In this episode, I’m sharing a real, raw story straight from the trenches of summer break. After one too many tech-triggered meltdowns (mine and theirs šŸ™ƒ), I snapped—and yanked all screens from the house. No TV, no Switch, no nothing. What started as a last-straw meltdown turned into something that changed our home in ways I never expected.

I’m walking you through:

  • Why I ditched screens cold turkey
  • What the first few days (and meltdowns) were really like
  • The unexpected magic that showed up when boredom hit
  • Why I might never go back—and how you can decide if this is right for your family too

If you’ve ever felt like the referee, the nag, the mom who’s ā€œnot fun anymoreā€ā€¦ this one’s for you. šŸ’›

Let me know your thoughts and tips for reintroducing screens—if you’ve figured out a way that actually works for your family. I’m all ears. šŸ‘‚

Ep 11 | Responsibly Brave: Building a Life That Fits Your Family with Nichole Holze15 Jul 202500:25:30

Come say "hi" on Instagram: @kaylabrint

I’m chatting with someone near and dear to me — my friend Nichole Holze — and y’all, you’re gonna want to take notes.

Nichole is a homeschooling mama, travel content creator, and one of the most intentionally brave women I know. She’s been carving her own path long before it was cool — road-tripping across the country with her two kids, building a business that funds their adventures, and doing it all in a way that actually fits her family’s values.

We talk about:

  • Why homeschooling her way was the key to everything — and how it’s a metaphor for doing life your way
  • The idea of being ā€œresponsibly braveā€ — bold with a plan (and a backup)
  • How to tune out the noise and get quiet enough to hear your calling
  • Building a slow, steady business rooted in authenticity and integrity
  • What it means to be a working mom who walks the walk, even when there’s no roadmap

Nichole didn’t go viral. She didn’t stumble into success. She built it, slowly and intentionally — one decision at a time — and her story is one of the most powerful examples I’ve seen of what it means to walk in your calling.

Ep 10 | Letting Go of What No Longer Serves You (Even When It’s Hard)08 Jul 202500:20:17

In this episode of The Deviled Egg Society, I’m pouring a glass of wine and pulling back the curtain on what’s really been going on in my heart this year: learning to let go of things that no longer serve me.

Ā It hasn’t been easy—and I’m still very much in the thick of it—but I’m sharing the signs that helped me identify what needed to go, the different areas of life I’m evaluating, and the exact process I’m using to move forward with peace.
Ā If something in your life is feeling heavy lately, this one’s for you.

🧹 Categories to Evaluate

You’ll hear me walk through these six areas where we can all pause and ask: ā€œIs this still serving me?ā€

  • Physical spaces (clutter, old hobbies, that jacket from 1997 šŸ˜‰)
  • Digital clutter (photos, apps, storage, inboxes)
šŸ‘‰ I talk more about this in the previous episode – don’t miss it!
  • Time commitments (roles, routines, responsibilities that were for a past season)
  • Relationships (friendships or dynamics that feel draining rather than life-giving)
  • Mindsets (perfectionism, scarcity, comparison)
  • Habits (late nights, people pleasing, skipping your morning routine… calling myself out!)

🧭 The 5-Step ā€œBless & Releaseā€ Process

Here’s the process I use when it’s time to let something go:

  1. Identify it – Name it honestly.
  2. Acknowledge it – It did serve you once.
  3. Decide – Is it helping you become who you’re called to be now?
  4. Release – Let it go with peace (pray about it, journal, etc.).
  5. Replace – Make room for what will serve you in this new season.

šŸ’¬ Journal Prompt

Here’s your reflection for the week:

What is one thing you’re holding onto right now that might not be serving you anymore? What would it feel like to gently let that go?

šŸ’”And yes—"terrifying" is a valid first answer.

Write it down. Then come back to it the next day and see what new feelings come up. Is there any excitement on the other side of that fear?

Thank you so much for being here, for showing up, and for being brave enough to reevaluate what’s in your life right now.
Ā As I said at the end... I’m somewhere between screaming and laughing on this roller coaster ride—and I’m so glad we’re on it together. šŸ’›

Ep 9 | Cleaning Up My Phone to Clear My Mind01 Jul 202500:11:48

šŸŽ™ Episode Title: Declutter Your Phone, Discover Your Purpose

šŸ“² Follow along on Instagram: @kaylabrint

Y’all… I’m on a journey to walk in my calling, and something that keeps coming up over and over again is how cluttered and distracted I feel—especially when it comes to my phone. In this episode, I’m breaking down the five major areas of digital clutter that have been stealing my peace and how I’m taking my phone back one step at a time.

