Failure Is Not Your Identity: Daniel Lubetzky on Building, Self-Worth, and Grace10 Sep 202600:22:30

What motivates a builder after the company is built, the money has been made, and the world already

calls the journey successful?

Daniel Lubetzky - founder of KIND Snacks and Builders Movement, founder and chairman of Camino

Partners, full-time Shark on ABC's Shark Tank, and host of Build or Break - joins CJ Moneyway for a

conversation about purpose beyond achievement.

Daniel shares why builders are driven by problems worth solving and by the creative process of making

something useful and beautiful. He traces his leadership growth from personally handling every job to

finding people better than him, giving them real ownership, and learning when a founder must step back.

The conversation then moves into failure intelligence. Daniel explains why a humbling setback can make

a talented leader more introspective, hungry, and effective. He and CJ discuss the difference between

experiencing failure and actually learning how to use it.

In the episode's most personal section, Daniel separates external loss from personal worth. Builders may

mourn, cry, struggle, and doubt themselves. But pain must not become identity. The work is to learn the

lesson, treat people with kindness, give yourself grace, and return to the build.

Daniel also introduces the Four C's of a builder's mind - curiosity, compassion, creativity, and courage -

and explains how people who have faced discrimination or limited access can turn those pressures into

empathy, resourcefulness, grit, and strategic advantage.

PAGE 4CJ MONEYWAY MEDIA(TM) | PODCAST EDITORIAL INTELLIGENCE

The episode closes with the foundation beneath the accomplishments: family, kindness, and the example

of Daniel's father, a Holocaust survivor who endured one of history's hardest chapters without

surrendering his humanity.

Failure becomes intelligence only after reflection changes the next decision.

External success and personal worth must never become the same measurement.

A builder may pause, mourn, and doubt without giving up the right to begin again.

Family provides a form of love that does not depend on the next deal or achievement.

Kindness is not separate from legacy; it is one of the clearest ways legacy is lived.

Deep Story: Bob Rogers on Creating Experiences That Change People08 Sep 202600:50:31

What separates a story people enjoy from an experience that changes what they do?

In this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with Bob Rogers, founder of BRC Imagination

Arts and author of Deep Story: A Complete Guide to Creating Transformational Visitor Attractions.

The CJ Moneyway Show(TM) | Built For Purpose(TM) | Internal Production Record | 3CJ MONEYWAY MEDIA(TM) | PODCAST EDITORIAL INTELLIGENCE & RELEASE

Drawing from a career that began with magic and grew into more than four decades of story-driven

experience design, Bob explains why the most meaningful work begins in the heart of the audience - not

in the creator's clever idea or the newest technology.

Bob breaks down the difference between getting attention and changing identity, the emotional trigger

that connects an audience to a brand or subject, the danger of choosing tools before defining the task,

and the power of a single governing idea to align architects, writers, filmmakers, executives, and

technical teams. He also discusses the ethical responsibility attached to storytelling, the limits and

promise of artificial intelligence, and the long work of building a company that can continue beyond its

founder.

CJ connects Bob's lessons to the Brick by Brick journey and his own keynote principle: AI is the mirror,

not the master. Together, they explore how clarity, empathy, discipline, and responsibility turn creative

ideas into experiences that move people toward lasting action.

Deep Story is scheduled for official release on September 8, 2026. Visit BobRogers.com to learn more

and BRCWeb.com to explore BRC Imagination Arts.

Episode key takeaways

Show business works when the show produces a meaningful business or behavioral outcome.

Changing behavior often requires changing how people see themselves.

The audience must recognize something of itself in the subject or brand.

Clever creative work fails when people remember the spectacle but forget the product, subject, or

purpose.

Storytelling techniques can influence people for good or harm; creators must use them responsibly.

Leaders should define the exact change before choosing design, technology, format, or content.

The strongest central idea eliminates creative chaos by guiding thousands of downstream decisions.

AI may accelerate production, but human judgment still determines what should be made and why.

Founders must begin succession long before they are ready to leave; the transcript's full lesson is

pending the missing second half.

Clarity Beats Cleverness: Amber Gaige's Four C's of Marketing04 Sep 202600:33:29

Most business owners do not need more marketing noise. They need a message people understand, a brand people recognize, a clear picture of the customer they serve, and a channel that can produce results repeatedly.

