EP 123: Dr. Jerrod Brown's profile of serial killer HH Holmes!03 Sep 202201:02:20

 Herman Webster Mudgett, AKA Henry Howard Holmes (HH Holmes), is one of America's first noted serial killers.  He killed at least 27 women during the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. In addition to murder, Holmes enjoyed performing extreme forms of torture and mutilation on those he lured into his traps. He is perhaps best known for what would later be dubbed the  Murder Castle.

Dr. Jerrod Brown provides a fantastic overview of  HH Holmes, and offers further opportunities to learn more about this case and highlight themes that may be useful for today's Human Services professionals!

Having reportedly victimized hundreds of children in the early 1900's, Albert Fish's abhorrent paraphilic crimes have been the subject of research for the better part of a century.  Presently, much conjecture exist as to whether Fish's crimes were the result of familial mental illness(nature) or environmental abuses suffered as a child(nurture ). Dr. Jerrod Brown provides a fantastic overview of this case, and offers further opportunities to learn more about this case for those who are intrigued.
