This weeks episode is one from the archives, a discussion with Nick Winkelman. Nick is the head of athletic performance & science for the Irish Rugby Football Union. His primary role is to oversee the delivery and development of strength & conditioning and sports science across all national and provincial teams. Prior to working for Irish Rugby, Nick was the director of education and training systems for EXOS. Nick completed his PhD with a dissertation focus on motor skill learning and sprinting. Nick is an internationally recognized speaker on human performance and coaching science and has multiple peer reviewed publications and book chapters alongside his own book, The Language of Coaching: The Art & Science of Teaching Movement.

The guest for this episode is Paul McGuinness.

Paul is a former footballer who played in the Football League for Crewe Alexandra and Chester City. But most notable Paul is known for his time with Manchester United, having played a key role in building their world leading academy, including a period between 2005 and 2016 he has been manager of Manchester United's under-18 team. Paul is also the son of former Manchester United player and manager Wilf McGuinness, holds a degree in physical education gained from Loughborough University.

Jordan is a Sports Scientist specialising in skill acquisition and coach and athlete development. Jordan's work is aimed at supporting coaches to best support their players and athletes.

Jordan has worked across a number of sports across the globe including with the Hong Kong National Rugby Union Team as a strength and conditioning coach and then working as a sport scientist. Jordan is currently conducting research in skill acquisition and coaching at Queensland University of Technology, while working as a coach and player development consultant for clubs and schools across Queensland.
