Episode 146: Andrew Fisher, Homebrew Writer for Retro Gamer Magazine
jeudi 30 octobre 2025 • Duration 01:16:29
This month on the DreamPod, Lozz and Lewis are joined by freelance video game writer Andrew Fisher to discuss his career and everything Dreamcast homebrew.
With decades of experience in video game journalism, Andrew's work spans publications such as Wireframe, ZZAP! 64, ZZAP! Amiga, Commodore Force, Commodore Format, Fusion, and of course, Retro Gamer magazine — where he pens his monthly column, "The Homebrewer’s Kit." With the Sega Dreamcast having become such a prolific console for independent development in recent years, it’s only natural that our scene has crossed Andrew's radar. In fact, in issue 277 of Retro Gamer, this year’s biggest Dreamcast projects featured prominently in Andrew’s column.

Episode 51
vendredi 23 juin 2017 • Duration 44:43
DreamPod 51 is here and your regular hosts Tom, Rob and Ross get together to discuss all the important issues from that thing known as the internet. Rob joins us live from the decadence of the Future Publishing offices while sipping champagne from a diamond-encrusted unicorn horn, and Ross has been sipping the finest Japanese whiskey that bitcoins can buy. Meanwhile, Tom’s been on the cheapest gut-rot lemonade he could find in the local corner shop. But we won’t that gulf in opulence perturb us, as we delve into the recent news about SEGA Forever, Hover: Revolt of Gamers (the new JSR-inspired game with music from Hideki Naganuma), the Shenmue III delay, the finer points of the Akura HDMI adapter, a new Dreamcast-themed t-shirt from underground clothing label Damascus and also the discovery of new playable characters in Cosmic Smash! This is episode 51 of the world’s greatest Dreamcast podcast called DreamPod and we hope you enjoy it!

Episode 49
dimanche 9 avril 2017 • Duration 01:07:11
The DreamPod travelled to the fair city of Bristol in the UK to record a special edition in the shadow of Brunel’s famous ship SS Great Britain. Regular hosts Tom, Rob and Mike got together on the banks of the River Avon to sit down and - for the first time in DreamPod history - speak face to face about the pertinent points from the Dreamcast scene. New Dreamcast multiplayer game Alice Dreams Tournament, Orion’s latest release Escape 2042, the new Shenmue jacket from Insert Coin, and the upcoming Dreamcast book from Pix ’N Love are all discussed. Elsewhere, Tom discusses selling off large parts of his retro collection and the DreamStream Nintendo Switch April fools joke; while Mike and Rob discuss their experiences with Mass Effect Andromeda. Finally, questions from the Facebook group are tackled. Please excuse the background interruptions from seagulls, random trains, groups of drunk skateboarders and police sirens. This is DreamPod 49, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed recording it!

Episode 47
lundi 27 février 2017 • Duration 01:02:58
Episode 47 of The Dreamcast Junkyard DreamPod is here! Settle down and join your regular hosts Tom, Mike, Ross and Caleb as they reconvene to discuss the pertinent (and not so pertinent) topics from burgeoning Dreamcast scene. In this episode, you’ll be wowed by Mike’s admission that he cooks avocado on a George Foreman grill, you’ll be outraged by Ross’s tales of fake Mega Drive carts from China, and you’ll be bowled over by Tom’s knowledge of fake news from the year 2000. Not much has changed but they live under water. Probably. Other topics covered in this episode include the recent news of Rush Rush Rally Reloaded and Visco fighter Breakers coming to the Dreamcast, Alice Dreams Tournament almost being ready to ship, some guy selling repro white labels on eBay, Shenmue HD rumours, the Dream Points Bank, a little bit of Nintendo Switch chat and a few questions from listeners. Come on in, grab a seat and get some DreamPod in your ears!

Episode 46: Featuring Dreamcast Hub
lundi 23 janvier 2017 • Duration 51:24
DreamPod 46 has landed. Join regular hosts Tom, Mike and Caleb as they welcome regular guest host Stephen of Dreamcast Hub to discuss more random Dreamcast-related news! There’s some Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Classic Mini talk to begin with, but that’s all thrown out of the window after a while. Orion’s new Kickstarter venture, the weird official Megadrive emulator, the Crafti Minecraft clone, the Shenmue HD web addresses and the bizarre Trickstyle iMessage stickers are all covered; along with a discussion about the Berenstain Bears and the Mandela effect. It’s a strange episode…and we hope you enjoy it!
