Cold Slither is a concept band, taking not only their name, but so much more from GI Joe's nemesis, Zartan and the Dreadnoks. I grew up loving GI Joe, and who didn't? This album appealed not only to my love of Heavy Metal, but my love of GI Joe and the nostalgia it brought me. Reigning Phoenix Music founder Gerardo Martinez, partnered with Hasbro, the makers of GI Joe figures, and the coinciding video series that accompanied the figures. Talking with Gus, who you may know from KMFDM, Exhumed and Gruesome (another killer album this year), reignited the flame for GI Joe and he has me watching all the old episodes.

This isn't some cheesy, gimmick to sell stuff. You can see the passion Gus has for the project and I am just as excited, being a lifelong fan of both metal and Joe. As much as I want Gus and the dudes to succeed, I can't be rooting for Zartan and the Dreadnoks. Sorry, but it's YO JOE! all day, everyday.

On this episode of the Distorted Dialogue podcast, we sit down with Richie Cavalera, founding member and frontman of the groove and thrash metal band Incite. Incite takes two of my favorite genres of metal, Groove and Thrash, cuts off the fat and jams into your ears with force. A unique twist on both, Incite had be banging my head and throwing horns in the air, as I listened to their latest singles, Just A Rat, No Mercy No Forgiveness, and my favorite so far, Dolores. We discuss a ton of topics, to include the three new singles, the latest album, Savage New Times, August 15, 2025, and I can't wait. Following up the successes of their 2022 album, Wake Up Dead, Incite use different tempos, different instruments and a different approach to their writing and growth.We also discussed their appearances on the Summer Slaughter Tour, hosted by Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta, being on Reigning Phoenix Records and also being the son of the legendary Gloria Cavalera, one of the First Ladies of thrash, who kicked ass and took names all over the globe! I really enjoyed this chat, but honestly, not as much as I enjoyed their music. You guys know riffs are my favorite thing!!! All jokes aside, Richie was an awesome guest, and I hope there is more coming from their camp soon, and make sure you snag a copy of their latest album, Savage New Times. No one can deny, the growth and evolution of a sound into one kick ass form!A great talk, with a great dude, from a great band, I cannot wait for the self titled entire record to come out, and with the strength of these few singles, it is going to be a mind blowing release. The first 3 singles, Water & Time, House of Light, and American Death, take the strengths from their previous albums and double down on the strengths, making this a phenomenal sound. Irish metal band Horrenda, sits down and discusses a ton of exciting news, regarding their upcoming U.S. physical release of their album Dioltas, on May, 30 2025. A unique blend of death and black metal, mixed with some atmospherics, and a hefty amount of weight. Mixing in snippets of political speeches, from some of histories greatest leaders, this album, provoked a ton of thoughts, and after repeated listens, I even started questioning some of my own values. Based off of the mythologies and the colored histories of this island, whether it be politics, labor, the famine and more, this is not only a well written album, but the execution is just as good.

Founder Darragh O'Conner sits and talks, history, influences, and other countrymen who are just as heavy. He even discuss other Irish heavyweights in Uragh and Kriak, taking time to share the stage and promote some of his fellow bands that he has shared the stage with, like Dead Flesh. You can tell Darragh's passion for music and it comes across in Horrenda's new album, Dioltas.

I had a great time talking to Darragh, and hopefully you will watching this! This is for fans of Dark Throne, Bolt Thrower, and other bands that have that blackened death feel, which will keep the metalheads and headbangers wrecking their necks for quite awhile. Irish metal band Horrenda, sits down and discusses a ton of exciting news, regarding their upcoming U.S. physical release of their album Dioltas, on May, 30 2025. A unique blend of death and black metal, mixed with some atmospherics, and a hefty amount of weight. Mixing in snippets of political speeches, from some of histories greatest leaders, this album, provoked a ton of thoughts, and after repeated listens, I even started questioning some of my own values. Based off of the mythologies and the colored histories of this island, whether it be politics, labor, the famine and more, this is not only a well written album, but the execution is just as good.

Founder Darragh O'Conner sits and talks, history, influences, and other countrymen who are just as heavy. He even discuss other Irish heavyweights in Uragh and Kriak, taking time to share the stage and promote some of his fellow bands that he has shared the stage with, like Dead Flesh. You can tell Darragh's passion for music and it comes across in Horrenda's new album, Dioltas.

I had a great time talking to Darragh, and hopefully you will watching this! This is for fans of Dark Throne, Bolt Thrower, and other bands that have that blackened death feel, which will keep the metalheads and headbangers wrecking their necks for quite awhile. Pittsburgh Sludgelord's in Stalemate of Wills are releasing their new album Existence Denied, which puts a salty, rusty spin on New Orleans sludge, with a mix of old school hardcore and marinated in doom, they swung by on Episode 75 of the Distorted Dialogue Podcast. It really is a small world, as I knew they were local, but they are from old stomping grounds, and Stalemate of Wills tells how they have an upcoming show, in support of the upcoming album, Existence Denied. As they self identify, too sludgy for doom, too doomy for sludge, that is what is so good about this album. It appeals to more than just one type of sounds. Which makes Existence Denied more than just a sludge album, with hardcore influences and DIY roots.

On Episode 19 of the Distorted Dialogue Podcast, Sofia Frasz stops by, the brains behind the solo project Exiled Hope. We talk about the newest album, Apocrypha, which is a Blackened Progressive metal album, with heavy doom influences, and she did everything on the album guitars, vocals, bass, everything, which gives a great cohesion through the whole thing.

We discuss the level of dedication that she puts into everything, from the album, to her studies, and how she manages to balance it all is beyond me. She also expands on where her influences come from, and no wonder I like her music, she likes the same stuff as me.
