Remember back in Series 4 when we were finally getting our act together? Originally released October 19th, 2022, this classic Series 3 episode of The DOD45 Show is back from the archives as part of our massive re-release campaign — because Spotify decided to pull the rug out from under us and terminate our original account. Their loss. Your second chance to catch (or relive) the madness.

During Series 3, we had nearly locked into our signature format and pacing. Major strides had been made since Series 2, but we were still a few wild leaps away from the tightly-wound chaos you see now, post-Series 7. Watching these episodes is seeing a work in progress that already had a hell of a lot to offer.

In this special Halloween-style episode, Tai and Adrienne sat down with none other than Howard Berger — Academy Award and Emmy-winning makeup effects master from the legendary KNB EFX Group — to talk about his debut book Masters of Make-up Effects and a lifetime of unforgettable work behind the scenes of Hollywood's greatest films.

While Tai drew a custom rendition of The Creature from the Black Lagoon for Howard, the conversation went deep into the art, the history, and the weirdness of Hollywood practical effects.