In this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show(TM), CJ sits down with Amber Gaige, a third-generation entrepreneur, international bestselling author, Certified StoryBrand Guide, and founder of Far Beyond Marketing. Amber's entrepreneurial education started at eight years old, when her parents turned a request for a puppy into her first lesson in borrowing, selling, marketing, and paying back a business loan with interest.

After earning a classical music degree and performing in Europe, Amber returned to her family's plumbing, HVAC, and electrical businesses. There, marketing was not theoretical: if the phone did not ring, people could lose work. That pressure taught her to track results, hold vendors accountable, communicate return on investment, and simplify marketing for operators who do not have time or money to waste.

Amber walks CJ through the Four C's of Effective Marketing - Clear Copy, Consistent Branding, Customer Demographics, and Channel Management - and explains why clarity must come before cleverness. The conversation also explores women in male-dominated industries, AI-assisted lead generation, StoryBrand, website ownership, business systems, and what makes a company attractive to a buyer.

What You'll Learn

• Why a customer should understand what you do and how they benefit almost immediately
• How inconsistent logos, colors, fonts, and messaging weaken brand recognition
• Why marketing to the wrong audience wastes money, even when the content looks good
• How channel management turns one-time customers into repeatable revenue opportunities
• Why documented systems, clean books, and repeatable lead generation matter before a sale
• How StoryBrand positions the customer as the hero and the company as the guide
• Why AI performs best when human judgment gives it clear direction
• How faith, respect, hospitality, and service can become operating values - not just brand language

Guest Bio

When Every Choice Has a Cost: Brad C. Anderson on Wisdom, Power, and Uncertainty02 Sep 202600:50:04

Every decision costs something. The hardest decisions are not between good and bad—they are between competing responsibilities, limited resources, uncertain outcomes, and values we do not want to surrender.

In this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with Dr. Brad C. Anderson, a Canadian science-fiction author, university business educator, former biotechnology professional, and organizational-wisdom researcher. Brad explains how his seemingly different worlds all examine the same question: How do people and institutions make sound decisions when knowledge is not enough?

Brad shares what science fiction taught him about imagining life beyond the rules of the ordinary world, what biotechnology revealed about the tension between scientific excellence and business reality, and why the strongest organizations combine different forms of expertise instead of allowing one discipline to dominate.

The conversation moves into the heart of Brad’s research: knowledge may be necessary, but it becomes insufficient when we do not know enough, when what we believe is wrong, or when two valid facts point toward conflicting actions. Through examples involving quality, budgets, healthcare risk, vaccines, and organizational constraints, Brad shows why wise leadership requires more than having information—it requires navigating trade-offs.

CJ and Brad also explore why life is governed by probabilities rather than guarantees, how lost trust changes decision-making, and why values, rationality, and power must be examined together. The result is a thoughtful but practical conversation for entrepreneurs, executives, educators, creators, and anyone responsible for making decisions that affect other people.

Because sometimes the challenge is not finding the right answer. It is deciding what cost you are willing to carry—and acting with wisdom when no perfect answer exists.

In this episode, you’ll learn

• Why science fiction can strengthen strategic imagination
• How disciplinary arrogance weakens organizations
• Why knowledge alone cannot resolve complex trade-offs
• The difference between certainty and probability
• How trust shapes whether people accept expert guidance
• Why values, rationality, and power belong in the same decision framework
• How constraints determine what is ethically practical

Episode key takeaways

• Humility is a strategic capability: your expertise is one piece of the puzzle, not the entire puzzle.
• A fact can be true and still be insufficient to determine what should happen next.
• Wise decisions reconcile competing truths under real constraints.
• Good behavior improves probability; it does not guarantee outcome.
• Leaders damage trust when they communicate probability as certainty.
• Values without power remain intentions; power without values can become manipulation.
• The practical question is not only ‘What is right?’ but ‘What is ethically achievable here?’

After 43 years of marriage, Doug Lawrence lost his beloved wife and entered a season that changed his understanding of grief, mental health and purpose.

In this deeply personal conversation, Doug explains why telling his wife’s story became part of his healing, how unresolved losses can accumulate and why asking for help should never be mistaken for weakness. From BBC Comedy to Ancient Myth: Myron Edwards and the Story Behind Mistress of the Rock22 Aug 202600:29:24

What Happens When a Place Refuses to Leave Your Imagination?

