Why You Should Launch a Signature Series in 202625 Nov 202500:23:58

In today’s episode of the Creative Edition Podcast, we’re diving into one of the most powerful ways to grow your brand, build trust with your audience, and streamline your content workflow: the signature series.

A signature series is a recurring, themed content format that becomes part of your brand identity. It’s the series your audience starts to recognize immediately—whether it’s your intro music, your color palette, your editing style, or the unique way you tell stories. Think of it as a repeatable content format that showcases your personality, expertise, and creativity… over and over again.

We’ll break down:

✨ What a signature series actually is
Why it’s more than a cute title—and how consistent tone, structure, and visuals make your content recognizable anywhere it shows up.

🌟 Why launching a signature series changes everything
From building brand recognition, to making content easier to produce, to helping you stand out in a crowded creator landscape.

📈 How a signature series boosts engagement and growth
Audiences love repeatable formats. I share the series-style content that has performed best for me—like Seattle in 60 Seconds, which has earned tens of thousands of views, hundreds of shares and saves, and even expanded into multiple themed editions.

🤝 How a series strengthens community and connection
We’ll talk about the psychology behind why audiences come back for episode after episode—and how a series becomes an inside language your community shares.

🧭 How your signature series clarifies your niche and positioning
A great series invites the right followers in, keeps them engaged, and makes your brand instantly memorable.

Plus, I’ll walk you through real numbers from my own signature series—Seattle in 60 Seconds—to show you how a well-executed format can increase reach, shares, saves, and followers.

And to wrap up:
💡 Practical tips for building your own signature series in 2026—from brainstorming formats you can sustain, to naming your series, to designing visual consistency, to using AI tools like ChatGPT to streamline your production process.

If you’re ready to create content with more ease, build a recognizable brand, and connect more deeply with your audience, this episode will help you launch a signature series you can grow with all year long.

5 Tools I use daily/weekly as a content creator 26 Sep 202300:14:15

Today, I dive into the 5 tools I use either daily or weekly as a content creator. It can get overwhelming trying to decide to use which tools to create and organize content. So I hope sharing these 5 tools helps you narrow down or inspires you to try a new tool.

Tool 1: Grammarly
Is a cloud-based typing assistant that reviews spelling, punctuation, grammar, engagement, and more. Still using the free version! I use Grammarly for:

 ·      Blog posts

·      LinkedIn posts

·      Sometimes social media posts

Tool 2: Google Products

·      Episode schedule for the podcast

·      Slides to set priorities on a weekly basis with my virtual assistant

·      I use google presentation to outline my concepts

Tune in for the rest of the tools!

Meet Elise Swopes, OG Instagram Influencer & Sr. Evangelist and Community Advocate at Adobe09 Sep 202500:43:51

In this episode, OG Instagram artist and creator Elise Swopes (on the app since 2011) takes us from her scrappy start—buying an iPhone 4 off Craigslist to her work today as a Senior Adobe Express Evangelist and full-time creative. Elise helped pioneer mobile photography when people still doubted it was “real art,” then turned early momentum into global brand work (yes, including a 2019 Instagram takeover for Jada Pinkett Smith in the Maldives), community initiatives like Sunrise Art Club and Night On The Yard, and a career focused on creativity, impact, and mental wellness.

We dig into:

  • Start vs. now: how a college dropout with no gear built a sustainable creative business, learned to say no, and defined success beyond algorithms.
  • Signature style: surreal cityscapes, nature mash-ups, and the beloved giraffe motif—and how audience feedback shaped her visual language.
  • Adobe in her workflow: growing up on Illustrator and Photoshop, animating with After Effects, podcasting with Audition, cutting with Premiere Pro, everyday color + catalog in Lightroom Mobile, and why Photoshop on iPhone (free!) and Adobe Express (brand kits, quick actions, Clip Maker for auto-highlights) are now staples. She also shares how Firefly’s commercially safe generative AI lets her test surreal concepts before building them.
  • Creator longevity: diversify revenue, treat yourself like a business, protect your boundaries, and build community—the constant through every platform shift.
  • Mindset & wellbeing: meditation streaks, new running goals, and stepping away to live life so the ideas return stronger.

