The Diecast Podcast: “I’m King of the World” Tomb of Annihilation S4E21 Group A19 Jun 201802:25:35

“I’m King of the World”

Group A has got a problem in the jungle.  Well, they have a few problems, but they seem to be concentrated with the undead.  More specifically, the undead underneath a crashed airship.  It’s never just a simple problem with Group A.  However, they should be well rested to take on the undead hordes harrying the airship survivours.  It is just a jungle vacation after all, isn’t it?

How’s Group B doing again?

Group A has some ghouls to slay and some people to save, let’s hope they can also save the day.

“The Smell of Ham”

Group B continues their rest in Kir Sabal.  While Group A camps it out in the Aldani Basin, Group B is making friends and learning more about Chult with the bird people.  It’s a welcome bit of rest as they can relax from the dangers of the jungle.  They now have a place to sit and think about what to do with Mercy and what they can learn from the cliff side community that is giving them shelter.  What will their next move be?  Where are they going to mark as their next destination?  The smell of ham and lemons will follow you around after this episode.

It’s time to travel at a medium pace.  Group A goes on an adventure in the Aldani Basin.  There are dinosaurs abound in the area, but it seems like Group A is heading towards the wreck of an air ship.  What will they find in the basin, and how long will it take to get there?  The only thing we know for sure is, they will travel at a medium pace.

After the deadly encounter with Queen Zalkore in Nangalore, Group B decides to head north for Kir Sabal.  A small encampment of bird people that live on the side of a cliff.  Eku seems to have some relationship with them, and they seem to help adventurers in need.  Group B falls into the latter category, and maybe they can help with bringing Mercy back.  Dungar the Breaker of Knees leads the way as they navigate north towards the cliffs, and hopefully some answers.

What will they uncover?  What will they discover about the Queen?  Will the Group learn more about the area and the Death Curse?

The Diecast Podcast: “Enter The Snakeman” Tomb of Annihilation S4E16 Group A14 May 201802:40:08

“Enter The Snakeman”

Sometimes an NPC just walks into your life and changes everything.  Other times, players see an NPC and then change everything for it.  In this episode of the Diecast Podcast, Group A expands the world of Carl Snakeman.  It’s one of those great table moments that will stay with us as players for a life time.

However, back to the task at hand, the Death Curse still needs to be solved.  Group A has a new destination.  The city of Omu.  They plan to stop off at an airship along the way, but they have Omu on their minds.  It’s going to be more adventures in the jungle as they are armed with knowledge, magic, and the knowledge that Carl Snakeman is proud of them.

Group B now has to deal with the death of a party member.  How do you cope with the loss of a someone who died doing something heroic?  The Death Curse is still around, and there is a clue on Mercy’s wrist.  “Come Find Me,” the message left by Agnes Wormwiggle is daunting.  What could she offer the group?  What would it cost?

Group B has learned more about the area, and it looks like they’ve picked a direction.  Let’s hope they get there in one piece.

The Diecast Podcast: “Hopefully Nothing Bad Happens” Tomb of Annihilation S4E14 Group B30 Apr 201803:36:58

“Hopefully Nothing Bad Happens”

Group B is exploring the ruins of Hisari.  What can these ancient Yuan-Ti temples teach them?  Does it have some kind of connection to the Death Curse?   What does Ras’Nsi and Mezro have to do with any of this?  Group B is digging deep through the volcanic rock and ruins of the old Snake Temples, will they find a lead or will they find death?

The Diecast Podcast: “Encounters of the Heart” Tomb of Annihilation S4E13 Group A23 Apr 201802:45:43

“Encounters of the Heart”

Group A begins a new journey into the jungle.  The Grungs of Drungrungalung have given their blessing to the Omen Bearers/Almond Bears, and they continue to search for answers.  They are headed to the Heart of Ubtao, but know little about this mystic rock formation.

What will they find in the jungle?  What will be at the Heat of Ubtao?  Are snakes really the running theme of this season?

There’s a lot more jungle to explore, and a lot more pickled grunt to eat.