Sometimes a story begins with an idea.

Sometimes it begins with a character.

And sometimes it begins with a place.

For author Myron Edwards, a journey to Aphrodite’s Rock on the island of Cyprus became the creative spark behind Mistress of the Rock—a mythological novel bringing ancient legend into a modern story involving love, war, trauma, obsession, possession, and redemption.

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with Myron to explore not simply the book, but the creative life that eventually produced it.

Myron’s journey has moved through television comedy, advertising, international travel, media, and publishing. His earlier writing includes work connected with the legendary BBC comedy program The Two Ronnies. Over time, his storytelling evolved from the economy and wit of comedy and advertising into longer, emotionally layered fiction.

And then Cyprus gave him another story to tell.

IN THIS EPISODE

CJ and Myron explore:

• Myron’s evolution as a lifelong creative

• His experience writing in television and advertising

• The transition from comedy writing into fiction

• How international travel influenced his storytelling

• The experience that sparked Mistress of the Rock

• Why Cyprus became more than simply a setting

• The influence of Aphrodite and ancient Greek mythology

• Bringing ancient mythology into a contemporary narrative

• Writing about war trauma, obsession, love, and redemption

• The discipline required to sustain a creative life

• How writers transform experiences into stories

• What Myron wants readers to experience through his work

THE BIGGER MONEYWAY LESSON

A creative life rarely moves in a perfectly straight line.

The work you did ten years ago may prepare you for something you have not imagined yet.

The place you visit today may become tomorrow’s story.

The experiences that appear disconnected can eventually reveal themselves as pieces of the same journey.

That is one of the deeper principles behind this conversation:

Nothing meaningful has to be wasted when you learn how to turn experience into purpose.

Brick by Brick.

ABOUT MYRON EDWARDS

Myron Edwards is a writer and storyteller whose creative career has included television, advertising, travel, media, and fiction.

His work evolved from comedy writing associated with BBC television and The Two Ronnies into long-form fiction influenced by history, mythology, place, and human experience.

He is the author of Mistress of the Rock, a mythological novel inspired by Aphrodite’s Rock and the island of Cyprus.

Clarity Over Comfort: Shane Ramer on Sobriety, Masculinity & Leadership17 Aug 202600:41:36

Clarity Over Comfort

What changes when a man stops using alcohol to escape—and begins confronting his life with clarity?

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with Shane Ramer, host of That Sober Guy Podcast, for a transparent conversation about sobriety, masculinity, faith, family, accountability, leadership, and the courage required to ask for help.

Shane shares how alcohol became a coping mechanism for stress, relationships, responsibility, and the pressures of life. After trying to quit on his own, he reached a moment of surrender: he recognized that asking for help did not make him weak or a failure.

It allowed him to begin rebuilding.

Nearly thirteen years later, Shane describes a life centered on his faith, wife, children, service to other men, and the daily practices that protect his sobriety and clarity.

This conversation moves beyond the idea that sobriety is only about what someone stops doing.

It explores what becomes possible afterward.

In this episode

CJ and Shane discuss:

  • Recognizing when alcohol is subtracting from your life
  • Using alcohol as an escape from unresolved problems
  • Why surrendering to God is different from giving up
  • The difference between religion and a relationship with God
  • Why men need trustworthy relationships
  • Shane’s experience with Twelve Step recovery
  • Recovery stigma and the men who will never enter a traditional meeting
  • Why connection is essential to overcoming addiction
  • What clarity makes possible in leadership and business
  • How better sleep, nutrition, exercise, support, and community affect performance
  • Replacing immediate gratification with long-term discipline
  • Learning to have authentic fun without alcohol
  • Why environments sometimes must change before behavior can change
  • The consequences a man’s decisions can create for his family
  • Why asking for help is not a sign of weakness
  • The danger of victim mentality
  • What intentional leadership looks like
  • The biggest lie men believe about alcohol

The bigger Moneyway lesson

Alcohol may temporarily change how someone feels, but it does not resolve what remains underneath.

The unresolved relationship is still there.

The financial pressure is still there.

The fear is still there.

The responsibility is still there.

And when the temporary escape ends, those problems often return with additional consequences.

