| 80: How To Heal Your Postpartum Symptoms Through Physical Therapy with Kelsey Vagnoni | 27 Jun 2022 | 00:16:16 | |
Many women face a lot of lingering issues after having a baby.
They face back pain, diastasis recti, pelvic floor issues, and so much more. Unfortunately, most don’t get the treatment they need because the medical focus usually shifts to the baby after birth.
In today’s episode of The Dr. Kinney Show, I sat down with Kelsey Vagnoni to talk about how physical therapy can make a huge difference for postpartum moms.
Kelsey Vagnoni earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Delaware in 2007. Since that time, she has taken over 400 hours of additional hands-on training to improve her manual therapy skills. She spent 9 years in outpatient orthopedics as a spine and pelvic specialist before starting her own business.
She became a mother in 2015. While she was recovering from a very traumatic birth, she realized physical therapy had a much-needed place in postpartum recovery. Why is physical therapy routine for a sprained ankle but not after childbirth?
She started Personalized Physical Therapy in 2016 with a goal to provide high-quality, accessible care to mothers and change the way we think about physical therapy. The truth is, postpartum women don’t get the care they need to truly heal their bodies after all they go through.
Tune in to learn more about how physical therapy can help you heal your body and improve your strength postpartum.

| 79: Hydration: Why You Might Not Be Healing Without It with Dr. Dana Cohen | 20 Jun 2022 | 00:23:53 | |
Everyone knows that they need to drink water, but do you actually understand the importance of hydration?
When speaking of chronic disease, many doctors will emphasize the importance of nutrition. Nutrition is definitely a huge piece of the healing puzzle, but another, more overlooked piece is hydration. Hydration really needs to be your starting point before you go on any nutritional plan. The best part? It only takes one day to start seeing results. Whereas with nutrition, it takes weeks to start seeing the effects of your diet changes, you’ll know immediately what it’s like to feel better because you are hydrated.
In today’s episode of The Dr. Kinney Show, I sat down with Dr. Dana Cohen to talk about optimal hydration and why it should be the first treatment plan for any disease or illness.
Dr. Cohen has worked side by side with the late Dr. Robert Atkins, a true pioneer in the field of integrative medicine. Well respected by her peers and beloved by her patients, Dr. Cohen, most importantly, is a clinician. She is an internal medicine doctor who has spent her career focusing on integrative medicine. She has helped thousands of patients find relief from a variety of health problems utilizing the principles of integrative and functional medicine.
She practices with an emphasis on the individual, understanding that no two patients are alike. She focuses on nutrition and limits her patients’ reliance on prescription medications by using diet, lifestyle changes, and nutritional supplementation.
To heal chronic issues, you have to get back to the basics. Tune in to learn more about optimal hydration and how you can properly hydrate and start seeing immediate results.

| 76: The Connection Between Stealth Infections and Your Hormone Levels | 30 May 2022 | 00:17:03 | |
Have you ever wondered if your hormones are out of balance?
This is a really important topic and something that I talk a lot about with my patients. Many women come in and say that something is going on with their hormones. They may not know which hormones are out of whack, but they know it has to do with their hormones and they need help.
In this episode of The Dr. Kinney Show, I am sharing everything you need to know about stealth infections and the endocrine system, a.k.a.- your hormones. Many times these imbalances are caused by a stealth infection that’s been slowly wreaking havoc on your body.
You don’t have to live with these symptoms. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to ask your provider to go deeper. Get these tests done and get to the bottom of it so that you can finally start to heal. If you don’t feel like your provider supports you or understands, it’s okay to find a new one! Life is too short and your health is too important to let this slide.
Tune in to learn more about what infections could be causing a hormonal imbalance, what your doctor should be checking for, and so much more.

So when you feel that racing heart or nervous energy, it’s important to slow down, take a step back, and try to figure out what your body is trying to tell you. Is there something you need to do or some action you need to take? Could it be excitement, motivation, or anticipation?
In this episode of The Dr. Kinney Show, I sat down with Dr. Avigail Lev to talk more about our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, listening to our bodies, and changing our relationship with our thoughts.
Dr. Avigail (Abby) Lev is a psychotherapist, author, mediator, international speaker, and executive coach in San Francisco, California. She is the director of the Bay Area CBT Center, a clinic that specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals and couples break unhelpful patterns, develop healthier habits, and improve all areas of life.
She has co-authored three books on utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to strengthen relationships and has presented her research at numerous conferences. Her work has been featured in Forbes, Huffington Post, Business Insider, Dr. Drew, Bloomberg news, Verywell Mind, MSN, Psych Central, KGO, Psychologists Off the Clock, Healing Powers Podcast, Dateable, and many more.

