Nevada but the plaintiffs live in California. We'll see if jurisdiction will be granted in this case. Let me know if you want a deep dive into these claims.

Diddy's attorney did an interview with TMZ and claimed that Costco had a sale on baby oil which is why he stocked up. Costco put out a statement clarifying that none of the US stores carry baby oil. It is also reported that Diddy's new roommate is Sam Bankman-Fried while he is in the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Bryan Kohberger had his first hearing with the new judge and venue. It was more of a status conference and the trial might get pushed to September 2025. Judge Steven Hippler made it clear that he wasn't happy to be there and will work faster than they are used to.

Hannah Gutierrez was in court to see if she could get her case dismissed or recieve a new trial. If Gutierrez is granted a new trial she will immediately be released from custody and the defense will request that a new special prosecutor will be assigned to the case. The judge listened to the defense and the prosecution and took it all under submission and promised to make a ruling in a week.

The 11th Circuit came back after oral arguments on the Todd and Julie Chrisley's Appeal and upheld the trial court's actions. They did however send Julie's case back to resentencing and her attorney argued that she should get five years instead of seven. The judge kept it at seven years stating that she already has below the federal minimum. Unfortunately, that puts her back to the same place.

Bryan Kohberger New Judge & Venue Hearing Summary28 Sep 202400:07:38

Bryan Kohberger's hearing on September 26th, 2024 was a Status Conference with the new judge.

Judge Steven Hippler made it clear that he wasn't happy to be there and will work faster than they are used to. He also made sure he was aware of how the attorney's conducted themselves with the last judge and he wasn't going to stand for it in his courtroom.

The Judge wants the trial to begin in June 2025 but the Defense wants it to begin in September 2025. The judge took it under submission and will make a decision some time in the future.

Kouri Richins Case: Trial Paused Until...? Judge DISPLEASED with the Media12 Apr 202500:14:25

Kouri Richin had a Hearing on April 7th, 2025 to address Change of Venue Motion right before the trial began. There have been attempts to expand the jury pool, which were denied but the site judge. The Defense and the Prosecution tried to make comparisons of this case to Karen Read and Bryan Kohbeger cases but the judge shut down those types of connections.

A Motion to Stay the Trial has been granted due to an Interlocutory Appeal on the Venue issue, causing significant delays. We don't know when the trial will begin, it can take months or years but the judge made it clear the Richins will stay in custody while the wait happens.

Judge Mrazik has expressed displeasure with the media coverage, calling it incomplete and speculative. He feels the coverage is an indictment on media outlets and culture.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arraigned in the Southern District of New York today on a three-count indictment. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life. After a detention hearing that lasted more than two hours, he was held without bail until trial.

The Defense is appearing before the assigned Judge on September 18th, 2024, before the assigned District Judge. It’s unlikely he will be released based on the charges he is facing, the allegations, and the concerns over his power, money, and influence being used to contact or influence victims and witnesses.

Some of what I learned in court today makes me wonder how this went on for so long and was known about by so many without any consequences. But this case has a long way to go before trial, and I will be interested to see what else comes out.

Justin Timberlake pleaded guilty to a traffic infraction driving while ability impaired to resolve his DWI case in the Hamptons.  The public safety announcement in front of the Sag Harbor Police Department was part of the plea deal that knocked down the misdemeanor charge he was facing to a non-criminal traffic violation.

Karen Read filed an appeal to motion to dismiss counts one and three to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. The defense argues that the jury acquitted Karen of charges one and three even though they didn't mark it on the jury forms. They relitigate that retrying her for counts one and three violates double jeopardy. They are asking for oral arguments.

On Thursday, September 12th, 2024, Harvey Weinstein was indicted again in New York. According to Law360 reporting, the indictment will remain sealed until Weinstein is arraigned, which has yet to happen due to his deteriorating health. According to Weinstein’s representative he was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, for emergency open heart surgery.

In his status conference in Illinois, Girardi wasn't present and prosecutors asked to continue to the pre-trial conferences until December 18th, 2024. They indicated that they may drop the charges against Girardi after his sentencing on December 6th, 2024 in Los Angeles.

The Bryan Kohberger trial moves to Ada County's Fourth District located in Boise and gets appointed a new judge, Judge Steven Hippler. This means that trial dates and other deadlines are now subject to change.

In the infamous viral clip, Redden is accused of leaping over the bench and attacking a Las Vegas Judge Holthus. He was charged with Attempted Murder of a victim 60 years of age or older. On the second day, after hearing the testimony of Judge Holthus and her law clerk, Redden pleaded Guilty but Mentally Ill. He has a sentencing Hearing on November 7th.