Shane’s journey demonstrates that clarity does not instantly repair every part of life. It gives a man the ability to see what requires repair—and the capacity to begin doing the work.

That work requires faith.

It requires support.

It requires repetition.

It requires accountability.

And it requires the willingness to make the next right decision, even when nobody is applauding.

That is clarity over comfort.

That is Built For Purpose.

About Shane Ramer

Shane Ramer is the host of That Sober Guy Podcast and the founder of the Victory Circle, a free online community supporting men who want to live without alcohol.

Drawing from his own experience with addiction, Twelve Step recovery, faith, mentorship, marriage, fatherhood, and nearly thirteen years of sobriety, Shane helps men pursue greater clarity, responsibility, connection, and personal leadership.

Different Minds Build Different Worlds: J.M. Shaw on Autism, ADHD & Fantasy Storytelling14 Aug 202600:25:02

Different Minds Build Different Worlds

What happens when fantasy becomes more than escape?

What happens when the worlds an author creates become places where identity, difference, strength, fear, belonging, and human struggle can be explored without limits?

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with Canadian fantasy author J.M. Shaw, a neurodivergent storyteller, mother, martial artist, psychology enthusiast, and creator of the Callum Walker series.

J.M. has built an expansive fantasy universe through:

• Callum Walker: The Fractured Veil

• The Ascension

• The Convergence

• Forsaken Souls

Her stories move through magical wars, fractured realms, supernatural conflict, destiny, power, and survival.

But the deeper story exists beyond the fantasy.

J.M. has spoken openly about autism and ADHD diagnoses within her family and about the way neurodivergence has influenced how she understands herself and the people around her.

That perspective does not simply exist outside her writing.

It helps shape how she sees character, motivation, difference, internal struggle, and strength.

IN THIS EPISODE

CJ and J.M. explore:

• Where her love of storytelling began

• Why fantasy became her creative home

• Building the Callum Walker universe

• The inspiration behind The Fractured Veil

• How autism and ADHD have influenced her creative perspective

• Motherhood and understanding neurodivergence as a family

• Why different minds can bring different strengths to storytelling

• The connection between psychology and character development

• How martial arts informs discipline, conflict, movement, and resilience

• Creating magical wars that reflect recognizable human struggles

• Writing characters who face identity, destiny, fear, and belonging

• The discipline necessary to build a multi-book fantasy saga

• What she hopes readers find inside the worlds she creates

THE BIGGER MONEYWAY LESSON

One of the most important ideas behind this conversation is simple:

Difference is not the absence of ability.

Sometimes the way someone processes the world differently becomes part of the way they contribute something the world has never seen before.

J.M. Shaw’s journey invites us to reconsider the labels we place on people—and the assumptions we make about how intelligence, creativity, discipline, and strength are supposed to look.

Your mind does not have to work like everyone else’s to build something meaningful.

Sometimes the different perspective becomes part of the gift.

That’s Built For Purpose.

ABOUT J.M. SHAW

J.M. Shaw is a Canadian independent fantasy author from Alberta whose creative interests include storytelling, psychology, martial arts, neurodivergence, and the construction of complex fantasy worlds.

She is the creator of the Callum Walker series, which includes The Fractured Veil, The Ascension, The Convergence, and Forsaken Souls.

Permission to Spend: Rethinking Whole Life, Retirement, and Financial Freedom with Tom Wall, Ph.D.12 Aug 202600:31:57

Permission to Spend: Rethinking Whole Life, Retirement, and Financial Freedom with Tom Wall, Ph.D.

What does true financial freedom look like?

For many people, it’s not simply about accumulating wealth—it’s about having the confidence to use it wisely without the fear of running out.

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with Tom Wall, Ph.D., Wealth Strategist, Speaker, and Author of Permission to Spend. With more than two decades of experience helping individuals and families prepare for retirement, Tom shares a practical approach to retirement income planning that challenges conventional financial thinking.

Throughout the conversation, Tom explains why so many retirees remain financially anxious despite having significant savings, how whole life insurance can serve as a strategic financial asset, and why retirement planning should focus on creating dependable income rather than simply growing investment balances.

CJ and Tom also discuss the principles behind Infinite Banking, legal tax-efficient retirement strategies, and the importance of building a financial plan that aligns with your personal goals and values—not fear.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, business owner, professional, or preparing for retirement, this episode offers valuable insights to help you think differently about wealth, security, and long-term financial confidence.