| 60: Why You Might Need to Drop The Ball to Achieve More Balance with Emily Ransone | 07 Feb 2022 | 00:25:12 | |
Do you feel like you have a pretty good balance in your life?
Sometimes, it can feel like we are on the hamster wheel of life just trying to get by. This is generally a good indicator that something is out of balance. We have to step off that hamster wheel and into the driver’s seat to find the positive momentum we sometimes desperately need.
That’s not to say it would be easy though. Growth requires us to be challenged and pushed beyond the boundaries of our comfort zone.
In this episode of The Dr. Kinney Show, I sat down with Emily Ransone to talk about how we can replace the busyness with more balance and achieve the type of growth we have been searching for.
Emily was one of those high achievers that looked great on the outside. Leading a 14-year career in corporate America, then owning two successful office furniture dealerships and two commercial real estate start-ups. But on the inside, she was deteriorating to the point where her body couldn’t produce a baby. She felt depleted, disillusioned, and full of despair.
Reinventing herself and her company through discovering the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS®) she was able to turn everything around and today leads a healthy business and life. Emily was able to tap into an innovative way of running her $50 million company so that she was able to reclaim control and free up her time to focus on what she really loves to do.
Tune in to hear more about how we can start taking care of ourselves, learn to say no, and ask for help when we need it to find more balance. You’ll also get some tools and tips to help you start seeing positive growth in your life

Have you ever felt like you were living your life for someone else?
It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that if you just do this one “thing”, other people will love you more. Many times, this pattern of people-pleasing can be extremely harmful to our physical and mental health.
Today’s guest on the Dr. Kinney Show, Paul Fishman, had the realization that most people are doing this, and their health was suffering for it. He made it his mission to teach self-love and show people how happy they can be if they are working to please themselves, not others.
Paul is the host of the top 100 podcast, The Road to Self Love, and creator of the Self Love "Diet", a 6-month transformative program that teaches you how to say yes to yourself, ditch the people-pleasing, and live the life you've always wanted.
His mission is simple, to empower and inspire a sense of belonging in each of us. Paul has been lauded for creating brave space, building a fiercely dedicated community, and helping thousands of humans love themselves unconditionally.
It’s a lot easier to point the finger at other people for your pain but sometimes you need to take a hard look at yourself to see what you really need to change. The key to becoming a healthier, happier you is to habitually nourish the devotion to your own individuality.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a lot more people have become interested in how they can increase their immunity. This has put a spotlight on glutathione therapy which is what my guest in today’s episode, Gian-Carlo Torres, is an expert in.
Gian-Carlo is joining me to chat about immune health and more specifically, how he became an expert in it!

Flashing forward, he is now an award-winning young entrepreneur and immune health expert who leads a team generating seven-digit yearly sales, which has helped more than 3,000 people boost their immune systems. He has spent the past four years working closely alongside doctors, scientists, and world-renowned health publications to study the powerful effects of glutathione. | 45: An Informational Guide to the Nutritional and Medicinal Benefit of Mushrooms with Jeff Chilton | 25 Oct 2021 | 00:40:39 | |
What is your perception of mushrooms? Have you ever read any studies or listened to any podcast episodes explaining the health benefits of mushrooms?
If not, this is the episode for you because Jeff Chilton is joining me to tell us all about his career, his journey, how he learned about everything to do with the mushroom industry, and more.
With over 40 years of experience in the medicinal (non-hallucinogenic) mushroom industry, Jeff is looking to spread his wealth of knowledge about our fungi friends and their incredible health benefits!
In the late 60s after studying Ethno-mycology (the study of human-fungal interactions) at the University of Washinton Jeff began a career as a large-scale commercial mushroom grower. From there, with a lack of medicinal mushrooms and extracts available in the US market, he founded Nammex, the first certified organic mushroom extract and supplement company in the US. To this day Jeff continues to spread awareness of all the incredible health benefits mushrooms can have on the human body and to inform the public that most mushroom extracts on the market aren’t even real!
We cover the nutritional and medicinal benefits of mushrooms, why everyone should use mushrooms as preventative medicine, how to make sure you choose the right mushroom, and more, so listen closely because mushrooms might be something you need to consider on your own health journey!
