What starts as an accidental recording drops you directly into the fight — no setup, no warning, just Nate Campbell, a Deathclaw, and a dog who refused to run.
The second tape is quieter. Much quieter. Nate's back at Forward Base Alpha, battered, barely remembering how he got there, with broken ribs and a power armor suit that's done for now.

Nate's moving toward Concord for answers — and finds a war zone instead.
Five raiders. A man pinned down on a balcony. And a dog who'd already made up his mind before Nate had.
This tape follows Nate through the streets and into the Museum of Freedom... where split-second decisions, a weapon he'd never held before, and a ragtag group of survivors called the Minutemen are about to complicate an already impossible mission.
He came to Concord for information about Shaun. He's leaving in power armor.

This is the episode where Nate stops performing and just — talks.

Still inside Vault 111, October 23rd, 2287. Second entry for the day... The first was too emotional. Too raw. Something shifted between the first recording and this one.
The grief is still there — it isn't going anywhere — but something else showed up alongside it. Nate Campbell, former covert special operative and decorated war veteran, runs a full recon of the vault, pieces together what Vault-Tec really had planned for its residents, and prepares to surface into a world he's never seen before.
The soldier is in control now... a target has been acquired, and a killer was awakened.

Nate conducts a full tactical recon of Vault 111 and uncovers the truth about the cryogenic experiment Vault-Tec ran.
The Overseer's logs reveal a dark secret — the residents were never meant to leave.
A holotape found in the rec room sparks a memory of a teammate... of a friend named Ramirez.
Nate profiles the man who murdered Nora. He relies on soldier mode and goes cold. 'He was trained, scarred, no hesitation.'

Day One - Early Morning.
Vault 111. A man wakes up who shouldn't be alive — and finds out everything he loved is gone. This is the first recovered holotape from Nate Campbell, a pre-war soldier and sole survivor of Vault 111, recorded in the moments after he was thawed from cryo-stasis.
Recorded on a Pip-Boy 3000 Mark IV that he took of a skeleton's wrist near the vault's exit. Nate is trying to hang on to some form of reality... but, his reality isn't even real yet. Everything he knew is gone. Everyone he loved is gone.
His wife was murdered. His infant son was stolen. Two hundred and ten years erased in an instant. This is where the story starts — raw, broken, and barely holding together. He has to make a choice. Break... or get control.
In This Holotape
Nate Campbell records his first entry inside Vault 111 — barely coherent, barely standing.
The aftermath of watching his wife Nora murdered through cryo-pod glass almost breaks him… almost.
His infant son Shaun was taken by an unknown man with a scarred face.
Giant cockroaches, an empty vault, and his dead neighbors are all that's left to greet him.
That moment the soldier takes over when the father cannot go on.

Who is DJ Dusty? She's a wanderer. A survivor. A woman who's seen too much of the nastiness that the wasteland has in it, and the nastiness that humans can have in them too. She doesn't pretend the wasteland ain't ugly, but she's just too stubborn to stop believing people are worth talking to.
She's ran caravans from California to New Vegas. Been a mercenary in the Capital Wasteland, and even ran with the Brotherhood for a spell as a scribe in the Boston Commonwealth.
Somewhere between dodging Deathclaws and double-crossers, she heard a voice on the radio that changed everything for her.
She has done some AWFUL things to stay breathing, and she's spent a lifetime trying to atone for her past... even though it wasn't the past she was supposed to have. So, she hung up her rifle, dusted off an old transmitter, and just started talking.
This season is centered around a busted Pip-Boy she recovered during her travels. When she got it running again, she discovered daily recordings... a story she'd never heard. One that she just knew she HAD to tell. So, painstakingly transferred them to holotapes and this show was born.
Nate Campbell was the sole survivor of Vault 111. You may thin you know his story... but, you'd be wrong.

The Dusty Signal is a Fallout 4 fan fiction audio drama created by one person, Garrick Cline... That's me, a 54 year-old, Army veteran and a longtime Fallout fan. The Dusty Signal is built from scratch when time allows it. I'm a husband, father, grandfather and I work a full-time, labor-intensive job. But I love the Fallout universe and have wanted to tell this story for a long time.
This podcast was created under the Classic Me Studio (my one man creative studio) banner. Voices have been brought to life with ElevenLabs AI technology. Every word is written, produced, and assembled by me. All sound engineering is created by me. This show is made with AI, not by AI..
The use of AI in this audio drama production series is by necessity only. I am only one person.... I have no budget, no big production company backing me, no team of professionals, no connections to voice actors or the ability to pay them. I have me, what little time I have between being a husband, father, grandfather, and full-time employee. I LOVE to create things and this story has lived in my head for many years... AI gives me the tools to bring it to life.
