Shane Sparks- "Nobody's Safe"04 Jan 202601:17:01

The Dynasty Effect launches with one of the most recognizable voices in the sport: Shane Sparks. In this in-depth conversation, Shane takes us through his remarkable path from youth wrestling in Wisconsin to becoming the face of Big Ten Network, FloWrestling, and multiple NCAA Championships.

Shane discusses the turning points that defined his life, from becoming a young father at 20, to walking away from a financially successful job to pursue broadcasting at six dollars an hour. He breaks down his philosophy built around the Five P’s, the role of faith in sharpening his perspective, and how disappointment becomes a gift only when it is earned.

We revisit his Wisconsin state final, analyze the lessons hidden in heartbreak, and explore why wrestling remains the ultimate teacher. Shane shares his thoughts on Penn State's dynasty, dual meet culture, the rise of National Duals, and what fans can expect in the upcoming season.

This episode is about belief, hunger, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of what you were born to do....and was brought to you by the letter "P"!

Sam Neider- "Rewire Your Brain"19 Jan 202601:25:30

This episode of The Dynasty Effect features Sam Neider, one of the most memorable figures from the St. Edward wrestling program and a key presence in the Clash of Dynasties story. Sam talks openly about what it was like to revisit his historic match against Damon Williams, a moment that carried emotional weight for decades. The conversation explores how the documentary brought back memories he had pushed aside, what it felt like to reconnect with former rivals, and how the experience helped him process regret and find new perspective.Sam also breaks down the environment that shaped him at St. Eds. He talks about the instability of the program when he arrived, the mentors who kept the culture alive, and the older wrestlers who took him under their wing. He explains the pressure that came with wearing an Eagles singlet and how those years helped define the way he now leads, coaches, and develops others.

The episode then shifts to the work he is doing today. Sam explains why he created The Room, how it brings former wrestlers together for brotherhood and growth, and how his leadership company Higher Purpose helps business owners build clarity, discipline, and direction. Through every part of the conversation, Sam returns to a simple theme. Wrestlers understand one another in a way few groups do, and the lessons from the sport carry into every part of life.

Lance Palmer "Life of The Party"16 Mar 202601:29:15

Lance Palmer is one of the most accomplished wrestlers to ever come out of Ohio. A four time Ohio State Champion for St. Edward High School, Palmer became the first wrestler in school history to win four state titles and one of the most dominant wrestlers the state has ever produced. His success continued at Ohio State University where he became a Big Ten Champion, four time NCAA All-American, and NCAA finalist.
After college, Palmer transitioned into professional fighting and quickly became one of the top featherweights in the sport. He captured two World Series of Fighting titles and later won two Professional Fighters League championships, building a career as one of the most successful wrestlers to cross over into MMA.
In this episode of The Dynasty Effect Podcast, Palmer discusses his journey through the legendary St. Edward wrestling program, the pressure and expectations that came with chasing four state titles, and what it took to compete at the highest levels of college wrestling. He also reflects on helping build Ohio State into a national contender during the early years of the Tom Ryan era.
The conversation also dives into one of the most unusual chapters of Palmer’s life: bear wrestling. Palmer explains how he first got involved, what it was really like stepping into the ring with a bear, and how those experiences fit into his broader journey in combat sports.
Today, Palmer remains deeply involved in the fight world through Real American Freestyle (RAF), helping build creative and exciting new opportunities for wrestlers and fighters.

This episode explores the mindset of a champion, the transition from wrestling to fighting, and the lessons learned from competing at the highest levels of combat sports.

Growing up in North Allegheny, a Pennsylvania powerhouse that once stood among the nation’s elite, and later competing at Oklahoma State, another national juggernaut, Teague saw firsthand how dynasties are built on tradition, expectation, and talent, and how they can also slowly fade away.
Teague breaks down the subtle differences between programs that sustain success and those that rely on reputation. He shares hard truths about recruiting, development, coaching young men, and why culture erodes long before results do. The conversation dives into leadership, pressure, modern wrestling systems, and what families often misunderstand about the path to the next level.

Brad Byers- "Don't Quit"22 Jun 202601:23:27

From Walsh Jesuit to the cockpit to the White House, Brad “Barf” Byers has lived at the highest levels of pressure, performance, and leadership.

A 1997 Ohio State Champion, Ironman Champion, and member of one of the most dominant Walsh Jesuit teams ever, Byers went on to become a 3x NCAA Qualifier and team captain at UNC before earning his wings as a USMC fighter pilot. From there, his path took him into executive leadership, and ultimately into a senior advisory role at the highest levels of government.

In this episode, we go deep into the mindset required to succeed when the stakes are real. From walking into the Walsh room for one season and becoming a national contender, to flying missions where every decision matters, to leading in business and government, Byers breaks down what toughness, leadership, and accountability really mean.

We get into call signs, combat mindset, rivalry energy, and the parallels between a wrestling room and a fighter squadron. This one is about pressure, identity, and what it takes to perform when there are no easy options.

Viktor Sveda- "No Boundaries"11 May 202601:24:18

State Champ, HS National Champ, ASICS First Team All-American, Junior National Runner-Up, and member of the 1996 Junior World Team, Viktor Sveda was one of the most dominant and relentless wrestlers of his era, but his story goes far beyond the mat.In 1995, Viktor transferred to Walsh Jesuit and immediately stepped into the heart of the St. Edward vs. Walsh rivalry. He wrestled in Ironman finals, Reno Tournament of Champions, the legendary 1996 and 1997 dual meets, and closed his high school career with a dominant senior season. At Indiana University, Viktor became a 2X NCAA All-American and the program’s all-time winningest wrestler with 149 wins, competing in one of the toughest eras in college wrestling; sharing brackets with names like Cael Sanderson and Andy Hrovat...who, SURPRISE, shows up on the episode and they watch one of their classic NCAA Blood Round Matches together, which happened to be Viktor's last match ever.
After college, he transitioned into coaching at Kent State and Columbia before helping build The Edge Wrestling in Hoboken, New Jersey, developing high-level athletes while mentoring young wrestlers in one of the sport’s most competitive regions.
But there’s another layer.
Later in life, Viktor reinvented himself through music; writing, producing, and performing under digital.Viktor. In this episode, he opens up about identity, pressure, rivalry, growth, discipline, creativity, and how wrestling prepared him for every chapter that followed.
This is a conversation that has NO BOUNDARIES and an episode about evolution; as an athlete, a coach, a musician, and a man.