On Friday, September 6th, Karen Read was interviewed on ABC's 20/20 show. I share my initial thoughts on the show and what this could mean for the upcoming retrial in 2025. I will go more in depth in this week's podcast episode.

The Commonwealth filed motions to block defense attorneys from getting the full extraction of Trooper Proctor's work phone. His personal cell phone was turned over, but now they are trying to get into his work phone. I will go more in depth about that on Wednesday's podcast episode as well.

For last week's podcast, I went over the arrest of former Police Officer, Matthew Farwell, for the murder of Sandra Birchmore and the Feds charging him with Killing a witness or victim. I answered some of the questions you had in the comment section of the video and what could come next.

Governor Healey of MA brought in Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Noble from New Jersey as the new Head of State Police. Not only is it good news to appoint someone from outside the state, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up under a consent decree.

Kari Morrisey filed a fifty-two page motion to reconsider Alec Baldwin's dismissal with prejudice on a request to exceed the page limit. The Judge denied the state's motion for extension of page limits and cited case law that talks about deterring frivolous filings. Kari Morrissey can technically refile this motion again but it has to be within the 10 page limit.

On February 4th 2021, a pregnant Sandra Birchmore was found deceased in her Canton, Massachusetts apartment. The case was initially ruled a suicide however an internal affairs investigation was opened and led to the resignation of Matthew Farwell, his twin William Farwell and Deputy Chief Richard Devine, all prior to them being interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

On June 18th, 2024 a pathologist hired by Birchmore’s family determined that Sandra Birchmore died by homicide, not suicide. The pathologist was hired in relation to the family's wrongful death action against the department and the officers who had resigned.

On August 27th, 2024, former police officer, Matthew Farwell, was arrested for the murder of Sandra Birchmore and charged with killing a witness or victim. Farwell has a detention hearing set for September 12th, 2024 at 2pm ET and a Status Conference Hearing on October 17th, 2024.

The latest headlines in the Matthew Perry case state that the doctor taking a plea in the case is a Dr. Chavez, not Dr ‘P’.  This is not new to the Law Nerds because as I broke down in The Emily Show podcast, Dr. Chavez is one of the three defendants who had already taken a plea deal. He made his first court appearance on August 30th and was allowed to remain out of custody on a $50K bond and may not practice medicine as a condition of his release.

The ex-husband of Kyle Richards, Mauricio Umansky, is being sued over Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans taken during the COVID pandemic. The US is suing on behalf of Relator LLC., claiming the loan was taken under false pretenses as the company was not finanically struggling during that time and a jury trial is being requested.

Kouri Richins had a preliminary hearing last week that lasted two days. The judge determined that there is probable cause to move forward with a jury trial. Richins pled not guilty and her trial is scheduled for May of 2025.

Bryan Kohberger had a change of venue hearing last week, where the defense brought in their witnesses to explain the results of the surveys. The defense and prosecution had an opportunity to make their arguments to the Judge, and he took them into submission and will make a written ruling some time in the future.

Karen Read, CF McCarthy’s & The Waterfall Bar & Grill were sued for the wrongful death of John O’Keefe. The lawsuit was filed by John’s brother Paul O’Keefe, his father John O’Keefe II and his mother Margaret O’Keefe, as well as additionally on behalf of his niece. I will monitor this civil lawsuit closely and provide updates in the future.

Kouri Richins Preliminary Hearing Summary29 Aug 202400:14:53

Day 1 Live Stream: https://www.youtube.com/live/dCpQt7jwelE

Day 2 Live Stream: https://www.youtube.com/live/593-35a2JJo

Kouri Richins is accused of murder for the death of her husband Eric Richins. She was arrested over a year after his death and after she wrote a children's book about grief.

Her communications from jail, the 'walk the dog letter', and her Google searches, 'luxury prisons for rich people,' are just a part of what has kept this case in the headlines.

A preliminary hearing is a process to determine if there is enough evidence to hold someone over for trial. There is no jury present and the judge is the finder of fact.

The family of John O'Keefe filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Karen Read along with CF McCarthy's and The Waterfall Bar & Grill. This civil lawsuit is separate from the new murder trial she will be facing in January 2025.

The O'Keefe's blame the bars for overserving Karen Read and causing her to make reckless decisions that lead to John's death.

The 80-year-old disgraced lawyer, Tom Girardi, was convicted on all counts and is facing 80 years in federal prison. His sentencing will be in December 2024.