Beyond the Transaction: Debbi DiMaggio on Real Estate, Mindset, Relationships & Legacy10 Aug 202600:35:33

What if the real secret to longevity in real estate isn’t selling more homes—but building relationships people remember long after the transaction is over?

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ Moneyway sits down with Debbi DiMaggio, a top 1.5% Realtor nationwide, four-time author, podcast host, coach, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, for a conversation about real estate, relationships, reinvention, and the mindset required to build a career that lasts.

With more than 30 years of experience, Debbi has guided people through some of life’s biggest transitions—from buying a first home and preparing a property for market to relocating, downsizing, and stepping into an entirely new chapter.

But this conversation is about much more than buying and selling property.

Debbi and CJ explore why real estate is ultimately a people business and why trust, communication, collaboration, accountability, and service can matter just as much as market knowledge.

Debbi shares her perspective on building referral relationships between agents across different markets, helping first-time buyers become better prepared, and understanding the difference between simply listing a home and intentionally positioning it for the market.

The conversation also goes into an often-overlooked part of real estate: the emotions attached to transition.

For seniors, families, and individuals leaving a longtime home, a move can represent far more than a change of address. It can mean letting go of memories, adjusting to a new stage of life, and making difficult decisions during an already emotional season.

That requires more than a real estate professional.

It requires someone who understands people.

CJ and Debbi also discuss mindset, resilience, accountability, reinvention, and legacy—and what decades in business can teach us about staying relevant without losing the relationships and values that built our success in the first place.

IN THIS CONVERSATION

  • Why relationships should outlast the transaction
  • How collaboration and referrals can expand opportunities across markets
  • What first-time homebuyers should understand before entering the market
  • Preparing and positioning a home to sell
  • Why mindset and accountability matter in real estate
  • The emotional realities of downsizing and major life transitions
  • Supporting seniors and families with empathy
  • Reinventing yourself throughout a long career
  • Building a reputation rooted in service, trust, and consistency
  • Why long-term success and legacy are ultimately about people

Debbi DiMaggio’s journey is a reminder that a successful career isn’t measured only by what you sell. It’s also measured by the relationships you build, the people you serve, and the reputation you leave behind.

Listen to this conversation on The CJ Moneyway Show, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and major podcast platforms.

EPISODE KEY TAKEAWAYS

Relationships create longevity. A transaction may introduce two people, but genuine relationship-building can create opportunities for years.

Collaboration expands the table. Real estate professionals don’t always have to compete. Strong referral networks can serve clients while creating opportunities across cities, states, and even international markets.

Preparation matters for buyers. First-time homebuyers benefit from understanding their finances, expectations, and the process before they begin seriously shopping.

Selling requires positioning. Preparing a home for the market means learning to see the property through the eyes of the next buyer.

Mindset affects performance. Accountability, resilience, and the ability to adapt are essential when markets, clients, and circumstances change.

Transitions are emotional. Downsizing, relocating, or leaving a longtime family home can carry significant emotional weight, particularly for seniors and their families.

Reinvention is part of longevity. A long career requires the willingness to evolve while protecting the principles and relationships that established your reputation.

Legacy extends beyond the sale. The deeper measurement of success is often found in how people remember being treated.

Healing With Fire: Zulma Williams on Trauma, Cancer, Depression & Finding Your Voice03 Aug 202600:51:52

What If Healing Doesn’t Mean Pretending It Never Hurt?

Some people talk about transformation after everything has worked out.

Zulma Beatriz Williams talks about it with the scars still visible.

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with Zulma—a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, motivational speaker, founder of Dragonfly Therapy Services, and the unapologetically authentic mental-health professional known as The Swearing Therapist.

Her style may catch people off guard.

She is direct.

She is honest.

And when the moment calls for it, she is not afraid to use language that sounds more like a real conversation than a textbook therapy session.

But underneath the personality is a life shaped by survival, rebuilding, education, service, and transformation.

Zulma began pursuing her social-work education in her forties. She survived breast cancer, continued her education, navigated trauma and depression, and ultimately built a professional life helping others confront the difficult chapters of their own stories.

This conversation isn’t about pretending pain is beautiful.

It’s about what we decide to build after pain enters the story.