The Diecast Podcast: “The Commitment” Tomb of Annihilation S4E12 Group B16 Apr 201803:26:21

“The Commitment”

Group B continues their trek into the jungle.  They have nearly died a few times over, but their guide, Eku, has them in good hands.  There is some discussion about what it means to protect the jungle.  What are the motives of everyone in the group?  Are they in it for themselves or are they actually here to help?  They’ve already seen outside forces try and impose their will onto Chult.  What is the true purpose of Group B in the jungle?

A big thanks to our friends over at the Dumbgeons & Dragons podcast.  They are an amazing group of people, and you should give them a listen.  You can follow them on twitter @Dumbdragoncast and you can subscribe to their podcast on iTunes.

The Diecast Podcast: “I respect you. Hyuuugh!” Tomb of Annihilation S4E10 Group A03 Apr 201802:05:12

“I respect you. Hyuuugh!”

It’s the weekend after Easter, our apologies for being a little late.  We’re back in the Grung filled jungle (The Grungle?) and Group A has the task of deceiving and entire city to make a fake god come to life.  Ya know, just your usual D&D adventures, nothing out of the ordinary here?  How to convince a society of cannibals and hunters that their non existent god is coming back, and is ghosting the chief of their tribe?  Again, just your usual D&D adventure shenanigans.  At the very least, everyone respects everyone else, hyuuugh, hrrrrngh, huuuugh!

What will Group A learn from the Grungs?  Will they successfully replicate Nangnang?  Will Milo ever fix his weird finger?

Please share this with your friends, and anyone who loves D&D.  We love to meet other podcasts and fans of RPG’s.

The Diecast Podcast: “Oh, Hai Durand” Tomb of Annihilation S4E9 Group B26 Mar 201803:08:56

“Oh, hai Durand”

Group B has finally made it out of Port Nyanzaru, and they have arrived in Fort Belurian.  The Flaming Fist from Bauldur’s Gate has a fortification in the jungle.  They have pulled off a successful heist against Jobal and are getting away with the goods.  Will those items help them in the jungle?  What will they learn up at the Fort?  Will they see combat in this episode?  At least one of those things will happen this week.

Our apologies to Tommy Wise for the good/bad impression.

 “Grungs, Germs & Steel”

The terror in the jungle are large and undead.  It seems Chult has never dealt with its undead infestation.  Once those zombies get in, it’s just tough to get them out.  They’re like ants.  It has been a harrowing journey so far with Group A, as they try and survive all the monsters the jungle throws at them.  Is Drungrungalung worth it?  What information could be found there?  Will they make it there?

The situation is dire.

Port Nyanzaru has seen strange sights, but the strangest they ever did see was that night with Shep and the wuss as they wiggled the truss, all to the songs of the Bi-Puss-Puss.

Season 3, Episode 19 – The Vault of Wonders27 Aug 201703:47:24

A Strange Introduction

What happens when you get shrunk down in size and have to crawl through the decaying body of a dryad?  Weird, stuff happens; strange and abstract things happen.  It’s hard to comprehend the insanity, it’s probably best that this is an audio medium, because visual treatments would not be sufficient.

This journey through the core of a Fey creature gets strange, and it gets amazing.  Please enjoy the episode, please enjoy one of the wildest crawls through an organic dungeon with an amazing boss fight.

Season 3, Episode 17 – The Vault of Wonders12 Aug 201702:15:04

“If we find ourselves in the future, we’ll just wish ourselves back to the present”

“You know it hurts every time I do that, right?”

Tarek & The Head Smashers make their way back to Mackenzie Mormont, this time with more than just a soul stone in tow.  The Head Smashers are no strangers to dealing with evil artifacts, but this time they are brimming with them.  They also try to figure out where the next target lies, and it looks like it’s going to be a trip to another plane of existence.

This was our 5oth recording for the D&D Podcast, and we are still amazed that it has gone on this long.  A big thank you from the cast for listening to our weird and wild adventures.  We hope it has been fun, and we hope to continue making adventures that you enjoy.