If you need a push to start with what you have—or permission to double down on what’s working—this conversation is exactly what you need.

If you’re tuning in for the first time, I’m currently doing a solo series for the next few weeks called the Creative Reflection Series. The purpose of the Creative Reflection Series is to help you take the time to think and reflect about your creative career, passions, side-hustles, etc. so far.

So, if you feel like you’re ready for the next step in your creative pursuits or you’re feeling stuck and not sure where to turn next, this series is for you. I hope the different questions and exercises in the next few weeks help you find your next step or help you recognize how you’ve grown as a creator.

Today, we’re going to be discussing the different ways you can grow your career as a content creator/creative. Content creation can launch your career and help you take the next step in your long-term career goals.

But what is possible for a creator and influencer? The truth is: anything is possible. But today I want to share 8 different ways you can allow yourself to dream and build your career as a creative.

Creative Reflection Series: Am I allowing myself to be creative?15 Aug 202300:12:28

Today, we’re asking you the question: Am I allowing myself to be creative?

Creativity isn’t just about being able to paint, draw, create jewelry, design rooms, or sculpt pottery.

Creativity is much broader than that. Creativity can be recognizing, identifying, and developing new ideas or solutions. It can be a form of artistic creation. It can be a physical product. But it can also be a new business, a new way of approaching old problems (like methods or processes), or even fusing cuisine together.

Creative Reflection Series: Am I listening to myself or outside voices?08 Aug 202300:24:39

If you’re tuning in for the first time, I’m currently doing a solo series for the next few weeks called the Creative Reflection Series. The purpose of the Creative Reflection Series is to help you take the time to think and reflect about your creative career, passions, side-hustles, etc. so far.

I hope the different questions and exercises in the next few weeks help you find your next step or help you recognize how you’ve grown as a creator.

Today’s conversation has three main parts:

  • Part 1: We’ll be chatting about examples of choosing to listen to outside voices instead of listening to yourself, your intuition, your soul, or whatever you want to call it.
  • Part 2: We’ll be chatting about how to quiet those outside voices and to start learning how to listen to your own voice and intuition.
  • Part 3: Reflect on ways when you have listened to your intuition.

Creative Reflection Series: Am I giving myself the permission to evolve?01 Aug 202300:20:11

The purpose of the Creative Reflection Series is to help you take the time to think and reflect about your creative career, passions, side-hustles, etc. so far. Personally, I’ve found the next step in my creative career when I’ve taken the time to reflect. I’ve also found that I’ve accomplished more than I realized when I’ve taken the time to think about how I’ve grown or am growing as a creator.

So, if you feel like you’re ready for the next step in your creative pursuits or you’re feeling stuck and not sure where to turn next, this series is for you. I hope the different questions and exercises in the next few weeks help you find your next step or help you recognize how you’ve grown as a creator.

Today, we’re going to be asking you the question: “are you giving yourself permission to evolve?”

I wanted to start the series off with this question because evolving as a creator is almost inevitable. And if we feel like we aren’t evolving or moving forward, we might be feeling stuck. We might need to change up our routine, approach our processes differently, or maybe even try a completely different platform.

So today’s conversation has three main parts:

  1. We’ll be chatting about ways you might want to evolve as a creator.
  2. Next, we’ll be discussing how you can give yourself permission to evolve.
  3. Lastly, I’ll be sharing a few ways I’ve evolved as a creator over the last few years.

Mini-sode: Is it time for a social media break?25 May 202300:13:19

Today, we’re chatting about a few signs that might be time for a social media break. As a full-time content creator, it probably sounds ironic that I advocate to take time off social media. But taking time off is healthy. I take time off and in fact, I’m planning on taking at least three months off with maternity leave coming up.

Here are 4 signs that it might be time you need to take a social media break:

1.     You’re in the comparison game

2.     You’re consistently feeling disappointment or discouragement after posting online

3.     You’re feeling like you’re spending too much time on social media

4.     You’re experiencing negative emotions like anxiety, loneliness, or anger after being online

How Content Creators & Influencers Can Stay Relevant With The Rise of AI Influencers26 Aug 202500:18:41

As AI influencers gain traction, many creators are wondering: Where do we fit into the future of brand partnerships and content creation?