IN THIS EPISODE

CJ and Zulma explore:

• The origin of “The Swearing Therapist”
• Why authenticity matters in mental-health conversations
• Beginning a new educational journey later in life
• Surviving breast cancer while continuing to move forward
• Growing up in Buenos Aires and the experiences that shaped her
• Trauma, depression, and rebuilding identity
• The difference between experiencing victimization and building a permanent identity around victimhood
• Why people can become stuck inside trauma narratives
• Reclaiming your voice after difficult experiences
• The meaning behind Dragonfly Therapy Services
• How transformation differs from pretending the past never happened
• Mental-health stigma and why honest language matters
• The responsibility clinicians carry even when their style is unconventional
• What freedom means after rebuilding your life
• Discovering the warrior within

THE MONEYWAY TAKEAWAY

Healing does not require denying the scar.

The scar proves something happened.

But it does not get to decide everything that happens next.

Zulma’s story raises an important question:

Can we acknowledge what happened to us without surrendering the authorship of what happens after it?

That distinction matters.

Because surviving is one chapter.

Rebuilding is another.

And eventually, some people reach the chapter where what they learned becomes service for somebody else.

That’s transformation.

Brick by Brick.

The Economy of the Heart: How Love and Leadership Build Profitable Cultures | Hanna Bauer31 Jul 202600:42:56

Can compassion actually make an organization more profitable?

Leadership strategist Hanna Bauer says yes — and she has the track record to argue it.

Hanna is the Founder and CEO of HEARTnomics, a certified trainer with the John Maxwell Team, DISC, and the Ziglar Legacy programs. After serious health challenges reshaped how she saw work and worth, she built a leadership philosophy she calls the Economy of the Heart — the conviction that healthy cultures are constructed on purpose, through trust, empathy, accountability, and genuine care for people.

In this conversation she and CJ Moneyway get into burnout, resilience, servant leadership, and why leading with heart isn’t softness — it’s a competitive advantage most organizations still leave on the table.

Building profitable cultures through people-first leadership

Turning personal adversity into lifelong purpose

Leadership lessons from John Maxwell and Zig Ziglar

Emotional intelligence as a business advantage

Healthy workplaces without lowering the bar on excellence

Leading through uncertainty and organizational change

The Doorman Nobody Valued: Wes on Storytelling, Corporate Blind Spots, and Building Brotherhood of the Wolf29 Jul 202600:31:48

Wes grew up moving constantly — different states, different countries, new friends every few years. The one constant was story: books, movies, television. He wrote plays as a kid. He built a career in tech. And the whole time he watched the craft of storytelling get worse while he waited for someone to do something about it.

Eventually he realized nobody was coming. So he built it himself: Brotherhood of the Wolf, an independent graphic novel series he describes as Berserk meets Black Hawk Down — published in print only, drawn by professors from one of Italy’s serious comic schools, with fifteen issues mapped out and a video game in pre-production.

In this conversation:

•Why story reaches people emotionally when facts and figures never move the needle

•The doorman story — how a consulting firm saved a hotel chain money and cost it customers, because nobody counted what the doorman actually did

•What corporate structure does to creativity, and why skin in the game changes how you think

•The case for print: first editions, resale value, and why digital ownership is really just renting

•Media as diet — what you consume shapes you whether you’re paying attention or not

•Wes on Hollywood’s long record with Muslim and Arab characters, and building the stories he wanted his kids to have

•Quickfire round: dark fantasy, Berserk, and the most misunderstood villain in film

The takeaway: the people and things a spreadsheet can’t measure are usually the ones holding everything together. That’s true of a doorman, and it’s true of the stories you let into your house.

Art for Your Sanity: How Creativity Helps You Survive Chaos — with Susan Hensley28 Jul 202600:43:56

Susan Hensley spent decades as a corporate executive and leadership coach — until a pandemic and an impending retirement stacked pressure on her at the same time. What pulled her through wasn’t another strategy or a five-year plan. It was a blank page, some color, and a willingness to play again.

Susan is a transformational coach, speaker, and author of Art for Your Sanity: How Art Journaling Can Help You Manage Chaos and Unleash Joy. In this conversation, she and CJ Moneyway get into why so many adults lose their creativity somewhere along the way — and what it costs them when they do.