I will also cover the change of venue hearing for Bryan Kohberger on Thursday, August 29th.

Bryan Kohberger Hearing: AT&T Records & Fiery Accusations From Defense - Judge Is Not Having It!11 Apr 202500:10:22

Bryan Kohberger had a hearing on April 9th, 2025 to go over Motions in Limine. What was first thought to be a 2 day affair, was completed in 1 day because Judge Hippler runs a tight ship! The Defense and Prosecution were able to go over 25 Motions. Some were decided on the stand, others were taken under advisement. The most intense part of the hearing focused on a dispute over AT&T records.

The Defense Attorney, Anne Taylor, made accusations about the Prosecution withholding evidence, leading to a strong rebuke from the judge. Judge Hipper reminded Anne Taylor that she is an "Officer of the Court" and that when he took on this case he doesn't want theatrics or accusations that aren't supported evidence about supposed bad conducts.

He said that he respects all of the attorneys and the types of accusations made can get a person disbarred! When Rulings are posted in writing, I will break them down in an upcoming Monday - The Emily Show podcast episode.

Disney is trying to have a widower's wrongful death lawsuit dismissed and sent to arbitration. Disney stated that the couple had signed up for a Disney+ trial in the past and the terms of service state that the consumer’s right to a jury trial in any dispute would forever be barred. Disney lawyers also claim there is an arbitration clause when you get a Disney park ticket as well.

In the Alex Murdaugh case, the Supreme Court granted a direct hearing of his appeal about his motion for a New Trial, which Justice Toal had previously denied. They will also take up if South Carolina will keep the standard that requires a defendant to show that the jurors were impacted and in any way prejudiced.

The Tom Girardi trial should end this week and jurors might make a decision depending on when they get the case goes to deliberation.

The LA Innocence Project took on the Scott Peterson Case this year. DNA testing on a piece of duct tape found on Laci was granted. We are waiting for the results and if something comes out of that, then a bid for a new trial can be made.

U.S. Gymnast, Jordan Chiles, was stripped of her floor exercise bronze medal in the 2024 Olympics. I break down the law behind the Court of Arbitration for Sport's ruling and some things that don't add up.

I also review the statements made by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), USA Gymnastics, the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee, and the International Olympic Committee.

The Young Thug RICO trial has resumed with Kenneth Copeland's testimony. He told prosecutors under cross-examination that he lied to the detectives so that he would not be held in custody. The court denied the defense's motions to dismiss so the defense attorneys have taken a writ.

As of Monday, August 12th, Tom Girardi was on day four of his trial. I went over the witness covered right before I began filming the podcast. The prosecutors are already done with half of the witnesses on their list, so this should be a fast trial.

On Friday, August 9th, Karen Read had a hearing for the oral arguments toward the motion to dismiss. The Defense is asking the court to reach out to all 12 jurors to know if they were unanimous on counts 1 and 3. The Prosecution has countered that doing so would be inquiring into the jurors’ deliberative process. The Judge took all arguments under advisement and will make a written ruling.

On Thursday, August 8th, Kouri Richins had a hearing on the motion to disqualify the prosecution. The court denied that motion and there will be a preliminary hearing in the last week of August which I will be covering on The Emily D Baker YouTube channel.

The Judge in the Alec Baldwin Rust case filed a written motion detailing the dismissal. Kari Morrisey, the prosecutor in the Hannah Gutierrez case, filed a snarky opposition to having a new trial and disagreed with the judge’s decision to dismiss the Alec Baldwin trial.

The court has denied the defense’s motions to recuse the prosecutors in the Young Thug case. The defense intends to appeal the decision. The trial resumes on August 12th, and the new judge will ask the jury if they can strike Kenneth Copeland’s testimony. If that can not happen, the judge will declare a mistrial and seek a new jury.

Tom Girardi’s trial is now underway. The strategy is to shift the blame for the client’s stolen money to the CFO, Chris Kamon.

Filed in October 2020, the years-long litigation between Tati Westbrook, Halo Beauty, and her former business partner is finally over. On July 31st, 2024, a stipulated order to dismiss with prejudice was filed. On August 1st, 2024, Tati posted on YouTube that the case had settled, that she was stepping away from Halo Beauty, that she retains the rights to her name, and that she would be looking at other cosmetics and perfume products going forward.

The Court of Appeals has granted Hannah Gutierrez's request to have the defense's motions, including one for a new trial, reviewed by the lower trial courts. The defense asked for an immediate release while the litigation is ongoing.

