Rachelle Dené Poth is an edtech consultant, presenter, attorney, author, and teacher. Rachelle teaches Spanish and STEAM: What’s nExT in Emerging Technology at Riverview Junior Senior High School in Oakmont, PA. Rachelle has a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law and a Master’s in Instructional Technology, and earned a second doctorate, focused on Educational Technology.

Rachelle is an ISTE Certified Educator and a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert. She is a past-president of the ISTE Teacher Education Network and served on the Leadership team of the Mobile Learning Network for five years. I have my Master's in Education and over fifteen years of tutoring, coaching, and helping guide others in completing objectives. I started my own tutoring company in 2011 in North Dallas, and now we are an online nationwide provider. We have been contracted for major corporations, homeschool families, and individual families.

I love to be active, play sports, travel, explore cultures, scuba dive, craft/repurpose, learn, and hang out with my husband and three cats!

Robert Simmons III, Ed.D. is the Head of Social Impact for Micron Technology. As a noted scholar on education and race, American University appointed Robert a Scholar in Residence and Scholar of Antiracist Praxis in the School of Education, where he teaches doctoral courses on race & racism in society and schools, as well as how social media is a tool for activists and movement building. As a member of the Diversity Scholars Network at the National Center for Institutional Diversity at the University of Michigan, Robert‘s research for the last 15 years has focused on racial equity in STEM, and the lived realities of historically marginalized communities across multiple K-12 contexts. More specifically, he explores the experiences of Black students and teachers in a variety of contexts, including--public school districts, public charter schools, and Jesuit high schools. Additionally, Robert's work explores antiracist praxis in K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations.

Sharif El-Mekki is the Founder and CEO of the Center for Black Educator Development. The Center exists to ensure there will be equity in the recruiting, training, hiring, and retention of quality educators that reflect the cultural backgrounds and share common socio-political interests of the students they serve. The Center is developing a nationally relevant model to measurably increase teacher diversity and support Black educators through four pillars: Professional Learning, Pipeline, Policies, and Pedagogy. So far, the Center has developed ongoing and direct professional learning, mentoring, and coaching opportunities for Black teachers and other educators serving students of color. 

The Center also carries forth the freedom or liberation school legacy by hosting Freedom School sites that incorporates research-based curricula and exposes high school and college students to the teaching profession to help fuel a pipeline of Black educators. 

Prior to founding the Center, El-Mekki served as a nationally recognized principal and U.S. Department of Education Principal Ambassador Fellow. His school, Mastery Charter Shoemaker, was recognized by President Obama and Oprah Winfrey, and was awarded the prestigious EPIC award for three consecutive years as being amongst the top three schools in the country for accelerating students’ achievement levels. The Shoemaker Campus was also recognized as one of the top ten middle school and top ten high schools in the state of Pennsylvania for accelerating the achievement levels of African-American students. 

In 2014, El-Mekki founded The Fellowship – Black Male Educators for Social Justice, an organization dedicated to recruiting, retaining, and developing Black male teachers. El-Mekki blogs on Phillys7thWard, is a member of the 8 Black Hands podcast and serves on several boards and committees focused on educational and racial justice.

Olivia O. Cardenas-Trowers, M.D., is a fellowship-trained Urogynecologist at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida who specializes in treating female pelvic floor disorders.