In this episode, I'm breaking down how human influencers can stay competitive—and even thrive—as AI avatars and virtual creators become more common.

You’ll learn:

  • Why relatability, storytelling, and real-life experience will always win over algorithms
  • How to focus on building community—not just an audience

My 5 Daily Habits for a Balanced Life23 May 202300:26:10

Today, I’m sharing 5 daily habits I do to create and maintain a balanced, creative life. Personally, I’ve gone through various life stages and milestones while trying to balance a creative side-hustle and now a full-time career. I wanted to share the 5 key things that have helped me stay balanced as I side-hustled, gotten engaged, then married, and now preparing for my first child.

In this conversation, I do a deep dive into: Reflection

Learning how to listen to my intuition and check in with myself is one of the most important things I’ve learned so far.

As someone who is motivated to achieve, adding reflection to my daily routine has helped me immensely. Learning how to give myself time and ask myself questions like:

·      Why is this important to me?

·      Does this create opportunity?

·      Am I happy?

·      How do I feel about x,y, or z?

Has helped me look back at the life I’ve lived so far, learn, and make better decisions for my future.

Mini-sode: How I stay motivated as a full time creator 18 May 202300:11:33

Today, I’ll be chatting about a few ways that help me stay motivated as a content creator. Currently, I’m experiencing a new season life – I’m currently in my third trimester of pregnancy and creating content + maintaining a schedule + staying motivated has looked different for me.

So, I hope chatting about how I stay motivated today helps give your ideas on you can also stay motivated with your side-hustle or passions, regardless of what life stage or transition you’re in.

 I revisit my goals often.

If you listen to the podcast or follow me on social media, you know that I’m a goal-oriented person. I love outlining my goals every year and laying out my to-do list daily.

Tip: if you’re looking to revisit your goals, I recommend writing and keeping your goals in a place (your planner, word document, blog post, etc.) you can revisit them often.

Mini-sode: How I'm preparing for maternity leave11 May 202300:13:43

Today, I’m chatting about how I’m preparing for maternity leave as a freelancer, content creator, full-time influencer. One thing I feel like we can all benefit from is talking about how to prepare for a leave of absence. Whether you want to plan a long vacation, a sabbatical, or you’re expecting a child, it can be helpful to create your plan ahead of time.

One way I’m preparing for maternity leave as a full-time content creator is preparing:
My finances

One of the biggest ways I’ve planned for maternity leave is saving for my own personal maternity leave. The U.S. doesn’t have any federal laws regarding paid leave for parents. And as a freelancer, I don’t qualify for any FMLA in Washington State.

Mini-sode: How I create content consistently with limited energy (a.k.a during pregnancy)04 May 202300:11:21

Are you looking for ways to create content consistently, but you’ve been battling with limited time or energy? I’m right there with you. At 26 weeks pregnancy (as I recorded this), I’ve been dealing with the ebb and flows of energy. I want to continue to keep creating content for the blog, podcast, and my social media channels, but sometimes I just don’t have the energy.

One thing I've done during my pregnancy:

I removed the pressure to need to post every single day – I don’t have the energy for it, and I’ve accepted that.

For many years, I demanded that I post every single day on Instagram, every other day on TikTok, and/or publish a new blog post each week. I’m not there anymore and that’s okay. It’s been helpful for me to remove that pressure and expectation.

Mini-sode: Refreshing my Media Kit for 202320 Apr 202300:14:00

I completely redesign my media kit this year and quarter. If you’re looking to refresh your media kit, this podcast episode is for you.

 What is a media kit?

A media kit is essentially a resume of who you are as a brand. Your media kit should you pull in all your social media, blog, podcast, and web platforms. Your media kit can also include audience demographics as well as previous brand partners or clients you’ve worked with.

How often should you be refreshing your media kit?

You can refresh your media kit as often as you’d like. But I recommend either updating your media kit either once a month or once a quarter.

Tune in to hear everything I refreshed on my media kit!