In a rather snarky response, Kari Morrissey argued that the motion for immediate release is premature and should not be addressed until the motion for a new trial is decided. Morrissey also asserted that the defense’s case was not significantly affected by any missing elements, despite the absence of an expert report, and thus does not warrant a new trial.

Hayley Paige's 2020 lawsuit is also now finally resolved. The court of appeals gave Hayley Paige back her Instagram account and she has subsequently settled the lawsuit with her former employer JLM Couture for over $260,000 allowing her to move forward designing under her name.

The TikTok Psychic Defamation case continues as TikTok relitigates its claims when responding to the professor's opposition to removing the judge and amending the judgment.

I break down count two in the podcast. The trial is scheduled to begin on January 27th, 2025, to account for the possibility of an appeal.

Logan Paul is suing YouTuber Coffeezilla, alleging defamation related to the CryptoZoo project. At the heart of the lawsuit is Coffeezilla’s portrayal of CryptoZoo as a scam, and Paul’s claim that his comments have damaged his reputation.

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee has also sued Prime Hydration, a sports drink company founded by social media influencer Logan Paul. The lawsuit alleges that Prime Hydration LLC infringed upon several trademarks of the USOPC including phrasings such as Olympic, Going for the Gold, and Team USA.

An injunction is being requested to further prevent infringement of these terms, which may be granted due to the rights the USOPC has over these phrases.

As the hearing for a new trial approaches in the Karen Read case, new filings have emerged, including an affidavit from an anonymous juror requesting an extended order to protect juror anonymity due to significant safety concerns. The judge granted the request by sealing the jury list indefinitely.

The Scandoval lawsuit has had several additional motions. Ariana Madix’s Anti-SLAPP motion was denied, while Rachel Leviss and her father filed an affidavit detailing the emotional distress and financial costs incurred due to Tom and Ariana’s actions.

Tom Sandoval filed a cross-complaint against Ariana, seeking the court's declaration on liability percentages for damages. Tom posted on Instagram that he fired the attorney who filed the cross-complaint and rescinded the filing.

Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney were sued by Chef Penny of “Their Something About Her Sandwich Shop”. Per the complaint, chef Penny Davidi claims that the duo did not honor the terms of her role as COO and Director of Culinary at the restaurant. Let me know if it is something I should do a deep dive into.

Defense attorney Jason Bowles filed a motion for a new trial or dismissal in the case of armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. Bowles alleges that a significant amount of information was withheld from the defense, including two reports from one of the state's weapons experts, a complete interview with Seth Kenney, and 900 pages related to state witnesses.

Judge Ural Glanville, presiding over the YSL RICO trial, was ordered to be removed from the case on Monday. A new judge has been assigned and the trial will proceed on August 5th.

In a summary judgment, the court found the purported TikTok Psychic liable for defamation against a professor at the University of Idaho. The TikToker filed a motion to amend the filing and remove the judge from the case.

Finally, Tom Girardi's federal criminal trial for stealing client funds has been scheduled for early August.

Bryan Kohberger Case: Defense Challenges AT&T Timing Advance Records09 Apr 202500:05:36

Bryan Kohberger will be back in court on April 9th & 10th, 2025 to discuss Motions in Limine and other filings. The State adds another Prosecutor to the team - Attorney Hurwit. An important limine is the AT&T Timing Advance Records. There's a dispute between the Prosecution and Defense regarding access to these records.

The prosecution claims the records related to Kohberger timed out and no longer exist due to AT&T's policy of keeping them for only seven days. The defense questions this, suggesting that law enforcement may have seen these records and that the Prosecution might not be fully disclosing information.

What's the truth about the 7-day retention policy? This could be a potential for a major issue if the Prosecution had the records and didn't disclose them, versus if AT&T simply stating the records no longer exist.

Netflix's show, Baby Reindeer, is being sued by Fiona Harvey, who claims the viewers of the hit show think she is the character 'Martha' in real life. She states that she has been receiving harassment because the first episode of the show claims to be a true story. Martha stalks the show's main character and commits various crimes that viewers think Fiona committed as well. Fiona Harvey is suing Netflix for $170M for defamation and IIED as she claims to have not committed the crimes depicted in the show and doesn't have a criminal record.

Also this week, Alec Baldwin's defense responded to the motion for Use Immunity for Hannah Gutierrez. They believe it should not be granted. There is a hearing set for June 21st, 2024 regarding that motion.

Week five of the Karen Read trial only saw us in court for one day. I covered the first half of Day 18 which entailed the end of the cross-examination of Brian Higgins and then the court was dark for the testimony of John O'Keefe's niece and nephew.
