Why did you want to do this webinar?

The adult content space is ever changing, and COVID- 19 has dramatically changed how performers view their home-produced content. Developing the skills to produce high quality content can liberate creators from economic uncertainty and eliminate their dependence on professional studios who operate within a narrow view of what adult content should be and what it should look like.

I truly believe anyone can have a thriving career in adult entertainment if they cultivate their creative skills and learn to treat their business like a business. The adult entertainment industry has given me a life I could have NEVER imagined for myself, and I am ever grateful to C4S for giving amateurs a space to build their businesses. It is a privilege and joy to share the knowledge that I have gathered over the last seven years of my career with my fellow SWers.

Clips4Sale Legal Zone Series #12: SBA Loans (COVID-19) & the Adult Industry, AB 2389 Sex Worker Permit Bill, and the EARN IT Act

Clips4Sale is excited to bring you another installment of “The Clips4Sale Legal Zone, with Neil and attorney Corey D. Silverstein” – from Monday, May 18th at 4 pm EST. We welcomed back our recurring special guest, attorney Lawrence Walters.

Neil is the founder and leader of Clips4Sale, the industry’s most long-standing and successful space to sell clips online. Corey is the industry’s premiere IT attorney, representing community members from all corners of the space. Together, they will break down relevant legal issues shaping the adult industry – and your business – today, with a live Q&A occurring throughout.

During this episode, we gave some updates on SBA loans as related to COVID-19 and the adult industry. This included discussion of two injunctions that have issued against the SBA in cases brought by community businesses.

We had an update on AB 2389, California’s controversial Sex Worker Permit bill. For those who may not recall, this bill would prohibit adult entertainers and/or performers from working at an adult entertainment business or content production unless they have received a certificate of training completion regarding their employment rights, as specified.

According to Corey, AB 2389 “does seem to be dead for now. The adult industry didn’t beat this thing though – COVID-19 beat it.” This does not indicate the bill is truly off the table.

New for this discussion was the use of drugs and/or alcohol on set pre, during, and after shoots, as well as during live broadcasts. We also discussed the EARN IT Act – or, the Eliminating Abusive and Rampant Neglect of Interactive Technologies Act — which “would create incentives for companies to ‘earn’ liability protection for violations of laws related to online child sexual abuse material (CSAM).” If passed, the government could require adult content moderation policies and prohibit encryption in order for online platforms to retain their current immunity.

According to Larry, the EARN IT Act, “has some support and the consequences could be devastating if passed. Much like FOSTA, the time to pay attention is before this stuff passes.”

We discussed many topics including how to price the content, best length of clip to produce, and ways to use online forums to help with traffic and sales. In the Clip Zone - I spent some time with Phil Simmons from FTKL Foot Tickling Fantasies – Store #29443. Phil is a great guy and I found out today that he lives a few miles from me. He has been on Clips4Sale since 2009 and has over 3000 clips which are all related to tickling as you might already know by the name of his studio. We talked about best dates and times to add new clips as well as new features coming to Clips4Sale. We also discussed piracy and ways that Clips4Sale will be going after free sites and pirate sites. I also showed him new ways to use the search pages to better market his content. It was great to go back in time with Phil and reminisce about the early days of the internet. In the Clip Zone - We spoke with Felicia from Hit the Mat Boxing and Wrestling – Store #11587. Her studio has been on Clips4Sale since 2007 – WOW! 12 yrs and counting. Felicia has great unique content that not everyone can produce. Great production quality that indeed takes time to produce. We went over piracy issues as well as some new features coming to Clips4Sale. Felicia already uses the new search page and is quite proficient with it. I wish I could teach her new tricks, but she is already all over it. We spoke to her about new tools we are working on and ways she can promote her studio using forums. I also discussed ways to make sure her content appears during searches using our new advanced search. We had a great time chatting with Eve and can’t wait to hear from her in the near future about how the things we discussed helped increase her sales. In the Clip Zone - I had the pleasure of speaking to Goddess Brandon (Goddess B) – Store #20178. We go way back with Goddess Brandon and it’s always fun to catch up with her and chat about what’s new in the Goddess B world. Starting with Clips4Sale in 2008, Goddess Brandon has been consistently uploading new content to the tune of over 3100 clips in her main studio. We spoke about establishing credit so that when your wanting to buy a car, a house, or anything else that you are prepared. We also discussed investing in your future… anyone starting out today should learn from this and start putting money away for their future!! I also showed Goddess Brandon the new search pages and it just blew her away. I introduced her to forums in order for her to reach out to new customers. So much was learned in today’s webinar. In the Clip Zone - We spoke to Sexy Saffron – Store #74849 and her partner Dennis, who come to us from beautiful Montreal, Canada. We went over ways Clips4Sale will be innovating in the future. Also possibly accepting bitcoin in the near future. Saffron and Dennis had lots of ideas about this and ways to allow countries who block Clips4Sale to come in and buy using Bitcoin. We also went over ways to use specific forums to gain more consumers as well as using the new search to show them how to make links based on keywords, categories, and filters. In the Clip Zone - We had the pleasure of speaking with Carla Cain from Store #100953. Carla recently moved from the Florida area to the North Western U.S. and is loving it. We spoke about how often she needs to add new clips… Carla has not updated her store since April and we explained to her that it’s key to add a new clip at least once a week if at all possible. We discussed how forums can help her with content ideas as well as gaining new customers. We went over the best ways to trade content with other models / producers so that everyone wins in the end.