I’m talkin’:

  • āœ‰ļø Deleting 4,000+ unread emails (yes, really)
  • šŸ’¬ Cleaning out my text messages
  • šŸ“ø Backing up 30,000 photos and 3,000 videos šŸ˜…
  • šŸ“‡ Updating old contacts (including one wild story about an ex from high school)
  • šŸ“± Reviewing every single app before moving to my new iPhone

This is about so much more than organizing a phone—it’s about creating margin to hear from the Lord, be more present, and finally get clear on what I’m truly called to do.

Ep 8 | You Need A Hobby (And So Do I)24 Jun 202500:13:32

šŸŽ™ Episode 8: You Need a Hobby (And So Do I)

In last week’s episode, I talked about the journey of finding your calling — and y’all, this week I’m diving into something that’s surprisingly connected:

šŸ‘‰ Having a dang hobby.

Not a hustle.
Ā Not something that checks a box.
Ā But something you do just because you love it.

And here’s the truth… I don’t have one right now.
Ā I’ve spent so much time building a business, raising kids, and doing all the things that somewhere along the way… I forgot to make time for me.

In this episode, I’m sharing:

  • Why I believe hobbies are a huge part of reconnecting with your purpose
  • The productivity trap that made me push hobbies aside
  • And the 3 steps I’m taking right now to finally find a hobby again

Whether you’ve got a hobby you love or you feel like you’ve lost yourself a little — this episode is for you.

Walking in Your Calling (Even When It Feels Muddy)

Y’all… this one’s been on my heart for a long time.

I’m diving into something that’s felt so heavy for me lately—and that’s figuring out my actual calling. Not just what I can do or what I’ve built a business around… but what I’m meant to do. What makes me come alive. What I was put on this earth to do that makes a real impact.

I’ve taken the courses, read the books, prayed the prayers—and yet, it still feels muddy.

In this episode, I’m sharing:

  • What growing up as a people-pleaser has to do with calling in adulthood
  • Why this year has me taking a BIG step back to reevaluate everything
  • The three steps I’m taking right now to figure out where God is leading me
  • And the people online who are inspiring the heck outta me right now just by being themselves

If you’ve ever felt like you're meant for more but you're not sure what ā€œmoreā€ even looks like—you are not alone. I'm right there with you.

🌟 A few people I mention in this episode:

  • Brunch with Babs – if you know, you know. I could listen to her talk about tinfoil hacks and salad dressing all day. 🄹
  • John Mark Enterprises – the man makes FLORALS and BOWS and inspires me to live with more joy and color. I adore him.
  • A random woman fishing in a boat who gets paid to be herself—and I couldn’t be happier for her 😭

šŸŽÆ Here's what I'm doing next (and maybe you can, too):

  1. Interviewing people who are fully walking in their calling. I want to know how they got there, how they knew, and what it looks like behind the scenes.
  2. Getting honest with God. Like, really honest. Bold prayers, tough questions, the whole thing.
  3. Following and learning from people who are doing what they love—and doing it well. If they’re in their lane and loving it, I want to take notes.

If you’re in this same season—figuring it out, praying through it, or just trying to find the thing—this episode is for you. And if you know someone I should talk to (or interview on the podcast), send this to them. Let’s all learn from each other. šŸ¤

DM me if this resonated with you. I’d truly love to hear from you.
Ā Love y’all big.

—Kayla

Ep 6 | My Recipe Binder: How I Organize My Recipes Without Losing My Mind03 Jun 202500:11:54

Follow along on Instagram!

Feeding your family is no small task — but having a system can make all the difference. šŸ½ In this episode, I share my recipe binder method — how I track meals, write down modifications, and create a simple system that helps me feed my people well (without pulling my hair out). Plus, I’m talking about my dream of turning it into a family cookbook one day. Practical, purposeful, and a little old-fashioned — just the way I like it.

Ep 5 | Creating Family Traditions Your Kids Will Cherish (And Come Back Home For)27 May 202500:13:54

Follow along on Instagram!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — my biggest dream isn’t about business or money or a nice home. It’s about raising a family that wants to come home. šŸ  In this episode, I’m sharing how we’re building little family traditions now that create a sense of belonging and connection. From dinner table routines to holiday moments, these rhythms may be small, but they shape the soul of our home.

Ep 4 | The Comparison Trap: How to Stop Feeling Behind and Start Living Your Own Story01 May 202500:15:02

Follow along on Instagram!

Let’s get real, friend — comparison is everywhere. We used to compare ourselves to the family next door… now it’s the whole internet. In this episode, I’m breaking down the difference between healthy vs. harmful comparison, why social media makes us feel like we’re behind, and how to anchor in truth instead of feelings. If you’ve been feeling ā€œnot enough,ā€ this episode is for you. ā¤ļø