In this episode:

•Why Susan left the corporate world and found healing in art journaling

•How to start when you’re convinced you “aren’t creative”

•The way creative practice quiets the inner critic and unlocks right-brain problem solving

•What actually keeps people stuck during retirement, career shifts, and personal loss

•Why leaders battling burnout may need play more than another productivity system

•One exercise you can use today to bring clarity and joy back into your week

The takeaway: creativity isn’t a talent reserved for artists. It’s a tool for anyone trying to think clearly, heal honestly, and move forward on purpose.

Becoming Better: Ryan Gottfredson on Why Success Requires More Than Doing More22 Jul 202600:37:57

What happens when you have the education, talent, knowledge, and skills to succeed—but your results still do not reflect your potential?

In this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ Moneyway sits down with leadership researcher, professor, consultant, and author Ryan Gottfredson, Ph.D. for a revealing conversation about why lasting transformation requires more than credentials, checklists, and hard work.

Ryan shares the defining professional setback that changed the direction of his career. After leaving academia temporarily for a consulting position, he became frustrated because he believed the organization had placed him in a role that was smaller than his capabilities. When he called his manager to demand a greater opportunity, he was fired.

The experience left Ryan carrying shame and questioning how someone with his education and leadership expertise could still fail so dramatically.

His answer became the foundation of his work:

The problem was not his talent, knowledge, or skills. The problem was the quality of his mindsets.

Ryan explains that people possess two dimensions of development. The Doing Side includes talent, knowledge, skills, abilities, achievements, and credentials. The Being Side includes mindsets, character, emotional intelligence, emotional regulation, and the quality of a person’s internal operating system.

Most education and leadership development focuses almost entirely on helping people do more. Ryan argues that transformational growth begins when people learn how to be better.

CJ and Ryan also explore the story of a talented professional named Cheryl, who repeatedly pursued new certifications after being passed over for promotions. Her challenge was not a lack of qualifications. Fear prevented her from taking initiative and demonstrating the leadership capacity required for advancement.

The conversation moves into constructive criticism, emotional defensiveness, nervous-system regulation, journaling, purpose, fulfillment, organizational culture, and legacy. Ryan explains why the most elevated leaders are purpose-focused, root-focused, culture-focused, and committed to long-term impact rather than short-term results alone.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • The difference between the Doing Side and the Being Side
  • Why knowledge and credentials do not automatically produce leadership effectiveness
  • How self-protective mindsets can keep talented people stuck
  • Why emotional defensiveness limits personal growth
  • How nervous-system regulation supports better leadership
  • Why journaling became part of Ryan’s transformation
  • How purpose creates deeper fulfillment than achievement
  • The difference between fruit-focused and root-focused leadership
  • Why lasting legacy requires making the people around you better
  • How healing the mind, body, and heart supports personal transformation

Ryan’s latest book, Becoming Better, presents his science-informed framework for developing the Being Side through stronger mindsets, emotional depth, and internal regulation.

This episode is for leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and high performers who have spent years learning how to achieve—but are ready to transform who they are.

Doing better may improve your performance. Becoming better changes your life, leadership, and legacy.

From Frustration to Confidence: The Dyslexia Professor’s Blueprint for Struggling Readers20 Jul 202600:36:21

Every child deserves the opportunity to believe in themselves.

Yet for millions of families navigating dyslexia, that confidence is often replaced with frustration, confusion, and the heartbreaking belief that something is wrong.

• How to rebuild confidence after academic frustration

• Why multisensory instruction produces stronger results

• What parents should advocate for inside schools

• How children can transform from self-doubt to self-confidence

Built in the Pit: Chris Duffin on Resilience, Accountability, and the Discipline to Rise17 Jul 202600:48:59

Built in the Pit: Chris Duffin on Resilience, Accountability, and the Discipline to Rise

What does resilience look like when the motivational speech ends and the difficult work remains?

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with world-record strength athlete, bestselling author, entrepreneur, and resilience mentor Chris Duffin, widely known as the Mad Scientist of Strength.

Chris’s understanding of adversity was formed long before he entered a gym or built globally recognized companies. He grew up homeless in the wilderness, experienced extreme poverty and violence, cared for younger siblings, and learned survival responsibilities at an age when most children are still being protected from danger.