Season 3, Episode 16 – The Vault of Wonders06 Aug 201702:00:29

“Hello, old friend”

We were minus one Miles for the session due to VANCAF, but we carried on like the dedicated players we are.  It turns out, that was a giant mistake.  Who knew that Miles/Vondal was the much needed voice of reason in the party.  Things happen in this episode that we thought would ever happen again.  It just goes to show, the Wish spell is both the best and worst things to happen to an adventuring party.  There can be essays written about how Tarek & The Head Smashers use the Wish spell.  For every problem it solves, it creates five new ones.

Remember to let Miles know how much we love him, and how important he is to the group.

Hopefully we’ll return to relative normal insanity when he returns for the next session.

Season 3, Episode 15 – The Vault of Wonders30 Jul 201704:29:19

“I’m tiny Tarek!”

It’s time for more Freaky Friday with Tarek & The Head Smashers.  The Head Smashers are deep inside the Illithid Hive, and they now have a minor to deal with.  Is it okay to actively dungeon crawl with someone who can’t legally drink in most cities?  The Dwarven cities, of course, are excluded.  The hunt for the soul stone continues, and it only gets more dangerous from here on out.  The Illithich knows there are threats on the horizon, and it is preparing.

Will Tarek/Dolus & The Head Smashers succeed?

Season 3, Episode 14 – The Vault of Wonders23 Jul 201703:09:14

“This is how this is supposed to be.”

Tarek & The Head Smashers are venturing into the Underdark.  It is time to face off with some mind flayers, but they are not without help.  Their small guide, Frigg, is an expert in guiding adventurers to and from destinations in the Underdark.  There is a lot of peril to be found in an under ground realm, but their Xvart should carry them safely.

An Illithid hive gets all kind of weird, and the Head Smashers get wrapped up in a lot of weird.  It’s traps, thralls, tricks, and trepidation as the adventurers crawl through the dungeon in search of the Soul Stone of Intelligence.

Season 3, Episode 13 – The Vault of Wonders16 Jul 201702:26:22

“I go in the room.”

“Noooooooo!”

After dealing with The Knife and putting an old foe to rest, Tarek & The Head Smashers are ready for the Underdark.  They run into some difficulties inside the Ruby of Homecoming; things happen when you have pocket dimensions inside other pocket dimensions.

Once they find their way to the Underdark, they must make contact with Mackenzie Mormont’s contact, Frig.  A little Xvart, and expert in scouting out dungeons and tombs inside the Underdark.  He has a lot of information, but a lot of warnings to share as well.  Illithiches are not a thing to take lightly, and The Head Smashers will have a lot to tackle.

The illustrations are still here, for those that are interested, we will release maps and stats for the Ruby of Homecoming and The Emberbeards.

It is the final show down between Tarek & The Head Smashers and The Knife.  Morgrun and Vondal are going to go Dwarf-O a Dwarf-O.  It’s a bearded brawl in the Mithril Hall.  Vondal is trying to settle all his past debts and move past the Knife.

Happy Canada Day to all our Canadian listeners home and abroad.  It is the holiday weekend season for the United States & Canada, what better way to pass the time than by listening to a bunch of adventurers try and smuggle themselves into the Dwarven lands.

Everyone has come a long way since Greenest, and it looks like the past is catching up with Vondal.  How will he tackle the challenges put up by the Knife?  What will he do to save Marek?  How are they going to get into the Mithril City past Dwarven Border security?  Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Season 3, Episode 10 – The Vault of Wonders24 Jun 201702:56:31

Dracoliches, Dracoliches, Make me a Wish

Two stones down, and four to go for Tarek & The Head Smashers.  The group heads back to Baldur’s Gate, and they are making plans for the other Soul Stones.  They’ve attracted the attention of some bounty hunters, intent on collecting the cash reward.  It turns out surly dwarves clerics offer quite the coffer.  It’s an adventure on the run from bounty hunters and soul stones, what are Tarek & The Head Smashers going to do next?

More illustrations from Hakilliana, to better document the adventures the Head Smashers have experienced.  It is a great visual record of the exploits everyone has seen.