Rather than allowing those circumstances to define the limits of his future, Chris developed an extraordinary belief in his ability to adapt, solve problems, and rebuild.

In this conversation, CJ and Chris explore:

  • Why resilience is a capacity that can be trained
  • The difference between fear as a warning and fear as a prison
  • Chris’s Six Ps cycle of human development
  • How purpose outlasts temporary motivation
  • Why accountability restores personal power
  • Parenting, failure, and the importance of allowing struggle
  • Rebuilding after betrayal and business loss
  • What strength training teaches about leadership
  • The sacrifices behind elite performance
  • Purposeful reinvention through The Eagle and the Dragon
  • Chris’s ACL framework: Acknowledge, Celebrate, and Leverage

Chris reminds listeners that the pit is not the whole story. It is a season—and often the place where the strength needed for the next chapter is developed.

He Put His Dream on Hold for 17 Years to Raise Four Children | Mark on Purpose, Family & Second Chances06 Jul 202600:33:45

What happens when the dream you’ve spent years building has to be placed on hold?

This week on The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with author Mark for a deeply personal conversation about purpose, sacrifice, parenting, and rediscovering the dreams you thought were gone forever.

After publishing five books, Mark and his wife made a life-changing decision to adopt four older children, each navigating PTSD and significant learning challenges. That decision transformed every part of their lives and led Mark to step away from writing for nearly seventeen years.

Now, he’s returned with a brand-new young adult dystopian novel, carrying wisdom that could only come from living through one of life’s most meaningful interruptions.

Together they discuss:

Choosing family over personal ambition

Parenting children through trauma

Living with delayed dreams

Faith during difficult seasons

Returning to creativity after years away

Why purpose doesn’t always follow your timeline

This isn’t just an interview about writing.

It’s a conversation about legacy.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you’ve missed your opportunity…

This episode is for you!

How to Heal, Grow & Stay Present in a Chaotic World15 May 202600:41:01

What if the pain you’ve experienced wasn’t the end of your story…

…but the beginning of your transformation?

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ Moneyway sits down with Joanna Rajendran — author of My Guru Wears Heels, meditation teacher, keynote speaker, and spiritual coach — for a conversation centered on healing, mindfulness, resilience, and living with deeper intention.

For more than 26 years, Joanna studied under legendary yoga pioneer Tao Porchon-Lynch, learning lessons that would eventually shape her understanding of grief, spirituality, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.

But this conversation goes beyond yoga or meditation.

It’s about:

  • learning how to slow down in a fast-moving world
  • overcoming emotional heaviness
  • finding clarity through presence
  • and rebuilding your life with purpose instead of pressure
In this episode, we discuss:
  • How grief can become a doorway to growth
  • Why mindfulness is more than a trend
  • Spirituality in everyday life and leadership
  • Entrepreneurship with alignment and intention
  • Emotional healing and self-awareness
  • The power of living fully in the present moment
Joanna’s story is a reminder that healing doesn’t always happen loudly.

Sometimes transformation begins quietly — through awareness, stillness, and the willingness to reconnect with yourself.

If you’ve been carrying pressure, searching for clarity, or trying to rebuild mentally, emotionally, or spiritually… this conversation will meet you where you are.

Escaping Founder Prison: George Rivera on Buying Back Time, Building Wealth, and Protecting Family06 May 202600:39:21

What happens when business success starts costing you the life you actually wanted?

On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, CJ sits down with entrepreneur George Rivera, who helped scale brands to over $200 million in revenue before realizing the hidden cost of success.

Despite financial success, George discovered he had unintentionally built what he now calls “Founder Prison” — a business that demanded constant availability while slowly eroding time with family, health, and personal freedom.

That realization led him to develop the Buy Back Time Formula, a system that helps 7- and 8-figure founders reclaim 10–20 hours per week while continuing to grow their companies.

Today George works with entrepreneurs through the 18 Summers Roundtable and private Founder Dad Dinners, helping leaders redesign their role so they can build wealth without sacrificing the relationships that matter most.

In this episode we discuss:

• The hidden cost of entrepreneurial success

• Why founders become trapped by their own companies

• The Two-Week Vacation Test for business independence

• How to reclaim time without shrinking the business

• The difference between money and legacy

If you’re building a business but want to protect your family, faith, and personal life along the way — this conversation is essential.
